SPN Poetry Month Day 7. Ahhhh this one is actually my favourite! Siobhan and Kristen my beloveds. They deserved a full plotline. This is written from Marie's point of view. She's part of her school's book club where she meets the girls and she writes them a story where they can love between the lines and in the text (because maybe just maybe she lives there too). I loved Siobhan and Kristen because they represented me and so many others I know who discovered themselves through media and characters and needed not to be let down. And in my personal headcanon Marie was just gonna post her own ending on livejounral or something till she saw she could help someone with it. This is my first poem ever that doesn't rhyme and I am so nervous about it. But this was so fun to write it just flowed out! @spnpoetryrenaissance

Day One of Sapphicnatural Reading Week

Pairing: Kristen/Siobhan (Supernatural: Fan Fiction)

Summary: When Kristen gets the part of Castiel in the school musical, a character she identifies with more strongly than any other, she's never been happier—until she discovers that the actor playing Dean Winchester is none other than Siobhan, the girl she’s had a crush on for two years. Suddenly she’s playing the part of a love-struck angel opposite the girl she’s practically in love with already, and Kristen is so totally screwed.

Pre-Reading Thoughts: I'm really excited for this one! I'm expecting it to be fluffy/sweet and I'm a huge sucker for a good friends-to-lovers fic. I'm a little nervous about the fact that it all takes place in high school because sometimes I find high school stories to be a bit boring but I am looking forward to reading a fic about one of the few canon sapphic couples on the show.

Fun fact: This is the longest kristensiobhan fic on AO3!

Kristen is nervous, incredibly nervous. She’s never been on a date with anyone before, least of all with the girl she’s been hopelessly crushing on for the past year.  

Now she’s sitting in a booth at the Silver Diner, wringing her hands anxiously. They’re both already ordered, but Siobhan has excused herself to the restroom, leaving Kristen alone with her thoughts. She’s becoming a nervous wreck.

The thing is, she really, really likes Siobhan, and is over the moon at the prospect of going out with her… But. Always the big ‘but’.

Siobhan returns just then, beaming. “Hey, I have quarters. Do you wanna pick a song?”

“I’m asexual,” Kristen blurts. Oops, she thinks as she sees the confusion wash over the other girls face. Shit. “I-I’m sorry,” she starts babbling. Once, it’s out, she can’t seem to stop, “-I didn’t know how to tell you it’s just that I knew you asked me out and it’s been really nice and I liked holding your hand in the movie but I think you deserve to know and-”

“Hey, slow down,” Siobhan gently takes Kristen’s hands from across the table, “Relax. Hey, it’s okay,” she looks searchingly into Kristen’s eyes, her own filled with concern, “Now, start over,”

Kristen takes a deep breath, better now than never, she thinks. “I’m asexual,” she says again, “and I’ve known for. Well, for a little while. I mean, I’m sure about it. I don’t want to do anything um. Anything sexual,” she blushes, “It’s just how I am. But, I also know that I kinda like you and then you asked me out and. I thought you should know what you’re- what you’re getting yourself into.”

Siobhan takes a moment to think before responding. “Well, I’m glad you talked to me about it,” she starts, “But hey. If you’re freaking out about this- and don’t try and tell me you aren’t, because I know you- then I need you to understand that this isn’t a make-it-or-break-it thing,”

“What do you mean?”

“It’s not that I don’t care about you being ace- actually that’s pretty cool,” Siobhan smiles, “What I mean, is that I like you too. And I like you because I think you’re an amazing person, we work well together, and hell- because I think you’re kinda cute,” now Siobhan is blushing too, “-and that’s why I asked you out. I’m not thinking about sex right now, and I’m not gonna let the- the future possibilities about sex” Kristen laughs as she makes ridiculous finger quotes, “-dictate whether or not I go out with you.”

Kristen smiles shyly, “Do you really mean that?” she asks, eyebrows beginning to furrow in worry, “Because it’s just. I know I’m never going to want to do… that stuff, and I just keep thinking- what if we stay together for a long time, and what if I’m just not… not enough. I don’t want to deprive you of what you want in a relationship,”

“Yes, I really mean it” Siobhan says earnestly. “Because I genuinely like you. And you will never be depriving me of something. Ever. If it’s not something you want in our relationship, then it’s not something I want. That’s how these things work. Anyway,” she laughs shakily, “I think it’s kinda early to be thinking such heavy thoughts, but y’know, I’m glad we talked this out.”

“I am too,” Kristen manages, watching as Siobhan opens her purse and pulls out a small bag of change. “I… Thank you, Siobhan. Thanks for being, well for being an overall terrific person,”

“I do try. But seriously, it’s no big deal,” Siobhan replies, “Now. It’s your turn to choose a song, so what’s it gonna be?” the long-haired girl asks, handing over a quarter.

Kristen chooses American Pie, and the two high schoolers split a sunday, and the conversation turn back to normal things, like the play, their strange cats, and their shared evil Physics professor.

"Hey, you wanna go ice skating?" Kristen asks as they pass it on the way out of the Diner. It’s still pretty early, and she doesn’t have to be home till 8:30. 

"Sure," Siobhan smiles, "I’d love to."

Kristen (the Cas in the play) was totally the one who told Siobhan about Supernatural. I can just imagine them chilling out together one day after school while Kristen is digging through her closet and drawers to find, as she called it. "The best books ever" and how she just finished Swan Song while Siobhan just sits on Kristen's bed watching as her adorable girlfriend gets excited about this book.

She didn't want to read it at first, because there entire school was already crazy about it but of course Kristen manages to convince her and she ends up loving it

End Thoughts:

I have a strong preference for canon based fics and this story occupies a strange place in SPN fanfic where it is 100% canon compliant and yet does not contain any supernatural elements at all so I was a little concerned I wouldn't like it but it was SO cute and SO sweet and pretty funny in places, too. These girls are dorks and I love them.

Read if: You are looking for something sweet and fluffy that will forcibly take you back to your High School Crush Era (in a good way).
