Chapter 2 is up!

Writing my first fic! Any advice? I figured I'd ask you as I love ghosts of Mayweather and CDP

AWWW!! I’d love to give some advice! (though take it with a grain of salt i’m more a dumbass than anything else). there’s not really the golden ticket that I can tell you and immediately you’ll have the perfect fic, but here are a few good starting places. 

write it and let it sit. when I first wrote both ghosts of mayweather and the one-shot all the world's a stage, I considered deleting both of them SO. MANY. TIMES. i was overthinking everything, and i desperately wanted them to be perfect, and i thought that if they weren’t it was better to not even post them at all. but I was smart and saved them in a loose doc and boy i’m glad it did. usually you want to take some time in between, it’ll keep the fic from being super fresh, and you’ll probably catch stuff you didn’t see before

check continuity! the worst thing that can happen is writing, editing, and then forgetting that you changed something huge and now half the dialogue doesn’t make sense. a quick proofread will save you so much time and stress later.

Don’t be afraid to delete small stuff, or even completely change the order in which something happens, sometimes you might find you like it better

READ. look at some of your favorite fics, see what you like, and avoid what you don’t 

Here’s a few (keyword few there’s over 700 fics on ao3 i had to choose wisely) of my favorite for how they incorporate style and dialogue and shtuff into their writing.

It wasn’t anything fancy. A pair of sweatpants, a t-shirt, and a pair of boxers that looked new out the pack. Sohinki didn’t realize until he put it on that it was actually his shirt. It stopped him in his tracks for a moment.

It was a silly moment, but something had happened to Lasercorn’s shirt right before a shoot and he didn’t want to be seen like that and Sohinki had had an extra shirt that happened to be Lasercorn’s size. He had promised to give it back, but never had. And now here he was wearing it.

He was a junior who only put about 10% of his effort into school so of course, he was at a large high school party on a Friday night. Who’s party he couldn’t say, one of the rich kids he was sure since the house fit 60% of the student body well. Though he had come with friends, friends who he had smoked with before arriving at the party, they had all splintered off by the time he was approached by a very drunk Courtney Miller. Her giggle grated on his eardrums. “Well are you here to stand around or are you here to party?” It takes David a moment to realize he was asked a question, and his answer is tentative and the end a little rushed since someone bumped hard into them while he was talking, “I guess party?” 

So I may or not of written this like last week, but I felt weird posting it because I had taken a break from watching smosh videos due to the drama going on. But last night I binged old smosh videos, avoiding ones with certain members, and remembered why I love writing them so much in the first place. So I'm finally posting this.

They were good at this. Knowing where the other wanted to be touched, know how to get the other in the mood they wanted. This part was like a well-rehearsed dance and song with way more expletives than would be allowed on Broadway. And it felt like they were about to do a scene that they never got the full script on and never rehearsed. Would Wes be good at Improv?

wooow who would expect i wrote something with Wes and lasercorn? Its not like that’s been most of the damn one offs i’ve written or anything lmao

One of the last people to board the bus, got Mari’s attention. He was tall and muscular with broad shoulders and a chiseled jaw. His hair was dyed silver and swept back. He was definitely attractive. Just her luck, he took the seat next to her. Of course, an attractive guy would sit next to her when she was feeling gross and sweaty and her stomach was not having it. He settles in quickly and as he does, the bus starts moving. Her stomach lurches and she seriously contemplates the love for her sister.

I’m gonna ride this random motivation train until the conductor pulls me from the car, kicking and screaming.

Enjoy this little thing. It’s kinda sad but I'm super proud of it, so enjoy some angst!

It was one of those things that, had he been able to see 5 years in the future, he never would have even considered it. Then again that was usually the case with attempted suicide. Most of those people didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Most of them felt there would never be a light or that the light was so far it wasn’t worth reaching for. Back when Damien was in 8th grade he didn’t believe that light even existed.

Please check the tags, because as you can tell from the summary, this is a little deeper than the other stuff I've posted this week. Don't worry though, there are no graphic depictions of anything.

It feels like a story.

An angsty teen novel where a bunch of damaged teenagers find each other. It feels like it's supposed to be heartwarming, that everyone accepts each other unlike the world they were born into. A bunch of close friends who only feel the warmth of the sun when they are in each other’s company. And as they become closer, all of their problems fade into the background.

Life, However, does not always imitate art.

This is my addition to the Teenage disasters  AU by @smosh-stuff that I literally started in January, and have basically been on and off again writing since, and it's finally complete! I’m actually super proud of it and I really hope you guys like it!
