Last movie watched

The Handmaiden 🤍 seeing this poster for the first time activated something in my brain and I’ve been meaning to watch it since. So glad I finally got around to it

Currently Reading

Just finished this one last night in bed: for how much people were talking about it, I was really expecting The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo to be better than it was. It was an enjoyable read, but I definitely think the beginning and middle (which had me hooked) were its strongest parts. By the end I couldn’t bring myself to care for most of the characters, and the ones I did like felt flat and one-note. Evelyn was a very charismatic protagonist, but I wasn’t pulled in by her development over the course of her life & the novel.

Again, I still enjoyed the book. I think it’s a great beach read. I got it done in about 5-6 hours of reading - very manageable.

Ci sono quei momenti in cui le cose significano qualcosa e senti le parole che da concetti astratti diventano immagini concrete

Ascolto i baustelle e sento l'italia

Quel colore tra l'arancione e il rosso, una sfumatura di mattone

Che va tutto male e tutto bene, ce la caviamo

Le sporcature, la vita alla bell'e meglio

Quella parte di gioventú ormai non piú

Il divario di benessere, gli universitari, Bologna, i trentenni, gli impiegati con la valigietta e una situazione economica confortevole e gli operai nella stessa fabbrica dall'adolescenza

Il dissenso comune per la classe politica, per motivi diversi, ma lo spirito è lo stesso

Gli spritz e i vinelli al bar con le patatine e il giornale al bar della piazza

Gli ideali traditi e le promesse non mantenute

I battibecchi sul cibo, il nord e il sud, mia nonna e tua madre, il vicino di casa

le spiaggie stipate, le borse frigo, il ferragosto

Azzurro, Celentano

Con l'acqua alla gola, ma è un bel mare
