lance finding keith’s jacket after he leaves for the blade and for some unknown reason he keeps it in his room even though the very sight of it hurts his heart. after keith comes back “bigger, cooler, and grizzled” lance eventually notices that keith won’t be able to fit into his jacket and knows that it was from his dad and holds a lot of sentimental value so on their trek back to earth lance spends all his free time tailoring the jacket to be able to fit keith comfortable and still be the same jacket from his dad so none of the sentiment is lost. keith tearing up when he sees his jacket bc he thought it was left behind on the castle ship and lost forever, now more sentimental value on it bc lance poured a lot of time and energy, his blood (literally. the amount of times he poked himself with the needle bc red got jostled is insane. he’s surprised his didn’t pass out from blood loss. luckily the jackets red so…), sweat, and tears into making sure keith could keep the only thing he has of his dad with him after everything
