I was looking forward to this episode and I'm so glad they kept Edward's pivotal moment...

...totally uncut. It's especially striking when a few other manga scenes didn't make it into the episode.

I know fans like to joke that Ed is too much of a good guy (and also gay), which is how he managed to reproduce Cheslock's cricket move, but that's not it :

Like Liz, Ed is a genius, even if he doesn't realize it yet. And I'm glad that Editor K commented on this anime bit with this :

According to Yana, Ed takes after Frances who takes after her dad, Cedric K. Ros--, so this means Ed takes after Cedric as well.

And yes. The new season is definitely made in 3D with 2D shader. So to these who doesn't know: there are modeled characters in 3D program and coloured in the way it reminds of 2D animation. So in every scene Sebastian and Ciel will have the same shape as modeled. The difference would be only the light and changing clothes.

Also I am so scared about Undertaker. His ethereal beauty is so easy to spoil.

This might be really petty, but have we ever had a Black Butler anime adaptation directed by a woman? I've been continuing my season 1 re-watch and some of the sexism that was there in the manga seems amplified, like with Lizzie obviously, but also Meena was written a lot worse, which is saying something, and just the lack of female characters in general. Like it’s really noticeable how many more female characters there are when you read the manga, even if Yana does usually seem more interested in the guys.

All this to say I would really like to see a Black Butler adaptation with a woman behind the helm, based on how many women work on the manga and the readership being majority girls/women. I can’t lie I’m a bit disappointed this season will be directed by a guy, because imo the Weston arc is camp and hilarious because it very much feels like a woman writing teenage boys and idk I just think it would capture that well if the project was lead by a woman.

It seems that Mr. Naoki Miyaji the secretary-general of the Japan Cricket Association and the person who helped Yana with the cricket tournament in the manga will be in charge of supervising the anime adaptation of the cricket matches too . Source

Are you watching the anime of Weston arc?

Hey Anon ! Not yet, but I just might later if the hype on my dash is high enough. ;)

Just kidding, I may not be a fan of the animated versions of Kuroshitsuji, but the Weston arc is one of my favorite arcs, so I'm both tempted and terrified, haha.

I miss the good old days, when the pace was better. Mostly I miss the funny vibes and seeing Ciel interacting with people close to his age. That's partly why I loved the Weston arc so much : it had everything and everyone, minus Sieglinde who would be introduced later.

Also it conveyed a pretty interesting world building idea which is that maybe Weston college’s board is related to some sort of dark society, half brainwashing well-born young men who might one day have an important position in politics and I dig the plot implication of that. :D

I'm actually wondering if the anime might give us more hints or answers on that one part and I might just watch to check it out... :)
