Hiiiiiiiii kraina 🥰 I'm only up to ep3 atm and I'm really enjoying it so far!! I was just a big 🥺 when they introduced sorsha and mads' son as airik, and I think the casting of airik and kit is very spot on. I'm a huge fan of Erin Kellyman so I was delighted to see her being gay and beautiful too. At this point boorman is my blorbo of the month I adore him. I also think it's very sweet they didn't kill mads off screen to explain val kilmers absence.

I do have some critiques, namely the meta self depreciating humour that characterises so much fantasy/scifi reboots atm. It feels like a huge departure in attitude from the sincerity of the original, but I have that criticism of a lot of reboots these days.

I also feel it's somehow lacking in the detailed aesthetic of the original, but I appreciate how they've tried to recapture it by prioritising practical effects. Maybe it's the way it's shot so cleanly where the original was more intimate, hand-held, etc.

I also...as someone who wore out the recorded VHS tape of the original film as a kid...just don't vibe with how this reboot imagines sorsha. obviously I wasn't expecting her to be like she was before after having kids and being a queen, being away from her love, but there's something...mean in her in the way she treats willow, kit and elora that feels Wrong. maybe I haven't watched far enough along to understand why she's treating them this way though idk.

I'm very wary of Disney reboots after what happened with [gestures at star wars] but I'm cautiously enjoying myself atm. Loving swearing Warwick Thornton Willow, one of my OG blorbos in his element again ♥️

speaking about movies - which films and cartoons are your favorite? what can you recommend?

I've been told I have pretty bad taste lol, I tend to prefer surrealist stuff with horror, unique art styles [like stop motion], and/or comedy vibes. I really like stuff that has deeper meaning to it as well.

One I got into recently was Junk Head!

It's all four of those things, and just really sweet and silly as well. It's about a future where humans have basically become robots and are unable to procreate anymore so one man is sent down to a lower world full of mutants to find out a way to save humanity. It's free on YouTube as well

Warning for: gore/violence

I also got really into Wes Anderson movies recently [Isle of Dogs, Fantastic Mr Fox, Asteroid City]

All three are really good. The animation is probably one of my favorite stop motion styles. I love how the characters move.

There's a couple online series I've gotten into a lot as well being Kraina Grzybów TV - Smile Guide, and U M A M I's Interface

I genuinely do not know the actual plot of Smile Guide. Its fake "how too" guides and is very nonesensical. I think it's about a girl who died and is going through hell guided by a giant squirrel? It's very funny as well as spooky.

Warning for: jump scares, loud noises, flashing imagery

Interface follows a clown demon and an immortal man traveling through the world of interface. It's very bitter sweet. I adore Mischief [the clown] a lot.

Then there's Gregory Horror Show, which is also available free on YouTube with some missing episodes

Which is about lost souls stuck in a hotel owned by a bastard rat man. The character designs in this show are so good

Warning for: cartoon violence, general adult themes though they're pretty mild

Then recently I finished this one as well that's *also* available to watch on YouTube

Strange hill high follows the three main characters Mitchell, Becky, and Templeton as they attend a very weird school.

It's made with puppets and 3D animation, the character deisgns in this one are also great

Warning for: gross-out humor, this one's aimed at a younger audience so it's otherwise pretty safe.

i mainly associate you with music in film :) because every time i see one of yourself music gifsets, i instantly want to watch the movie AND listen to the soundtrack but i also associate you with the durrells and just being a really, really nice and approachable person :)

ah kraina! i watched LOTS of films / shows but never actually been in the fandom unless im really into it (like for example: hp, 1917, schitt's creek, friends, hamilton etc) !

so even though im not fully invested in the fandoms, that doesn't mean i don't like the film or the show :) which why you can find lots of random films or shows on my tracking tag and on my reblogs also!

Hi Kraina!! No, you haven't yet, so it's all good!

I haven't watched this show since the earliest seasons, so I don't actually know who this character is, but the Summer Haleston set. Am I correct in saying that you've been trying out different coloring styles lately? This reminds me of your Buckynat set; the coloring on that one is spectacular, and so is the coloring on this one! I love vintage-inspired coloring that looks like old film stock so I think this MM set is incredibly pretty.
