Snippet: ashes ch 4 rage and grief

“No you don’t. Trust me, Liam; you don’t.”

That was exactly the sort of unhelpful that made his wolf seethe, his own anger at being told other people knew better feeding his animal’s discontent snarling. If people had listened, really listened, to him back when Theo first left, maybe it wouldn’t have taken so long to find him. He was done with people around him treating him like a fucking idiot without the ability to prioritize or handle shit. Anger didn’t mean that he was any less capable than them. 

“Is he alive? Is he dying? Why won’t you let me see him? Tell me something! Anything!” Liam’s arm shook as he held back the urge to slam it into the door. Lashing out wasn’t going to help his case. “I’m losing my fucking mind, Scott. Please.” He looked over at his alpha, hsi friend, again, feeling the tears welling in his eyes, and for once he didn’t feel the need to wipe them away or hide them. “I…I just need something.”

After several thunderously quiet moments, Scott sighed and said, “He’s alive,” in a way that had Liam wondering if maybe the alpha was thinking that was a bad thing.

WIP Wednesday Game

It’s WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.

Here’s how it works:

In a reblog of this post (so people can find you in the notes) or new thread (w/ rules attached) if you want to play on your own, post up to five (5) filenames of your WIPs; not titles, file names.

Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to play!

After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write 3 sentences in that file. If the filename is one you can't share from (for example, an event or gift fic), write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.

That’s it! You can invite others to join in, or just post. I’ll be searching the reblogs to find people to send asks to!

Being led into the warehouse, Lisa could hardly contain herself, grinning and jumping around and looking at everything she could the whole way down. She couldn’t believe it was really happening, Hell, she thought she really must’ve been crazy to come up with something so ridiculous and vivid. The sun in the desert really was brighter, the sky was less gray.

The warehouse itself stank of rotten meat and burnt leaves but it was beautiful, she loved it so much that she wanted to stay there forever. As she followed her guide further inside she waved and smiled at some of the people standing around in there, but didn’t get much back in return. Mostly they just stared at her.
