It was the most difficult hike in my last Norway trip! Hiking trail lies on the mountains top, so you need to climb up first 2+h strenuously till you reach snow and clouds🌨 Then you will get a chance to enjoy some insane views from the top and continue hike there. In this shot there are two lakes (Gjende left and Bessvatnet right) from both sides and both lakes located on different levels and if you get lucky, there are chance to see that both lakes have different water colours. Well, I wasn't so lucky this time, but still enjoyed so much!😎

Norway 2022 - Day 5 (Jotunheimen)
As expected, my legs were pretty sore from the hike yesterday. That and the fact that rain was in the forecast made me decide to take the bus to my next destination instead of hiking the ca. 25km to Gjendebu (the last boat from there to Memurubu was scheduled to leave at 4pm, and I didn't want that time pressure). So I took the bus back to Lom and sat down for a coffee and a kanelsnurr (cinnamon roll - I have to say, all the bread and pastries I've had in Norway have been so delicious 😋) while I waited for the next bus, which would take me to Gjendesheim.
The bus ride to Gjendesheim was very scenic, as was the boat ride from there to Memurubu. Then I walked from the dock to the nearby hut and checked in - I was the first person to arrive in the dormitory so I could choose my bed 😁 I'm sharing with seven other people, including two girls from Sweden who are planning to hike Besseggen tomorrow as well. It's rained on and off since I arrived, but I took a little walk along the shore of Gjende lake.
I really hope that it won't rain too much tomorrow, because I want to try going over Besseggen in semi-good conditions🤞🏽 If it's anywhere near as hard as hiking up Galdhøpiggen was I'm going to be dead tomorrow afternoon 💀

GJENDIN RIDGE (PG. 1)
Gjende (or Gjendin) is a lake in the Jotunheimen mountains in Norway's Jotunheimen National Park. The proglacial lake shows typical characteristics of glacial formation, being long and narrow, with steep walls—18 km in length and only 1.5 km in width at the broadest point. Gjende has a characteristic light-green color resulting from the large quantity of rock flour which is discharged into the Gjende by the Muru river. The river Sjoa provides the outlet from Gjende at Gjendesheim, and flows eastward into the Gudbrandsdalslågen river.
Gjende lies in the middle of Jotunheimen National Park and both to the north and south of the lake lie peaks greater than 2,000 m. There are numerous staffed tourist cabins maintained by the Norwegian Mountain Touring Association (DNT); in the west end lies Gjendebu, on the north side lies Memurubu and on the east end lies Gjendesheim. In the summer boats provide transport between these locations.
