AYANO!!

If I remember it well (I probably dont, because its been years since I last read something about the plot), the whole Kagerou project started because of her family, and she was who let her parents and the children they were experimemting with get along, as most of them would be scared by their powers, and of suddenly being taken to a lab. I would too tbh.

But later, one day, she basically threw herself off a building 😃 (we learn why later, but nobody knew why at that time).

So, she really went on like that meme that says "gonna end myself in front of you and forever change the trajectory of your lives", specially with our protagonist which was a normal kid with a crush. This traumatized him deeply indeed, making him a loner (TM), which was what made his sister (one of the lab kids) make her think "hey, wanna join our therapy group?". And he rejected her at first, but in the end, they all still kinda bonded together because of Ayano. Which is really sad... but basically yeah, she created the whole plot. She is the plot, at least at the start (and later, a pretty central part of it, kinda?), basically by dying, just to get powers. 👍

Tbh if this was an AITA she would be the asshole. But DAMN she haunted the narrative. She is just mentioned every time it is possible.

Haunting the Narrative Round 1

Haunting the narrative means that the character’s absence heavily impacts the plot. They’re not present when their influence is most strongly felt, whether they’re alive or dead!

Phil: *learning stuff from reading files on a computer in the lab the two kinda just broke into, even though it did get blown up so it’s not exactly breaking into it*

Phil: *telling Sam all this stuff and figuring out what was happening*

Sam, who was one of the people experimemted on: Really? Never would’ve guessed. Shocking.
