Viper fucking hated transplants. Couldn't stand them, really. Every couple years, without fail, some asshole from West Fuck All would roll into the city and try to mess with the balance of things—blur the boundaries of established turfs or try to lure clients away from their legacy suppliers. New blood had to be educated quickly, else they were liable to wind up at the bottom of the bay, or fried so hard that even the fingerprints and dental records were fucked. And now that he’d ascended to second in command, Viper had to be the fucking tutor.

"Oh but it is. I've met many girls like you. So high strung and eager and powerful. The weight of the world weighing down on them like gravity itself. But you don't have to do with that me, puppy. Let them all wash away, let me wash them away." Cinder urged, looking closely at Korra's eyes. Trying to see what part of her body was most enjoyed by the Avatar "All you have to do is submit Puppy, and those worries can wash away. You want that, don't you?" Her voice was so thick and seductive it could be called hypnotic or even addictive
Fall For Cinder

“I’m far from a puppy.” Korra replied to Cinder crossing her arms still checking her out. She’s hiding the fact that she’s turned on by this sight even though her cock is slowly getting hard at the sight of her working out. The Avatar couldn’t keep her eyes out off of her though..l
"Oh, but you are. But you will be." Cinder responded as she put her weights down and shifted herself. Sitting on the bench, crossing her legs. Rolling her left ankle in slow circles while her hands slid up her stomach towards her breasts. Paying close attention to where Korra's eyes went "I've heard about you. The Avatar. Someone oh so powerful. But the thing with power? With responsibility? You long to throw it away. To submit and just obey another. Why would you be so hard right now otherwise?"

Christmas Party
(Kyalin)
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Please..."
"Kya..."
"Lin it'll be fun." Kya promised.
"Games with the families are never fun. Do you want me to count how many times Su broke my nose playing pie in the face?"
"It wasn't that many."
"Four is a lot of times to break your nose, Kya."
"You got me there. But Lin, imagine, a big Christmas, on the island. Everyone is... happy,"
"Until we fight."
"And there's sweets at all hours of the day." Lin didn't look impressed.
"We can start drinking at 11."
"In the morning?" Kya nodded, causing Lin to raise an eyebrow.
"Go on," Lin said. Kya pursed her lips, placing a hand on Lin's waist, circling around the earth bender.
"And when everyone goes to bed, waiting for the morning, we go back to my room and celebrate like adults." Kya whispered the last line in Lin's ear, and Lin was blushing profoundly.
"Alright," Lin caved, "but I'm not babysitting for your brother." Kya stretched a hand out.
"Deal."
"Lin! Kya! So glad the two of you could make it!" Pema greeted. The temple was already buzzing with activity. Lin put her coat on the filled hanger next to the door observing the chaos behind Pema.
"Thank you for having us, Pema," Kya smiled, embracing her sister in law. Lin wasn't paying attention when she, too, was pulled into a hug. She raised an arm awkwardly around Pema, looking to Kya for help, instead just getting laughed at. When Pema pulled away, distracted by the sound of a clay pot crashing to floor, Kya sidled up to Lin.
"That was cute," Kya said.
"There wasn't even a warning. What did I do to deserve that?" Kya nudged her with an arm.
"You'll get used to it."
"Thats what scares me." Kya chuckled, walking over to Bumi who slammed a shot glass onto the table. Lin followed, impressed by Bumi's gusto, although, at this rate he'd be out by dinner.
"Bumi!" Kya called, "did you start without me?"
"Took to long, Kya, I'm already four ahead of you."
"That didn't help you last year, it certainly won't this year." Lin had vague memories of their sibling drinking contest. Tenzin only ever participated once, he lost so badly and was sick for a week after, he never did it again. Kya picked up a shot, lifting it to meet her brother's.
"To tradition!" She said.
"Tradition? To drinking!" Bumj corrected as they took the shot. Bumu turned to Bum-ju who squeaked behind him.
"See Lin," Kya started, "the secret to having a good pace, is waterbending." Kya explained, "manipulate a little alcohol out of the shot, replace it with water, and bam. Suddenly five shots feels like two."
"Thats cheating."
"We never set the rules, or if we did, we don't remember them. If he can find a way to manipulate his alcohol with airbending then he is free to so." Lin scoffed.
"Lets get something to drink, hmm?" Kya said, guiding them to the table in the living room the Avatar was dotting around.
"Beifong, Kya!" Korra said, raising her glass.
"Not too much of that," Lin said and Korra nodded.
"Absolutely Chief, I am relatively new to the world of alcohol I will absolutely pace myself." Lin side eyed her, as Kkrra grinned and shuffled over to Asami.
"Here," Kya said, passing Lin a drink.
"What is it?"
"Not sure, ran out of the first one so I mixed it with the next bottle." Lin looked at her skeptically, Kya just shrugged. Sje took a sip of the concoction, ignoring the bitter taste it left in her mouth. Kya must've seen it on her face, because she lifted an eyebrow, pressing a hand to Lin's jaw.
"Too bitter?" She asked.
"It's... fine, I guess. It'll do the job." Kya grinned, leaning close to Lin's ear.
"Later I'll do my job, and don't worry, what I have to offer is very sweet." Lin blushed as Kya took a nip at her ear, before swinging her long white ponytail in her face, and walking over to Pema. Lin watched her go, unsure of what she was supposed to do after that.
"Lin, its good to see you." A voice said from behind her. She turned to see Tenzin, standing there with a small grin to his lips. Lin nodded, extending her hand. He took it and they shook, Lin grinning.
"You too, airhead." He rubbed the back of his neck while he replied.
"Haven't heard that one in a while."
"I thought it was the perfect time to bring it back." He chuckled.
"So, how are things with you?" He asked. "I feel like we haven't talked much with all thats been going on with the refugee camps." Lin looked to Kya who met her eye, wasting no time in downing the shot in her hand, making sure to run her tongue all around the glass of the cup. Lin gulped returning her gaze to Tenzin, hoping her blush wasn't too noticeable.
"They've been good. I've been taking breaks." She said.
"Good, good. I'm glad, you deserve a break, Lin. Should you take it."
"Heh, you aren't getting rid of me that easy." He placed an arm on her shoulder,
"Of course not," he replied.
"Dinner is served!" Pema called out. Bolin and Korra tossed them selves over the sofa, racing for the first plate of the meal. Lin waited for everyone to settle before getting a plate of her own, sitting across from Kya at the large table that had been brought in by Asami to seat everyone.
"Should we say something?" Asami asked, before eating anything.
"Like what?" Korra asked, halting her fork full of meat inches from her mouth.
"I don't know. I guess I just..." the girl trailed off and Lin frowned. Of course, it was her first Christmas without her father.
Korra put her fork down, placing a hand on Asami's knee to comfort her.
"Go ahead," Korra said, "we'll wait." Everyone nodded, and Asami took a deep breath.
"Thank the spirits," Asami started, "for giving us the chance to have this season together. And for this great big family I inherited. I miss you dad," she finished. Everyone dipped their head. Asami cleared her throat, and with that, the feast began. It didn't take long for Lin to engage Senna in conversation, the Avatar's mother absolutely adored all of the Korra stories Lin had to share.
"She was arrested the first day she got here," Lin explained, "someone didn't get the memo that destroying things is against the law." Senna laughed, and Korra shrugged from down the table. Lin lifted her glass, she wasn't one for wine, but it fit the occasion. Before she could place it to her lips, however, she was kicked in the shin. She furrowed her brows, trying to look under the table. She landed her eyes on Kya, who sat across from her, staring intently at the metalbender. Kya but her bottom seductively, her leg brushing against Lin's under the table. Lin gave her a half-hearted warning look, and the waterbender winked.
Lin volunteered for the game, solely to escape Kya's teasing for just a bit. The waterbender had been throwing her glances all night, and Lin wasn't sure how much more of it she could take before she pushed her against a bathroom wall and well... the rest is up to her imagination.
"Wait what do I have to do?" Korra asked for the third time.
"You... again! Just, drink the shots," Asami said, "I'll handle the rest." Lin watched as Bumi expertly poured three shots each, before re taking his seat.
"Kya!" He called. Fabulous. "These count as part of the race." He declared.
"Seems like cheating to me," Kya said, placing a hand on her hip.
"Hey, a shot is a shot. Watch me of you feel so inclined." No please no-
"I will." Kya made an example of herself as she sat down, pulling her chair loudly to the table, right next to Lin. Lin didn't meet her eye, trying to stay focused on the task at hand. Kya's hand found its way to her thigh, her thin fingers sliding in between Lin's legs...
"Lets drink, shall we?" Lin said, downing her first one, starting the round. The game was simple, take a shot, flip through a deck of cards until you flipped an ace, first to three flipped aces, wins.
She began flipping her cards, well aware of Kya's hand gripping her thigh, her fingers hovering over the material of her pants.
"Go Bumi!" Kya cheered as her brother flipped his first ace. He downed his second just as Lin flipped her first ace. Korra was still flipping, her clumsy fingers getting a lot of help from Asami.
"Faster, Lin.' Kya said, almost mockingly. Lin gulped, feeling herself blush.
"Faster, Lin, Faster!" Lin ran a tongue over her lips. Focus. She flipped her second ace, reaching for her final shot. She took it like it was the only thing keeping her alive. At that moment, Kya decided to really squeeze her thigh, and Lin spat the shot out in suprise. She covered her mouth with a hand and looked to Kya, who was evidently playing dumb.
"Too much for you, Chief?" Kya asked. "I know you hate those coconut ones."
"Done!" Bumi shouted, slamming his glass on the table and standing up in triumph.
"Sit down before you hurt yourself, Bum'" Kya said.
"Hah! This old man just beat Chief Beifong and the Avatat in a drinking game. I think you're lacking Kya." He smirked, gripping the edge of his coat. Kya's eyes narrowed, and Lin watched as the waterbender stood up, taking the can next to Asami. She held it horizontally in her hands, thinking it over, before cracking into it with her nails and drinking out of the torn aluminum. Lin watched, oddly turned on by the action. Kya kept her eyes on her brother who's jaw was agape. Kya threw the can on the floor wipednher mouth with her arm, also hot, and sat back down.
"Thats got to be... what, like three more shots? I think your lacking Bumi." Bumi crossed his arms, storming away. Korra looked thoroughly impressed as Kya's newfound talent, getting the healer to promise to teach her. When the kids left, the two of them were left at the table in silence. Lin cleared her throat, hoping Kya would say something.
"I must've impressed you, you have nothing to say." Kya grinned, taking the cards and returning them to their boxes.
"I didn't know you could chug like that." Kya scoffed, stacking the boxes of cards in the center of the pile.
"Yes you did," the waterbender finalized. Before Lin could say anything more, Pema interrupted, lifting a leaf over their heads.
"What are you doing?' Lin asked.
"Its a mistletoe, Lin." Pema explained. Lin looked to Pema in confusion.
"Am I supposed to know what that means?" Lin asked, crossing her arms gruffly.
"Oh Lin, don't be so grumpy, you kiss whoever is under the mistletoe." Lin looked to Kya, who was undressing her with her eyes. This again?
"Alright, alright, fine." Lin leaned in for a quick kiss, taken aback when Kya gripped her face, holding her lips hostage under the mistletoe. Kya's tongue breached her mouth and Lin almost hummed at the soft groan Kya released. Kya pulled away, licking her lips modestly as the crowd cheered and whistled. Lin pressed her fingers to her lips. Pema looked mildly insulted she likely hadn't meant for the two of them to make out out under the mistletoe. To be fair, Lin hadn't expected it either. Lin looked down at the floor with a blush, while Kya sat there, smirking at the results of her handy work. Someone whistled, likely Bolin and Lin was urged to stand up. With a dip of her head she retreated to the washroom, closing the door behind her.
As she expected, it wasn't long before a soft knock rapped on the door. Lin opened it, stepping aside to let Kya though.
"Did I embaress you?" Kya asked, looking to Lin. Lin scoffed.
"Yeah, but I think I'll be fine." Kya's lips stretched into a grin. Lin pursed her lips, leaning against the sink when Kya pressed her chest against hers.
"Ready to get out of here?" The waterbender asked. Lin nodded,
"I've been ready the whole night." Kya laughed.
"I know you have." Kya took Lin by the hand, the two of them snuck passed those who remained at the party and up the narrow stairs of the Air temple, celebrating by themselves for the rest of the night.

Have you seen Asami?
Hi everyone! I usually don’t post my stuff, just repost, but I have a new obsession: Korrasami. And this small story came to my mind and won’t let go! So...here it is. English is not my mother tonge, so I apologize for all the mistakes! And I hope you enjoy!
_____________________________________
“Have you seen Asami?” Korra asked, interrupting the tea time of Tenzin and Pema. Tenzin raised a eyebrow, he thought that at least had teach Korra how to greet people politely.
“Good afternoon to you too, Korra.” Said the airbender with sarcasm, making the Avatar frowned, a little bit confused. “No, we didn’t see your girlfriend.”
“Asks the kids, they’re training over there.” Answer Pema kindly, pointing to the back of the temple. “Thanks, Pema.” Said Korra sticking out the tongue to her air master.
Indeed, Jinora, Ikki and Meelo were training, or at least trying. As always they were a good team, but a messy one.
“Korra!” Yelled the three kids when they saw their not-bloodrelated big sister. “Hey kids! How´s the training?”
“I can’t wait to Rohan to be old enough to train. Then it will be just the boys: him, me and Poki.” Said Meelo, always complaing about his sisters, even if he loves them.
“How can we help you, Korra?” Jinora was the most controled of the three childrens of Tenzin. “Have you seen Asami?”
“Yes, she was here just a minute ago.”
“Meelo tried to steal your girlfriend.” Accused Ikki with a laugh. Korra raise an eyebrown with the hands on her hips. Meelo blushed. “You can’t blame a boy for trying.” He said with a shrug. “Actually I can. She’s my girlfriend, and I thought you were my friend.” Meelo smiled with what he thinks is a seductive smile. A very childish one. “I’m you friend Korra. Always. But she’s so...”
“Adult. And you’re a child. Better don’t finish that sentence.” Cut Korra laughing. “You’re lucky you’re the Avatar, if not, I’ve already would had steal the girl.”
“So now she’s just with me because I’m the Avatar? Lucky me.” Laugh Korra with a sigh. “Where did she go?”
“I think I saw her with Mako on the terrace of the temple.” Remember Ikki. Korra narrowed her eyes. On the terrace? That was their place. “Thanks kids.”
“Don’t worry Korra, if I couldn’t steal her, Mako has no chance.” Yelled Meelo, gaining a punch on the head from her older sister.
Mako did was on the terrace, but again, no sign of Asami. Where in the spirits hell was her girlfriend?
“Hey Mako”
“Hey Avatar”
“Had you´ve been with Asami?”
“Yes, she just left with Bolin.” Now Bolin? What happens with Asami? Korra felt like all day she’s been a minute late for the tallest brunette.
“Is everything ok?” Asked the firebender.
“Yeah, yeah, sure.” Answerd Korra, with an idly hand gesture, distracted. Everything was ok....right?
Bolin was with Opal, admiring her air powers like it was the first time. He was always so excited about everything, but mostly when it’s involve Opal. They were way too better match than with Korra’s crazy cousin, that’s for sure.
“Hey couple, how are you?”
“Look honey, the Avatar is here.” Said Bolin, exagerating on purpose. After the fight with Kuvira he had been teasing Korra with small reverences everytime he saw her. The first ten times maybe it was funny, now? not so much. “Where’s your other half?” Ask her friend, looking over her shoulder like Asami was coming behind the Avatar.
“Yeah, same question. Mako told me was with you.” Korra pointed Bolin a little bit mad. Are all of them playing with her? It’s was all of this a big joke?
“Yeah, but she left...”
“Let me guess, a minute ago?”
“Yeah! I thought she went with you.”
“Not even close, Bolin.”
“I’m sure she’s also looking for you, Korra.” Said Opal with a tender smile, making Korra narrow eyes again. “Do you know something I should know?” The Avatar didn’t miss how the couple share a look.
“Of course not, my dearest Avatar. My good Korra, how could you think something like that? My beloved Korrasami, I’m your friend, right?”
“How did you call me?”
Bolin look at Opal, clearly asking for a saving hand of that conversation. Opal laugh, that was her boyfriend, yes sir. “Bolin just trying to say there’s nothing we should tell you.”
“Then where’s Asami?” Asked Korra for the millionth time, pouting. “Maybe she’s watching the new airbenders traing.”
A new group of airbenders, this time all kids not older than six, had arrived the temple a few weeks ago, and now everything was a lot more caothic.
And, finally, there was Asami, looking at the kids, amused, while Bumi tried to teach them.
“Hey stranger.” Greet Korra, hugging the brunette from behind with a small kiss under the ear. “Hi, love.” Asami smile at her with such tender in her eyes. “Where had you´ve been?” Asked the Avatar trying not to sound needy.
“Looking for you.”
“No, I was looking for you. You were....everywhere but with me.” Korra pouted dramatically, making her girlfriend laugh and kiss her nose.
“Maybe I have bussines to do....” Laugh Asami.
“With Mako and Bolin?”
“Oh spirits, are you jealous?”
“Of course not! I just missed you.” Asami turns in Korra’s arms and kiss her. “There’s something I want to ask you...” Start the owner of Future Industries, but then all the kids saw the Avatar was there.
“Loooooook! is the Avatar!!” That’s been happening since all the kids arrive at the temple. All the small ones runs towards Korra, too excited, using their new powers to be faster. A very bad idea, of course. A wild wind push Asami over the cliff.
“Asami!!” Scream Korra, jumping behind with no hesitation. The Avatar catch the woman, bending the air, landing gently on a mountain ledge.
“Are you ok?” Asks Korra, worried, caressing Asami’s cheeks with a soft hand, looking for some possible injuries. Asami kiss that hand. “I’m always perfect with you, my love.” Korra blushed. “Well...I try.” The Avatar scratch her neck, like everytime she’s nervous. “I hope you don’t want to ask me if I want kids, after what just happens.” Laugh the Avatar, trying to look like a normal conversation not happening in the wall of a mountain.
“For all the spirits, no.” Asami also laugh. “Maybe in a few years.... But not now.” Korra open wide eyes, for her girlfriend amusement. “No, I’m just gonna ask you... Well, I wanna ask you... Just if you want, of course...” Now Asami was the only nervous on that ledge. Korra grabs her chin, making Asami look directly at her warm eyes, and smile. “Tell me.”
“Giiiiirrrrrlllllsssss!!! I saw you fall! Are you okey?” Bolin, of course, looking at them from the edge, meters over the two girls. Korra look at him, angry.
“Can we have some privacy, pretty please?”
“But you fell....”
“We’re alive, right? I’m the damn Avatar, don’t have to worry!”
“Love, don’t get mad, friends do worry.” Said Asami taking her hands, caressing them with one finger.
“I’ve been looking for you all day, and I’m only get a private moment with you because you fell from the mountain. I think is too much if they also took this from us.” Asami laugh hard and loud, grabs Korra’s face and kiss her, with decision, pasionately.
“What would I do without you?” Asks Asami with a wide, bright smile. Korra look at her spellbound, hipnotized by Asami’s smile and lovinly gaze. “You would surely fall from fewer mountains.” Answers the Avatar, still enchanted by the kiss.
“You two aaaaaareeeee sooooooo cuuuuuuteeeeee. Right honey? they remind me of us.” Bolin still was watching from the edge. “Bolin!!” Screams Korra, moving the earth under her friend to create a small wall that keep him away from the edge of the mountain. A while, at least.
“I would never regret to fall for you, my love.” The one that almost fell from the ledge was Korra after that words. But Asami doesn’t let her react to that. “But I was trying to tell you something...” A little bit nervous again. “What I was trying to say...to ask you, is....if you want, maybe... Would you like to move with me?”
Yep, Korra wasn’t specting that. Not at all. “Like....to your house?”
Asami wasn’t looking at her, moving her hands, even more nervous than before. “Well, that’s was I was talking with Bolin, his family has return to Earth Kingdom, so we’ll be all alone. If you want, of course. A…and…and my house is huge, we dont have to spent all the time togheher if you don’t like. We don’t even have to sleep in the same bed...or in the same room. We’ll have plenty. You’ll have a lot of space for training, or for, whatever you want. And I’m counting with Naga, of course.”
She was rambling, that’s for sure. Korra was having a hard time keeping her laugh, she has never saw Asami so unsure. But why so unsure? Nonsense.
“You mean, without Tenzin, without Jinora, Ikki and Meelo the stealer? Without small airbenders? Without Mako and Bolin? Just the two of us? Plus Naga.” Asami finally look into Korra’s eyes. “Is a bad idea, right?”
“My amazing girlfriend and my enormous polar bear dog, all alone in a mansion full of surfaces to explore? No Naga in that last picture, obvious.” Was the time for Asami to blush.
“Korra, you mean...?”
“Let’s pack! Or even without packing, I can’t wait to live you you!”
The Avatar was radiant of happiness, full and completely happy with the idea of share a house, a life, with the woman she loves. “Only one thing...” Korra said, raising one finger. Asami listen. “That thing about not sharing a bed was a joke, right?”
The laugh of ms.Sato echoes all over the mountain. “Are you sure about this, Korra?”
“Never been so sure about anything else. I wish we had done it before.” Asami leans towars Korra, hands in the Avatar’s chest.
“What did she say? She said yes?” Obviously Bolin tear apart the wall time ago and was watching them again. Korra could have spit fire to him if is wasn’t for Asami, who laugh again.
“She said yes.”
“I told you! I want a party when you move! We have to celebrate.” Opal was besides him, softly laughing, she knows her boyfriend was very inopportune and was interrupting a very personal moment, but she love him that way. Is not like there’s something she can do, of course.
Korra ignore them, hidding herself in Asami’s hug, feeling already in home. “Why are you so perfect? I’m so lucky.”
“I’m the lucky one. Avatar’s girlfriend, remember?” Korra laughed against Asami’s chest.
“True. Meelo said the same. Being the Avatar is my only charm, aparently.”
“That and your amazing abs.” Whisper Asami in Korra’s ear, amused.
“I think I need to have you out of here. Now.”
“I agree, love.”
The Avatar look deep in her girlfriend’s eyes. “Thank you, Asami. Not just this, everything since I knew you. I really am the luckiest Avatar ever.”
Two hands pulls Korra closer by the hips, crashing in a tender but pasionate kiss that grew quickly. There’s was fire and it wasn’t for Korra’s powers.
“Asami, I...I...”
There was so much feeling in the Avatar’s chest to expres it in just three words. But she want to tell, she wants Asami to know, to feel what she feel. But there wasn’t enough words in the world. All the feelings was stuck in her throath.
“Me too, Korra. So much.”
Korra push Asami against the wall when she kissed her again, incapalble of stoped herself. That woman awaked every cell in her body, every nook in her soul.
“Giiiiirrrrrsssssllll!! Do you need me to go there and help you get back here?”
“I swear I’m gonna kill him.” Laugh Korra biting Asami’s lips. “Later, now let’s get out here.”
The Avatar touch Asami’s mouth one last time with her fingertips. She has no words to expres all her feelings, but can prove it, they have a full live for that, right? Both woman smile each other and jumps at the air. Their new home was waiting.

1. Does Yue have a nickname for Zuko? (baby, babe, etc) I like how in the beginning of the story Zuko calls Yue "Babe" and as time goes on and they become closer and Zuko gets more comfortable and possessive he calls her "my baby" *sobs*. Also how would he react if Yue were to really really baby him? 2. Does Zuko get his dragon he has in Legend of Korra during Limerence? 3. When you write/read Limerence, do you imagine the voice of Dante Basco for Zuko or another one? -🐋
Oh, hello 🐋-anon.
Told you I’d finally answer your asks 🤭
1. So Yue doesn’t have nicknames for Zuko, like how Zuko does for her!
There’s only two times where Yue refers to Zuko other than his name (technically three, if we count Fire Lord Zuko when things get spicy 👀)
Yue does call Zuko, Zuzu, whenever she wishes to tease him and they’re with Kiyi. But Yue doesn’t adopt this nickname for themselves because the name has such a familial tone it would feel strange to make the cute name into something between them.
Now, Yue does call Zuko ‘my baby’ in her thoughts whenever she sees him overworked or stressed. Seeing Zuko in such a negative state always hurts her, but she never really vocalizes her endearment, she usually sticks with Zuko.
The reason why Yue doesn’t use words of endearment with Zuko is that it just doesn’t really suit him and his ego. That’s not to say Zuko won’t like it, because he would, but that is just it.
Zuko has such a naturally strong, dominant personality, that saying such a soft word of affection would be embarrassing for him, even between them. It’s kind of like how Yue thinks Zuko is adorable in the morning, still super sleepy with his lil’ pout - but she wouldn’t dare say a thing to him, even though Zuko knows exactly what she is thinking. Just the look in her eyes and the way she smiles is enough for him to know, which is is why Yue doesn’t have to say boo.
The way she says Zuko makes Zuko love his name in ways he never thought he would, and it is because of that, Yue doesn’t bother with the nicknames.
But I’m happy you notice how Zuko changes the way he refers to Yue as their relationship develops. He’s no longer beating around the bush, he just bluntly hugs her and says ‘mine.’ 😂
Honestly, I don’t think Zuko would like Yue babying him as much as pampering!
It boils down to Zuko’s essence.
He’s extremely independent, like frustratingly independent. He’s always doing something, working on something, the prime example of action-oriented. It is because of his natural drive to do things for himself, that Yue babying him wouldn’t make him as happy as pampering.
Yue giving him a massage at the end of the day, setting a bath and washing his hair, cuddling him while he reads a book - these are things Zuko would much rather enjoy than Yue babying him.
Zuko doesn’t know how to relax, and he doesn’t seem like the type to spoil himself. So having Yue just go up to him, plant a kiss on his lips and say, “You worked so hard today, I’m proud” goes a long way. Zuko is always so critical of himself, and Yue treating him and being by his side is honestly the best thing Zuko could ask for.
Something really important to note, and easily missed, is that Yue never tells Zuko that she wants to take on his responsibilities for herself and do his stuff, but that she wants to help. It’s something really small, and appears trivial and honestly, sounds like the same thing - but they’re two very different statements.
2. Zuko’s dragon...
I’m not going to deny the fact that in later chapters an adorable baby dragon may make an appearance and cause a bit of chaos 👀*coughbonus:teddybearadventurescough*
3. So, I actually don’t hear Dante Basco's voice in my head, necessarily (but I know a lot of people do!).
I kind of picture his voice, but a lot huskier and raspy.
As if his pitch is coming from his lower throat, belly area, so it’s very low and has this seductive vibrato to it. Kind of like when you groan with your lips shut and it's very deep (I swear I sound like a crazy person making sounds to capture what I’m trying to describe LOOL)
I don’t have a specific voice actor in mind at all, to be honest. I kind of made one up in my own head 😂😂

4 for Korrasami
Smutember day 4 - Oral
Korrasami (LoK), E, 1.4k
(Ao3)
If you liked my story, here’s a Ko-fi link if you’d be so kind ❤️.
============================================
Korra watched as wide door to the spacious bedroom of Sato mansion open up, revealing her stunning girlfriend behind them. No matter how restrained and cool she would like to be, she had to take a deeper breath when she saw Asami in a long, see-through night gown showing her delicate, black-and-red lingerie underneath.
Asami saw Korra's reddened face and graced her with a charming smile, as she continued her seductive walk towards their bed, accentuating her every step, until she reached her side and let Korra ogle her half-naked body with a giddy smile plastered all over her. In contrast, her regular Water Tribe outfit, combined with the short hair made her only more alluring, and she couldn't wait when she would sneak her lips between her folds.
Never taking eyes from her girlfriend, she lifted her gown and climbed onto the bed, quickly getting on all fours, crawling towards the enamoured Avatar, mesmerised by her feline-like moves. it wasn't long before Asami settled herself in Korra's laps and let out a moan when Korra's hands closed behind her back, already trying to undo some of the more complicated ties and knots of her delicate lingerie.
- Patience, Korra...
Asami cupped her face and kissed her, knowing well she would prefer to dig her teeth into the small strip that joined the cups of her bra. Korra let out a prolonged moan, as Asami's fragrant perfumes reached her nostrils and made her even more lightheaded, to the point when the most powerful bender in the world was easily toppled with a gentle push of Asami's hand.
trying to act cool, Korra lifted part of her blue one-piece night outfit, revealing her breasts and muscular chest, and in turn Asami mimicked her moves dropping the see-through night-gown. Without waiting for Korra to exit her trance, her bra found its way to the floor as well, leaving just her panties and stockings, as Asami crawled towards the grounded Avatar, effortlessly sliding between her legs.
Asami cupped Korra's face and their lips joined in a quick kiss, as the Sato heiress had quite a journey ahead of her. She anticipated Korra's shivering after she kissed her jawline, and concentrated on her firm breasts. She looked up at her and leaned towards her left mound, feeling her girlfriend's body jolt when the feeling of her warm breath and wet tongue around her nipple created an electrifying reaction that tore Korra's body.
And while she caressed her left mound with her mouth, performing larger and larger circles with her tongue, she toyed the right one with her thumb, at least before her meticulous wider motions reached the valley between her cups and prompts Asami to switch sides.
Somewhere down below, Asami felt Korra's impatience manifest itself in in a less-than-subtle form of legs twitching, whch only prompted her to slow down her moves. After she was done caressing her breasts, she began her long trek down her abs, making sure to leave a mark of her red lips on each muscle that also twitched underneath her lips.
Above her, Korra was moaning, throwing her head back every once in a while to stop her fingers digging into Asami's perfect hair. She knew that looking at her radiant girlfriend would only hasten her desire to take charge, so she tried to find solace in the canopy above their four-poster bed. And then she realised that Asami wore lingerie that matched not just the colours, but the pattern of the material that decorated their bed.
Fortunately for Korra, Asami knew she shouldn't be torturing her girlfriend too long, and she placed the final kiss just above her enticing entrance, letting out a murmur of appreciation.
Their eyes met, and Asami sent her a charming smile, just before she disappeared between her legs to perform first, long lick, tasting the droplets of Korra's soaking folds. Korra's legs flexed, and the Avatar nearly arched her back, but a gentle touch of Asami's hands on her thighs has calmed her, though her next moves put Korra's patience and restraints to the test.
Asami was peppering Korra's sex with delicate, short kisses, trying to cover as much area with her lipstick that was slowly wearing out. She made sure to caress both center of her sex, as well the area at the base of her thighs that nearly caused Korra to perform a would-be kicks, as she was particularly sensitive there.
Not risking a battle with the Avatar, she concentrated on her puffy lips and folds, suckling each one between her lips as if they were were juicy fruits. She deliberately left her opening alone, though her thumbs often journeyed to the very base of her folds, missing it just by a fraction of an inch, knowing well how to delay her climax.
The pillows Korra was holding onto were ready to burst underneath her tight grip, but at the same time, though on one hand she would like to beg Asami for a quick release, Korra wouldn't trade it off for it. The meticulous nature of Asami's butterfly kisses made her wish she was as good at performing oral, and each time Asami went down on her, Korra treated it as a great lesson in love-making.
And just when she thought that, Asami looked up at her with a flirtatious smile, just before her tongue curled and slid inside her, lapping hungrily her juices she's been producing. Korra howled and spread her legs further, as if trying to invite Asami deeper, though her girlfriend was penetrating her hole at her own pace, occasionally inviting a finger or two to help her with her folds.
Her moaning, vibrating through her lips only hastened Korra's breathing, making her chest rise up and down in rapid motion. She braced herself, knowing that if Asami won't finish her off soon, she would go crazy from the amount of stimulation she was putting her through.
And hearing her wordless, ragged pleas, Asami did just that; she retracted her tongue and closed her mouth around her clit, circling her delicate nub with the tip of her tongue. She hoped to close her eyes and hear Korra cry her name, but instead, she got something far wilder.
Korra threw hew head back, and together with Asami's name came also a spout of fire that consumed the entire canopy, and only when Korra heard Asami's cry and realised what she'd done, she waved her hand at the nearby vase throwing the water inside at the fire, causing a small localised rain to fall onto their heads a few minutes later.
And though the damage above looked bad, it was incomparable to the one below. Asami's perfect hair and make-up were soaking wet, not to mention the soggy state of her expensive erotic clothing and their bedsheets.
- Oh, no, I-I messed it up.
Insensitively, Korra put her hands together and tried blowing the excess of water with airbending, but if anything, she made it worse, as Asami's wet hair now looked like a cat that has been forcibly cleaned and escaped half-way through the process.
- A-Asami, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry...
Korra hid her face in her hands and turned away from her girlfriend, fully expecting her hate her for ruining their evening. But instead, she felt her arm around her shoulder, and a delicate kiss on her cheek.
- Hey. - she spoke to her, with a smile on her face - Don't worry, it's nothing. - But... I made you look horrible... - Eh, my hair got worse after dates with you.
The two burst into laughter, and as their lips got closer, it turned into a soothing kiss, one that Korra was leading and with each second, she gained more confidence, until Asami found herself underneath her.
- Want to feel the same?
Korra's lips curled into a confident, sly smile, which faded away quite quickly when Asami realised that Korra wanted to go down on her.
- Er, honey, uhm, don't get me wrong, I love you, and I love you the way you are, but... uh... maybe let's do the strap-on?
The two looked up at the ruined canopy of their bed.
- Yeah, it's probably better.

KorrAsami Fanfiction
JK I’m not really Zuko
In honor of KorrAsami’s 6th Year Anniversary, I’m sharing a short unfinished fan-fiction I’ve been working on since finishing the series for the second time.
I’m not sure how this moment fits within Turf Wars/Ruins, but I’m picturing this as not too long after Korra and Asami return from their Spirit World vacation (maybe right after the events of Turf Wars end?), where Asami and Korra decide to move in together. Enjoy!
(I tried to fix the formatting but Tumblr is annoying)
----
"I thought you said you were going to get something quaint?" Korra said sarcastically as she excitedly bounded through the apartment.
Asami giggled sheepishly, "I guess quaint isn't quite the right word, huh? It is smaller than the Sato Mansion..."
“Are you kidding? This view is amazing!” Korra chuckled as she ran towards a large open glass door that lead to a balcony that wrapped around the front of the apartment. Her bright blue eyes glinted with the reflection in front in front of her.
Their new apartment had a sweeping view of Republic City’s Yue Bay. The late summer sunset’s pink rays glittering warmly on the gentle swells. In the far distance she could also see Kyoshi Bridge, and Air Temple Island. Just a bit closer, was her past self proudly staring back at the city, seemingly admiring his accomplishment. Korra couldn't help but wonder if that was still the case - she wished she could ask.
Korra’s eyes then fell upon the ruins left in the wake of Kuviras attack. Her hand absentmindedly found the back of her head, “Er - if you look past the destroyed parts…”
“Think of it as an opportunity to make things even better that before!” Asami said walking up behind Korra and placing her hands on her shoulders.
“I actually already have some ideas in mind that I have to share with Zhu Li,” Asami added. Her hand found her chin as she looked at the shambles in the distance, her brow furrowed. Korra could almost see the gears in Asami's head churning.
Before Asami found a reason to disappear in her office for a few hours Korra interrupted her machinations. “How long do you think we’ll stay here?"
Korra and Asami found that after their fateful vacation in the Spirit World, they now had a new need for privacy that they didn’t really have before.
The White Lotus members on Air Temple Island were still dutifully protecting Korra on Tenzin and Tonraq’s orders despite Korra’s fervent objections. They argued that extra security couldn’t hurt.
Korra and Asami were able to sneak away from them for a few brief moments of alone time, but eventually they would see or hear a White Lotus member lurking nearby. Although Asami was able to laugh at these moments, Korra was growing increasingly frustrated and Asami felt sorry for the White Lotus members that were being constantly chewed out by her angry girlfriend. Not to mention that when Tenzin’s kids were around, they clung to Korra like elbow leeches.
Asami's childhood home was now home to Mako, Bolin and practically all their known relatives. A lot of them having a hard time finding jobs in the Republic City job market. Although Ba Sing Se was a large and unforgiving city, and Mako's family had it rough there too, Republic City was also a harsh place to thrive in; Asami didn't want to rush them while they figured things out.
But mostly she felt haunted by the ghosts of her father and mother in those hallways – particularly now after her father's recent and gruesome death. She wasn’t ready to go back there even if there was a spare room available somewhere on the estate.
Asami shook the painful loss of her parents out of her head before Korra noticed a change in her expression, "I think we may be here for a while," Asami smiled tentatively.
Korra didn't say anything, instead gently smiling back and moving closer to Asami. She gave Asami a light but meaningful peck on the cheek and looked deeply into her eyes, "Anywhere can be home as long as I'm with you."
Asami was sure that Korra noticed Asami trying to hide those painful thoughts. Korra always seemed to notice these things, especially nowadays.
Asami grabbed Korra’s hands and smiled, "I love you." She kissed Korra. Every time they kissed it was electric. A lightning bolt coursed through her body.
Korra too felt this rush of energy flowing through from the moment their lips made contact. She felt like her entire spirit was being undone. Like she could float away into the heavens if she wasn't tethered to the Earth by some force. By Asami.
Suddenly feeling vulnerable but at the same time electrified, Korra pulled away suddenly and bounded out the open glass door. For a second, Asami tensed up as Korra jumped and disappeared in a gust of wind. A few moments later she heard Korra from somewhere above the doorframe, "Wow this place is unbelievable!”
Asami sometimes forgot that despite Korra's appearance, as an airbender she was extremely light on her feet and capable of near flight, but Korra's recklessness and impulsivity still sometimes caught her by surprise.
Korra's head hilariously popped upside down from the top of the door frame. Her hair blowing upside down in the cool evening breeze. "Care to join me?" She asked extending an arm out for Asami to grab.
"You know we have stair-,” Asami was caught off-guard by the ease in which Korra, hanging upside down by a fixture using her legs, was able to pull her up and over the railings above their balcony. They both landed lightly on a small lush garden created by spirit vines.
"Yeah but this is more fun,” Korra said cheekily.
Thick green vines ran up and around the side of the building, creating a private yet open green space that was only accessible to their apartment. Asami picked this place knowing that Korra would love coming up here to meditate.
Asami and Korra spent a long moment sitting on the rooftop spirit garden watching the fading sunlight be replaced by the vibrant city lights.
While some parts of the city were currently almost in complete darkness, illuminated only by the golden aura of the new Republic City spirit portal, other sections of the city seemed to be doing their best to carry on as normal. For this reason Korra felt hopeful for the future of Republic City.
Occasionally a friendly spirit would appear near them and say hello. One spirit sat with them for a while. It enthusiastically spoke of all the positive changes the opening of the spirit portals has brought to the world. This brought Korra some much needed comfort. It jovially waved goodbye as it faded away and promised to visit often.
Eventually Korra and Asami's conversations turned to silence. They wordlessly sat with their fingers loosely intertwined, listening only to the distant hustle and bustle noises of Republic City night life.
Their silence was not because of lack of topics, as the two lovers never ran out of things to talk about, but because both of them were wordlessly appreciating how wonderful this moment felt. How at peace they both felt. How perfectly balanced they now were.
A low grumble brought them back to reality. Asami's head turned towards Korra, who returned her amused look with the crooked smirk she loved.
"You heard that, huh?"
"You worked so hard moving all our stuff in today. You must be hungry," Asami said understandably.
"Starving, actually." Korra said rubbing her stomach looking forlorn. Korra was always ready to eat.
Asami and Korra decided to make their way back into the apartment. “So, what's for dinner?" Korra asked excitedly.
"I was thinking of this restaurant nearby that serves authentic Fire Nation food - how's that sound? I say we order in tonight."
"Perfect! I haven't had fire nation food since I met with Firelord Zuko before I—”, Korra trailed off, feeling embarrassed again.
"Before you took a much needed break to heal from all the trauma you've been through these past few years?" Asami cautiously joked. "I know it's hard, but I try to stop feeling guilty about that. You did what was best for you in that moment and that’s OK."
Korra smiled, "Thanks. I'm still struggling to come to peace with it all, but I’ll get there."
"Take all the time you need," Asami said gently. "But don't you dare leave me without any warning again! I WILL hunt you down, Avatar." She jokingly threatened, while pointing a finger at Korra.
Korra laughed, "Easy there, Sato! I swear I'm not going anywhere without you ever again."
---
Asami and Korra decided to change into more comfortable clothes while they waited for their food delivery.
Once in sleepwear, they sat on the only available piece of furniture in the entire apartment: a bare mattress thrown onto the living room floor by Korra despite the movers offering to bring it up, as they were contracted to do.
Korra heavily dropped onto the mattress on her back and Asami joined her, lying across the mattress sideways and looking longingly at Korra.
Their eyes met. Korra heart skipped a beat. She wasn’t sure if Asami knew just how beautiful and alluring she was. Everything she did was unintentionally - or maybe in some cases somewhat intentionally - seductive.
“So, ah- what should we do while we wait? We don’t even have a radio hooked up yet…” Korra noticed how the silky fabric of Asami's nightgown hugged her curves. She tried to control where and for how long her eyes wavered over Asami’s body.
“I don’t even know where my pai sho set is in all these boxes,” Asami said sitting up and looking around.
They were surrounded by boxes and luggage, most of them belonging to Asami. Korra always knew that Asami had a lot of stuff, but this move made her realize that even more. It took Korra one trip to carry all her own possessions into the apartment from the moving truck. She lost count how long it took to get Asami's assortment of beauty supplies, clothes, gadgets, tools, paperwork, and other things upstairs.
Asami then stretched over and across Korra’s body to look in an open box near her. Korra’s breath caught in her throat as she shamelessly studied Asami’s figure reaching over her.
Asami rummaged in the box for longer than necessary. At that point they both knew the pai sho set was not in that particular box.
Korra noticed Asami’s cheeks were a bit red now. Her breath quickened. Make your move now, Avatar! Korra thought to herself.
Before Korra could act, Asami finally stopped looking through the box and turned to Korra, “It’s uh-it’s not there.” Her whole body flush and warm, and her eyes expectant.
Without any thought and without any hesitation, Korra sat up and hungrily kissed Asami.

How to Learn (Part 2): Obstacles of Learning 1
Now that we've gone over what learning is, how it works and why we forget, we're going to explore the obstacles we encounter when we try to learn something and when we try to remember things we've learned.
There are 5 major obstacles to all learning:
1) Distraction 2) ? 3) ?? 4) ??? 5) ????
(the remaining 4 will be revealed in future parts)
Much like how every hero has a nemesis. These obstacles each have specific targets in the learning or remembering processes that they attack. We are going to go over how they work, what they target, and how to overcome them so that we can learn how to identify them and defeat them when they appear. This time we will go over the first obstacle: Distraction.
Distraction
We all already know what distraction is. A distraction is literally anything that takes your attention away from what you should be focused on learning. Whether it is your phone ringing, your family trying to get you to do something or a funny meme you see on social media. If it got you to 'look away' from your target in any way, you've lost.
It goes without saying that this targets every area of learning and remembering but is most devastating when it targets the sensory period of learning because how're you gonna finally learn how to play the guitar when you're too busy playing League of Legends or whatever the 2020 equivalent of Angry Birds is.
I think of a distraction like a normal everyday thing that has suddenly been brainwashed by enemy forces. The object's sole purpose now is to ensure I am not learning what I should be whether by seduction or stress.
We have all experienced distractions in these forms before. While they work in different ways, their goal is will remain the same. So let's take a look at how they operate.
Seductive distractions
Seductive distractions are the unproductive things we love to do: watching YouTube, ranting on Reddit, watch self-development and anime discussion videos, etc. They are effective because most of us have been conditioned to think of learning anything as boring. So why would you want to do something boring when you can rewatch all four seasons of Legend of Korra which you have done several times since it ended in 2014.
There are several ways you can beat seductive distractions. You can:
- use pure willpower to drag your attention from the siren's song and back to learning whatever it is you want to learn. - you can modify your environment by banishing these distractions and therefore removing their influence. - make what you are learning more attractive for you to do than any of those other things by making it more interesting or more fun. - Any combination of all of the above.
Stressful distractions
Stressful distractions are things that cause create pressure and anxiety forcing you to pay attention to them. This happens because stress by nature makes you focus on it by putting you in survival mode.
Remember those feelings you had when you had a school assignment and you procrastinated (because of all of the enticing seductive distractions) until the last second and then you put all your mind, heart and body into finishing the assignment in a one-shot, mad dash race before the sun comes up. That last part of realizing you had no time to do this important thing you should have put you in survival mode and in that state, no TV show, game or phone message even registered on your radar.
Now I used this example because it's a visceral example most can remember. So imagine you in that state because of a stressful distraction caused by love, heartbreak, adult pressures, childhood traumas, conflict, death or anything else you can think of. Suddenly, your reasoning or ability to focus on what you should be learning or to remember something has left your awareness because all your emotional and cognitive energy is left in chaos.
Now because stressful distractions use your emotions and survival instinct against you, the best way to defeat it is to:
1) Find and use coping methods that help you destress and turn down the volume on your emotions. (Like meditation, mindfulness, and breath work.)
2) Analyze the stressor and decide if it is something within your control or not. If it in your control to fix, then do so, so you can return to your learning. If it is not, then you must make peace with it because it doesn't make sense to worry about that you don't have control over, then return to learning.
Now it should be said that desire and stress both come in different forms and can vary in intensity. But if you don't remember any of this the first time you read it, remember this:
If you want to defeat distraction, you need to be able to have the awareness to catch it when it appears, identify what it's doing and then beat it at its own game.
And if you can manage to remember a second thing: Prevention is better than cure. If you can prevent the distractions from being able to pop up, then you definitely should.
Next Time: Obstacle of Learning #2- Multitasking
Special Thanks to Ken Gomes :)

Day 6: Mafia
Fandom: Legend of Korra
Ship: Baavira
Words: 2060
Summary: Don’t mess with the Beifongs, for mercy isn’t given out freely.
A/N: I hope you all enjoy my teaser fic for my The Sinners Walks These Streets series. It’s a Mafia AU I’ve actually been developing for years now; be sure to closely look out for a series of oneshots and a multi-chaptered fic. I won’t reveal too much details just yet, but feel free to send me asks about it~
[AO3]
This was great, just dandy and real wonderful; the night surely couldn’t get any better at this point onward. Baatar had his phone in his hand, staring down at the darkened screen with a vacant look on his face. It took a moment for his brain to process what just happened, a frustrated sigh left his lips when his charger was nowhere to be found before throwing his phone over to the backseat of his car where it landed next to his Switch…that’d died on him too. His arms were crossed together, leaning back against his seat. “You said the guy would be here tonight.” Baatar uttered dully while checking on the time for the umpteenth time of the night. They’ve been sitting here since eleven at night—it’s almost three in the morning.
“I never did said what time he’ll show up, did I now?” Kuvira drawled out, not looking up at him as she filed her nails.
“Are you sure he’s going to show up?” He turned his attention out of the window, his nose almost wrinkling at the sight of it all. It’s cold and wet out there, looking like it stinks of rain and shit but a shitty weather is the least of everyone’s concern. Anyone who has ever lived here are aware of the dangers of living in this city and how these streets are filled with the lowest of the low scums, how lazy the cops are and who don’t know how to do their jobs properly, and the leading people of this city are corrupted and were all mere puppets to the ones who are actually controlling this city. But to both Baatar and Kuvira, this was home.
“Trust me, he will,” Kuvira said as she shot him a look, taking her compact mirror out. “Why don’t you vape? Or maybe play some music?” She suggested, fixing her hair.
Well he would, but he unfortunately left his favorite vape pen back at the club. He relented to her other suggestion, doing what he was told to do when he turned the stereo on. Music immediately blared out from the speakers, wincing when the entire car practically shook before he lowered the volume down to a level that won’t ruin his hearing. He looked over to Kuvira to see she’s unfazed, watching her reapply her makeup on. He’s being half-honest when he says this, good for her that she has something to do to keep herself entertained and occupied, unlike him, there is not much for him to do. All he can do now is to sit and wait, counting how many people came by—which is zero. This part of town is empty, abandoned for quite awhile and hardly anyone ever comes here. It was a perfect place for business.
“Your screams will whisper,” Kuvira sang along with the music, “hang on you, twisted transistor.”
He’s hard now, blushing. He started to slide down in his seat ever so slightly, listening to her sing; she has always been quite good at it. Her voice was angelic and soft, but there was nothing gentle and sweet – the song itself was far from sweet – in her tone. It sounded almost malicious as if she was hinting for what is going to come. Frankly, it was sexy—oh yeah, he’s definitely turned on.
“You’re staring,” Kuvira said, smirking as she shut her compact mirror. She turned to him, looking at him with a raised brow. “Is there something you would like to share with me?” She asked.
Baatar shook his head several times, looking away from her piercing gaze. He said nothing to her, covering his mouth with his hand while bouncing his leg up and down. His face was red, oh there is no point in hiding it, she definitely knows.
“Don’t be so shy,” she said to him teasingly, leaning closer to him with her chest pushed up to his view, showing off her cleavage. “You don’t have to be, we’ve been so close for so long.” Her voice became more seductive, resting a hand on his chest. She could feel how tense he became, seeing how his throat bobbed and how his eyes would look over to her chest, and seeing him rubbing his hands up and down on his lap. Oh she knew that look on his face, grinning when she leaned up to his ear.
“Want me to suck your cock?” Her breath was hot, tracing the shell of his ear with her lips and felt him shivering. She started to rub his chest slowly, moving her mouth down to his jaw, leaving tiny kisses and nips; her hand moved down to his groin where she cupped his member. “You’re hard.” She purred.
“Oh do shut up.” He couldn’t take it anymore, groaning and shifted in his seat. He grinded against her hand, the night has been long and he was tired, not having the patience to deal with her damn teasing. “Blow me, will you?”
“I would,” Kuvira smiled, leaning back with her attention shifting away from him to the window, “it seems our guest of honor has finally arrived.”
“What?!” Baatar cried out incredulously, his attention shifted to the window too. “For fuck’s sake, the bastard decides to finally show up!” He growled, annoyed.
“Let’s get to business now,” she said, pulling out her handgun.
“I…I thought we were just here to talk,” he commented, eyeing the weapon.
“Oh we are.” She cocked her gun. “We’re here to deal with this traitor on the orders of your mom.”
Damn traitors, when will they ever learn? This wouldn’t be the first they’re dealing with such nor is this the last, some hard lessons obviously still needs to be learned. People truly are dumb enough to betray his family – one of the most elite clan to be fear – despite the many warnings. “Shouldn’t we wait for Wei and Wing?”
“Your brothers are busy right now with their own little assignment, but don’t you worry,” she said, getting out of the car. “I’m the muscle.”
“Let’s just get this over and done with,” he said, following her out of the car.
“Hey, Han!”
The man named Han turned to the voice who called out to him, seeing Kuvira was making her way over to him, confused to see here. He was supposed to be meeting with—his eyes slowly widened, what the hell is she doing here?! Unless… ‘Oh no, no, no.’ He’s in a deep shit of trouble. He turned, taking off—
BANG!
Han grimaced, stopping in his tracks. He didn’t get the chance to even move, turning slowly to see Kuvira had her gun raised up in the air. She brought the barrel down to her lips, delicately blowing the smoke away.
“I didn’t give you permission to leave,” she said, her voice as cold as ice. “If you take another step I will make sure the next shot will go right between your eyes. Do you understand me?”
Han nodded his head, feeling himself starting to sweat. “I won’t run.” He needs to stay calm—or at least try.
“Excellent!” She was smiling now, her cold demeanor from before disappearing. “Continue to be a good boy and cooperative, I might you live.”
Han’s eyes flickered over to Baatar, seeing how the man stood there behind that vixen of a woman with a bored look on his face and arms crossed together, watching without interfering. Damn brat, he looked like he wants this to be done and over with, he would’ve sneered at him and maybe spit at him, but that was too risky with her here. His eyes moved back to Kuvira, seeing her stalking to him and circling around him like a lioness ready to tear her prey apart.
“So what brings you out here at this hour?” Kuvira asked as she gave her gun to Baatar who took it silently.
“I just—” He took the moment to clear his throat, doing his best to keep calm, “—wanted to go for a walk.” And maybe if he doesn’t move too much, she won’t smell his fear.
“Don’t you live at the other side of the city?” she said, raising a brow at him.
“It’s a beautiful night,” he replied.
“It’s fucking shitty,” Kuvira grunted as she began to pat him down. After a few seconds passed by, her hand stopped on his groin, she frowned before she gave the spot another pat.
“All you have to do was just ask.” He couldn’t help himself, letting that comment slip out. “I would have gladly given it you.”
“Oh please, don’t make me laugh. You wouldn’t even know how to satisfy anyone, and let alone, a blow up doll.” She rolled her eyes, slipping a hand down into his pants and gave him a look of pity. “You’re not even average.” She tsked at him as she pulled out a bag of ecstasy from his pants; it’s worth more than thousands of dollars.
“Has anyone ever told you stealing is wrong?” she drawled out, waving the bag in front of his face. “More so on betrayal?”
Han knew he had been caught, why else are they here? Though, he had hoped maybe, just maybe, he could’ve gotten away with it. “They made me do it!” He blurted out.
“Do you know how many fucking times I have to hear that excuse?” she scoffed, throwing the bag over her shoulder where Baatar caught it easily. “And the many different variations I have to hear?” And like a switch, her demeanor changed once more, all humor was no longer present in her tone.
“Angel dust, LSD, weed, etcetera, etcetera—” She enumerated with her fingers. “Sorry doesn’t cut it, money was lost because of you. You stole from us. You stole from her.” Her back was turned to him.
Han straightened his back, blood rushing up to his ears and feeling the adrenaline coursing wildly through his veins. He wasn’t sure if that was the drugs doing all the work or if it was instinct that’s making his mind run wild, but he’s not going to wait and ponder when he quickly drew his gun out now that she’s not looking. He wasn’t going to waste any more precious time. A cruel smirk curled its way onto his face, his finger on the trigger and was ready to pull. “You stupid bitc—”
“Fuck!” he screamed out in agony. His gun fell onto the ground before he quickly followed, falling onto his knees; his vision turned hazy with tears, clutching his bleeding hand with a horrified look on his face when he noticed a knife protruded from the back of his hand. He was in a great deal of pain, looking up to see Baatar stepped forward with a cold fury thundering in his gaze, this was all his doing. He should’ve known he wasn’t as harmless as he look, after all, this is the eldest son of the Matriarch. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to—please have mercy! I’ll tell you everything I know! I will tell you the location of my—”
“Your boss should be dead by now.” Kuvira’s back was still turned to him, she just received a text message from Wei and Wing. She walked back to the car only to stop by Baatar’s side, placing her hand on his shoulder. She could see the fiery rage burning in those eyes of his, oh he is definitely heated right now and knowing how it greatly angered him to see Han made an attempt for her life. It’s pretty hot to see him like this to be quite honest. She bit down on her lower lip, eyes sparkling with excitement; oh yeah, she’s definitely turned on. Maybe there’s a hotel they can find and go to after this is all over to celebrate. “Do you want to finish him off, darling?” Her arms were wrapped around his waist, pressing herself against his side and stood on her toes to kiss the corner of his lips.
“Do say hello to the rest of your boys in hell for us.”
Baatar raised the gun up to Han who kept on crying and pleading for his life, but it simply fell into deaf ears. “Don’t mess with the Beifongs.”

Inspirations for Matsubi Hanako I like to sit down and ask myself what building blocks got me my character or storyline. Examining this helps me know why I made certain choices. Fox Statue
Shrines to Inari often have foxes as statues, as they serve as messengers to the deity. This one has a scroll in its mouth, like the one on Hanako’s back tattoo. The idea of foxes as divine messengers of became this temple where kitsune are venerated as semi-divine, a little like how celestial-blooded creatures might be everywhere else. While I was supposed to be researching for a term paper I ran across some neat comparative mythology scholarship on fox stories in East Asian lore. Hanako is, obviously, primarily Japanese inspired but stories of the Chinese huli jing and the Korean gumiho influenced both her specifically and the lore surrounding her people. (The country Hanako is from in her original setting is not an island nation, and that shows.) Hanako’s tension with her bestial vs. her spiritual nature is a common theme in Daoist and Buddhist fox stories. Often the less enlightened foxes indulge in trickery or seduction or outright predation, until they are destroyed. But the wise fox gains immortality by overcoming these issues. Her fear of dogs references specifically, “Come and Sleep.” Her ability to drain the ki of her foes is common in fox stories in China, and the habit impoverished kitsune have of eating the flesh of dead humans comes from Korean stories about foxes eating the livers of humans who they killed (Hanako’s favorite guilty pleasure is eating liver.) credit: somethingweirdisaw Library Fox of Wan Shi Tong
In the Avatar universe, the library of Wan Shi Tong sat half in the real world and half in the spirit world as an elusive repository of knowledge. His minions are little foxes that manage the library - this is a huge part of Hanako’s role in this world. There’s a throwaway line in Patrick Rothfuss’s Name of the Wind about the University’s adventure librarians that combined with these scroll-hoarding foxes to become Hana. Also, Iroh is there.

It’s not so secret that I sometimes use visual cues from a pokemon in my character design. I’ve had a ninetales named after Hanako since 4th gen. It wasn’t really my doing alone that she managed to gain her many tails by eating a magic crystal.

Maya Fey/Ayasato Mayoi
It wasn’t until I started playing through the games again recently that I realized how heavily I’d borrowed from Maya in terms of Hanako’s demeanor, appetite, and appearance. I decided to give her the necklace as a nod to this relationship.

Monk/Champion class, Ragnarok Online
I played this game for 8+ years and it still surprises me what design choices I make that relate directly to this game’s aesthetic. Hanako’s heavy rope belt and prayer beads wrapped around a gauntlet probably rely on this a little.
credit: Gravity
Souhei *extra credits whisper:* Warrior monks. The concept of the warrior monk that runs through the fantasy class usually pulls from Shaolin, and the emphasis on hand to hand combat that even Hanako has is indicative of this. (Again, Hanako’s only mostly Japanese.) The way monasteries in her homeland fight with both samurai and each other, the way they see commoners, and the way that monks who aren’t Hanako often wear armor and carry blades draws from stories of angry armed Buddhists in Japan. Hanako’s bracers and the headscarf I never draw her wearing are references to this.

Juri Han Hanako’s not evil, doesn’t do taekwondo, and I don’t play Street Fighter. But something about Juri’s body language and facial expressions suit Hanako, who is always trying to hold back a predator.
credit: kotku
Ahri
I was hesitant to admit this, it feels a bit pedestrian. But they share some similar notes in “guilt about their innate powers” and “feeding off people”, even if Hanako is less morally grey and less seductive. Though she does have a weak charm ability, Hana probably couldn’t entrance her way out of a paper bag. I’m tempted to add suzu bells to Hanako’s design. Ahri makes ringing bell sounds when she moves and attacks that I imagine working for Hanako.

Shippou I was twelve, I liked the kid and the then-unfamiliar medieval Japanese setting, and I think that’s why I figured kitsune had a place in my fantasy world at the beginning.

My Top 10 Favorite Cartoons
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7710607bb447c8710409ad0c0e0b6813/tumblr_inline_ot79nabIcZ1uy3kof_540.jpg)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Animation is the greatest art form in the world. It’s film making, painting, doodling, caricature, satire, illusion, literature and music all at the same time. Truly poetry in motion. It simply does not get enough credit for just how miraculous the form can really be. Being the innovation in our culture that it is, making this list was difficult; because every time I thought of a worthy candidate for the list another worthwhile one popped up in my memory. As such, expect an honorable mentions before we get to number one. Before we jump in though, some ground rules.
1. If it’s animation, it counts. It doesn’t matter if it’s western animation or Anime, 2d or 3d, traditional or motion tweened, for children or for adults, for television or on the web. If it involves the cycling of drawn pictures to create the illusion of life then it qualifies.
2. This is not in order of objective quality and is strictly opinion based. Overall quality is a factor, but this list is mostly about how much of an impact it’s had on me as an individual.
enough ado, let’s get into it.
10. Being Ian
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4fc1b5f5f9a012d290b79c16d4bb71c0/tumblr_inline_ot7a0irWBo1uy3kof_540.jpg)
It’s more then Likely those of you readers who are American or anywhere besides Canada for that matter don’t know about this show, so in order to make sense of this entry let me provide a bit of information about myself. I am Canadian, and thus grew up with an entire library of Canadian produced shows intended for Canadian audiences. While I think the U.S.’s animation game is undeniably stronger then what we’ve got up north, we had some pretty solid entertainment like 6teen, What’s With Andy?, Total Drama Island, stuff like that. While it’s all well and good, the only thing I regret about our history as animators is that we rarely aim for more fantastical premises and almost always make shows about hijinks in mundane Canadian smalltown life. It’s nice every once in a while but we do it a little too often. I’d kill for a Canadian Adventure Time or Gumball. So why is Being Ian here? Well, the simple answer is this is the show that made me want to get into film making. Seeing as the premise is all about a nerdy kid with his camera trying to make an inspiring career out of his mundane life and constantly imagining scenarios that are treated as homages to famous movies like King Kong, Clockwork Orange, Jurassic Park and so on (many references I didn’t get as a kid) it makes sense that this would make me want to take on the same kind of lifestyle. It put me on live action for a while but as I found my talents are more in line with animation I moved onto it shortly after. Quite honestly, that’s it’s only real reason for being here. The animation is passable but nothing to write home about, it’s comedy got a chuckle out of me at times but isn’t really the most clever show ever (in fact sometimes it relies a little too much on grossout humor, as do most Canadian shows in fact), but the show undeniably played a major role in my development as a person. Also, it’s theme song is by Parry Gripp (the “Do You Like Waffles?” guy) so that’s a plus.
9. Wander Over Yonder
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/aba85d527f27a0f6d35541d62d5a973f/tumblr_inline_ot7amuDoM31uy3kof_400.jpg)
Alright, now that some of the country-based sentimentality is out of the way, let’s get into the really high quality stuff. The stuff with the bright colours, the wacky characters, the emotionally driven storylines and just everything great about cartoons. Craig McCracken is among my favorite animated show producers of all time (as previously stated in another article I wrote: Why Craig McCracken is a genius). This show is the perfect example of his talent and skill. Effectively just Road Runner on an intergalactic level with a touch of The Muppets, Wander Over Yonder is the cartoonist cartoon you will ever watch in your cartoon-filled life. It’s got a great sense of humor, intoxicatingly likable characters like the optimistic too-nice-for-his-own-good Wander, the spunky and adventure loving Sylvia and of course the abundantly evil yet adorable Lord Hater and his number one henchmen Commander Peepers, and it’s animation is miles upon miles in quality in comparison to what you may find on the air most of the time. I think objectively it is one of the finer shows on this list. So why only number 9? Well, the truth is . . . I haven’t watched very much of it. I watched the first season and pieces of the second. I intend to watch the rest once I get a bit more spending money but for now I gotta settle with what I bought, and for a show as high quality as this I refuse to pirate it. But this show left a great impact on me and came into my life when I needed somethin this cheery most. I discovered it when I was coming off of a really hard breakup that was way more difficult then it really needed to be and it bent me out of shape real bad, so putting this on felt like turning the lights in my brain back on. For that I’m really grateful.
8. Avatar: The Last Airbender
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/691b70a79751aa5db82e6e1986eb69ba/tumblr_inline_ot7bciowQ91uy3kof_540.jpg)
Ho man. Who knew Nickelodeon of all networks would make a move as artistic, risk-taking, original and highbrow as Avatar: The Last Airbender?? Oozing with eastern culture influence (so much so that there is an ongoing debate as to whether or not it counts as an anime), hours and hours of some of the most fantastic animation and fight choreography ever to hit the waves of television all done in glorious hand drawn frame by frame no less AND being the premiere of some of the most unforgettable characters in pop culture like the lovable Aang, the witty Sokka, The badass Katara and Toph and the honorable (haha) Zuko, this show is something you absolutely can’t miss out on for any reason at all. I would know as much, because I actually binged watched the whole thing as an adult instead of catching it while it was still on the air even though I was totally aware of it’s existence at the time. I was a stupid, stupid kid. It’s too bad Nickelodeon developed a history of terrible decision making that screwed over the follow-up series The Legend of Korra SUPER hard. All well. This show is fantastic and you need to watch it right now.
7. Venture Brothers
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f66054787cbc535ed7f0f3cd79cef80a/tumblr_inline_ot7bydUC6i1uy3kof_540.jpg)
Alright, so at this point I feel an obligation to point out a certain bias I have when picking favorite shows. That bias being my love for superheroes. I. LOVE. Superheroes. They are a bigger chunk of my life then they realistically should be. So fair warning; a lot of these entries are superhero themed, this being one of them. But Venture Bros isn’t just that: it’s one giant satirical love letter to every kind of adventure show you can imagine. It homages everything from James Bond to Indiana Jones to Scooby Doo to Johnny Quest to Superfriends to Marvel Comics. It’s got fast witty dialogue that seamlessly alternates between high and lowbrow in seconds and has an ever expanding cast of great celebrity voices like Stephen Colbert, Clancy Brown, Seth Green and of course the manliest man who ever manned in the history of mankind, Patrick Warburton as Brock Sampson. Testosterone incarnate. The show has great appealing character design and so many memorably hammy characters that all comes together for a great slick style that’s every bit as badass as it is hilarious. You can totally get enraptured in the gut wrenching dialogue while still being invested in the plot full of conspiracy and espionage.
favorite line from this show: “If that were a woman, I’d marry it!” “Yeah, and then I’d jeopardize our friendship by bangin’ yer hot wife!”
6. Cowboy Bebop
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/89e88f092e983a58d99095ef684276cd/tumblr_inline_ot7clrvxOP1uy3kof_540.jpg)
Anime fans rejoice; I put the most cliché basic answer for favorite anime on my list! In all seriousness though, Cowboy Bebop is often regarded as the gateway anime for an American audience and rightfully so. It’s heavily influenced by American culture, it’s got a soundtrack comprised almost entirely of Jazz, Blues and Bebop as is it’s namesake, every episode homages some sort of American genre of film like Noir, Sci-fi horror and even Blacksploitation flicks and it’s American dubbing is considered one of the few on par with the original if not better, with Steve Blum giving a cool as ice raspy take on Spike as the lead character as well as the rough but fatherly Jet, the seductive but sensitive Faye and the optimistic child prodigy Edward (who is a girl, in case you don’t know). But none of that would matter if the anime wasn’t good . . . . so it’s a relief that this show KICKS SO MUCH FUCKING ASS THAT IT DOES OH MY GOD!! If I could sum this show up in one word, it’s “cool”. You will never find a show cooler then this. That is a challenge. It’s got great Bruce Lee inspired martial arts action as well as Reservoir Dogs esque shootouts, and most importantly it’s got a lot of heart and dripping emotional tension enraptured in mystery that insists the viewer keep watching to peel back the layers of every character. Through nuance storytelling choices, heavy atmosphere and carefully chosen dialogue this show has a style and edge that will never be known again. Let’s just hope the live action adaptation doesn’t fuck it all up (it’s got Sunrise Pictures backing it though so that’s reassuring).
5. The Simpsons
This gif is just the tiniest taste of the timeless wit behind the golden age of this show. What can I say about the Simpsons that hasn’t already been said before? It’s one of the most culture revolutionizing pieces of all time, let alone the 20th century. It perfected the archetype of the family sitcom, is the longest running American television show in history, was once so ahead of it’s time to predicted the future eerily frequently and has even had some of it’s original dialect like “D’oh!” make it into the dictionary. This show is no doubt one of the largest reasons for our cultures current sensibilities and outlook. Most importantly though, it was just something me and my whole family could watch and bond over. Some of my fondest memories as a kid was getting so excited whenever this show would come on because it was a time where me and all the siblings and our folks would huddle around the couch and all laugh together at some great slapstick, clever one liners and just straight up bizarre jokes at times where the only way you can logically respond is to laugh. It’s too bad this delicious fruit has rotted quite a bit and Fox won’t just send it to compost already. I already wrote up an entire article about why the current Simpsons sucks now so if you’re interested, go check it out. For now, I’m just going to look fondly on it’s golden age through clips, old episodes and internet shitposts.
“Don’t cry for me. I’m already dead.” - Barney.
4. Homestar Runner
Oh, Homestar Runner. Ye ancient relic of the early days of the Internet before youtube. A simpler time when Flash cartoons were all the rage and you can tune into the surreal misadventures of a star spangled armless oblivious dolt and his more popular counterpart, the boxing glove wearing e-mail answering Luchador Strong Bad. When I was very little I was obsessed . . . OBSESSED . . . with Homestar. I think the great appeal of Homestar was that while it was clearly popular enough for references to pop up here and there purely by word of mouth and for the series to eventually get a videogame developed by Telltales and for the creators Matt and Mike Chapman to eventually move on to working for Disney, it was JUST obscure and surreal enough to make its fans feel like they were in a unique and secret club where they could really bond over references to the show and not have it ruined by having the brand just pop up everywhere and anywhere. As hipstery as that sounds, my point is that Homestar felt like a Niche where problems were simple, everything was up for ridicule and old Atari and computer games were always cool. They went on a hiatus for a few years and only recently came back with a little cartoon every once in a while (nothing regularly scheduled though) but if you want to dabble in a little bit of early 2000s lighthearted weirdness then I highly suggest checking out their website. I’ll link to it down below.

3. Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7481483f443256959f66905c8fe4947e/tumblr_inline_ot7elb4MQR1uy3kof_540.jpg)
When I first came up with the idea to do this list this was the first show to immediately pop in my head. I just get into a good mood whenever I think about this show. It’s colour scheme, it’s wildly imaginative characters, it’s silly yet offbeat sense of humor, it’s great pacing. Mostly it’s premise is just so ingenious you have to wonder how nobody ever thought of it before. This show is the sole reason why Craig McCracken is among my absolute favorite Animation Directors. Everytime I heard the intro to this show come on as a kid I had to immediately stop whatever it is I was doing and catch a hilarious episode. This was a show my sister really liked too, so much so she learned how to play the theme on the piano. Whether it was letting awkward tension build or immediately escalating to a high speed chase, this show would always keep me giggling the entire way through. Not to mention some of it’s episodes were really heart wrenching and actually made me choke up a bit. I know leave you with one of it’s funnier bits.

2. Teen Titans
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d402d046686c7bab8bc7928cb92b2976/tumblr_inline_ot7f0zMIz11uy3kof_540.jpg)
That superhero bias I was talking about is coming back with a vengeance. This show is great for a lot of the reasons I really like previous entries in this list actually. It’s got a great art style that’s heavily anime influenced, a cast of diverse and unforgettable characters (with my childhood favorite being the quirky and wise cracking Beast Boy and my adulthood favorite being the hilarious, innocent and lovable Starfire), a hell of a lot of heart that makes me tear up in some of it’s most emotional moments, FANTASTICALLY fluid and suspenseful action (once again done in glorious classical animation), a great soundtrack with a hype as hell opening number that’s so good I have it on Spotify, all sorts of homages to action show tropes as well as nods to the larger DC universe and takes itself the right amount of seriously to let some of it’s sillier aspects shine. I distinctly remember seeing the first episode when it came on for the first time and getting instantly hooked. Every main character in this show is cast spot on and give some of the most memorable performances I’ve ever heard. Plus it’s a show that only gets better with time . . . especially in comparison to . . . that other show.
Before we get into number one, here are some honorable mentions: Rick and Morty, Disney’s Recess, One Piece, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Clone High, Samurai Jack, The Legend of Korra, The Amazing World of Gumball, Steven Universe, Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, Young Justice, Spectacular Spider-Man, 6teen.
1. Justice League Unlimited
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/51d9e5c383d0da2eb1c757c22c6436a7/tumblr_inline_ot7g0yZBBg1uy3kof_540.jpg)
Let’s take a moment to appreciate just how Amazing Bruce Timm’s take on the DC universe is, because . . . oh man . . . it is masterful. The stupendously likable characters, the intense action and suspense, the drama, the fast paced and impactful action and animation, the simple yet effective character design, the ever engrossing storylines. These are just some of the reasons why Bruce Timm is my favorite animated show developer of all time. There have been many great DC shows to come after this like Batman: Brave and the Bold or Young Justice, but none of them come close to the majesty of Justice League: Unlimited. When it comes to Bruce Timm shows most people would put Batman: The Animated Series higher up there, and while I without a doubt respect it’s legacy the fact that it’s Bruce Timm’s earliest show as director for the DC universe is pretty prominent in it’s pacing, action and to an extent it’s line delivery. The show moves rather sluggish and has more then a few issues in it’s animation, especially in it’s first season. I don’t hold that against the show in any way as it’s still very impressive for what it is, but you can tell Timm and his crew were just beginning to hone their style and would go through some growth pains further down the road. Justice League had some remnants of these problems here and there but they were beginning to shake these issues off. JLU is where Timm’s style got perfected. Perfect pacing, perfect line delivery, perfect animation, perfect action sequences where you can feel the impact of every punch and blow, perfect storytelling, and most impressively perfect juggling between the largest cast of characters Bruce Timm has tackled in his run. While Justice League would keep it between the original 7 in terms of juggling, JLU would take on characters like Green Arrow, Captain Marvel, Huntress, Black Canary, The Atom, Vigilante and so many more and make them all just as likable as the main cast if not more at times. And of course, there is the number one reason to watch the show . . . The Question.
God, do I love the Question. This show is the sole reason he is my second favorite DC character (first being the Flash). But anyway, to wrap it up, Bruce Timm once said in an interview that JLU was his favorite work because it was the only show he could keep going back to and continue to enjoy. I wholeheartedly agree.
So that’s my list. I hope you saw some of your favorites on there, and if not just enjoy what you enjoy and keep this medium alive dammit!

Standing In This Dream [Korrasami]
Summary: Korra's got a wedding surprise for Asami during the reception. Hopefully it goes off without a hitch!
Here's the video of 'Standing In This Dream' by My Dear. You gotta watch it and imagine you're Korra holding the camera.
AO3 LINK
Korra straightened her back and adjusted her suit jacket. She took in one final deep breath as she looked down at her hands that clasped the microphone tightly. Finally she stood, her gaze scanning the large banquet hall.
Asami and her had wanted to keep this small, but there was no way a world famous videographer and CEO of a Fortune 500 company could have a small wedding. They decided that they would have a large reception and then get together with their closest friends and family at a different date.
She tapped the microphone softly and the hall soon quieted. She was never used to being the center of attention. She definitely preferred her work behind the scenes. Her life had completely changed just a few hours ago. She had finally married the love of her life and this was just the beginning.
“Hi everyone. I, um, am glad you all could join us for this very special night,” she started. “Sorry, as many of you know I like to hide behind the camera more than be in front of it.”
This garnered some giggles. She gave Bolin a little look since he had been filming everything. He’d filmed the wedding preparations, the wedding, and now the reception. Her friend just had to document everything.
“Anyways, as I hope you all have realized, tonight couldn’t have happened without this lovely woman beside me.” She looked lovingly at Asami who was smiling up at her. “If you had asked me that I’d be married to this woman, I would have told you that you were out of your mind.” Korra chuckled. “She’s way too good for me, like really.”
Asami rolled her eyes because she knew that wasn’t true. If anything, Korra was too good for her, at least in her mind.
“As many of you know, she’s the most selfless, thoughtful, intelligent woman in this world. She’s helped raise millions of dollars for various charities. She’s given up her own time to volunteer here and around the world. Her inventions have helped society and have opened new doors for the future. On top of this, she runs her own goddam company and takes care of me. I’m pretty sure I’m the most difficult thing from all that I’ve listed,” Korra joked. Thankfully she got a good laugh out of audience.
“But what you don’t know, is that Asami can’t cook. She has trouble saying ‘no’ to the people she loves. She hates mornings, but gets up anyways, even if a bit grumpy. She also does this adorable thing when she’s mad. She scrunches her nose up and her eyes could literally drill holes in the wall. But I guess maybe some of her business partners have experienced this too.”
Korra smiled down at Asami who was now giggling.
“So, Asami and I have been friends for nineteen years now. We met when I was twelve and she was thirteen. She always seemed too cool for me and smart, but something drew me to her. I just couldn’t not be friends with her. So I just told myself to say ‘hi’ to her, but that plan did not go smoothly. School had just gotten out and I saw her waiting for her bus, so I start walking over to her. And I’m only a couple of feet away when I trip over my own feet. In my little mind I thought the world was over. I had royally fucked up, please excuse my language, but I had.”
At this point Asami was covering her mouth, holding back her laughter.
“But do you know what happened. Asami saw me fall and rushed right over to me. Keep in mind, we had never spoken to one another before. She helped me up and then she noticed the blood. I swear her face became so white and her eyes became distant. And then it was her turn to fall on the ground. She fainted. Fainted because of a little bit of blood on my knees.”
Korra couldn’t hold back her smile.
“You could even say that this was when we first fell for another,” Korra joked. “Ever since that day we’ve been friends and now I finally got to marry her. It’s crazy. But I do have something for her, which I don’t think she knows I have.”
Asami furrowed her brow and looked at her curiously.
“As you all know, videography is a huge part of my life. Asami has always been willing to help me with this. When I get new cameras or ideas, she is always down for being my model. We’ve done this on multiple occasions, but there's this one time that was very special for me. It’s the time that I really understood my feelings for her. It dawned on me this day that I loved my best friend and wanted more, but I was too scared to tell her. Anyways, right when I got home, I ended up editing the clips and created a video. It’s been eight years now and it’s finally making its premiere.”
Korra looked down at Asami.
“I love you so much and I really should have told you earlier. I’m glad that you had enough guts to admit your feelings to me, because I probably wouldn’t have. These past three years of official dating have been incredible. And I know our years as a married couple will be even better. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this,” she said directly to Asami. The other people who would be watching this didn’t matter, just Asami.
As soon as she said this the lights turned off. Korra sat down and reached out for Asami’s hand. Asami smiled at her warmly and leaned over. “You did great,” she whispered.
“Thanks, but tell me that after you watch,” she instructed warmly.
Asami nodded. Across the room a projection came to life and the video started. Asami’s jaw instantly dropped when she realized what day Korra had been talking about.
Asami stared at her friend kneeling on the ground. “You almost done yet?”
“Hold on,” Korra chuckled. She adjusted a few more settings and raised the camera. “Got it.”
She was focused on the trees ahead of her, but when she heard Asami’s laughter and the thud of her skateboard hitting the ground, she turned to focus on her friend.
Asami smiled at her and gave a little nod of her head before rolling away.
“Wait!” Korra shouted as she dropped her board and started to follow her. “Where are you going?”
“Anywhere and everywhere,” Asami yelled. Her hair long hair was flowing behind her and the sunlight made her skin glow. Korra couldn’t have asked for a better shot.
They rode down the coast for a bit, but stopped for a moment when Korra spotted an area she wanted to film at.
“So, how’s it feel to be old,” Korra teased as Asami stood in front of her. Asami’s birthday had been a couple of days ago.
Asami dropped her mouth in mock insult, but then smiled. “I’m not old,” Asami reprimanded rolling her eyes. She looked around the area, spotting the little bench behind them and the volleyball courts. “Why’d we stop here?”
“The lighting is nice,” Korra said as she looked through the lens of her camera. The natural lens flare was perfect and the way the wind blew Asami’s hair back took her breath away.
Asami stood there for a moment, just smiling at Korra. Without warning she dropped her board once again and skated away.
Korra muttered to herself, but still filmed her as the distance between them increased. Before Asami got too far away, Korra skated to catch up with her.
“So how’s being a real adult?” Asami teased.
“Still feels the same,” Korra admitted. It really didn’t feel that different not being in college anymore. “More free time I guess.”
“MMMmm, lucky.”
“Yeah I am. I don’t know how you do it, Asami.”
“No choice really,” Asami sighed.
Korra frowned. She knew that Asami had a lot on her plate, yet she was always willing to be there for Korra. Throughout their friendship Asami was always the stronger one. Always the one who knew what she was doing. Korra on the other hand was everywhere. She never knew what she wanted or what to do. The only thing that was stable in her life was her family and Asami.
Korra skated ahead of Asami. She then stopped and filmed Asami getting closer. As she neared her, she began to skate again, still filming. They did this for a little while until Korra tripped up. She stumbled to the ground, holding her hand up to protect the camera and landed hard on her butt. Asami rolled to a stop and knelt beside her.
“Shit. You okay?”
“Yeah,” Korra groaned as she got up.
“Let’s take a break,” Asami said. She pointed to the large grass field. “Wanna rest over there?”
“Sure.”
Asami plopped down on the ground and used her board as a pillow.
“That doesn’t seem comfortable,” Korra joked as she filmed Asami from above. She walked around her friend and got some extra footage.
“Ehh, it’s not too bad.” Asami covered her eyes with her forearm, trying to shield them from the sun. With her free hand, she patted the grass beside her.
Korra didn’t need to be asked twice. She laid down and filmed their feet just for fun. Both their legs were cross, but then Asami decided to have some fun with her friend. She lifted her legs and plopped them atop Korra’s. In response Korra rolled her eyes even though she enjoyed feeling of Asami’s smooth legs against her own.
“You have all the space in the world, yet decide to invade mine.”
“That’s what friends do, Kor. They share.”
“Ha. ha. Sure. Whatever you say, Asami.”
They stayed there for a couple more minutes until Asami got restless. She grabbed Korra’s hand and lifted her up. “Let’s go,” she said.
Korra didn’t even ask where they were going, instead she just followed silently with her camera still filming.
Asami entered a small shop and began looking at the sunglasses. She then picked up a handful and began putting one after another on her face. She held in her laughter as she placed the fifth pair over her chin. Korra chuckled. It was good to see Asami letting go like this. Just because she was a CEO didn’t mean that she couldn’t have fun.
Korra helped her take them off and then Asami put on a pair that had cheetah print and looked seductively over them.
“How about these?”
“Oh, so nice,” Korra lied.
Asami laughed and put them back. “Thanks for being supportive, but no.”
Korra looked around the shop a bit more and then stopped. “Asami!” she yelled.
Asami poked her head out from behind a shelf. “Yeah?”
“Stand over there and stay still,” Korra instructed.
Asami rolled her eyes, knowing exactly what Korra wanted to do. “You’re such a dork,” said Asami as she struck a pose.
“You like it,” Korra said, focusing to keep her hands steady as she panned over a line of mannequins to end with Asami, the human mannequin.
Asami winked at Korra and then laughed. “You get your shot?”
“Mhmm,” said Korra, hoping that she wasn’t blushing.
“Good cause I want to go do something.”
Korra looked at her confused. “And what would that be?”
“You always carry around a sharpie, right?”
Korra looked at her suspiciously. Asami was right. Korra always had a sharpie and a notepad with her. She wasn’t sure why, but she just liked to use sharpies for writing notes and ideas. To her, it made them seem more important for some odd reason. But why did Asami need it now?
“Don’t ask,” Asami said as if she’d read Korra’s mind.
They skated for a bit until Asami came to a quick stop in front of a sign. She climbed the pole and began drawing a skateboard under the picture of a man walking. Korra’s jaw dropped.
“Asami!” she whisper yelled. “You can’t do that!”
“Well I just did.” She jumped down from the pole and quickly skated away.
Korra followed close behind. “You do know that was illegal.”
“Yep!”
“My god, Asami!”
Korra continued to chase her, but had to jump off her board and pick it up. Asami had sprinted into an arcade and now they were weaving between new and old games.
“Asami I swear you’re not older than me!”
“Too bad I am!” At that she jumped up onto these little stools and began sprinting across them.
“If you fall I’m not helping you,” Korra muttered, but kept filming.
Asami rolled her eyes. “I don’t need your help, mother.”
“Fine no prize for you then.”
“What?” Asami leapt down and strode over to Korra. “What?” she repeated.
Korra puffed out her chest a bit. “I was going to win a prize for you, but since you keep acting up… I’m not going to.”
Asami’s eyes widened and she grabbed Korra’s arm, giving it a little shake. “No, please?” she pleaded.
Korra squinted her eyes and then nodded. She could never turn down Asami. “Okay,” she said in a serious tone.
“Sorry,” Korra said as she handed Asami the small plastic dinosaur. Asami had wanted one of the plush stuffed animals, but Korra had failed miserably.
“I love it,” she said as she leaned her head back and rested the toy on the bridge of her nose. “It’s adorable.” Korra couldn’t help but think that the adorable one wasn’t the toy.
“We should go before the arcade people get too pissed.”
Asami laughed at this and grabbed Korra’s hand. They walked down the sidewalk, hands swinging between them.
“There’s a little amusement park down there,” Asami said as she pointed to the end of the beach.
Korra nodded and they continued their walk. It didn’t take long to get there and soon Asami had chosen one of the spinning rides. She jumped in and waved her hand to get Korra to follow her. In all honesty Korra hated rides like these. She could deal with rollercoasters, but not rides that spun. As soon as it started, Korra clutched onto the handlebar with one hand and tried her best to film Asami’s smiling face. Her hair was all over the place and Korra laughed at how silly, yet cute she looked. But as soon as the ride stopped Korra could feel her stomach turn a bit.
“You okay?” Asami asked placing a hand on her back.
“Yeah fine, just kinda dizzy.”
“Want to sit down?”
“Nah, it’s all good.” She looked down at her watch and smiled. Even though it felt like they had done so much already, they still had a lot of the day ahead of them. “There’s this pedal boat place I know, want to go there?”
Asami looked at her as if the answer was obvious. “Yeah!”
Korra chuckled as she guided Asami down to the pier and towards the rental place. After they got their lifejackets on, they walked down a little dock and towards the boats.
Suddenly Asami was running towards her and Korra’s heart seemed to stop.
She began to backpedal, but knew there wasn’t far for her to go.
“No! Don’t you dare!” she shouted as Asami teased her with the bunch of seaweed in her hands. “The camera,” Korra used as an excuse. “You can’t let it get wet!”
Asami giggled and threw the seaweed away. “You’re such a baby.”
Together they got into the pedal boat and left the dock. Once five minutes passed, Asami had grown tired and was complaining. Korra frowned as they spun in a circle because she was the only one pedaling.
“Asami,” she pleaded, exasperated.
Asami placed a hand on Korra’s leg to get her to stop pedaling. “Take a break and enjoy the view.”
Korra stopped and realized that Asami was right. The coast was filled with people spending their day on the beach or pier. Boats passed them and swimmers jumped around in the water having fun. After relaxing for a while, the two of them worked together to get back. They returned the boat and lifejackets and then walked to the end of the pier.
Korra realized that the place was perfect when it came to lighting and setting. She pointed to the little table and motioned for Asami to sit down.
Asami hesitated because there were two seagulls there, but eventually she joined them. They didn’t even fly away as she sat down with her legs crossed. She rested her chin in her hand that was propped up on her leg.
Korra made a few adjustments to her camera and smiled at the shot. She then looked up at Asami who smiled at her and gave a cute little wave.
“We should get ice cream,” Korra blurted out of nowhere.
Asami chuckled. “Okay.” She hopped off the table and walked over to the ice cream shop that sat on the pier.
Korra ordered her usual mint chocolate chip and Asami got cookies and cream.
They leaned on the railing of the pier, just watching the waves hit the sand. Asami had taken the dinosaur out of her pocket and had placed it beside her. Korra continued to film as the wind blew Asami’s hair away from her face and the sun began to set behind her.
She worried her lower lip as she felt her stomach flutter.
After what felt like ages, Asami finished the last bit of her cone. She and Korra left the pier and finally went down to the beach. They both took off their sneakers and began walking on the sand that was still warm from the sun, even as it set.
Korra decided to straggle behind and get some last shots. She smiled to herself as she watched Asami’s hips sway and her head bob to the music in her head.
Asami approached the lifeguard stand and sat down on one of its steps.
“You tired?” Korra asked as she plopped down beside her.
“Kind of.”
“It’s been a pretty long day,” Korra pointed out.
“Mhm, but a fun one.”
“Yeah,” Korra said as she looked through the lens of her camera at Asami. She really couldn’t get over how beautiful Asami was.
“Thank you, Korra.”
Korra lowered her camera. “For what?”
“For today. For being my friend.”
Korra looked at her confused. “You don’t need to thank me for that.”
“Well I did.”
“Thank you to you too, then.”
Asami laughed and ran a hand through her hair. “I’m going to go down to the water,” Asami told Korra as she got up.
Korra decided to hang back and film her from afar. She watched as Asami walked through the cool water and down the coast.
Korra let out a long sigh. Even though she hung out with Asami a lot, something about today felt different. She was happy, yet her heart felt heavy at the same time. All she could think about was Asami and how much she loved her. But it was more than just loving a friend. She was truly in love with her.
Korra’s thoughts were interrupted when a beep came from her camera. She frowned slightly when she realized that the battery was dying. She switched it off and covered the lens.
Korra hadn’t watched the video. Instead she had watched Asami the whole time. She watched as smiles flashed across her face. As her eyes squinted slightly when she laughed. When her nose scrunched up when she remembered something embarrassing that happened during that day. Korra would never get tired of seeing Asami express herself like this.
Asami on the other hand couldn’t pull her eyes away from it. When she finally did and looked at Korra, her eyes were filled with tears. She smiled warmly at Korra and shook her head slightly.
“I had no idea you kept that footage,” she said quietly. Korra had a hard time hearing it over the clapping and cheers that filled the hall as the video came to a close.
“Of course I did. It was the day that I figured out that I loved you more than a friend. That I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“Me too,” Asami admitted, still quiet.
“Wait, really?!”
Asami nodded and pulled Korra into a strong hug.
“I love you,” Asami whispered into Korra’s ear.
“Love you more,” Korra added before pulling away slightly and kissing Asami.

Libary AU -- Snow Day
Part II - Break time
Part I
Our gang takes a much-deserved break!
Rated T for language and suggestiveness
After two of the dullest hours of her career, Asami’s face lit up when Kya, the branch manager, relieved her on desk. “Kya! You’re a sight for sore eyes!”
Kya couldn’t help but laugh. Judging from Asami’s reaction, her desk shift promised to be equally boring. “That bad, was it?”
“Not a single patron walked in. Remind me again why we risked our necks to show up today?”
“Hey, I’m with you a hundred percent, but you know how it is. What Raiko says, goes,” Kya sympathized with her. “But there may be a silver lining.”
Both Asami and Bolin perked up. “Silver linings? I like silver linings!” he said.
“I just spoke with Lin,” Asami and Bolin exchanged a quick, knowing look. “And she and Tenzin are meeting with Raiko to talk some sense into him.”
“Good. The sooner we can leave, the better. Which reminds me, I’m going on break.” Now Kya and Bolin exchanged a look, knowing full well what that entailed. “Thanks, Kya.”
“Have fun!” Kya called after Asami as she headed towards the circ office, just as Wei was leaving for the desk where Bolin was waiting for him.
“It’s about time!” Bolin teased his colleague. “What were you doing back there? Huffing glue?”
“No, I was jerking off in your chair!” Wei laughed, playfully jabbing his shoulder. Just then, his face reddened when he realized Kya was at the reference desk and might’ve heard him. Fortunately, her back was turned, paying them no mind. “Oh shit!” he whispered.
“Serves you right. Welp, I’m taking my break, too. See ya!” Bolin practically bounced towards the librarians’ office, his two hour stretch finally over.
Wei’s, on the other hand, was just beginning. “Shoot me now,” he groaned to himself.
Korra had the habit, for better or worse, of completely focusing on whatever task she was engaged in, regardless how mundane. This made getting her attention a challenge, so Asami had to devise more interesting ways to do so.
“Kor-ra, there’s nothing under my bla-zer,” she spoke softly into her ear in a sing-song voice. Korra’s head shot up, wearing a deep blush and wide eyes. It was absolutely adorable and comical. Asami threw her head back with laughter.
“Dammit, Asami! That’s not nice!” Korra said, disappointed that she was indeed fully clothed beneath her jacket. “Just you wait, I’m gonna get you when you least expect it.”
“That isn’t how sneak attacks work, but thanks for the heads-up,” Asami giggled at her girlfriend’s obliviousness. Korra pouted when she realized that she gave herself away. Asami leaned down for a consolatory kiss while ruffling Korra’s hair. She pulled up an extra chair that was next to Korra’s desk and sat beside her. “What are you working on?”
“Eh, just payroll. I’m almost done,” Korra shrugged.
Asami whispered seductively, her breath tickling her ear. “Do I get a raise?”
Korra turned with impish expression and pressed her lips to Asami’s. “I’ll give you a raise -- in the supply room!”
“Oooh! Promise?”
“I’m as good as my word, Ms. Sato.” She spoke into their kiss with mock seriousness. When they broke apart, Korra opened her large desk drawer and pulled out her fire whiskey and an extra tumbler. “Want a drink?”
“Sure! After that long drag on the desk, I need one.” As she accepted her dram of whiskey, Asami noticed the falling snow blanketing the streets through the window. “Wow,” she said in awe as she rose for a closer look. “Look at that, it’s beautiful!”
Korra stood behind her and wrapped her arms around her waist. She kissed Asami’s neck, inhaling the scent of her perfumed lotion. “Yes, it is.” She then rested her chin on her shoulder. “Too bad we’re here and not at home.”
Asami relaxed into Korra’s arms and sipped her drink. “About that. Kya spoke with Lin earlier, and she and Tenzin are trying to convince Raiko to close us.”
“Yeah right. I’ll believe that when I see it. He’s a pinched asshole who doesn’t give a shit about any of us.” she said with disdain.
Asami squeezed her hand and turned to face her. “Well damn, Korra, tell me how you really feel!”
Korra pulled her closer for another kiss. “Honestly? This is making me think of the last time there was a blizzard. Remember?” Korra spoke in a low voice.
Asami blushed at the memory spent in the confines of their bedroom. “I do. It makes me wanna relive old times.” Her hands roamed from Korra’s waist to playfully grope her rear. “What do you say?”
“To the supply room, my lady!” Korra said enthusiastically.
“Ugh. Finally,” Opal said to herself as she submitted the last purchase request for the day. She checked her clock and realized just how long she’d been working on them. Long enough. She stood from her desk for a satisfying stretch, her top rising just enough to expose her midriff.
She was completely oblivious to Bolin standing near the librarian’s office doorway until he whistled his appreciation at her. She blushed once he caught her attention, then smiled warmly. “Hey,” she greeted. He jerked his head in invitation towards the break room. Opal grabbed her teacup and followed him inside, where he was already lounging on the couch.
“Want some tea?” she called from the room’s small kitchen.
“Nah, I’m good,” Bolin replied as he reclined his head. His slow shift on desk sapped his energy from him. The sounds of running water would’ve lulled him to sleep had Opal not settled on his lap afterwards.
Bolin snaked an arm around her and rested his free hand on her thigh. “I heard an interesting rumor.”
“Did you?” she asked while holding him and kissing the corner of his mouth.
“Yeah. There’s a slim chance we may close early.”
“Good luck with that,” Opal said sardonically, knowing the uphill battle Lin and Tenzin faced. As she straightened Bolin’s shirt collar, a realization hit her. “Spirits! Do you know that that means?!”
“Hmm?”
“We may be stranded here!”
Bolin, who’d been nuzzling her neck, abruptly stopped and gaped at her in shock. “Oh shit!”
“’Oh shit’ is right. If they reach a decision too late, we’re crashing here,” she patted the couch for emphasis. Just then, the kettle whistled from the kitchen. “I’d better get that,” Opal said as she made her way to the kitchen.
Still stunned at the prospect of spending the night at work, Bolin called after her, “I think I’ll have a cup after all.”
A short moment later, Opal reappeared with two cups of jasmine tea. She handed Bolin his and sat back on his lap.
“Well, let’s hope for the best, but expect the worst.” Opal tapped her cup with Bolin’s, who laughed heartily.
“Sounds fair. Now that we’re settled, where’s everyone else gonna sleep? What about Korra and Asami?”
Opal shot him a wry look. “Take a wild guess.”
“Supply room,” they said in unison.
“And Kya has a couch in her office,” Opal reasoned.
“And what about your brother?”
“Huh. Good question. He’ll figure something out.”
Once their tea was finished, Opal curled against Bolin’s shoulder. “You’re sooo warm.”
“Cold?” he asked while pulling her closer.
“A little.”
“Then I have the just the thing.” His hand slipped beneath her skirt.
“Don’t start what you can’t finish,” Opal warned.
“Oh, I intend to finish you.”
Just as they shared a heated kiss, Kya’s voice sounded over the intercom.
“ALL AVAILABLE STAFF, PLEASE REPORT TO THE REFERENCE DESK.”

Fighting a feeling (chapter 13)
A/N: I’m just going to keep up with my Jeremy Clarkson-esque descriptions of my chapters if you all are okay with that: Korra has a flashback. Asami forgets an important detail. This is chapter 13 of Book 5 Absolution.
Chapter 1, 12
Three weeks earlier:
“Avatar Korra, the ferry is about to arrive.”
Finally! “Thank you, Shu,” she said happily to the acolyte before she and Naga jumped to their feet and hurried to the dock. Okay, I can’t act too excited . . . “Naga!” she hissed quietly. “We can’t run down there - we have to walk.”
The polar bear dog cocked an ear, but obediently slowed as they made it to the stairs.
“I want to see her too, but we have to be cool about it,” Korra explained. “We can’t just jump her the moment she leaves the boat.”
Naga whimpered, but wagged her tail hopefully.
“Okay, you can probably get away with it, but I can’t.”
Bark! She leaped down the rest of the steps and sat, anxiously watching the ship approach.
“Yeah, I know. If I could, I would, too.” Korra waved as she spotted Asami and scratched Naga’s ears. “Now remember what I said: we have to play it cool-”
The moment the ferry came to halt, Asami hopped off with a large duffle bag over her shoulder, only to be nearly plowed over by the massive dog. “Naga!” she shouted in a fit of laughter as she dropped the bag and pushed the animal back a step. “Who’s a good girl?”
Naga barked happily before throwing herself onto her back, tail wagging furiously.
“You big lush,” Asami muttered as she rubbed the dog’s belly.
And I’m jealous of a dog, Korra mused as she walked at what she hoped was a leisurely pace to the pair. “I see you two have an understanding.”
Asami flashed her a smile. “Naga and I did a lot of bonding the last six months. Whenever I had a bad day at the office, I’d come over just to have a cuddle, but Pema would usually convince me to stay for dinner.” Giving her one last pat, she stepped around the dog and pulled Korra into a tight embrace. “Now that you’re back, I could try it on you and see if it cheers me up just as much.”
Color flooded the avatar’s face as she nervously laughed, “Um, sure! I’d be okay with that - assuming Naga can share.”
“It is hard to say no to her,” Asami admitted as they separated and she retrieved her bag.
So much for playing it cool. Wow, she looks really good today - no, stop staring! Focus, Korra! “So, what’s in the bag?” she tried to say nonchalantly as the captain of the ferry passed on his way to the temple.
“It’s been three years since I had a proper spar,” she explained as they made for the stairs. “Mako always refuses and Bolin . . . he’s more of a grappling guy when he’s not bending, so our styles never really jived well.”
“Why won’t Mako spar with you?” Korra asked in surprise before smoothly taking the heavy gear from her (or at least she thought she was) and shouldering it.
The engineer rolled her eyes and smiled. “I may have bruised his ego a little while we were dating. I needed to blow off steam after the whole secret-workshop thing and ended up nearly breaking his tailbone. After that, he usually told me you were always looking for someone to spar with.”
“I still remember that first time we did - if I wasn’t wearing pads, I’m sure you would have broken more than just my tailbone.”
“I play to win,” she said simply. Naga was waiting for them as they reached the top of the stairs. “So you better not pull too many of your punches.”
“Yeah, about that,” Korra muttered nervously. “I’ve been getting kicked around by just about everyone I’ve had to fight lately. I, um . . . just don’t get your hopes up, I guess.”
Asami stopped them both and squeezed Korra’s shoulder lightly. “Then it’s a good thing I’m here to whip you back into shape.”
“Yeah.” Unease refused to leave the avatar as they reached the courtyard and began donning their sparring gear. I’m going to make a fool of myself. I should have asked her for another driving lesson today.
“Ready?” Asami asked as they took fighting stances.
Korra took a deep breath to settle her nerves. “Yep.” Knowing Asami never made the first move in a fight, she opened with a few quick jabs. Okay, just ease into this. Staying light on her feet, she began to circle the engineer, throwing more jabs and the occasional kick. Just keep your head.
The older woman effortlessly blocked or dodged every attack. Her eyes narrowed as she studied the way Korra moved, how she left herself open for easy counters.
So far, so- Going in for strike with her left, Korra met only air as Asami stepped to the outside of the attack and used Korra’s forward momentum and an elbow to her back to send the avatar stumbling forward.
Shit! She turned to find the engineer smirking, waiting for her to try again. “You look pretty pleased with yourself.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Asami purred.
Korra felt her face redden as her frustration started to mount. It’s hard enough just fighting her - I don’t need her being all seductive, too. Realizing she was being too predictable, she approached and tried a new strategy.
“Better,” Asami said sincerely, as her opponent incorporated feints and tightened her stance. She allowed the attack to continue for another couple of minutes before she stepped into her attacker and pulled her off balance across her body.
Damn it! Korra thought as she quickly scrambled back to her feet in a huff. The engineer had barely begun to work up a sweat while she was gasping for breath like she’d been training for hours. “I don’t think you’re going to get your proper spar,” she admitted in frustration.
“We’ve only just started and I have all day,” Asami said patiently. “Try again.”
It was difficult to focus knowing she was doing so poorly. Do it for Asami - you owe it to her. Constantly circling, she upped the tempo, trying to at least give her a challenge. The older woman was forced to match her movements, flowing more like an airbender in her dodges than Korra had ever been able to while bending - that may have been part of the reason the avatar forgot her promise not to bend and airbent into the next jab.
Asami skidded back across the courtyard a few steps, but managed to keep her footing. Korra’s eyes went wide as she suddenly realized what she’d done. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean-”
The engineer’s eyes narrowed as she stalked toward to her. “Kid gloves are off now.”
Oh no- Korra tried to block Asami’s sudden and uncharacteristically aggressive attack only to have it countered. She retreated backwards, but the engineer followed, stepping up on Korra’s forward leg and hooking her opposite leg around her opponent’s upper torso. Before the younger woman realized what was happening, Asami had a hand on the back of her neck forcing her forward, sending the avatar crashing to the courtyard head-over-feet.
I think I’ve had enough, she thought as she forced the air back into her lungs. She pulled off her head gear and groaned painfully, “I deserved that.”
Asami knelt next to her and removed hers as well. “Yes, you did, but I didn’t need to do that - sorry.”
Korra sighed and sat up, staring at her gloved hands. “I’m just so tired of being . . . terrible. I feel like nothing I do is making me any better.”
“I noticed an improvement the longer we sparred,” Asami countered with a small smile.
She shook her head and pulled her knees to her chest. “But it’s nowhere near where I should be! Grrr! I’m sick of getting my butt kick by everyone!”
“Hey, give yourself some credit,” Asami admonished. “You may not be one hundred percent, but you’re still making progress.” She put a hand on her shoulder and gave it a little shake. “And besides, I remember kicking your butt plenty while we were staying in Zaofu, so this is nothing new.”
A snort of laughter escaped before Korra had a chance to act offended. “Fine, I’ll give you that,” she admitted.
“I think I might be able to help,” she said hesitantly, “if you’re willing to keep going.”
That’s what everyone has said before, Korra thought tiredly, but the earnest look on her friend’s face stopped her from saying no. What do I have to lose at this point? “What’s the plan?”
The next several hours were spent drilling counters, Asami attacking and Korra redirecting, progressively becoming more difficult and complex as the day wore on. Only lunch and water breaks broke up the engineer’s patient instruction and critiques.
“Are you okay?” Korra asked as Asami flinched after their last scuffle.
She rotated her shoulder experimentally. “Yeah, but it’ll need to be healed before I leave tonight. That was excellent form, by the way. Jinora, how much time do we have?”
“About an hour until dinner,” the young airbender called from the small crowd that had formed by Naga to watch them.
“Are you up for a quick spar before we call it a day?”
Korra bit her lip as she glanced at the airbenders sitting on the steps to the temple. She didn’t really want to embarrass herself in front of everyone, but she felt really good. She was exhausted, but working with Asami had done wonders for her technique and confidence. “Why not?”
“Kid gloves on or off?”
“Off. I think I might be able to keep up with you this time.”
Asami’s smirk was all the reassurance she needed. Time to give her the proper spar she deserves. . . .
This was the closest she’d felt like herself since the poisoning, she realized as the engineer sent her tumbling to the ground for a third time. Her eyes narrowed as she rolled to her feet and countered another attack. A grin plastered her face as Asami stumbled and nearly lost her footing. No mercy, she mused as she pressed forward.
“Nope,” the older woman growled wickedly as she dropped low to avoid Korra’s high kick. Still crouched, she spun on the balls of her feet and tried to sweep at her legs, but the avatar was gone. “Where-” She blinked at the wrong time and suddenly found herself tackled.
The pair rolled over one another as they fought for control, though Korra knew she finally had the advantage. The grappling ended quickly with Asami pinned beneath her.
“YES!!!” Korra roared in triumph after the engineer tapped out. She tore off her helmet and pulled Asami to her feet before giving her a crushing hug. That was amazing! I can't remember the last time- She pulled back to see Asami trying to look convincingly grumpy about her loss until she dissolved into a fit of mirth. She's so pretty when she laughs, I could kiss her-
“Alright, you two. Get cleaned up. Pema is serving dinner soon,” Tenzin called from the temple.
Korra nearly jumped out of her gear. I completely forgot we weren't alone, she thought as she smiled sheepishly. Asami rolled her eyes and led the way to her bag. I'm still probably going to make fool of myself tonight.
“Okay, let me see your shoulder,” Korra insisted once they were in the privacy of the dormitory bathroom.
Asami dropped her change of clothes by a shower stall and began undoing the buttons on her shirt. “I don't think that pin did it any favors,” she chuckled.
“Yeah, sorry about that. I guess I got a little carried away.”
“That was fine - the gloating on the other hand . . .”
“Come on! I wasn't that bad-”
“You tried to reenact the pin on Naga! I will admit I did enjoy the part where she stood up and shook you off her back.”
Anything to make you smile, she thought before bending a handful of water from a tap. “Okay, I admit I'm a terrible winner . . . and loser - I’m just a terrible person.”
“I wouldn't go that far,” she said as she slipped her shirt off her shoulder. “I doubt Naga would hang around you so much if you were.”
“She is an excellent judge of character.” The water glowed softly as she worked. “She likes you after all.”
“Hm,” she sighed quietly as her shoulder mended. “That's because she’s never had to negotiate a purchasing agreement with me.”
“What would she be buying?” Korra laughed, pulling the water off her skin. “Coming out with a line of satomobiles for polar bear dogs?”
“She’d probably be a better driver than you,” she said innocently.
“Ouch, and after I did such a thorough job on your shoulder, too.”
Asami tried to look apologetic, “I'm sure it would only take a few more lessons to be just as competent.”
“You're having way too much fun with this,” Korra said rolling her eyes. “Where else needs healing?”
“Um, I'm not sure.” She was about to give herself a quick once over, but the healer pulled one of her hands into hers.
“I have to remember who I'm talking to. You weren't really going to check, were you?” she asked shaking her head. After examining her swollen knuckles, Korra encased them in glowing water.
“It's not that bad to begin with,” Asami countered. “We were wearing gear and I expected to be sore tomorrow.”
“From working hard, but not from injuries.” She started to press lightly into different spots on her forearm. “Tell me if this hurts.”
“Really?”
“This will go quicker if you cooperate.”
“Fine, that spot is a little tender.”
True to her word, Korra worked quickly and efficiently - not because Asami seemed to think the attention unnecessary, but because thinking about having her hands all over her best (human) friend was dangerous. I am a professional and Asami is my patient. That didn't stop a blush from warming her face.
“There,” Asami hissed as Korra pressed into the side of her rib cage.
“You know, I was wondering if we were overdoing it with that move,” Korra said with a frown as the engineer lifted her shirt to allow her access. “How many times did I elbow you there, two or three dozen times?”
“We had to build back up your muscle memory.” She closed her eyes and let out a long breath.
“Next time I’ll let you practice more of those throws, but only if you teach them to me, too.” She pulled the water away and pressed her fingers gently into her side, “Anything?”
“No,” Asami whispered, “but I suppose the other side will be just as bad though.”
Without thinking, the healer let her fingertips trail lightly down her side and across her abdomen to her opposite side, eliciting a yelp of laughter from the engineer. They both froze and stared at each other.
“Korra,” Asami warned as she watched the avatar’s face break into a mischievous grin. “Korra, I will start practicing those throws on you right now if do what you’re clearly thinking about doing.”
“But, this is huge!” she pouted. “I had no idea you were ticklish.”
“Who isn’t?”
“Naga.” Under the intensity of the engineer’s glare, she sighed and relented. “Fine, but I’m going to remember this.”
“I’m sure you will.”
Korra grinned as she worked, trying not to notice the slight blush coloring Asami’s face. “There, good as new.”
“My hero.” Lowering her shirt, she closed her eyes and took a breath before stepping up to the younger woman.
What- The avatar froze as Asami lightly gripped her biceps and pressed her lips to her cheek, letting them linger a breath longer than necessary. The faint scent of perfume and sweat combined with the shock of the kiss left Korra happily dazed.
“Thank you for the healing, but we should probably get cleaned up before Pema comes looking for us,” Asami muttered as she backed away.
“Yeah,” she said airily. If her face is that red, what does mine look like? Korra made no attempt to hide her staring as her friend eventually disappeared into a shower stall. Have I made a fool of myself yet? I don’t remember. . .
Dinner was a chaotic and humorous experience with Asami by her side. Between watching the older woman coax Rohan into sitting still and eating and listening to Meelo’s animated description of the girls’ last spar to anyone listening, Korra couldn’t remember the last time she’d had such an enjoyable meal. But like all good things, it ended far too soon.
Korra and Naga walked with Asami down to the pier, all in a somber mood. “Are you sure you can’t stay the night?”
The engineer shook her head. “I have a meeting at six tomorrow morning with my head of deliveries. The earliest ferry out of here is seven and I don’t think you want to be up earlier than that to give me a ride.”
“I wouldn’t want to, but I could,” she shrugged. I’d do just about anything if you asked.
“Naga, look after Korra for me,” Asami said as she enthusiastically rubbed both sides of the dog’s face. “And keep her out of trouble.”
“Yeah, because I don’t have to chase her out of the kitchen when Pema cooks or drag her away from the airbenders when they’re supposed to be training,” Korra laughed as she dropped the bag of gear.
“Well then,” she said as she pulled her into her arms, “look after each other.”
Warm lips found the avatar’s cheek again, causing her pulse to race. Okay, I can do this. All it took was a slight turn of her head and she found her slightly chilled skin, pressing a kiss to Asami’s cheek.
A radiantly shy smile greeted Korra as they parted at the sound of the captain’s last boarding call. “We should do this again . . . soon.”
The kiss? . . . Oh, the sparring! “Yeah, but before that you need to teach me to drive.”
“This weekend?” she asked, shouldering her bag.
“Perfect.”
“It’s a date then. Goodnight, Korra.”
“Goodnight,” she muttered with a sappy smile. A date . . .
She and Naga remained on the dock long after the ferry disappeared into the dusky fog. “I think I love her,” she whispered to her companion.
The polar bear dog wagged her tail.
“How long have you been up?” Asami asked sleepily as she rolled over to embrace Korra.
“Not long,” she muttered as she buried her face in her hair and inhaled. “I was thinking about the last time you came to the island . . . before all of this happened.”
The engineer lazily kissed her neck. “When we spent the whole day beating on each other?”
“Yeah, we never got around to that driving lesson you promised me.”
“Only because we found out the city was about to be attacked the next day,” she chuckled. “Don’t worry, I still plan on teaching you.”
“I learned a lot that day,” Korra whispered before peppering her face with kisses. “That you are the most patient instructor I’ve ever had besides Katara.” She paused and kissed her nose. “That you are terrible at grappling and that’s why you don’t spar with Bolin.” She cut off her retort with her mouth. “That I was hopelessly in love with you,” she whispered on her lips.
“I nearly blew off the meeting,” Asami admitted. “After you kissed me, I was kicking myself the whole ride back to the city for not staying the night.”
“I learned one other thing, something that you weren’t at all happy about.”
She frowned as she tried to recall what Korra was hinting at, completely missing the way the younger woman’s fingers brushed lightly down her side. “I don’t remem-”
The avatar grinned wickedly as her girlfriend shrieked with laughter just as the morning bells rang.
A/N: Someone take this wine from me, but not really because it makes writing so much fun.
So this scene is to make up for a change I made to an earlier chapter. After Korra and the Beifongs nearly get blown up and Korra goes to confront Asami about her coping technique, I had originally planned on them sparring to get our favorite workaholic to admit she was scared of losing someone else she cared about, but it didn’t really flow well so I changed it to a short argument and an orgasmic make-out instead. But I still wanted to have them spar, damn it! I wonder if the show hadn’t been shorted on cash that last season if we’d have gotten the chance to see something like this scene or maybe some backstory about Kuvira. :P
I also need to say thank you to all of you amazing people. The last few chapters have generated a load of interest in this story and I am pretty darn humbled by it all (it’s also inflated my ego a little if I’m entirely honest). I will do my best to continue to deliver the best korrasami I am capable of.
Thanks for reading, reviewing, following, and liking!

Prompt: Makorra: Mako and Korra have a secret night life. They are members of a sex club and tonight, they do it on stage in front of an audience (they can wear domino masks).
Deviated from the prompt a bit, decided to show their first time here.
Makorra, E
(Ao3)
- Uh... Korra, I don't think these people want to overthrow the Republic City government...
The beginning of the night felt oddly familiar. Against her temperamental nature, Korra agreed to not bust through the door to the slightly shady mansion, but instead infiltrate it, being promised a new perspective of the world by the members they contacted. But as she and Mako stepped below the ground, the sight they saw was nothing like the Equalist rally they also attended incognito a few years back. The only common elements were the masks, as they were the only element the people gathered in the spacious room were wearing.
At least two dozen naked people sat or lie on the many unusually spacious sofas, which frankly looked more like beds, and their occupants used them exactly as if they were such. Korra's eyes shifted from place to place, unable to focus on anything for longer than a second: in one corner, a woman was pleasuring two men, stroking their cocks, while they kissed her breasts; right next to them, two women were locked in a passionate, fiery kiss, and just a few feet away a man was kneeling between legs of his lover, getting whipped by a water whip from the water-bender he was pleasing.
- A little overdressed, are we?
A sudden voice from behind them startled both Korra and Mako, forcing them to turn around. A sleek, curvy woman stepped from behind a curtain, her long, red hair seemingly flowing in the already heavy and musky atmosphere. If she was wearing anything else than her lionturtle mask, Korra was sure she could be described as "stunning".
- I presume you've never visited Cactus Flower before, have you? - she asked, already knowing the answer.
She walked around the two, dragging her hand across Mako and Korra's body, as if they were naked as well, and neither of the two could quite take their eyes away from the seductive moves of her naked hips.
- Cac-Catus Flower? - Korra stuttered first, gaining the woman's attention - Like that drug? That's why you call yourselves that? - Why, yes.
She swiftly turned around and handed them two glasses filled with a clear, sweet-smelling mixture.
- Not many people know, but the juice from cacti found on the Si Wong desert can be a wonderful aphrodisiac... If properly prepared, that is. - she explained, her alluring, low voice drilling every word into Mako and Korra's ears - If not, then it may cause delusions, hallucinations, sometimes madness, so it is not recommended... unless that is exactly what you're looking for. We do have the jars of unfiltered juice in the back, if you want.
She winked, and that single act sent shivers down their spines.
- Uh, no, we, uh, we should be going... - Mako stuttered, putting the glasses away. - Yeah, we thought it was going to be... uh, something different...
They turned around, but before they took a single step up, the mysterious lady put her hands on both their shoulders, stopping them in place.
- You are free to go, of course, but I can already feel both of you are having second thoughts. - she whispered, yet her voice rang in their ears.
Mako and Korra turned around and exchanged nervous looks, and before either of them even opened their mouths, the woman was already holding door to the changing room for them, wearing the same smirk underneath her mask.
- This way, please.
Never letting her guard down, Korra and Mako stepped into the spacious room where another couple was disrobing themselves, giggling and already exchanging heated, passionate kisses. The wall was covered with dozen or so sets of clothes neatly hung on one side, and an equal number of empty hooks on the other side, where masks were stored.
- So? What do we do now? - Mako whispered, half-thinking the mysterious woman could appear like a spirit out of nowhere - I... I don't know. - Korra looked around - Don't you... I mean... Don't you wanna...?
The nervous grin turned into a sly smirk on her face, as she looked at him, giggling when his eyes turned wide. In a single move, she threw her trenchcoat away and pulled her shirt up, revealing her breasts.
- Ready? I mean, if you're not, then I guess there are others out there...
Throwing away any pretence, she pressed Mako to the nearby column, pressing her lips to his and her hands already undoing his clothes. It took the fire-bender a moment to react, and Korra moaned into his mouth when she felt his hands fumbling, trying to disrobe her.
- Even by your standards, that's kinky... - Mako whispered, marvelling at her figure, becoming more and more naked by the minute. - That's the whole point, I guess. - she smiled, putting on a blue demon mask that covered her face and complemented her eyes.
A moment later, the two stepped from the door on the other side of the room, talking first, cautious steps to a completely new world of debauchery. This was not a quickie on the Ember Island beach, where no one was around, and even trained earth-benders had problem seeing through sand; this was a room full of naked people, though then again, all of them had exactly the same thing on their mind, so the arrrival of the newcomers was nothing extraordinary to them. In the few minutes Korra and Mako took to undo their clothes, many people have already changed partners, or moved to a different sexual act, creating new combinations and filling the air with more and more carnal moans and cries, as well as the impossible to miss musky smell of sex.
The red-haired woman approached them, wearing much wider smile, and carrying a silver plate with her.
- Once again, would you like a refreshment to... bring you into the mood? Though, from the looks of it, you are ready...
Her eyes gravitated towards Mako's cock and Korra's nipples, making the two turn crimson again. They each took the glass of juice and sipped it, taking nervous looks around.
- We're, uh, we're just gonna take a seat here and... - Oh, no, no. - the woman interrupted them - If it's your first night in the Cactus Flower, then you gotta do it in the centre.
The moment the mistress of this place stepped into the hall, various moans and cries died down, and only then, as they followed her, Mako and Korra noticed a single sofa in the middle of the spacious room, and judging by the two dozen of prying eyes suddenly staring at them, they were meant to be the entertainment for the evening.
Korra bit her lip, hearing some low whispers and murmurs around them, but oddly enough, it was Mako, who gave her confidence to go on. His lips pressed with hers put her in a state of calm and tranquillity that made her forget they were naked in a crowd of equally disrobed people, and in a few minutes they were going to make love for everyone to watch.
- Ready? I mean, if you're not, then I guess there are others... - Mako raised his brow and mimicked her taunting.
Perhaps it was his cocky grin, maybe his tone, or maybe it was the aphrodisiac pulsing in her veins, but the next second Korra leaped into his arms, easily toppling her boyfriend to the single bed. The crowd enjoyed her initiative, men and women alike gasping and cheering as she positioned herself atop him and impaled herself on him in one swift move, letting her voice fill the air around them. Korra pressed her arms to his chest, properly pinning him to the soft, red sheets, and begun riding him. Only now she heard that delicate, sensual music was playing from some distant radio or phonograph, giving their carnal ride some odd rhythm.
Her initially strong and forceful moves became slower, and yet fuller, as she made sure to dive deep onto him with every push. She stared into his eyes, simultaneously listening to the murmurs of the people around them, and trying to mute them all and concentrate on her lover. Korra could hear more and more squishy noises, and she didn't have to look up to know that their play has inspired at least some people to have fun on their own, and that only made her heart pump faster.
Just a few minutes ago, Korra thought that making love in front of others might be impossible, and yet, she now proudly and gladly exposed her body, arching her back, so that people could see her breasts bouncing up and down with each thrust of Mako's hips. She threw her head back, her vision partially becoming filled with white from the lights of the chandelier, and then, she saw people behind them, some masturbating to the sight of them.
She leaned forward, and with her head spinning, she let Mako take control for a while, and he used that moment to pull her into a deep, deep kiss that made the Avatar even hornier, and allowed her to concentrate on bringing them to their climaxes.
Despite her initial worries, Korra was now determined to give the people around them a show they would never forget. The furious sounds of her butt slapping against Mako's thighs filled the air around them, and were only interrupted by louder and louder moans of the Avatar, who once again was losing herself to the pleasure; not just hers but the one that seemed to radiate from all the other couples...
And then, just as her orgasm was about to consume her, she felt Mako's hand pushing her up, and for a split of a second she though he was going to deprave her of her climax. She was going to protest, until she realised what he was doing to her. He spun her around and impaled her on his cock once more, spreading her legs just so the rest of people could watch their sexes mashing together.
And it was the sight of all those masked people that drove her to the edge. She threw her head up and let a roar, combined with a burst of flame that signalled her climax. Her pussy spasmed around Mako's cock, squirting her juices onto the sheets, and, from the sound of it, also the audience. Korra's orgasm pulled Mako to his peak as well; the spectators could watch Mako's hips making their last powerful thrusts, as his cock pulsed, filling her with more and more of his cum, which quickly overfilled her quivering pussy and leaked out, generating the more gasps, the more of his virile seed he flooder her with.
Only when their orgasms subsided, and their bodies stopped trashing and quivering, Korra rolled back to kiss Mako, and the audience erupted with applause. She slipped off Mako's cock, giving the people another sight of her creampie, flowing out of her, which gained them a few more whistles and audible praises. But Korra, who just a few minutes ago was doing it for the crowd, has now forgotten all about them. She hoped that her boyfriend kisses could calm her body a bit, though his tongue, invading her mouth was sending more and more familiar, electrifying sparks through her body that drove her wild.
The two would gladly stay in hat state, but it was once again the red-haired woman that interrupted their peaceful state.
- Congratulations. For newcomers it was quite a spectacle. - she clapped gently - I think you'd be a perfet addition to our society, and would help spread the idea of free love... Though something tells me you already know that, don't you?
Mako and Korra exchanged knowing looks from underneath their masks. It seemed as if the woman could read them like an open book, and knew about their occasionally debauched life choices they have made so far with other men and women.
- Oh, and of course, you will need these if you'd like to get to know others...
The woman handled them another plate with packages of condoms and a small vile of crimson-red potion, identical to the one Korra was already taking.
Once again, Mako and Korra looked at each other and then at so many naked men and women around them, some of which already resumed their hedonistic actions, and some were waiting for the two of them to become available. Their lips curled into a sly smile. They didn't know what their future would bring them, but at least this night all bets were off.
Apparently, in Japanese flower language, cactus flower represents lust.

The Legend of Kuzon Chapter 8
Chapter 8: Zhu Li for President!
(Disclaimer! I own nothing of Korra or Kirby!)
We were finishing up a new song Kuzon wrote.
"Awesome!" Kuzon said, "We keep this up and it'll be polished in no time."
Anana was noodling on her bass.
"Let me guess, you came up with this song after visiting the Spirit World on your date with Korra."
"No! ….Yes."
"Speaking of Korra, I heard she was trying to smooth things over with the spirits," Kanji added, "How's that coming along."
"So far so good actually. Looks like Raiko is starting to get on her side."
"Well, looks like my uncle could use a bit more convincing."
"Screw that guy."
"Ditto," Anana added, "What's his deal with benders anyway?"
"He won't say," I said.
Kuzon looked at his watch. "Well, I'm meeting Korra for another date."
"Have fun," Anana and I said in unison.
Kuzon left while we were packing up.
"Looks like Kuzon finally found himself someone special."
"Yeah she's a lot better than her ex, Alliya."
I fake gaged to that name.
"No doubt about it, she is a total C-word."
"You're one to talk Kanji, your girlfriend can be a total dyke sometimes."
"Hey just because she happens to work at a Lesbian Club doesn't make her one herself," Kanji retorted, "And besides, even if she was, at least she isn't addicted to the korrasami fanfic I write that portrays Opal as a booby loving bisexual."
I turned to him, "Dude leave him outta this. Its not his fault he gets easily turned on by that kinda stuff."
Anana intervened. "Will you two stop the boyfriend/girlfriend bash fest?!"
We both calmed down.
"Look, Kanji's girlfriend is cool because she allows us to use her place for rehearsals."
Kanji smiled.
"And if it wasn't for your boyfriend Saria, we never would've earned that opportunity to perform at Kwong's Cusine, and earn $500 a musician no less, so just leave the people that make you happy out of it. They're both cool in my book."
Kuzon was walking with Korra around Republic City.
"You actually did that?" Korra asked.
"That I did," Kuzon said, and boy was he mad."
The two of them laughed.
Kuzon got lost in the sight of his girlfriend's beautiful blue eyes.
"Kuzon what are you staring at?"
"Sorry Kory, its just…. Out of all the girls I've seen in my life, you have the most beautiful eyes."
Korra blushed from her pet name and the compliment.
The two of them saw Raiko and Uncle Wenyan speaking with people about housing.
"The hell?"
The two of them went to see what was going on.
"Kuzon what a surprise," Raiko said, "How may I…."
"I'll handle this," Uncle Wenyan, "It seems this boy doesn't understand how busy you are."
He was about to speak when Korra tapped some metal on his mouth.
"You zip it. Now!"
"Its come to my attention that some of the ideas that Zhu Li and Asami made are being stolen."
Kuzon was pointing to the sign that said "Raiko Residences."
"I thought I told Wenyan not to go forward with this."
"Wait, you mean you wanted to give Asami and Zhu Li credit?" Korra asked.
"Don't act so surprised Korra, I knew it was their idea this whole time."
"So it was you who called off the united forces at the spirit."
Uncle Kenyan pulled the metal off him.
"Behold the woman responsible for this whole mess! And also responsible for the debris that fell from the Father Eagle during the attack on Republic City!"
"Whoa, that is not what happened," Kuzon said intervening, "See what happened was…"
"And where was the avatar when we had an attack by this menace, Takuga? On Vacation!"
The people were starting to turn on her.
"Hold it!" Kuzon said, "Korra may have caused a bit of collateral damage, but at least she's willing to make things right by rebuilding your houses, and helping Asami with her plans."
Uncle Wenyan glared "This doesn't concern you young man. Benders are the source of all the hell that broke loose in the city and should be banished!"
President Raiko came between my uncle and Kuzon.
"Ban benders from this city?" He asked, "With all due respect I strongly disagree."
"Mr. President, remember the election coming. You must keep the people on your side."
"We've had it with you constantly trying to turn the tables on bending kind and leaving us stuck with this guy as our president," Kuzon said before turning to President Raiko, "No offense."
"None taken."
"So I say, let the people decide who THEY want for president!"
The people started to cheer.
"But who would run against him?" Asami asked walking by, "I would nominate you but you're a bit too young."
"Plus politics bore me."
He then came up with an idea.
"Zhu Li!"
Zhu Li turned to them.
"Me?"
"If you could put up with your husband I don't see how you couldn't pull this off!"
"Kuzon's right," said Korra agreeing with him, "Its a great idea."
Zhu Li thought of the idea.
"I never thought of it like that."
"You seem like a worthy leader as you are compassionate to the needs of others."
"And plus I think it would be good for Korra to have someone as a president she could see eye to eye with," President Raiko said.
"I'll consider it, but in the meantime I should get back to work."
Uncle Wenyan glared at Kuzon.
"What?"
"First and final warning; Stay out of my way."
He walked away.
"You actually think Zhu Li could win," I said startling Kuzon.
"Yea, I actually do."
"Well I hope she wins. Somebody needs to put Uncle Wenyan in his place and show him who's boss."
"I'm just worried the people will start to turn on me again like the did earlier," said Korra, "You should see the spirit portal. It looks like a wasteland."
Kuzon took her hands.
"There's gonna be hardships like this all over, but as long as we stick together, we can accomplish anything."
Korra smiled then remembered something.
"I found this back at the fountain."
"My sketch book," Kuzon said, "I knew I left it somewhere."
"I also looked at some sketches."
Kuzon blushed.
"I uh…."
"You're a really talented artist."
"I… really?"
I was grinning.
Korra skimmed through some of the sketches she liked.
"This one is my favorite."
It was a picture of Korra in a suit of blue colors.
"The cleavage is a cute touch actually."
Kuzon blushed.
Korra got close to him and smiled seductively, "You know, if you're a good boy, then maybe I'll model it for you, or wear it to any fancy party we go to."
Korra was playing with his gold hair and kissed his nose.
"Um…. I'm gonna go put this in my bag."
He then pulled me aside, "You say a word about this, and you'll wake up the next morning with half your hair shaved off."
He walked away.
"I…. Honestly didn't hear anything after 'you're a really good artist'."
Most of the days of the Knights of Cydonia were patrol, but that didn't stop us from doing what we could.
And of course Kuzon and Korra were getting some quality time together.
Meanwhile Asami met with a member of the Creeping Crystals who offered assistance to take on Tokuga and she said she would give it some thougut.
I didn't know why but I felt like they could be trusted.
A few days later they also came to me on an idea to get the spirit portals back from my uncle's control.
"They want us to what?!" Asked Anana.
"It seems like our best option," I said, "Traveling to the southern water tribe to get to that portal could be a strategy to keep the portals on our side."
Kuzon thought for a moment.
"I think Saria might be on to something. A good counterattack on Tokuga to give him a taste of his own medicine!"
"Exactly. I know trusting the creeping crystals seems risky, but its our best shot."
"I'm all for it," Asami said.
"Poyo-poyo." Kirby said.
"That's right Kirby, and if Tokuga plans to take this portal, the police can wait there to arrest him."
"Wait, you can understand that thing?" Kanji asked.
"That thing can understand you too so watch it."
"Cydney do you think you can keep Wenyan busy while we take a boat?" Kanji asked.
"We'd be honored to assist our friends in taking back their turf," Cydney said.
"Hold it!" Said someone.
It was President Raiko.
"Fuck," I said.
"I know all about your plan and there's no way I'm allowing you kids to take any of our boats to the Southern Water Tribe."
He gave us keys to his private boat.
"You should travel in style. Tokuga won't take you superheroes seriously traveling in some old boat."
"Wait, you know that we're….."
"The knights of Cydonia," Raiko answered, "I'll never forget that symbol. Your father was a great hero."
Kuzon smiled.
"Good luck."
We and Korra went on the boat and started to travel to the next spirit portal to pull off our plan of attack.
