Estos son los jóvenes creadores que están diseñando el mobiliario, los textiles, las lámparas y cerámicas de mañana

El torno y el barro son los elementos favoritos de Julen Ussia. Y el oficio está en el centro de su creación. Después de estudiar un Grado en Artes y Diseño en Escola Massana, Centro municipal de Artes y Diseño de Barcelona, se ha dejado llevar por la experimentación de materiales, por los procesos de trabajo manuales y todo lo afín a los oficios, para acercarse a la tradición con la idea de crear nuevos lenguajes contemporáneos. Ha seguido profundizando en la cerámica y ha colaborado con el diseñador holandés Koos Breen y con Jorge Penadés, entre otros. Mientras sigue moldeando el barro con sus manos para crear piezas sin función precisa, más como experimentación formal, da clases en Barcelona y continúa exponiendo sus nuevas creaciones que incorporan cristal, metal o madera. Entre sus próximos proyectos: a principios del año que viene inaugura en San Sebastián la muestra Modos de Sentarse, está preparando piezas para la galería Il.lacions de Barcelona y una para la colección permanente del museo de cerámica de Barcelona.
