Hot take : Kor is the Dark Hero.
- He helps the MC like he was helped before, just like the Dark Hero was offered kindness when he arrived and vowed to protect these kind people of any worry. Also, he says he’s been there for a while but doesn’t specify how much time.
- The MC thinks he is 20, maybe 22 years old after Kor said that we’ll look older if we worry too much. But he doesn’t answer and says “see, because I don’t worry.” Is it because he looks younger than his real age ?
- He is not from Crimson City and lived in Port Faux before studying in the Ventali capital, Axion, but left when Eversion blew it up. Which is, according to Gerald and Jack a long time ago and the MC picks up on that. Kor automatically says he mispoke. Yeah sure. Also he knows Jack, but since how long ?
- He is not an official Kortian adventurer (probably because it’d be weird to be listed as alive for a few centuries) and speaks like a Hero according to MC who can also call him a knight, to which he says : I’m as far from a Knight as can be. Maybe because he was a Hero and now leans on the anti-hero side, but if we ask if he’s a villain he says he’s normal and just wants to raise his daughter. He also diffuse every situation if MC asks too much question and is on his guards when MC mentions both Knights and Heroes. Also, he himself says his life is complicated.
- The Dark Hero is said to have changed physically because of his power and was afraid to enter the town because he didn’t look like a Vallaurian anymore, but Kor doesn’t have much weird attributes except his hair black on both sides and his purple eyes (colors associated to darkness and bad omens). He is fully covered with baggy clothes though, so maybe...
- HE CAN TELEPORT. TELEPORT. AS IN SHADOW MAGIC STUFF. Be it Solo Leveling, Pokémon, Kortia, ... Teleportation is always something dark/shadow related and well? we’re speaking about Dark Hero Kor. Jack said the Dark Hero needed a lot of Vallaurian lives to use his powers, but since a bomb just exploded did he gather the failing lives to teleport us away from harm ? And even more to teleport us to the Castle (he teleported 4 times with us, must have used some energy or he has reserves on him in jewels or artefacts). He is also unscathed by the attack contrary to us, probably because he’s no mere mortal.
Bonus Point.
- His daughter age is never mentionned, even MC thinks it’s weird because she’s supposed to be young and yet Umi wants to set up dates for her. Kor says the situation is complicated as is his life, and we know the Hero of Lightning left with the Hero of Darkness. The Hero of Darkness is genrdered as he, while the Hero of Lightning is mentionned twice as such with no gender written (not even they/their) and they (she ?) supposedly disappeared before the Hero of Darkness arrived to Crimson City. Second hot take : The Hero of Lightning is Zaria who somehow reverted back to a child’s body or lost her memories and Kor is watching over her like Seteth with Flayn (FE3H fam you know what I’m talking about.)

Possible endings for black tarot
I only talk about sweet elite so let's vary it a little bit, I wanted to talk about the possible Kortia endings and theories but we still don't have enough material and also I have no keys to do a historical replay several times so let's go to theory of possible endings for black tarot
1-Destruction or death
In this end the Seeker dies, either by a possible main villain, one of the 6 main, by an accident or themselves not to be consumed by the power of the deck, normally in these endings it is the IL that dies, but by the way they are all immortal so it’s kind of hard for this to happen but it’s still a possibility.
2-Stuck
In this end the Seeker fails to free and has their souls stuck to the deck along with the others condemned to serve the next owners of the deck without questioning their order, at least they will be with the person who lives for the rest of their lives even if they cannot see each other until the deck has a new master.
3-The happy ending or (Anything more creative)
Seekers finally manage to solve their grandfather's problems, letting their spirit rest and I also managed to free everyone from the curse of the taro deck and each of them will go their own way, and the game will end with the Seekers closing the shop door and going I meet the people they chose to spend the rest of their lives with, and now they could finally live a normal life.
Well that was it, I confess that I ended up traveling a little while writing, but let's see if I get it right a little if we had some of these endings.

Kortia thoughts
Recently I’ve played Kortia and I want to resume my thoughts on that game. I like it A LOT and I need more and I’ll just blow up if I don’t say anything! I’m not good at English but that won’t stop me)))
Beware the spoilers!
So, no order only impressions:
It’s complex! I can see how much work was put into it! The world is deep, rich with history and distinctive. Cons to it: too much lore in first chapters. I have played it about 8 times (maybe more)) and still I can’t properly remember everything MC’d learned. Poor MC…
But I’m looking forward to more revelations! The story is intriguing and has just the right proportion of facts vs myth. I like when MC need to find what they supposed to do instead of knowing their purpose from the start. Let there be mystery!
Actually I found out our protagonist a bit strange. MC talks a lot about isekai anime and manga so I assume they somewhat has an example to follow. But they proceed to behave like a person from our world! You are in a fantasy medieval society where wrong word or even stare can lead to death! (At least that’s what I learn from isekai and historical novels. And Dyclos is a good example of it.) You are a poor farmer, literally nobody, and first thing you do after waking up in an unfamiliar place is to fight with your landlord? MC do you actually has self-preservation instincts?!
I don’t mean Vallauria is functioning same way as our world (or any fiction world). But our MC has only vague memories from other person’s brain and it seems these memories include mostly names or geographical titles. Is it really wise to act on impulse in a situation like that? Also MC got comfortable with strangers (Jack and Gerald) way too fast. Like they’ve already been friends for quite some time. (But maybe I’m too antisocial)))
Still I like the way MC depicted. They have a personality and (a bit of) backstory – something MCs from other games lacking.
And I am in love with choices! Choices that actually matter and are equally interesting to explore. A lot of games I’ve played have only one path to explore. Everything besides that is empty or even sort of punishment for player for wrong choice. But in Kortia every player’s action is leading to a new outcome that matters. Players will see different parts of story based on their preferences. Wow… Good job!
Some minor dialogues seem too repetitive like one with Byrus in the beginning of the game. And Byrus’ accent… I had a really hard time trying to understand him (but as I said English is not my first language). Aside from that narration is quite good. First chapters were easy to read and understand and I don’t want to skip everything while replaying.
I'm still getting to know other characters. I’d like to see more interactions before make an opinion on them. So far I definitely like Jack! He is friendly, nice, cares about people’s lives and tells stories – I appreciate all of this.
Kor is intriguing. Is he a legend or is he a red herring?) But it’s too early to make solid theories (but I have a bunch!)))
Lady Byrathes is suspicious. MC somehow heard her thoughts – is it MC’s magic or hers or something else? Also Lady gave protagonist very suspicious book. I wonder what it all means…
Dyclos… errr… He is bloodthirsty. What else he has? My MC was very scared of him both in dream and in reality.
Kortia is a very special game. So interesting, well-thought, fun… I feel addicted))) I want more and more and more! Thanks for that beautiful piece of art.
As bonus: my favorite cg. It always makes me smile. Oh, that Goddes’ face! It’s like “You, insolent creature! I will smack your head with this orb!” (:
