LM: The Return of Superman, “Growing Pains” Part 3

BS: Hello wide open spaces and an open yard, this Superman spends most of his free time in this modern Hanok style house just outside of the city.

LM: The rustic, stained wood accents are found all throughout the house as well as the toys that cover every inch of the sun room.

BS: It provides almost a path towards the backyard.

LM: Which is quite huge if I do say so myself, they even made use of the space with a patio, garden and gazebo.

Soonyoung pushes away the large amount of sweat that seemed to form after wearing a cap. He attempts to cover his eyes while trying to avoid bumping into the cameras.

The sound of whispers could be heard within a foot radius, causing the cameras scattered amongst the trees and bushes of the backyard to turn. Three little heads can be seen peeking out from a large tree closer to the back fence.

LM: Their little round faces are so adorable.

Soonyoung slowly creeps towards the back trees, before yelling “I found you!”

“Appa!” One of them exhales loudly in disbelief. It was obvious to Soonyoung that Taeyoung didn’t expect to be found so quickly.

Miyoung joins in by complaining loudly, “That’s not fair.” Her pigtails bounce around as she turns to face her brothers. “I told Jinyoung and you to hide somewhere else.”

“I was here first.” Jinyoung timidly answers as the three walk away from the tree.

Soonyoung can’t help but laugh at his little mini-me’s. Before things escalate too fast he attempts to re-engage their focus elsewhere. “Don't fight, if you guys want to try again we can do another round. How does that sound?”

BS: Our new Superman is a full time dad of triplets that is known for shaking the stage. Everyone say hello to our performance team leader, Kwon Soonyoung!

LM: Soonyoung-shi! Welcome to the show. If your life is anything like the time me and my daughters came over, I’m sure you’ll have no problem gaining the hearts of our viewers.

The sound of a familiar ringtone breaks any tension between the trio, as they begin to tug on their dad’s shirt. Soonyoung on the other hand is smiling way too wide at the ID on his phone to even notice.

BS: This means that his partner is none other than internationally acclaimed comedian and actress, Y/N L/N.

“Hi. Taeyong-ah, Jinyoung-ah, Miyoung-ah. How are my babies?” Soonyoung crouches down to their height in order to see the face that belonged to a high, soft spoken, baby voice.

“Eomma misses you all very much. I should be home by tomorrow evening. Can’t wait to hold you and give you kisses again.” Miyoung practically sings in her sweet voice.

“Me too!” Taeyoung chimes in beside his sister.

Lastly Jinyoung pushes past his siblings to share a quiet “I love you Eomma.”

“Yeobbo,” Soonyoung pouts. It was evident in his face that he wanted your attention. Before you can even let out a response, Miyoung takes the phone out of his hand and hangs up. The two laugh at their sisters antics, their father's mouth left open in disbelief.

“What time is it?” Soonyoung yells towards the camera as if he were performing at a stadium.

You and the little ones can’t help but giggle at their father, proudly yelling, “10:10!”

“Hello everyone my name is Kwon Soonyoung but you might know me as Seventeen’s performance leader, Hoshi. My kids Taeyoung, Jinyoung, and Miyoung on the other hand know me as appa.”

“And I’m their mother Kwon Y/N.”

How did you two meet?

Soonyoung chuckled as all the memories flooded back, “I’m glad this was brought up. There have been so many rumours about how we met.”

Looking at the director who asked the question, “We knew about each other for a long time.” You turn to see your husband's face all flush as you go on. “Our mutual friends would always tell me how I’d get along with Soonyoung. I really did want to meet him but our schedules almost never aligned.”

“It wasn’t until Mingyu’s wife tricked us into going on a blind date that we had time to meet one another.” He continued, his smile getting wider as he spoke.

“We walked around the zoo together and then ate at one of their animal themed cafes.” A rather loud laugh escaped your lips as Soonyoung went into detail.

“When she picked out the tiger themed one I instantly knew I wanted to marry her.”

What was it like for you guys when the two of you started dating in the public eye?

Soonyoung takes a moment to adjust himself after two of the twins start falling asleep against his chest. You went ahead and answered to the best of your ability replying, “I was actually more open than Youngie was to revealing our relationship, I didn’t want my comedic sets and other acting jobs to affect his career or vice versa.”

Just as you turned to your husband you noticed a piece of his hair out of place. With your free hand you tuck it behind his ear while balancing the other. You swear he had seen the moon, the sun and all the stars in your eyes as he spoke. “It was a matter of if I wanted to share this part of me to the world.” He exhales the breath he had been holding in, speaking comfortably when he intertwined his hand in yours. “Y/N loves to laugh off the hate she receives even if it really digs into her in hurtful ways. As her fiancé, I wanted to shield her away from all the negativity.”

“I don’t think I would've been happy being kept away,” you reassured the viewers, “There's no need to hide something as beautiful and as special as love.”

How did you react to finding out you were expecting triplets?

“I honestly think our fans were more shocked then we were.” Soonyoung walks back in after putting the triplets down for a nap, you calmly and quietly continue speaking to the camera. “We got together later than most people our age so I struggled getting pregnant for a while. After a few attempts and no results we decided to consult with our doctor who suggested IVF.”

“For those of you who don’t know, IVF has the tendency to produce multiple pregnancies. It’s almost 40% more likely than a natural birth.” Soonyoung says enthusiastically, “Y/N and I definitely knew that possibility but it didn’t really become real to us until we saw it on the ultrasound.”

“Soonyoung cried for a good hour or so after that appointment. The only time he cried more than that was when I went into labor.”

“You were having a hard time pushing because Minyoung came out first. How could I not react?”

“She was blessed with a big head just like the two of us.” You try your best to lighten the mood, knowing how much he hated looking back on your pain. “Aside from the initial struggles of birth we’ve been so lucky that our children are so well behaved. So taking care of them has been easier for us than most parents.”

Would you want more kids?

“Yes,” Soonyoung smiles sheepishly.

“We’ve always dreamed of having a big family.” You explain to the viewers “Obviously not right now given the size of our house but later down the line when we move out and the kids start kindergarten I wouldn’t mind trying again.”

Do you have anything you’d like to say to the viewers of Return of Superman?

“I hope we can provide you with laughter and happiness when you watch our daily antics.”

You follow suit, bowing politely, “Please love my family.” Sticking your neck out more, you direct your attention to the staff behind the camera, as they work away at audio, “I’m sorry in advance if my husband and children are very loud, I hope that doesn’t make your job difficult. If there's any trouble please let me know. Thank you.”.

LM: Episode 1 “Today is a New Day”. It’s a sunny summer morning in August, today we are meeting our newest superman.

BS: First let’s take a look at the spacious, simple interior of the house. The toys seem to be neatly put away into cubbies and draws.

LM: Let see who lives here. Two boys have woken up, one diligently brushes his pearly white teeth while the other carefully washes his face.

BS: Ah! No way! Looks like we have a set of identical twins in this Superman household. Both look too old to be playing with the toys in the living room.

LM: The lights have turned on in another room. It looks like the mother has walked into a room with two beds in them.

You look into your Youngest twins room, careful to not show your face to the cameras quite yet, and see if they have gotten up already.

Chuckling to yourself as the two boys are sprawled out the same way in each bed. You carefully remove the blanket from the first before leaning over to kiss Seungjun’s exposed forehead.

You whisper a good morning before making your way towards the Seungjae’s bed repeating the same action, opening the blinds, and making your way to the kitchen.

LM: This Supermom sure has her handful with two pairs of boys. These too seem to appear much younger than the other two.

BS: Wah! Kids are always so cute when they wake up in the morning, these twins take the cake as being the cutest. Who could these beautiful boys parents be?

You open the fridge grabbing seaweed, premade stock, tofu, fish, eggs, carrots and green onions. You take a pot to the stove quickly bring the stock to a boil.

You open the smoker close to the oven, carefully taking the fish out.

Pulling a bowl from the dishwasher, your crack a couple of eggs into a bowl, throwing in some carrots and green onions you diced earlier.

You carefully poor in the mixture into a lightly oiled pan, occasionally checking the soup boiling beside it.

LM: This person is so kind and hard-working, she kisses her kids in the morning, prepares breakfast and has even had time to wash some dishes left in the sink. A true supermom.

Your two older sons come in quietly, admiring the way you work before Baekyeon opens his mouth to speak. “Do you need help Eomma?”

Smiling kindly to both of them, asking if they could help wake up their dad and younger siblings while you go and set the table for breakfast. They both nod, before doing as they’re told.

BS: This supersized family seems to gather around the dining room table most often. Oh! Do my eyes deceive me is that a high chair and dog bowls near the fridge?

Making your way over to the fridge, you bend down to pick up one of the empty dog food bowls before making your way to the cabinet under the sink.

Opening a large pet food storage container you scoop dog food into the bowl, shaking it loudly as you put it back down.

“Bomi!”, you call out loudly. The sound of paws could be heard against your tile floors as the family's dog, a Malamute Husky makes its way into the kitchen.

Without hesitation, she sits patiently near her bowl waiting for you to give her a command to eat. With a slight nod of your head, she devours the food happily.

“Jagiya,” Your husband calls sweetly to you in his deep morning voice, you dry off your hands on a nearby kitchen towel before making your way towards the master bedroom.

When you turn around, the cameras immediately catch the view of your face.

BS: No way! It’s renowned Chef, restaurant owner and part-time host of “Take Care of My Fridge Korea”, Choi Y/N.

You return from the bedroom carrying the youngest member of your family as your husband struggles from behind you, carrying the youngest twins in either arm.

BS: That means her husband is none other than Seventeen’s leader SCoups

“Hello, my name is Choi Baekhyeon, I am 9 years old.”

“I’m Choi Jihyeon and I’m his twin brother, it’s very nice to meet you.” The two eldest bow respectfully towards the camera before bringing out their younger siblings.

“These are our younger brothers Seungjae, and Seungjun. How old are you guys?” Jihyeon asks, getting down to their level when he speaks.

“We’re 5” Seungjae cheekily escapes his brother moving up close to the camera.

Seungjun follows after him, before tugging him back towards Seungcheol’s lap. “No Jae, we’re 6 now.”

‘Oh yeah, you’re right.” Seungjae laughs. Seungcheol can’t help but chuckle at them before ruffling their hair.

“Hello, I’m Choi Seungcheol,” he struggles to speak comfortably as the younger twins decide to sit on either side of his leg.

“Hello, I’m Seungcheol’s wife Choi Y/N, and this is our Maknae Choi Aecha.” You bow towards the camera, and Aecha who sits comfortably in your lap follows.

Choi Seungcheol is leader of one of the top 3rd generation idol groups while his wife is a famous Michelin star chef. The pair met at a recording of “Take Care of My Fridge”. After 4 years of dating, they got married spring of 20XX. Almost a year later their first twins, Baekhyeon and Jihyeon, were born.

What were your first impressions of each other?”

“She was my celebrity crush and I was hers but we never had a chance to talk to each other until my members Joshua, Mingyu and I were guests on “Take Care of My Fridge”

“He was quick to introduce himself and the other members when we met each other in the hallway of the studio. Right there and then I could tell he was the leader type, someone you could depend on. That was always something I wanted in my significant other.”

“In reality, I was trying to hide the fact I was shaking of nervousness and sweating bullets.”

“Really?”

“I thought you were out of my league, besides you were known to be cute and kind while your costars and other guests were scared of me.”

“You’re not scary, you’re a big old teddy bear.”

“When did you realize you two wanted to get married?”

“It was after we adopted our dog Bomi from the shelter and I came home late from the studio. Just seeing her on the couch with Bomi passed out after waiting for me to come home, and dinner laid out on the table for me is when I knew I wanted to be with her the rest of my life.”

“I realized he was the one when he was watching me compete in a famous food competition that I was preparing for and in the end, I came in 2nd place. I was beyond upset with myself knowing that I could’ve done better, but rather than allowing me to beat myself up over it, he surprised me with a trophy case with all my accomplishments in our apartment. He made me realize I shouldn’t focus on what I can’t do but what I can.”

Did you guys plan to have this big of a family?”

“Seungcheol and I always knew we wanted a big family, it was one of the things we talked about when we first started dating. After we found we were having BaekHyeon and Jihyeon we realized the house was going to be hectic, so we put that dream on pause.”

“Three years passed and we realized that we still felt like we were missing a piece of our family. We both really wanted to have a girl so we decided to try again.”

“To our surprise, we were expecting another set of twins.”

“We love our boys with all our hearts, but even after the younger twins began growing more independently, we began to miss the fresh baby and wanted to try for a girl.”

“After waiting for so long we finally had our little princess Aecha, and it was like all the pieces fell into place for our little family.”

What can viewers look forward to with your family?”

“Beak and Ji are older and busy with school so they won’t be on screen often, however, I hope my time watching Seungjae, Seungjun and Aecha will put a smile on your faces.

BS: Looks like Y/N is off to drop the oldest twins at school before she heads to her first day back at work after maternity leave. Awe, so sweet, she can’t leave without a kiss from her kids and husband.

LM: It is always difficult returning back to work after spending such a long time with your kids. Let’s hope Seungcheol can handle taking care of the little ones all by himself.

BS: Return of Superman Episode 2 “Growing Pains” Part 2

BS: I heard from another bird that our first family is another Seventeen members. I wonder who it could possibly be.

LM: We start off in an oriental modern style apartment, with black-accented doors bring depth into the bright atmosphere of the white walls. It has essential spaces like the kitchen, laundry, bathroom, etc… as well as a spare bedroom used as a mixing/recording room.

BS: I’m starting to think I have an idea of who this apartment belongs to.

“KBS” can be heard faintly underneath the covers as your son Kanghoon begins to wake up and get ready for the morning. Jumping out of the covers while grasping onto his grey cat stuffie before quickly running into the living room.

LM: Sounds like our superkid is awake. Who is this child that said KBS in his sleep?

As he runs into the kitchen towards the living room where his eyes immediately catch the tents set up around him. Cautiously walking closer before accidentally catching his foot underneath the grey mat on the floor.

LM: Oh no is he going to cry? I hope you're okay buddy.

He lands down on his stomach but, thankfully his stuff toy cushioned his fall. Raising his head he looks around at the cameramen with a straight face before carefully lifting himself off the ground.

BS: I’m impressed most kids his age would have cried an ocean.

Kanghoon holds onto his stuffy in one arm as he kindly waves hi to the cameramen with the other. He tilts his head at one of them in question and asks, “ Do you want to see Appa?” The camera nods up and down, catching the little boy runs back towards the master bedroom

Cautiously he climbs onto large queen-sized bed standing tall above the mountain-shaped blankets before jumping on top of one of them. “Appa! Wake up.” He yells loudly. “The writers and cameramen are here.”

A groan can be heard before Kanghoon pulls the grey duvet back to reveal his father. Jihoon rubs the sleep past his eyes before pulling his son in for a hug in front of the camera.

LM: Ahhh it’s Jihoon-ah

“Hello my name is Lee KwangHoo; I am 4 years old and my birthday is March 16th. This is my best friend Nabi.” He says while squeezing said stuff toy into a tight hug.

“Good job baby boy.” You coo at him while pinching lightly onto his chubby cheeks.

You turn towards the camera smiling as you bow and introduce yourself, “My name is Lee Y/N, I’m a professional Child Psychologist and Kanghoon’s mom.”

“Hello, I’m Lee Jihoon, Seventeen’s Vocal Team leader and Producer. I am Kanghoon’s dad.”

How’d you two meet?

“It was at my favourite restaurant after a late shift at the hospital I worked at the time. I grabbed a table to myself to eat some meat, and just as the food came it got super busy.”

“I walked into the restaurant to snack on some food after I had finished up at the recording studio but most of the tables were full. Y/N saw that I was looking for somewhere to sit and offered to share her table.” He smiles widely as he recalls the events as if they happened yesterday.

“It was awkward at first as we both ate quietly, but I’d asked him about how his food was and just went back and forth asking each other questions.”

“We did this for what seemed like hours and really hit it off so by the end of the night we exchanged each other’s numbers and planned to meet back at the restaurant the next day.”

“It became our own little spot away from the everyday lives we normally live. I’d like to think the restaurant became a big factor in how we became friends and eventually significant others.

When did you two get married?

Y/N contemplates a little before responding, “It was probably 6 years after we first met, and 4 years after we started dating.”

Jihoon adds on saying, “At the time it was kind of controversial. We hadn’t even told anyone outside of our friends and family that we were even together. "

"Though there were some fans that were shocked by the sudden reveal, the majority of them were extremely supportive of our relationship.”

“Not even a year later we had Kanghoon and everyone on SNS fell in love with how cute he was.” Y/N says while fixing the stray hair’s covering his eyes as he plays a video on Jihoon’s phone.

We have seen some videos from seventeen’s twitter of Kanghoon playing with your piano and recording equipment. Is it true he’s a musical genius?

“I wouldn’t go that far. He does really love learning new things though.” Jihoon says laughing at the bold statement.

“We don’t force him to learn anything if he takes interest in something we always support him by providing material he needs to grow. He takes his experience as a way of learning.

What’d you like to say to the viewers watching at home?

Even though we've been very private about our personal lives, I wanted to use this show as an opportunity to document Kanghoon.

As much as we don’t want to accept it, our kids have to grow up. This show gives me the opportunity to not only spend time with my son as well as the chance to look see how much he has grown. So thank you for having us here.

BS: The Return of Superman “Growing Pains” Part 1. Guess who’s back with us today.

LM: Hello everyone, thank you for all your kind words while I was away. Thankfully my wife and daughter, Minji, helped me get over this cold. I can't wait to meet our next family.

BS: Unlike other family’s we begin with the bright lights of the photo studio, perhaps our superman or superwomen could possibly be a model. Who could be behind the camera?

“Wow, you’re doing so well Minjeong-ah. Smile towards the camera.” the cameraman coos as your oldest daughter poses cutely in front of the white paper background.

LM: Whose daughter is this? She’s absolutely adorable. She’s like a delicate flower.

Sitting down on a chair off-camera, you carefully monitor the photos captured as they’re uploaded onto a computer.

Your two-year-old daughter Minhye, who comfortably sits on the fluffy fabric on your pale white dress admiring the photos while trying to hide from the cameras. “Do you like my dress baby?”

Minhye nods before pointing widely at her older sister, “Mommy’s dress is pretty.” before gently cupping your face in her tiny chubby hands.“It’s like Unnie’s dress.”

LM: Looks like Miss Minjeong has finished up and is now making her way to her mother.

She cautiously walks over the camera and lights wires before making her way towards you and her sister. Climbing onto your lap she looks carefully at the photos on the screen.

A smile lights up her face as she admires how nice they turn out before tilting her head in confusion. “Mommy, what are these photos for?”

“We’re taking photos for Appa’s father’s day present,” you say as you carefully brush down the flyaways in her hair, the camera pans up to ultimately reveal your face to the camera.

BS: Looks like our supermom is South Korea’s breakout plus-size supermodel who has taken the modelling industry by storm, Kim Y/N.

Minhye looks around her before frantically tugging at your hand “Mommy where did Appa go?” concern immediately flooding her face as she searches. Minjeong joins, inspecting the room.

“He’s busy dressing Minjae and Wooyoo up for the family photo.” You assure your anxious daughters. Their worries are cut short by the sound of a nearby door open.

Your husband comes into the room supporting your son in one hand while getting tugged by the leash in the other as your family samoyed runs towards you.

LM: Please say hello to our first superman this episode, seventeen's friendly, visual giant, Kim Mingyu.

“Sorry for the wait everyone, I got a little tangled up with the dog.” He says trying to untangle himself from Wooyoo’s leash causing your little girls to giggle loudly.

“Hello everyone, I’m international plus-size model, Y/N. I’m the mother of four-year-old Minjeong, two-year-old Minhye and 3-month old Minjae.” You say pointing out each child individually.

Minjeong sits comfortably on Mingyu’s right leg while Minhye sits on the other while hiding herself in his chest. Minjae is cradled quietly in your arms as he drinks his milk bottle.

“I’m Seventeen’s visual rapper, Y/N’s husband, Kim Mingyu,” he says bowing carefully to make sure he does not squish the girls. “Thank you for having us on your show.”

What’s your name?

“Sleepy.”

Mingyu look at Minjeong as he gently rubs the top of her head, “Are you really tired?” She nods slowly before twisting her father’s hand toward’s the direction of her bedroom.

“Hold on sweetheart.” Mingyu realizes his mic is getting pulled as well. “The mic is stuck in your hair.” She stands still for a bit but begins to whine impatiently.

Her whines seem to trigger her siblings to do the same, as Minhye quietly yawns and Minjae softly cries in your arms. You and Mingyu abruptly decide to set the kids down for their nap.

You and Mingyu give a deep bow, after returning back into the room. “Sorry, the kids can be particular when it comes to nap time. We should’ve remembered.” Your husband explains as the two of you carefully sit back down in your chairs.

Let’s try a different question; how did you two meet?

“The first time we met seventeen was having a special shoot with dispatch inside a stadium. Y/N had been working part-time at their restaurant and served us drinks and food during our break.” Mingyu recalled.

“We actually had a mutual friend; Yugyeom of Got7 introduce us to each other again at his 26th birthday party. From there we would become best friends until one day he asked if I thought of him as more than that.”

“I immediately asked her to be my girlfriend after she had told me the same way, we started dating, moving into our first apartment together and adopting our dog Wooyoo.”

“Suddenly, 9 months after Mingyu returned from his time in the military we had our first daughter Minjeong.” Mingyu bites his lips before concealing his flushed coloured face in his hands as you spoke.

“I proposed to Y/N on Jeongie’s 1st birthday and we had planned to get married the same year. However, it had to be pushed back after we found out Y/N was pregnant again with Minhye.”

“We got married a couple of months after Minhye turned one but quickly after our honeymoon I became pregnant with little Minjae.”

Have the two of you thought about having more kids?

“I think we can agree we’d love to have another baby, but our current living conditions are just too small to accommodate for another addition,” Mingyu says while rubbing his chin.

Nodding in agreement, “We’ll definitely need to find a bigger apartment before we have another baby.”

Do you have anything you’d like to say to the viewers of Return of Superman?

“I'd like by starting off saying thank you for giving our family the opportunity to join the Return of Superman: Idol. I hope we can teach everyone that our kids are teaching us just as much as we’re teaching them.”

LM: The Return of Superman: Idol Edition, Episode 1 “Today is a New Day.” Part 2

BS: After leaving the Choi residence we promptly introduce our next superman.

LM: Wow, this minimalist interior makes it looks like no one lives here. Even the polished floors of the personal dance studio are kept spotless.

BS: A cheerful yellow room with dinosaur decals on the wall sits adjacent from the last. Wooden blocks sit above the white dresser beside the crib: 미래

LM: Looks like the owner of that name is getting up from their nap. Ah! She’s so cute.

BS: I don’t think I’ve heard such a quiet cry before. Oh? She stopped.

You walk over to the crib in your bedroom, and the crying instantly ceases and is replaced with laughing. Your daughters smiles up at you with her gummy smile and messy bed hair.

Smiling back at the little bundle of joy, pulling her out of the crib. The two of you make your way into the main living room so as to not wake your sleeping boyfriend.

BS: Our Superman is still sound asleep in bed, perhaps he had a long night?

The two of you sit on the couch. “Mirae-ah,” calling her attention as you set her down in your lap as she looks around the room curiously. “What are those?”

Without any hesitation, she smiles at the cameras and staff. “Did you say hi?” You question the 11-month-old before she shields her face into your shirt.

LM: Oh my gosh. She’s so cute, I don’t think I’ve seen a baby so open to being in front of the camera. It looks like she has just started growing her front top teeth.

“How about we play with your walker while Eomma prepares your milk?” She smiles and squeals at your facial expressions as you carry her towards the kitchen.

Pulling her bouncer/walker with your foot towards the kitchen you carefully place your giggly baby girl in. Before attention gravitates towards the toys attached to it.

BS: Our Superman has finally woken up. Who could be the father of this cutie baby?

Just as you finish making your daughter’s milk bottle, a pair of sturdy arms come around your waist giving a gentle squeeze. You turn around to face your boyfriend.

LM: Wow his hair looks like a birds nest.

BS: The same could be said about Mirae. Looking at them side by side, the resemblance is truly uncanny

Cupping his face gently. “Rehearsal ran long again?” You cooed. He tiredly nods before placing his head into your shoulder.

You laugh at his bed head before gently combing through it with your finger to reveal his facial features to the cameras.

LM: It’s Seventeen’s Golden Maknae, Dance Machine Lee Chan.

BS: He’s now all grown up with a little family of his own, with his non-idol girlfriend and his 11-month-old daughter Lee Mirae.

“Hello My name is Lee Chan, I’m a third-generation Kpop idol from the idol group seventeen, actor and father to Lee Mirae. Aka the cutest baby in the whole world.” He says bouncing the infant on his lap, which causes a laugh to escape from her lips.

You stare at the daddy-daughter duo lovingly before shifting your attention to the cameras. “Welcome to our home everyone. I’m Mirae’s mother, Kim Y/N.”

How did you two meet?

Mirae places her hands up towards you to get picked up. Chan places her down on your lap before clearing his throat to speak “It was during the filming my first drama and she happened to be one of the staff members.”

A laugh escapes your lips as you recall the events vividly,“He offered to eat with me during our craft service break, and it slowly became routine for us.”

“We ended up exchanging our numbers the last day of filming and the rest became history,” Chan smiles to himself from ear to ear thinking of how far you've come.

How did you two react after finding out you were expecting?

His face drastically changes after hearing the question, clenching his hands in a tight fist as he spoke, “God it was terrifying.” He finally blurts out before looking away from the cameras.

“Many things were happening at that time. Chan was still completing the last 8 months of his military service, and I was having trouble finding a new job.” You try your best to restrain your emotions.

However, your voice breaks a little as you continue speaking, “I was worried about what the fans would think, and the netizens since the two of us aren’t married. More importantly, I was afraid of how Chan would react.”

Chan looks at you, concern rising on his face before reaching to hold onto your free hand. “It was challenging for both of us, but I think looking back on it now it was worth every worry or doubt we had to face from others as well as ourselves.”

We heard your 6th anniversary is soon, is there anything you'd like to say to one another?

“Y/N-ah, I’m sorry for giving you such a hard time, at times I felt like it was my fault for placing you in such a vulnerable position and hated myself so much because of that.” He holds onto his composure as best as he can until his eyes drift towards a sleeping Mirae.

He takes a deep breath, using the back of his hand to wipe the tears that had already threatened to fall. “I know I may never be able to repay you, but I want to make sure that the rest of our lives together are spent without any stress. I will work hard every day to prove how thankful I am to have you in my life, until the day I die.”

Carefully securing Mirae in one arm, you gently wipe your Chan’s tears with the thumb of your free hand. “A don’t cry, you’re making me cry and I haven’t even answered the question yet.”

“I can’t help it.”

Passing your boyfriend tissues as you speak, tears begin to fall before you even start. “Lee Chan. my Jagiya, thank you for being there for me, even at times where I felt like I wanted to give up or walk away from what we have. I know we planned to have kids later on in life, but can’t imagine wanting someone else to be the father of my child, I love you so much.”

Do you have anything you’d like to say to the viewers of Return of Superman?

“Hello everyone, I am Lee Mirae’s father Lee Chan of Seventeen. Like many first time parents, I’m always learning as we go, so I hope you guys can take what I learn and use it in your everyday lives. I hope the Return of Superman community welcome take care of Mirae and I as we welcome you into our home with open arms.” He smiles towards the camera before the three of you now.

BS: You might have noticed a different voice in the booth. Minhyuk, unfortunately, is at home sick so we have a guest to help finish today’s episode. Some of you may know her as the host of Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-staurant as well as other KBS programs.

Y/N: Hello everyone, I’m Lee Y/N, nice to meet you. I hope we have a fun time watching the episode together. Let’s get started, shall we?

BS: This superman family lives in a spacious modern two-floor studio-style apartment. The big open windows bring natural light to emphasize the minimalistic design elements.

BS: Walking into the house we're immediately blown away by the neatly kept kitchen, breakfast bar, dining room table and spacious living room. The main hallway has two bedrooms.

Y/N: One is used as a storage room for clothes and other materials, while the other holds a neatly kept pink princess bed that looks brand new, a play kitchen as well as other toys.

BS: We’ve seen the majority of the house on this point but still haven’t met a single soul. Who on Earth could this superman family be?

Carefully carrying your daughter from your bathtub onto the bathroom floor of the master bathroom, she grabs a cute green spring dress sitting on the towel rack to put on herself.

Turning away for a second to grab the hairdryer and brush in the sink drawers.“Do you want to brush your hair this time?” you ask your daughter.

BS: That voice sounds oddly familiar, perhaps they’re friends of ours.

Y/N: I know right? Maybe they're outside of seventeen. I know Krystal Wang has been a popular tv host lately.

BS: That’s right. I’ve actually talked to Jackson Hyung about joining the show, and he seems interested. But I'm not 100% sure about that."

“Yes please, mommy!” Your daughter nods energetically handing her the brush. She begins brushing her hair while you turn the hairdryer on.

Once completely dried you turn it off and begin applying lotion onto her face.

You gently wipe the remainder of the lotion residue and leave a kiss on her button nose.

“Mommy, can I have another kiss?” She asks sweetly with her lips in a pout. Laughing at her expression before kissing the top of her head and finally revealing your face to the camera.

BS: Oh my gosh, Noona that’s you and Seol-hee. I can’t believe you didn’t tell me you were going to be on the show.

Y/N: Your favourite Hyung and I made a bet to see who’s making dinner tonight. I’m glad it worked out in my favour.

BS: This means our final dad for today’s episode is none other than Dokyeom-Hyungie!

“Can daddy also get a kiss?” you and your daughter turn to see your husband leaning against the doorway.

Seokmin struts into the room before picking your daughter up naturally into his arms.

The weight of your body shifts as you're tippy-toeing to leave a quick peck on his cheek. He jerks his head fast without thinking causing the two of you to accidentally touch lips.

Both of you are left in a blushing mess shyly looking away from each other as your daughter begins complaining about not getting any kisses from her dad.

Hello, my name is Lee Seol-hee, I am 4 years old. My mother is Y/N and my father is Lee Seokmin. Please take care of my family.” Your daughter bows respectfully to the camera.

A contented fatherly smile can be noted on your husband’s face as he watches. “I’m Lee Seol-hee’s father, musical actor and Seventeen’s main vocalist, Lee Dokyeom”

I’m her mother Lee Y/N, an experienced journalist, singer and host of varying KBS programs. Thank you for welcoming us into your family.

How did you two first meet?

“I got hired at my first journalist job and was asked to interview the EMK Company when they first put on the musical ‘Xcalibur.’ Seok was one of the final actors to be interviewed.”

Seokmin laughs thinking about how that day had planned out for him. “It was so embarrassing. I had just finished a Seventeen schedule, so I had to run from the studio straight to the theatre all sweaty and as soon as I saw her my eyes went wide in disbelief.”

“Disbelief?” You presented him a questionable look.

“Yeah, I couldn’t understand how on Earth God let one of his most beautiful angels come to and bless me with her presence.”

Quickly place your hands over your cheeks to cover the embarrassing redness from showing up on the camera. “Ah stop, you’re making me blush. There’s no way you thought that.”

“Did too,” he pouts while insisting, “that’s why I was so awkward and nervous during the interview. Even more so when I asked for your number and you said yes. Every day since then has almost been like a dream.” He receives his hand in yours caressing the back of your hand with his thumb lovingly.

When did you realize you wanted to get married?

“Oof, that’s a good question.” nodding enthusiastically before turning to your husband, “Did you want to go first?”

“Sure. I would say it was during one of our late-night pillow talks, and we started talking about the future. I had never had a relationship where we openly spoke about it.”

He stares at your eyes lovingly, his lips producing a smile as he spoke. “ With Y/N, we both discussed the idea of an apartment, kids and a dog. It was the first time someone ever reciprocated the same hopes and dreams I wanted.”

You gasp, surprised by his answer. “Are you some kind of mind reader? I was thinking the same thing.” You grasp his hand to hold before showing it off to the camera. “We really have the best teamwork.”

How did you react when Seol-Hee was born?

“Y/N and I had been trying for a baby for almost a year straight and almost gave up.” You squeeze his hand reassuringly before picking up from where he spoke.

You smile at him before speaking towards the camera. “We tried one more time, before deciding to take a break. In some twist of fate, I got pregnant.”

“The months leading up to her birth were stressful mostly because Seventeen was preparing for a comeback.” He explains, getting exhausted just by the memory of that day.

“It was during a performance Y/N had called my manager saying that her water broke.”

“When we finally got to hold her in our arms that day, it was almost as if all the worry and doubt had left my body and was replaced by the love that I had always longed to feel.” You look down at your daughter, who had managed to fall asleep on your lap during the interview.

What can the viewers look forward to with your family?

“Being in an idol group as well as musical theatre has definitely influenced my own family. There isn’t a time where either Y/N and I or even Seol-Hee aren’t singing, laughing or cracking the cheesy jokes.”

He utters a chuckle as he speaks. “We hope you enjoy the silliness of our quirky family.”
