So for a while now I’ve been wanting to experiment with inking stuff on paper and then attempting to digitally color it. With Sike Saner’s permission,  Esaax gets to be my first proper attempt at this.

The outline’s a little messy because of course, but I think I’ve got the process of extracting the actual inked line in a paint program down pretty well now to get a clean transparent layer with solid black outline. Next step (tomorrow), making a couple more little edits to it and then adding a splash of color.

This isn’t a scene as such, but it is an effortful drawing that may take a few days, so! This is (the very roughest beginnings of) Sike Saner’s Esaax, who is a Kwazai, this delightfully Xenomorph-like Wobbuffet fan evolution, being drawn as a prize for the Missing Mod Madness event on Serebii! If you ever wanted to make me (or some of the other, more talented volunteer artists) draw your character, all you have to do is sign up and review at least five fanfics.
