You quickly texted Bob and told him that something must have happened at school today. And when he got home, he headed right toward where she was sitting reading.

"Hey, sweetie. How was school," he asked, kissing the top of her head. She immediately burst into tears and wrapped her arms around his neck. "It's okay," Bob crooned, letting her cry.

He glanced at you, but you just shrugged. Until she started gushing to her dad about what was wrong.

"Am I a nerd?" she asked him through her tears. "Addison and Kylie told me I'm a nerd because I like math class and I have to wear glasses. They told me only nerds can't see right. And I told them my dad wears glasses and he's the coolest person I know."

Bob adjusted her glasses on her nose and wiped away some of the tears. "You're not a nerd, sweetie. You like math class because you're smart. And just look at mommy. She doesn't wear glasses at all, and you and I are much cooler than she is."

You watched your daughter nod very seriously as she swiped at the remaining tears. "That's actually exactly what I was thinking. We are a lot cooler than she is."

You bit your lip and kept quiet, willing to be the butt of the joke on her behalf.

"Don't listen to those kids. You're smart and perfect and so so cool," Bob promised her.

“It was his idea, that’s the craziest part. I used to cover this song in my live set, on and off, over the years. The first time I met him, he said, ‘Oh, I heard you cover that, that Ned Sublette song,’ who was the original writer. I was like, ‘Yeah, I do.’ And he’s like, ‘You know, we should, we should do that song as a duet. We should bring it back because it’s so important now more than ever.

“We were having this conversation around the time Roe v. Wade was about to be overturned and the Supreme Court was doing all this crazy stuff and trying to roll back all these things.’ Willie is such an activist and such an outlaw really. It was very deliberate on his part that he felt like it was an important song for us to do together, which is the coolest thing ever to hear.”

Willie Nelson first covered the Neb Sublette song in 2006, after the release of Brokeback Mountain.

Get to know me!

First off, I want to say that I am super excited to have a platform where I can anonymously talk, vent, or talk about my life without people getting in my business. I don't know about anyone else but that is a huge relief. I also get to tell stories about things that happen in my life, for your guy's entertainment, and trust me you're going to want to hear some of the crazy stuff that goes on. Let me tell you a bit about myself:)

First, I am staying anonymous but for the time being you can call me Lu. I am a high school student in the town I've grown up in. I don't technically do any sports anymore; however, I am involved in cheer which I have been doing since the ripe years of middle school (and boy do I have stories about that). And I have a pretty close circle of friends, not a ton (or at least real ones lol) and I'll tell you a little about them now. First, we have my two closest friends, Hallie and Kylie. I know both of them from school. I met Kylie freshman year of high school and Hallie this year, also known as sophomore year. They're both great friends and honestly not much happens between me and Hallie. I mean we are best friends so pretty much any of the drama we talk about is about other people. Kylie however has a lot of drama in her life and unfortunately for me she involves me in it.

This weeks guest is the coolest guy in Australian Radio, Dave Holleran, or simply Davo. His music taste is very wide, but also very good.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Radio Broadcaster & Music Director, living in Queensland. Head of Music Programming at Rebel FM & The Breeze Radio Networks for the past 11 years. I’ve been in radio for 20+ years, as well as working in various other roles in Print Media, Television & the greater music Industry.

What bands did you listen to growing up?

It all starts with The Beatles & Bowie, add in 90’s alt rock, hip hop & major lashings of early 00’s dance music & it all lends itself to the greater hodge podge that is my music tastes.

How and why did you get into radio djing?

I’d completed a trade & spent so much time listening to radio & music. I always thought gee, I could do that gig but never had the guts to try. One day after bungee jumping off a cliff, the fear of heights and the fear that had held me back from doing something about it vanished. I quit my very well paid job, went to radio school & never looked back. (** occasionally I look back lovingly at that high paid job)

You work for rebel fm, How did this come about?

I was doing demo shows for a few major australia radio stations & my style/ their style/s weren’t glueing together. I drove home from the studios one night and saw a church sign that quoted The Stones. “ Ya can’t always get what ya want, but if ya try sometimes, ya might find ya get what ya need ”. I saw a job ad for Rebel the next day, applied, the rest is history.

What was the first, best and worst concert you attended?

First was either 1927 or Kylie Minogue, both big faves of my Mum.

Best is a tie - Billy Joel (Rod Laver) Bloc Party (Splendour 07)

Flaming Lips/Portishead (Harvest Fest 11)

Worst, Bob Dylan twice, both so awful I left.

What bands and festivals are still on your bucket lists to see live?

Bowie sadly aint gonna happen! PrimaVera Sound in Barcelona is!

What do you think of the Australian music scene?

Vibrant,underrated

Who are the biggest bands from Australia over the last 2 decades?

Parkway Drive, Powderfinger, Jet, The Vines, Silverchair, Wolfmother. From a personal taste perspective I’d add Violent Soho & DZ Deathrays into the mix.

What bands would you like to see reform( dead or alive members?

Violent Soho, Velociraptor. Heaps more Brisbane bands mainly, bands that shaped my youth or were just good mates playing good tunes.

If you were stuck on an island with only one album, what would you pick?

Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band .. A Day In The Life on repeat ..
