(i've made and entire au in my head where they only had a two year age gap, met each other at wammy's house, became childhood friends, Tierry being the only kid L wanted to play with, became highschool sweethearts or the equivallent of high school to Wammy's House, something happens and they are separated from each other for a few years, lose contact, find each other again when L recruits him, go back to being boyfriends after some time, then there's the Kira case, they promise to get married if they survive. In the au that they survive the Kira case and L wins, they get married and live happily ever after. The other is angst filled.)
