Just found these photos! 🤩 (here a few more)
"Let there be love" @ Tricycle theatre - London, 2008.
Also, some reviews:
"Maria, his Polish home help, is his salvation. An oddball obsessed with Ikea and Madonna's Like a Virgin, she is also kind, credible and utterly endearing. It is a wonderfully written part, brilliantly brought to life by Lydia Leonard. She is physically lively without being annoying (tricky on stage), in a performance that radiates human warmth and even a bit of saintliness." (x)
"The sensational Lydia Leonard as Maria has a wonderful accent with that open delivery of one not being ashamed to voice what she really believes is right. She seems too good to be true but she actually is that good and generous natured. " (x)
"Lydia Leonard plays Maria with boundless energy and perfect Polish accent. Somehow she conveys the cyclical nature of struggle and hurt in her past whilst also exuding boundless joy and selflessness." (x)

Charles Rowland Character Study!
tw for mentions of the AIDS crisis/Charles' father/internalized homophobia
There was a shadow looming over Charles’ shoulders from the very first memories he has. His father and his words and his belt on one side, and a disease on the other. A disease that everyone said was a punishment.
To be queer, to like boys, was to die young and painful, to be wrong, to be corrupting. To invite death in.
The shadow is large. It is looming. It has been there since Charles was eight-years-old, throwing its weight over every corner of his life.
The disease is proof that something in Charles is wrong. That his father was right. That Charles would never be able to live up to his father’s expectations, because something would always be wrong with him, because yeah, he likes girls, but there is something in him that always looked a little too long at the curve of muscles, the swing of a cricket bat, the curve of Hasan’s mouth as he gave a presentation.
The first time that anyone brings any sort of relief, any sort of light, is when a ghost hands Charles a lantern. The first time that anyone lifts any corner of the shadow is when a boy who flicks his body and gestures in a way that would have gotten him bullied spends the night with Charles, brings him safety and comfort and life.
(A canon-compliant Charles character study regarding his internalization of homophobia during the '80s due to his father and the ongoing AIDS crisis and the connection between death, life, and light.)
The song:

“Disney’s Hercules”
Theatre: Paper Mill Playhouse
Run: Feb. 16th - March 19th, 2023
It’s a terrific twist of fates! The inspired Disney animated film is now a mythical new musical adventure. Hercules is the divinely funny story of an honest-to-Zeus hero on a quest to discover who he is and where he belongs. Is love a possibility too? Oh, Hades, yes! The roof-raising score by Alan Menken and David Zippel features all the hits you love from the film, including the Oscar®-nominated song “Go The Distance,” as well as “Zero to Hero” and “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love),” along with new songs written for the stage. The show features a new book by Tony Award® winner Robert Horn (Tootsie) and Kwame Kwei-Armah (artistic director of London’s Young Vic), and direction by Obie Award-winning Lear deBessonet.

Disney's Hercules will play London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane beginning summer 2025.
This would appear to be the Hamburg staging, with both director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw and choreographer Tanisha Scott returning to work on the London production.
The musical features a book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, music by Alan Menken, and lyrics by David Zippel.
I believe this is the first Disney musical since Mary Poppins to have a West End run without having first played Broadway. Whether Disney will give Hercules a Broadway run at all at this point remains to be seen.

A Face in The Crowd
Based on the original story and screenplay by Budd Schulberg and the Warner Bros, film
Music and Lyrics by Elvis Costello and Book by Sarah Ruhl
dir. Kwame Kwei-Armah
Young Vic
