Passionflowers didn't always bloom in solitude, you know. Somewhere along the line, as chances of survival in this world grew evermore harsh, it turned to consuming its brethren— just as many other plants would prey on another. Now? Its crown of spiny filaments can only serve as thorns do—as the spikes along a hedgehog’s back do; if only to prevent others from getting too close, and sliding into this aching hunger.

@vaultureculture you know the deal 🙂‍↕️ arguably my favourite, though it's hard to pick favourites, you just did such an excellent job at balancing the sundews and passionflowers!

also yes there are sundews on there. is it a flower? nope. but the sundews are just so tantamount to them ok you can never see them without it. lachesis when they inherit atropos' eternal hunger and malice AND a need for kindness and intimacy: 🤯🤯🤯🤯
