This post is very important to me
the type of boyfriend who is an absolute shithead to anyone but you. he could point out a lot of brutal things about anyone but when he looks at you, he couldn’t find himself to think of a single mean thing simply because he doesn’t find any reason to

word count; 1033 – f!reader
Kozume Kenma did not want to be in the library right now. If he had his way, he would be asleep under a warm duvet all day now that classes had ended for the semester. Unfortunately, he had a lot to learn before exams, and there was no time to waste.
He chose a seat by the table in the back, which was only occupied by one other student, who he didn’t acknowledge at all. You eventually took notice of him, though. The cute guy with the outgrown bleach was looking down at his schoolwork with a frown, and you were very amused. You stretched your arm out to get his attention, and Kenma eventually looked up with a face that bridged between annoyed and confused. He looks like a kitten, you thought. "What did that book ever do to you?"
"It mocks my lack of will. So if you could try not to distract me, that would be great," he answered, which ended your conversation abruptly. You smirked to yourself, picked up a pen and got to work on your next drawing after taking a sip from your water bottle. Kenma calmly put on his headphones, a sign to please leave him alone.
After about half an hour, Kenma sat back in his seat to stretch. His spine cracked, and he clapped his cheeks to stay awake. You took this as your opportunity and flipped your drawing pad to show him the newest masterpiece. Kenma turned his head at the motion, and his face quickly fell in disbelief. You had drawn him how he looked today, except with ears and a nose that resembled a calico cat. He frowned when he noticed your wide and proud smile. Annoyingly enough, he was impressed by your unusual art style. When Kenma looked down at his notes again, he couldn't help the small smile that crept onto his face. A light rosy colour tinted his cheeks despite his efforts to stay cool, and your heart fluttered. Mission accomplished.
A week later, even closer to exams, Kenma made his way to the library again. To his surprise, the woman he still didn't know the name of was there too. With a quick rundown of positives and negatives in his head, he decided to take a seat across from you.
You sat like that every day for the whole school week. Kenma tried his best to cram as many facts as he could and actually started to feel like this exam might go well. He didn't quite know what the person across from him was working on, but you had several different coloured pens and even a small box of watercolours along with a brush that somehow stored the water you needed in the handle. He started wondering, and before he could stop himself, "Are you allowed to paint in here?"
Your eyes met, unconsciously having a staring contest for one too many seconds. Oh, so he wants to talk to me now? When his eyes wandered around your face and hands, he noticed that you weren’t exactly being careful with your colours either.
"No one has told me not to," you said slowly as if trying to convince him. A small smile graced his lips, and you felt greedy for more of it.
"Sounds like solid reasoning to me," Kenma agreed and leaned back in his chair. His hand lifted to point at the back of your large notepad, "What are you creating now, then?"
Abashingly, you turned it around. You had filled the whole page, and he recognised it as the library you were currently in, but with much more sunshine and colours, orange flowers growing from the books and pink cows making their way across the floor in the back. "I study visual arts. We have to create an exhibition, and my theme is perspective." His mouth fell open slightly as he nodded in understanding when you explained.
"It's cool. You're good at that." Kenma kept his voice low, and something about it was so enticing to you. He spoke so calmly and every emotion of his was a mystery. "I'm Kenma."
"I'm y/n." After settling down from your little conversation, you kept sipping from your water bottle. Kenma’s mouth dried every time he heard the sound. He did his best to clear his throat, realising he hadn’t brought anything to drink.
“Do you have an inspiration?” he asked, mostly wondering if you actually saw the words that way.
The corner of your mouth quirked. “I’ve always like games, it’s affected the way I see the world. Sorry, that probably sounds like childish imagination.”
Kenma thought back to the things he’d imagine when he ran in high school for volleyball practice. The way he’d make it into a game. “No, I… Uh, I totally get it.”
You two naturally fell into silent, individual work again. Kenma kept glancing over at your paintings, but whenever you met his gaze, he would look away. Eventually, the sun went down, and you both started clearing the table, silently packing everything into your bags. Come on, Kenma. Just smile at her and say something. However, somewhat luckily, you beat him to it.
"Hey, Kenma?" He lifted his head swiftly, eyebrows raised, happy that you started the conversation. "Do you want to get a drink?" You weren’t necessarily nervous, but undoubtedly hopeful for his answer. The corners of his mouth lifted in a kind, small smile. You had both picked up your bags and stood beside the table.
"A drink? Yeah, sure." Kenma’s voice sent a shiver down your spine again, and you straightened up with an even broader smile.
"Fun! Cool, cool, cool- The student bar?"
"I've only been there once or twice before, never saw the charm." The student bar had a certain vibe that didn't fit him when he just wanted to drink. A lot of people were there to socialise with new people, and Kenma was not interested.
"The beer is cheaper there," you said in a sing-songy voice to try and convince the handsome man. Kenma wasn't entirely convinced, but if you wanted to go there, then he wouldn't argue.
"Lead the way."

Kenma / Kageyama headcanons because they’re very relatable i fear
KENMA
• surprisingly kenma has quite the sweet tooth , he definitely does 3am kitchen trips
• he’s not big on pda, he even asked you to refrain on that , however in crowded places or when he’s anxious he likes to hold pinkies, it reminds him you’re here
• kenma doesn’t really express his love by saying stuff like “i love you” or use pet names, he’d rather show his love through actions such as :
• leaving cute lil notes in your notebooks when you’re not looking
• he doesn’t get jealous , kenma sometimes feels like you’d be better off with another guy. he gets insecure instead and you have to show him that he’s the one you chose
• his all time favorite memory with you so far is when he was sitting on the floor playing on his switch and you were in the couch braiding his hair
• kenma is a blanket hogger. He would subconsciously steal the blankets and wrap himself in it like a burrito
• he sometimes would stare at your hands, secretly thinking how nice they would look holding his own.
• sleeping on your chest is his favorite position, not because of what you might be thinking, but hearing your steady heartbeat really calms him down and shuts his brain
• when he’s alone— or with the few people he’s comfortable enough with— he tends to hum when he spaces out
•he has a habit of accidentally hoarding random items like old receipts or gum wrappers.
KAGEYAMA
•we all know our beloved kageyama is competitive, it still was surprising when he actually refused to cuddle the night you beat him at a board game
•he always thought he was a picky eater , little did he know— he just didn’t know how to cook
•kageyama loves when you help him with english homework , he thinks your accent is attractive
• when you’re holding hands , he usually plays with your fingers and traces lil circles and hearts on your palm
•his secret talent is that he’s a master at origami
•kageyama actually likes to watch rom-coms (only if it had a good ending tho) but he’d rather shave his own head than admit it
•he’s usually not really the scared type , he’s pretty brave but GOD FORBID is there’s a clown
•he’s also really good at drawing , biggest reason why he doesn’t focus in class— he’s most definitely drawing you, he’s been drawing you before you even got close
•his brain is so rotted, kageyama will only watch a video or focus if there’s subway surfer on the side
•when he first started dating , he read romance novels as if they were manuals for relationships
•kageyama has a fear of heights and will AVOID AT ALL COSTS ladders or standings on tall chairs

i feel the urge to say smth SO OBVIOUS bc i just saw the absolute worst take imaginable on tik tok so bear with me:
when kenma says that kageyama is losing interest in hinata because he can’t get a good spike in, he is wrong. he’s wrong! he is incorrect! it’s not that he reads hinata incorrectly (hinata did begin to crumble because of kenma’s scheme), his plan falls apart because he read kageyama incorrectly (kageyama was going to keep passing to hinata no matter what; he did not lose confidence in him). kenma was wrong! and him being wrong in that moment is a major proponent of nekoma losing the game!

✿ thinkin bout you. 𓂃 k. kozume x f. reader
cw. word count ; 1.9k. part 2 of ; trust. trust who? beach day episode. anxiety. kind of insecure! reader. kuroo appearance. keiko already knowing about kenma and reader. kind of suggestive? they don’t do anything, but they mention things that happened in part one.
syn. after the mishap with kenma last month, things have gotten more and more awkward, and you have gotten less you, as time goes on. keiko invites you to the beach, in hopes of cheering you up.
It’s a good day for the beach. There aren’t too many people here, because it’s a Monday. The sun is out, but there are still clouds in the sky, so it’s not swelteringly hot out. You’re with your best friend, skipping school with no consequences since your parents already said yes to a beach day.
Beside you, Keiko is laid out on her beach towel, letting the sun beam down on her skin as she hopes and prays for a good tan. You, on the other hand, have your knees pulled up to your chest, sunglasses on, and you’re reading a book.
“Are you still reading that godforsaken book?” Without looking over, you can tell Keiko doesn’t even have her eyes open. She knows you too well, she could probably predict your every move at this point. You do, in fact, look back, though, a smile on your face. Her eyes open and she props herself up on her elbow, tilting her head. “We are literally at the beach, Y/n. Like, the sun is out, the waves are crashing against the sand, or whatever. Enjoy the sun!”
You sigh, but make a show out of closing your book and setting it to the side. Your arms end up wrapped around your legs and you rest your cheek on a knee. “It’s hot. I can’t just sit there and tan like you do— I get bored. Why can’t we go in the water yet?”
“Because Kenma and Kuroo haven’t shown up yet.” Your stomach drops at the mention of his name. Your eyes dart away from her, now glued to the water. “Besides,” she says, laying back down, “I still have a few minutes left before I can stop tanning my front side.”
“Kenma and Kuroo are coming?” You ask, voice quiet and distant. You haven’t talked to Kenma in weeks. The thought of seeing him again makes you nervous. Briefly, you’re insecure about the swimsuit you’re wearing, but then remember that night in his room and stop.
“Mhm. It’s their senior skip day, that’s why my parents said yes to me skipping too.”
You hum in response. That makes sense, logically, but that doesn’t mean you have to like it. You sigh and glance back at her once more. She looks so peaceful— so happy. You with a resigned purse of your lips, you stand up. “I’m going to get ice cream. You want strawberry?”
Her answer barely reaches your ears as she mumbles out a yes. You brush the sand off your hands and look out to the water again. You think you might want to go home again right now. There’s a few people lining the beach; some college kids playing beach volleyball, an older couple sitting very close to the water, a singular woman laying down and enjoying the sun.
You take a deep breath and try to calm your nerves. For a moment, you start to think about excuses you could use in order to escape. But then you think back to when Keiko was so excited that you agreed to come today, and a frown finds its way onto your face.
As you make your way to the ice cream shop, you can’t help but zone out. You try to keep your eyes in focus, but they just can’t. you’re too focused on Kenma and him showing up and the possibility that he told Kuroo what you two did and how Kuroo is going to snicker at you and judge you and—
A familiar laugh pulls you out of your thoughts. It’s loud and it’s annoying and you look up to see Kuroo and Kenma walking straight towards you.
Now, you have two options; there’s a group of bushes beside you. You could jump in and hide from them, risking your dignity and also the fact that it would probably hurt. Or. You keep walking, chin high, and pretend nothing is wrong.
You glance at the bushes, then back to the pair, and slowly realize that Kenma has already spotted you. You wrap your arms around yourself and go with a secret third option.
You put your head down and speed walk past them, ignoring Kuroo’s greeting and Kenma’s cat-like eyes burning into your skin.
There’s no time to think about what just happened— how embarrassing and plain rude it was— because you’re at the ice cream shop in less than ten steps after passing the two boys. Just like the beach, there’s not a lot of people there; two people working, and one person sitting down at one of the tables.
You’re less than a yard away from the counter, when there’s a hand on your shoulder, spinning you around to look at them. Kenma stands in front of you now, shirtless and a little out of breath. Did he run back here?
There’s a sheen of sweat covering his body and, in the sun, it almost looks as if he’s sparkling. You want to throw up. Instead, you plaster a smile on your face and blink a couple times. “Hi, Kenma. Are you getting some ice cream, too?”
If possible, his face falls even flatter. “Cut the bullshit,” he snaps, making you flinch backwards a little bit. Kenma has never been an aggressive guy— well, maybe that’s not true after knowing what you know now, but he’s always been nice to you. “Why are you acting so… weird?”
Again, you blink at him, face blank, eyes dumb. There are so many scenarios running through your head; you tell him why you’re acting weird and he gets weirded out. You don’t tell him why you’re acting weird and he stops talking to you. You don’t tell him why you’re acting weird and he tells Keiko, effectively ruining your friendship.
“I’m not…” you trail off, eyes darting anywhere but his face. This is it. This is your chance. Speak now or forever hold your peace, right? You huff out a quick breath and meet his golden eyes once more. “I’m acting weird because you were my first kiss and then acted like nothing happened! And then you took my virginity and did the same damn thing!”
His eyes widen comically as you rant. Almost too fast for you to even process, his eyes sweep the surroundings before he grabs your arm and drags you away to a more secluded place— one where no one will see you.
Your rate picks up again. You find it often does that when you’re around Kenma.
“What the hell are you talking about?” He hisses out, hand still gripping your arm. It makes you think back to that night when you first asked him the question, and you have to suppress a shiver. “You— I thought— you left my room before I woke up the morning after. You were the one who told me not to say anything to Keiko when I kissed you. You acted like nothing happened first. I followed your lead because I thought you didn’t want Keiko to know.”
“I don’t, but—”
“Then this is not just on me,” he cuts you off, eyes narrowed. You don’t think you’ve ever seen Kenma this mad before— you don’t think you’ve ever seen him mad, actually. “It’s partly my fault, because I was stupid enough to—”
It’s silent for a moment. The breeze kicks up, blowing both of your hair in the wind, yet there isn’t a word spoken. He stares at you, and you stare at him— silent.
“Stupid enough to what?” Your voice comes out in a shaky, weak whisper. You sound pathetic, and you know it, but you don’t care. Tears begin to sting at your eyes and you stare at him dumbly.
He hesitates, letting go of your arm and taking a step back. He seems to be calmer already. “Shit, I—” he takes an indecisive step forward, brows furrowing slightly. “I didn’t— I wasn’t going to say that, I was—” he cuts himself off with a frustrated sigh. “I wasn’t saying that taking your virginity was stupid. I was just… It would be better if you weren’t Keiko’s best friend, you know? I’m glad you are, but…”
“But it complicated things,” you finish for him, nodding. You look down at the ground and a singular tear splashes onto the sand. “I know. I’m sorry. I didn’t… I just, um, wanted someone I trusted.”
“I know.” His hand finds your arm again, his fingers are cold against your sun kissed skin. “And that’s perfectly fine. I think I already said this, but I’m happy you picked me and not some random guy from school.” This gets a small laugh out of you and, when you look up, Kenma is half-smiling too. “I’m sorry I yelled at you. It was kind of mean.”
You giggle again and sniffle, wiping your eyes with the back of your hand. “It’s okay. I kind of yelled about you and my virginity in front of those ice cream workers, so it cancels out.”
“Yeah,” Kenma laughs out, nodding. “I guess it does.”
You two stare at each other for a moment longer, basking in the comfortable silence that settles around you.
Kenma is the first one to talk. A hesitant question as he tilts his head, “So?”
You mirror his action, tilting it the other way, and furrow your brows. “So?” You repeat. Your mind catches up to what he’s asking and your eyes widen. “Oh. So. What do you… I mean, like, I know that I, personally, wouldn’t—”
“What are we gonna tell Keiko?”
The question stops you short, your brain seems to stutter. “Oh,” you breathe out. “I… did not think about that.”
“I don’t think you need to tell her.” The new, but familiar, voice cuts through the air like a sword. You can feel the air around you get freezing cold. You swallow hard and slowly turn around to Keiko standing not even five feet away from you, hands crossed over her chest. Kuroo stands next to her, brows raised in complete and utter disbelief. “Are you fucking kidding me?” She exclaims, marching towards you. “You lost your virginity to my brother and didn’t tell me?”
You can’t even talk right now. Your throat is dry, your brain is fried, you can’t breathe. “Keiko, I can—”
She glances back at Kuroo for a millisecond before they both start cackling. They clutch their stomachs and double over, wheezing and gasping for breath.
You and Kenma exchange glances, confusion written on both of your faces. “Uh.” Kenma scratches the back of his neck, clearing his throat. “What’s happening right now?”
Keiko, through her gasps of laughter, looks up at you and shakes her head, taking another step towards you and hitting your shoulder. “I already knew, you dumbass. I was just waiting for you to say something and you just, like, never did!”
“Oh my god.” You blink a couple times, staring down at the sand once again. “Oh my god. Keiko, what? How did you know?”
Her laughter has stopped now. She looks at you, leans close to your ear, and giggles before whispering, “you need to learn to be more quiet. Be happy my parents weren’t there for you to wake up.”
You can feel your face heat up. Kenma gives you a confused look, but you shake your head, mumbling something about telling him later.
“Okay, can we swim now, or what?”
All three of you look at Kuroo and laugh. “Yeah,” Kenma nods his head, unexpectedly throwing an arm around your shoulders. “Let’s go swim.”

If anyone else is also heavy on HQ Tiktok, please tell me you've also noticed the oikawa-esc villainification of Kuroo recently. Like, listen, there are always going to be hated characters even if it's not valid, I get it... BUT KUROO??? The character whose main motivation is to have fun with his friends?? Did we watch the same show??
Kuroo who became such close friends with Kenma, who's a complete opposite of himself and got him into volleyball because he wanted to see him have fun and find passion in something that helped him take care of himself?
Kuroo who spent most of his time at the Tokyo training camp helping Tsukishima and the others with techniques and practice that they never got the chance to learn or have?
Kuroo who spent his time teaching them everything he did that ultimately lead to them beating him and his own team at nationals because winning or losing didn't mean anything to him if the people around him weren't finding joy, fun, and companionship in the game that he loved so dearly?
Kuroo who still comes around after he graduates because he wants to see the friends he made still having fun with it even though he didn't go further with it?
Anyway, I know this was just silly but his character is so special to me, drop your favorite self indulgent hcs below bc I cannot get enough content of him </3

Synopsis: Three inseparable friends face a painful rift forcing one of them to question their bond.
*✧・゚: *✧・゚:
As long as anyone could remember, Kuroo, Kenma, and Y/N had been friends, inseparable, always sticking with each other and never leaving one another's side.
Days went by, weeks went by, and years went by, but their friendship never faltered. Y/N didn't really like volleyball, but he put up with it to be able to stay by his best friends' side. He wasn't as talented as Kenma, nor did he have Kuroo's passion for the sport, but he worked hard for them.
Y/N worked twice as hard as everyone else to keep up, refusing to be left on the bench while they played, or lag behind; he had his pride too.
Maybe he did train a little bit too hard. But if that was the price for keeping up with his best friends, then so be it. He loved them dearly -not as lovers, but as very good friends.
It was during one of those late-night training sessions that he suddenly felt a sharp twitch in his knee followed by an intolerable deep pain-he had never imagined such pain was possible. The players still training at the time ran toward him, but the damage was already done.
That night, Kenma and Kuroo weren't in practice. They were at home. Y/N found himself at the hospital as the doctor gave him the worst news: he couldn't play for at least 2 months.
At first, Y/N tried to stay positive. Two months was nothing compared to the years of friendship they had built, and he thought everything would be okay.
He was wrong. He was so so wrong.
At the behinning, nothing changed. The only difference was that Y/N couldn't attend practice anymore. But as days flowed into weeks, Kuroo and Kenma grew distant. There was always an excuse: they were "too busy" with extra practices, matches, or whatever... And for a while, Y/N believed them.
Some may think he was a fool to believe them but they were his best friends so how could he not believe them? Or so he thought.
But even as spring warmed the world around him, Y/N felt cold. Maybe it was loneliness that made his heart freeze. He was no stranger to solitude, being an introvert, but this—being alone without Kuroo and Kenma—was a new kind of pain.
As weeks went by, the gap between them increased. Y/N began to doubt everything. Wasn't all that really the best friendship he had built? Had he ever be their best friend?
