"Again, I really must thank you for allowing me to stay with you tonight. I know it was a bit sudden, and that can be a bit of a burden, but I'm willing to repay you however I can."

The life of a Cross Knight was never easy, and often involved traveling for long periods of time, pursuing evil wherever it may run. Helena was on the trail of a lesser demon, likely an imp or something similar, which had breached the veil and was running amok in the countryside. She had still been traveling when night had fallen, and by the time she reached a town with lodgings for travelers, the proprietors had long since gone to bed, leaving her with the options of either camping out in the wilderness, or hoping that a generous soul would host her for the night.

While she was more than capable of setting up a camp, it wasn't something she overly preferred doing, and so she'd been rather pleased when a pair of siblings had offered to let her stay in their home. Even if they denied her offer of repayment, she would reward them either way.

The next morning, waking up just before dawn, she would take the time to cast minor blessings upon their home, warding away ill fortunes and attacting prosperity and good health. Truly, it was the least she could do for such bright souls.

Aela von Eiswald. An immortal Cambion Sorceress with a particular aptitude for Subsumation and Dreamwalking. Once consumed the essence of a particularly powerful demon, granting her immense magical power and limited immortality.

Erebos. A low level demon, summoned and bound by Aela to act as her retainer and familiar. Formerly a human, she used to be one of Aela's many students, and still feels a strong sense of loyalty to her former teacher. Became a demon after unwittingly selling her soul in an infernal pact.

Helena Lockheed. One of the Cross Knights of the Church of Light. Devotee of the White God. A righteous soul who despises all things demonic, seeking to drive such infernal influences back to the Hells and safeguard the mortal world against further incursions.

Sarakiel. An angel in the service of the White God. A Holy Avenger who acts to strike down demonic incursions. Currently acting as a mentor of sorts to Helena, providing guidance and angelic power to the young knight.

Himiko Sakura. Eldest daughter of Amaterasu, Priest-Queen of the island empire of Yamatai. Proficient with the blade, having honed her skills over centuries of life. Her favoued weapon is that of the Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi, gifted by her uncle upon her ascension to the throne.
