so kristjan gave an interview today via zoom and to sum up that interview:
he is still hoping to compete in the large hill comp but that would be a bonus for him, the main focus is the rest of the season.
he now has mild symptoms (stuffy nose and sore throat) but otherwise he feels fine.
he had talked through this scenario with the doctors and coaches before but still it was a sore pill to swallow. especially since he had been so careful for two years.
the food has improved.
he tries to keep his regime as normal as possible so when he gets out his body wouldn't be shocked.
the walls are very thin so he can hear every move. the "hotel" is packed with people.
riiber is living right underneath his room and jarl likes to tap on the ceiling.
they facetime every day.
he was more shocked to hear about jarl's positive test than his own as he thought jarl was gonna take three golds from these games.

With another win this weekend, Johannes Lamparter becomes the WC leader. His teammate, Franz-Josef Rehrl finishes on his season’s best 3rd place, while Kristjan Ilves once again takes 2nd spot on podium

2. Kristjan Ilves (EST) 🇪🇪
3. Franz-Josef Rehrl (AUT) 🇦🇹
Oh no, Kristjan Ilves tested positive for Covid in Beijing💔
He has done everything in the last three years for this moment. He (and his family and federation) spent tonnes of money to be able to train with the Norwegian team for years FOR THIS MOMENT! FUCK OFF!🤬💔

Kristjan Ilves leads after the jump, but it’s Jarl Magnus Riiber who wins the race. Jens Lurås Oftebro finishes in third, not letting local hero, Ilkka Herola, go past him
1. Jarl Magnus Riiber (NOR) 🇳🇴
2. Kristjan Ilves (EST) 🇪🇪
3. Jens Lurås Oftebro (NOR) 🇳🇴
and the hits keep on coming, as kristjan ilves gave a postive covid test and they are waiting for the result for the second and third test.
the ct-count was borderline aka it could’ve been negative or postive and if he gives two negative results then he can compete. (if not -> quarantine hotel)
update: all three tests were positive which means he's gonna go to the quarantine hotel ;-;
Love that the Norwegian sports studio is so excited about Kristjan’s podium, as if it’s our own🤗 The Norwegian coach Ivar Stuan is like “that’s my boy!”
He also talked about how he remembers Kristjan being so down and depressed a few seasons ago, without any hope for the future, and then he started the cooperation with the Norwegian team and has finally come closer to reaching his full potential 🙌
