Day 1 of directing! Walked up to my trailer to find my name tag replaced. Regina/Roni went on hiatus. #OUAT #femaledirector

I loved prep! Here I am with Greg Venturi from the art department collaborating ideas on the Gingerbread House that we get to visit in the episode! Our art department is incredible! What they create is true magic! #impressed #OUAT #femaledirector #art

Directing a Fairy Tale with Dan Payne, Seth Isaac Johnson, and Lily van der Griend. I’m the shrimp in the beret! Voilà! #OUAT #femaledirector

Focused and never without my cheese puffs! #OUAT #femaledirector

With my sis, Rebecca Mader, watching us on playback. If you look closely I’m on screen! Interesting experience directing oneself. #OUAT #femaledirector #Zelena #Regina #sisters

Day 2… Deep in it! #directing #OUAT #femaledirector

One of my favorite parts of this job is working with the actors! Here I am with the very talented Andrew West. He had 8 pages that day and KILLED IT! #OUAT #Henry #femaledirector

Something magical happens in the Gingerbread House that only Craig Clarke from Visual Effects can bring to life! In the background is our witch Chilton Crane. This was definitely one of my favorite sets to work on! #fairytales #OUAT #femaledirector

ONCE UPON A TIME
PRE-FINALE: In “Flower Child” (airing April 27), “You find out all of Eloise’s backstory,” shares Rose Reynolds, who plays Alice/Tilly. “You find out why she is the way she is and why she wants more than to rule the world. It’s really good.” Then on May 4, Jared Gilmore returns as Younger Henry, as many loose ends are tied up and a new threat is unleashed. “A lot of things we’ve been building through the season reach a boiling point,” says co-creator Adam Horowitz, “but a surprise at the end of the episode spins us into the finale — a challenge that arises from within.”
SERIES FINALE (MAY 11 & 18): Airing across two nights and boasting returns by Jennifer Morrison, Ginny Goodwin, Josh Dallas and others, “We hopefully hit on all the greatest hits of the show,” says Horowitz. Leading lady Lana Parrilla meanwhile testifies that the finale is “beautiful,” both because of its callbacks and the closure it offers. “I really think the fans will love how we close out the series.” As did the cast. “Ginny was literally crying,” shares Parrilla, “even when the camera wasn’t on her!”
