Some info about the Third One!
- The Third One is a beast that used to live in a strange land called Curiah. It is a type of beast called an Origin Curian. While Origin Curians went endangered due to factors such as urbanization and them being captured for research, the previously known two remaining Origin Curians’ whereabouts were already known. The Third One hatched much later, and so it was able to be hidden in a mountain range reserve.
- The Third One is fully sentient and able to communicate with others easily. However, it is a little reclusive. It is looked after by a man named Keeper Sacchan, who seems to be the only person that it communicates with.
- It has taken interest in technology imported from Earth. When Sacchan implored it to take a modern Curian form (a more humanoid one), it was incentivized to agree because of how a humanoid form would allow them better use of this technology.
- The name of “the Third One” is an epithet more than a name. Under a humanoid form, it began using the name it was supposed to have, Kori Omoide. When eventually banished to Earth, this form was lost until it was reawakened with Kori’s return to Curiah. A crack appeared on her face (matching the one the Third One has), which grew larger until she shifted back into the Third One. This only lasts for so long until she goes back to her human form. When she is stressed or agitated, the crack grows, and she gets closer to shifting back into the Third One temporarily again.
- The Third One is about 5ft tall, including ears. Humans can ride on its back, but the gait of an Origin Curian’s six legs feels like a wave and may cause motion sickness.
- The muzzle shown in the second design is one that was placed on it when it was injured and needed to be stitched up. While it wasn’t conscious for this, those around it were concerned it would wake up and lose control. While Kori said she didn’t think she would lose control in that form, it is currently unknown whether the Third One, shifting from a buildup of Kori’s stress, would be in a calm enough state to retain control in this way.
- The body looks to have fur, but its body is covered in rigid structures of scales. Only the fur inside the ears, the top of the neck crest, and the four tufts of fur over the face are mammal-like fur; both Origin and modern Curians seem to be a combination of cold-blooded and warm-blooded. The scales may have helped protect Origin Curians in the rocky landscapes of Curiah, especially the mountains and deserts there. It is unknown if those that lived in the boreal regions were specialized for that area, but it is also known that various small dragons used to occupy that part of the world, so Origin Curians may not have had a niche to fill there.
- As its blood is black and shimmering, the gradient of black occurs where the scales are thin. As this isn’t present in the other two remaining Origin Curians, the late hatching of the Third One may contribute to the scales being more transparent in these places.

Some notes about Kori’s cafe uniform!
-For context, Kori is one of two owners of a cafe in the city Myrios. A relatively small cafe with a brick exterior and ivy growing on the building, she had the cafe for two years, and only closed it for about a month for renovations once. For those first two years, the only full-time staff were herself and her best friend, Phecda Shioto, before hiring more staff in the summer of 2025.
- Kori honestly has the most simple cafe uniform. A white button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, black pants, and a black tie, this is pretty much the default uniform. Others tend to add extra components (like Phecda’s gloves and apron, or Goodwin’s skirt and nylons), but it seems Kori doesn’t want the fuss of making her morning routine any more complicated than necessary.
- I’ve always drawn her with wedges in her sneakers. I think it’s because I used to give everyone high heels, but honestly I think wedge sneakers suit Kori well. She doesn’t have a complex about her height despite being short, but I think she would find them more comfortable. Either way, she does a lot of walking and she hasn’t complained about them, so they’ll stick around.
- Kori’s own coffee preferences surprisingly aren’t why she started a cafe; it was actually Phecda who suggested the idea. However, Kori does rely on coffee a lot (even before becoming addicted to a strawberry coffee flavoring additive distributed by the company Ares), and at the time she preferred black coffee. She hates cappuccinos. Somehow (maybe due to the addictive nature), she doesn’t mind the sweeter or thicker coffee that the strawberry flavoring creates.
- She is notably a better hostess at her job than her usual more aloof demeanor, although her eyes are still ‘scary’ to her coworkers. As a boss she has a dry sense of humor and a slight irritation with customer service -- not that customers will ever see that side of her on the job.
Reservations for two?

Back again for some more design note stuff!
- Only Soru (left)’s outfit is canon, this is his work uniform. He is the mayor of the city Myrios and the owner of a technology company called Ares, and this suit is the one he wears for public appearances. When he’s actually working he usually wears a sweater he knit himself, but he likes to keep up professional appearances too much to let the public know that.
- Kori’s (right) outfit is either non-canon or post-canon. She eventually takes over Soru’s role, but mostly as a symbolic figurehead only -- she puts most of her attention to her cafe and lets the Ares staff manage the rest. However, she does like her silly little outfits, so she absolutely would wear a company suit on the days she goes into the office.
- The marking on Kori’s face is one that she gets at the end of her story, so this version of her is the late-to-post-canon version of her.
- The device on Soru’s hip is the operation terminal for the hologram profile system that exists in the city, which his company developed. Kori’s phone, with a company phone case here, has the hologram profile system app open.
- The Ares company colors are white and bright blue, but the uniforms for the higherups are black and gold. All higherups at the company have the company gold tie, but aren’t expected to wear it (or wear it properly). In practice, the uniforms are mostly for appearances, as many staff with important roles swap out parts of the uniform or modify it unless they are to be seen by the public. Lower positions or individual departments aren’t expected to wear a uniform.
- Soru’s main color (blue) has been reincorporated into his work outfit with his dark blue belt. Kori’s (red) has been reincorporated through the pocket square and the tie clip.

Kioku notes!!
- Kioku is Kori Omoide’s catfish persona. The entire reason Kioku exists is because Kori thinks it’s responsible to catfish a scientist for his help. Because of this, not only did Kioku need to be visually distinct so said scientist wouldn’t recognize her Immediately, but also this quite possibly may be the only way Kori is willing to let herself act in a flirtatious manner.
- Kioku Kyuurei is supposedly a former idol. This is a lie she thought of upon first hearing the name of her disguise, and thinking it would be more fitting for an idol debut than a convincing pseudonym (not that she has a track record of more convincing names, if the name Marun Ookami is anything to go by).
- Kioku’s design is actually Kori’s old design from 2014-2015. While Kori’s main design is closer to her 2013 design, for a while her hair was smoother and she wore predominantly black/gray/blue rather than black/red/gold like her first and final iterations.
- The main features that distinguish Kioku from Kori are her somewhat wavy hair (as Kori keeps her hair often more rough), and her makeup (as Kioku wears more than Kori usually does, because Kori hates the feeling of heavy makeup near her eyes). The blue contact lenses also distinguish Kioku in this way.
- While Kori’s suspicious and dry internal monologue is still present with Kioku, outwardly Kioku acts more flirtatious, complimentary, and polite. She also is somewhat bolder, and rather than her usual nervousness and desire to avoid Situations, she is willing to instigate them as Kioku.
- The back of the jacket has the decal reading 9-0 on it. The nine and zero are somewhat a joke on 9 (”kyuu”) and zero (”rei”) respectively. As this is a jacket Phecda had given Kori to disguise herself with from his theatre stuff, his suggestion of an alias for her may have partially come from that decal, which likely was just a way to keep track of his costume pieces. It is unknown who the previous owner of this coat is, but Phecda likely sewed it himself considering his sewing skills and the fact that it remained in his possession until Kori needed it. However, as the decal is only noted briefly and the meaning not elaborated, the true extent of the coat’s origins or the decal tagging it are merely speculation.
- The costume test took hours with Phecda’s and Tekuka’s help. The second time she wore it, it only took an hour to get it all on, get her makeup done, and have her hair curled and straightened to achieve the softer look.
She's ready to catfish someone <3

Since I’m finally drawing my characters more often now (I didn’t notice until picking up this extra style that I barely drew my OCs before), I think I’ll infodump about the designs or outfits under each post here. I haven’t really had a site to just infodump on since I left DA because of Eclipse, so here are some thoughts about Kori’s outfit here, which is her outfit for returning to the city Myrios at the end of Poison World.
- Canonically, the outfit was given to her by her friend Suzume. Whether it was bought for her or out of Suzume’s own wardrobe I can’t remember right now, but needless to say, it’s different from what Kori usually wears (sweaters or suits).
- This is Kori’s only outfit that shows her stitches. The larger wound was given to her by Dr. Garu Orochi (who tried to turn her into a cyborg) and stitched by Phantom, and the smaller ones were from being impaled by jagged metal rods, quite like the one she is holding. These ones were stitched by Suzume’s partner Sho, because he finished veterinary school despite being a casino owner. The rod she’s holding is a beam that had impaled her, but she uses it as a crutch while she recovers.
- The cracking mark on her face appeared just before she crashed a coronation, and first appeared in response to her getting caught in an enchantment from a mural made to trap a beast called the Third One. When the crack fully expands down her face, she turns into this beast. While she was unaware of the first incident, it very well could happen again. It seems if she is irritated or provoked somehow, the crack gets bigger and she gets close to temporarily changing forms again.
- Though by this point her eyes have long since been gold (after changing from brown at the end of Poisoned Memories), her left eye lost its pupil when she turned back into the Third One. She apparently can see out of it just fine.
- The scarf is the remains of her favorite sweater, which got unfortunately burned in an electrical fire. Phantom sewed it into a scarf for her.
Showing off her stitches?
