Well, I have slept on this ending and I am here with thoughts.

It is still a good game. I also liked the epilogue, even though apart from Saori and Rio, I had already seen all of it before. Akinari's did make me cry again, of course. But since the rest was so familiar, it didn't hit as hard as the first time.

I also completely missed Shinji. I know he woke up. A classmate told me so, but was I able to visit him in the hospital? If so, I had no clue so that didn't happen. If it was only the classmate, then that's a big letdown and it is very anticlimatic.

As I mentioned in my final battle post, I was on the verge of tears during the entire finale, but I also didn't cry as much as I expected. This is once again where the fact that this is a visual novel really lacks the depth of the other P3 games (vanilla, FES, Reload). The image of Kotone lying on Aigis's lap on the rooftop would've BROKEN ME (it's why the one of Makoto and Aigis from P3R is my header), but it wasn't there. Still, it got to me, even though I knew what was coming, but maybe that was why it got to me. I've been obsessed with Kotone even before the game. When I finished P3R, one of the first thoughts that came to me was "Kotone has to deal with this as well?" or something similar.

And I did start crying at this moment. Just as with P3R, I said "Please stay with me" and chose ".....", even though I knew it wasn't gonna work. THIS GAME.

She closed her eyes. Aigis stayed with her. The others were too late. That's the thing that always gets to me. The others were TOO LATE. But again, the visual novel style didn't actually show me how the others were too late, so it felt less emotional in that regard. (I did already look up te NG+ endings, where a loved one joins Kotone/Makoto on the roof.)

The credits rolled, I cried, but was able to watch them. Memories of You slaps, although I definitely missed the violin from the Reload version. But it was good.
