Sar Agha Seyed Village

Located 130km from Shahrekord and 45km from Kuhrang County, Sar Agha Seyed is a monument in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran.

The village is well-known as the roofs of the houses below, are the yard of the houses above which is the same as Masouleh Village in Gilan Province but Sar Agha Seyed has a larger population and more houses. The houses are surrounded by the mountain.

The architecture of Masuleh #Irán is unique, its houses are arranged in a staggered manner on the slope. The roofs are flat and curiously, there are hardly any streets, to circulate, people use the roofs of the houses.

Sar Agha Seyed is a village in Miankuh-e Moguyi Rural District, in the Central District of Kuhrang County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. It is known for its unusual architecture. Its interconnected buildings are built into the surrounding mountain. The roofs of the buildings serve as courtyards and streets of the buildings above. Most of the homes have no windows and only one door.

The Kārun is Iran's most affluent and only navigable river. It is 950 km (590 mi) long. It rises in the Zard Kuh mountains of the Bakhtiari district in the Zagros Range, receiving many tributaries, such as the Dez and the Kuhrang, before passing through the capital of the Khuzestan Province of Iran, the city of Ahvaz before emptying to its mouth into Arvand Rud.

  The Karun continues toward the Persian Gulf, forking into two primary branches on its delta - the Bahmanshir and the Haffar - that join the Arvand Rud, emptying into the Persian Gulf. The important Island of Abadan is located between these two branches of the Karun. The port city of Khorramshahr is divided from the Island of Abadan by the Haffar branch.

Sar Aqa Seyyed (Persian: سراقاسيد‎, also Romanized as Sar Āqā Seyyed) is a village in Miankuh-e Moguyi Rural District, in the Central District of Kuhrang County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. روستای سراقاسید در شهرستان کوهرنگ At the 2006 census, its population was 1,360, in 208 families. Sar Aqa Seyyed is a village, located 130 kilometers from Shahr-e Kord and 45 kilometers northwest of Chelgard in the Central District of Kuhrang County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. According to an ISCA report, the architecture of Sar Agha Seyyed is popularly known as "The yard of the building above is the roof of the building below". The buildings have been built into the mountain and are interconnected. Both courtyards and roofs serve as pedestrian areas similar to streets. Homes in Sar Aqa Seyyed are believed to be at least 600 years old and most of them in the village do not have windows. The village is inhabited by 3,000 Bakhtiari nomads. Due to the mild weather, the best time to visit is late spring and early summer. This mountainous village, that is about 130 km from Shahrekord and 200 km from Isfahan, and its lush vegetation have turned the village into a great destination for those who wish to experience the simple lifestyle. Hello everyone I'm Roohi and I live in Sar Agha Seyed Village.I just writed this review to tell you about our village and myself. Nowadays, it can be a dream to have an opportunity to visit a village which has kept its traditions. Sar Agha Seyed village is one of the rare villages which traveling there will give you this chance to have a local experience and traditional life style with villagers. Imagine, historical village with stone houses laying on the steep between mountains, houses on top of houses, kids running around from one roof top to another, or an old lady is baking bread and smell of fresh bread on wood fire will take you back in time. Sar Agha Seyed” is 2500 meters above the sea level and is located on one of the foothills of “Haft Tanan” summit in the central part of Kuhrang County and 130 kilometers from Shahre Kord in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province. Its houses are from adobe and windows and doors of all houses open to the green nature and Imam Zadeh “Agha Seyed”. However, most of the houses of Sar Agha seyed are windowless and the doors are the only openings of the houses. Sar Agha Seyed is a village with mountainous and cascade architecture which is known as Zagros Masooleh. However, despite maintaining its originality, its name has been rarely heard among cascade villages. But who we are?
