Sorry for the late reply but I kinda, uh, got inspired @demigodseameg16…~She had no idea what set him off, what caused Adrien to snarl and storm out before any of them could stop him. Of course, Lila tried to spin it around that it was all Marinette’s doing, but her amazing friends were quick to remind the ‘sweet’ classmate that Marinette hadn’t even been in the room, let alone there when he was talking with Lila and Miss Bustier. She sent him a text to offer an ear to listen, but he only sent back a quick ‘I’m sorry, I need some time to think’, before he went silent again.At least it was more than the class got.And now, three days later and not a word from him, they all weren’t sure if it was because of him actively avoiding them or because of his father. Either way, the Summer Dance they were planning was here and they needed to make sure the outdoor space the restaurant, La Terrasse De L'Etang, let them used was prettied up for the event. Nino, Kim, Alix, Alya, Ivan, and even Chloe were there to help her set up, along with some parents and teachers and other class representatives and /their/ teams, and ensure all was perfect for that night.“I just wish I was able to reach out to him, Alya,” she sighs, adjusting the strung up lights, “what happened when I went to the bathroom? He just went up to talk with Miss Bustier with Lila in tow, all of us were working on our sheets or just talking, it’s already the end of the school year, when we just hear a growl come from that giant ball of sunshine!” She shook her head, her curls tousling across her shoulders, “Honestly, I’ve never seen him so upset.”She could feel Tikki press reassuringly to her side, making her lips quirk up into a smile; even though he was likely upset, it seemed Hawkmoth was temporarily off duty, no one had seen a single butterfly in nearly two weeks, so at least Adrien would be able to ride out his emotions healthily. But with no Hawkmoth, Chat Noir had been missing too, so she couldn’t check-up on her favorite kitty-cat. “I’ll text him one last time when we’re all finished and getting ready.”~The glittering of the fairy lights shone brightly through the trees, across the rails, and all over the edge of the roofline, twinkling brightly in the night as the students of Dupont partied in celebration for Summer Break! Food was served earlier, drinks were closely watched and kept safe by way of teachers and parents alike, and all was perfectly coming together. Marinette breathed in before she released a happy sigh, body releasing tension as she admired the lake out before her, the forest around her quiet save for the occasional jogger.“It’s so beautiful out, we really were smart following Chloe’s advice.” Her lips lift at the thought, the cool breeze lifting some of the curls from her shoulders. Her lips turned down though, as another two blonds entered her mind, “I hope he’s okay, Nino said Adrien texted him an hour ago about coming.… And Tikki’s been a little quiet about what she heard from Plagg earlier….” The ancient kwami had been a surprise to them both, worried for the black cat wielder, but he assured them everything was fine.“What’s our everyday ladybug doing out in the night by herself?” A voice whispered close to her ear, a grinning face greeting her as she spun to face her crush.“Adrien!” She squeals, red across her cheeks but leaping up to hug him close, his arms warmly wrapping around her, “We were worried you weren’t going to be here, where were you? What happened? I mean, I know there was a fight at school but there wasn’t any Akuma but Hawkmoth’s been pretty silent for a while, so I know you weren’t akumatized, but we were scared for you. And with how much your dad threatened you-!” Marinette knew she was running on without pause, but she couldn’t help it, they had been so worried for him!He places a finger on her lips, warmth practically radiating through him; unlike the summer heat that was only cooled from the lake nearby, his warmth was the kind people craved to be near, it felt like home. “Shh…I’m sorry for being gone. I just needed to calm down and think things over, I’m sorry for the worry I caused.”She relaxed, simply glad he wasn’t in any trouble.Adrien grinned, taking a small step back to take in the vision she made before him, “You look beautiful, more than usual.” He noted her blush with glee, his decision for that night held firm in his mind at it. “Another original, I see…”It was a peachy pink, with delicate little straps holding it up, that flowed down in breezy layers of chiffon, melting down into a warm cream at the bottom, with delicate golden beads and golden flowers and little red blooms of silk decorating it. “It suits you.” Her hair was carefully braided to the back of her head, the midnight locks mostly pinned back.She smiles, lifting the hem of her gown, spotting the flash of her signature made to look like a golden branch, “It took work, but I had this already in the works. I like yours too. Suit! N-Not Dress, of course, be-because you’d be wearing a suit and not a dress, n-not that there’s anything wrong with wearing dresses but-,” she took a deep breath in before releasing it, forcing her panic to leave, “your suit looks great too.”The whole ensemble with fairly all black with bursts of gold, but the color lied mostly in the glossy sea-green tailcoat: black boots with golden clasps lead up to tailored black trousers; golden leaf-like pins settled on his hips, clasped to the front and back on each side so thin gold chains hung off the sides; a black-near green collared shirt covered his upper body with the top three buttons undone; and the glossy sea-green tailcoat topped it off, lined in gold with golden leaves embroidered to the front.It wasn’t Gabriel brand by a long shot, but it suited him well.“This? Well,” he smiles, something mischievous flickering in his green eyes, “one of my mother’s friends had it done for me. I actually,” he turned his gaze back to her, his cheeks growing warm as he brought out a red, velvet box, opening it to reveal a gold necklace with a small ruby pendant at the center, “I asked if they could make you this.”“Adrien! I-I, I can’t, this should go to your girlfriend,” the necklace was beautiful and simple, the jewel glittering under the fairy lights, “a-and I’m not sure Kagami’s here or-.”“Actually, we’re not going out.” He tells her, taking the necklace out of the box, “And actually, I wanted to ask if you would be mine? I’ve been blind in the past, Marinette, but I know that I love you. You’re funny, you’re smart, you make me smile when I feel like hell, you’re clumsy and graceful, and you kick my ass at video games. Please say you’re mine?”Awed, Marinette feels her heart leap at the tender confession, tearing up as she nods, “I’d love to be yours.” She turns once he gestures to the necklace, feeling the cool metal settle against her skin. “It’s so beautiful.”“You’re beautiful,” he whispers, drawing back as he offers her his hand, “May I have this dance?” The cool breeze danced around them, their eyes locked as she takes his hand, the gentle notes of the next song playing, jazz filtering out from the indoor space.They rocked to the lulling beats, Adrien’s voice tickling across her ear, “ I put a spell on you, and now you’re mine.” She could feel him smiling as she giggled, “You can’t stop the things I do. I ain’t lyyyyyin’.”Why did they have the American movie version on? It was nowhere near Halloween.“It’s been two wonderful years, right down to the day,” he twirls her, drawing back so they could gaze to each other, were eyes always so bright? “Now the fae is back and there’s hell to pay.” His words felt absolute, like a heavy promise, but she couldn’t look away….“I put a spell on you and now you’re miiiiiine.” He whispered, lifting her chin up, brushing their lips together, her heart racing. From excitement?Adrien smiles, watching her grow tranquil with his hold on her, “I put a spell on you and now you’re gone.” He brushes a tender thumb over her cheek, so very glad he would be able to take her away from this plane, she was much better suited for their realm than this one. “My voice flowed down on you and it was strong.”His mind turned to Lila, to Chloe, to anyone who had ever dared to hurt what was his, “”Their wretched little lives have all been cursed, ‘cause of all the faes working,” he leans down to her, her eyes turning a beautiful glossy tone, “I’m the worst.”She was his, she said so.“I put a spell on you and now you’re mine.” He sung softly, finally kissing her forehead. “Let’s go home.”~
