I'm sad Season 1 is over, but I'm glad that Season 2 is officially announced! Also it's wild that Season 1 covered the same amount of story as Season 1 of the original series, but in 6 fewer episodes, and they included MORE cute stuff in this one! I'm a big fan of Ranma and Akane liking each other as humans. In the first series, man...Ranma was an arrogant jerk most of the time and Akane seemed to be interested in him only because there was competition. This new series is a nice change of pace!

Many had observed that lately it seemed whenever one darkspawn was slain, three appeared to take its place. For Freydis, that had never felt more true than tonight. The strategy amongst the wolves had been to try to separate some of the horde, and in a momentary misjudgment Freydis found herself too far separated from her allies than what could reasonably be described as safe. In times like this, her ability to misty step came in handy. Not more than seven or eight yards before her she recognized the emblematic armor of a member of the Warrior’s Guild. That would be her destination–they both would be safer with someone to watch their back. Freydis inhaled, summoning the fey magic within her to transport herself to a space out ahead of her, but she would not have the chance. 

Whether it was a darkspawn that regained consciousness from amongst the pile of those assumed dead or it genuinely got the jump on Freydis, the veil maiden would never know. The sound of it backing contact with her was loud, splitting the momentary silence amongst the fallen horde and the defenders of Aventia regrouping to move on to the next throng. The great club connecting with her armor made a sound like the cracking of lightning, altered only by the sound of her breath leaving from her body by way of a shocked crying out. The force of the blow propelled Freydis no less than ten feet forward, and she rolled to a stop a yard beyond that. Disoriented and unable to draw in breath just yet, she struggled to tell the ground beneath her body from the hulking form of the genlock on its last leg limping toward her. Her mind swam and her vision swirled as she blindly pawed at the ground immediately surrounding her for her sword knowing all too well that the near-dead genlock would relish nothing more than using its dying breath to drag her from the world of the living along with it.
