7. Eden Climbing

We lived in Lalaguda, which is a suburb of Secunderabad. Our house was built in a colony next to railway quarters. The railways quarters had a very green campus with about 3 parks in the vicinity. I used to walk from inside the campus on my way to school and I was familiar with the route inside the campus.

My uncles lived about 100 meters away from my home. They lived in a two-story building. They had about five rooms, two on the ground floor with a big hall and three rooms on the first floor. They had a beautiful terrace with the view of railways tracks.

On March 12th, 1984 I finally turned 18. I had been waiting for this day for a very long time. I started thinking about how I should escape. I planned everything I would do on that day. I packed my clothes in a bed-sheet, so that no one would know what I was up to. I though I would run away at night once my parents were asleep. Our house had a gate built in the front yard and it made a lot of noise, so I decided to climb and jump from the wall beside it and run towards the railway quarters. The campus had a back-gate which led towards the railway station close by.

Around 9:30 pm in the evening, I went towards the hallway to check if my parents were asleep. I couldn’t hear any noise. I tip toed towards the door with my clothes bundled in the bed-sheet. As I tried to unlatch the door, I heard the click of a switch and the lights turned on. It was my father holding a belt to hit me. I started screaming ‘sorry!’. He beat me up with the belt, held me in his strong hands and threw me on the bed. He locked my door and didn’t let my mother open it for the entire night and the next day. After the next day, he unlocked my door and warned me not to try and run away again. I promised him that I will not try to run again.

via Today Bharat nbsp; The pilot, 30-year-old Bharat Bhushan, a resident of Delhi, is pursuing aviation training at the Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy at Begumpet. A major mishap was averted after a training aircraft flying from Begumpet airport crashed into a field in Mokila village near Hyderabadrsquo;s Shankarpally on Wednesday. While the pilot escaped with minor injuries, the left wing of the aircraft suffered heavy damage and came apart, according to the police. Police have not ascertained how the accident took place and havenrsquo;t registered a case yet. According to the Shankarpally police, the pilot, 30-year-old Bharat Bhushan, a resident of Delhi, is pursuing aviation training at the Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy at Begumpet. He landed the out-of-control flight at Mokila at around 11 am. In the incident, the pilot suffered injury to his left eye. nbsp; Speaking to TNM, Shankarapally CI, N Lingaiah, said, ldquo;We are not sure what happened to the flight. We suspect that the aircraft developed some technical snag. A major accident was averted as the flight landed in a field when no one was around. Only the pilot suffered minor injuries.rdquo; The Inspector further added, ldquo;We are checking with the aviation academy. We havenrsquo;t registered a case yet,rdquo; he said. In a similar incident last year in October, an aircraftrsquo;s door fell off in a residential area in Lalaguda near Secunderabad and then crashed into a building. Fortunately, there were no casualties and no one suffered injuries. The plane was operated by the Telangana State Aviation Academy. Following this, the Director General of Civil Aviation launched an investigation into the incident. The results of this inquiry have not been made known yet. In September 2017, an Indian Air Force training aircraft had crashed near Hyderabad and the entire aircraft was engulfed in fire.
