Here’s another NPC from my WH40k Wrath & Glory campaign. Konstantine Holzer, a sanctioned psyker and a teacher to Saef and “Rat”. One of the many children of the Great Awakening, one of the few that made it far enough to be sanctioned. (Also plucked straight from my DA rp campaign, bc why make a new mentor figure when you can just re-use an old one?)

Philippe Starck
Philippe Starck.

XVII - The Star - Hope / Inspiration / Generosity / Serenity
I’ve been on that tarot card bandwagon since forever, and finally got around trying one. I picked star bc it’s pretty simple as far as motifs go (compared to like trying to cram 9 swords somewhere) and it’s a really positive card, so that’s nice.
The stars in the background is the constellation Peraquialus or The Voyager from DA:I. I thought it fitting bc it’s a ship and Konstantine is literally on a ship rn.
(for a dude who wouldn’t be caught dead without at least three layers of clothing, I sure draw Konsta shirtless a lot, but consider this, I hate drawing clothes :P)
II - High Priestess, XII - The Hanged Man, XVII - The Star

The Wheel of Fortune, Temperance, The Strength in Reverse and Death in Reverse for Konsta :>
The Wheel of Fortune: What are your character’sproudest successes? He’s proud of when he got the ancient elven Arcane Warrior magic to work for himself, but he is more proud when he decided to help others with it. So whoever his first successful student on that front is, that is the success he is more proud of.
Temperance: How does your character balance theirlife? His life is balanced more between sleep and wakefulness than for most people, mostly because he does spend an awful lot of it asleep. Because of that he spends a lot of the waking hours at work. He considers sleeping times “free time”, because being a mage he is aware he is sleeping and so he can do a lot of thinking then. I think actual free time often gets forgotten for him. (though nowadays he does reserve some time for the ship’s kids)(And of course now in our campaign, as we’re having lyrium trouble, he’s spending only 2 or 3 hours awake every day, so that has to be used for basic necessities like eating)
Strength in Reverse: What are your character’sdoubts or insecurities?Konstantine’s biggest insecurity is definitely his physical looks, which is why he keeps himself covered as much as he can. As for doubts, I think now that Konstantine has lived much longer than he ever thought he would he’s having doubts about whether he should have stopped himself from doing all the things he could have done because of his illness. Mostly having to do with the relationships he didn’t cultivate.
Death in Reverse: When has your character tried tofight change? The transition from a mage and a teacher who taught and helped ill and disabled mages to a necromancer and a grave keeper was a difficult point for Konstantine. He didn’t want to be a necromancer at first, even though his family expected that of him. He even stopped talking with his dad for a while, because he wanted to continue to be a teacher. Of course, in the end he chose to retire to the Necropolis, but that was after he had burned several bridges in the Circle by being a rumored blood mage and all that.

DnD/OC ask meme: 9, 17, 25
Thank you! :) You didn’t specify which of the two characters I take questions on you wanted, so I’ll answer for both of them. And it looks like we’re off to a great start with a real kicker, ahaha, my characters are saaad. (mainly Cahair)
9. Who has, for better or worse, had the most impact on your character’s life?Cahair: Harralan Teravest, a member of his clan and a scouting partner, Cahair’s first love and the person responsible for the slaughtering of half of his clan (including his best friend and mother). Cahair was deeply unhappy teen, who desperately wanted to run away from his clan, but that wasn’t really a decision he could make, he had to keep his culture alive and that meant staying. Harralan was very outspoken on his pride of the elven culture and his anger towards humans. Cahair fell in love with him (partly because he had to find an excuse not to leave), and clung onto that love as something that would keep him in place.
And then the incident happened, and Cahair made it out, but Harralan died, and Cahair couldn’t find another reason to stay (not to mention the clan was pretty much in pieces after this), so he left. What remained in Cahair was Harralan’s anger and pride, tampered with feelings of betrayed love and fear of what that anger and pride might cause.
Konstantine: Ser Thomas was a templar in Konstantine’s tower. He and Konstantine became close when Konstantine started researching magic to keep himself alive, and later when such a method was found, Ser Thomas taught him swordfighting. The friendship between the two was really important for Konstantine, who didn’t make friends easily, plus Thomas’ respect for Konstantine’s bodily autonomy was life-changing, Konstantine knew he was allowed to ask for respect, even if he was technically a prisoner. Oh, and Thomas’ untimely death due to his lyrium addiction was one of the things that pushed Konstantine to become critical of the Circle institution, not only for its treatment of mages but of templars as well.
17. Soup or Salad? Cahair: Soup, because if you live out in the woods in basically carts and tents all year around, nothing is greater than some warm soup.
Konstantine: Soup as well, he’s cold and achy a lot of the time, so soup helps.
25. What does this character mean to you?Cahair: Cahair is my first roleplaying character I ever got to actually play. That’s a pretty big thing. I’ve spent so much time in his headspace that sometimes it drives me nuts, because he’s got all of these emotions and nowhere to put them and I don’t handle that very well. He’s often a pain in the ass to play, and I’ve often said that next time (if there is one) I get to make a PC, I’ll make an easier one (granted, we didn’t know when we started the first campaign that that would involve a lot of death for him). But still, I love him from the bottom of my heart and I am way invested in him getting a happy(ish?) ending. For better and worse, there will never be a character like Cahair in my life.
Konstantine: Konstantine is the first NPC I created I really fell in love with. I originally created him because one of PCs needed a mage teacher and I wanted an NPC I could talk magic theory through, bc while I am relatively well-versed in DA magic-lore, Cahair is not. He’s also a lot calmer than Cahair, a lot more peaceful, which makes him easier to play. And other players seem to like him too (don’t quote me on that, though! :D). He’s become a lot more than just magic-fact-spouting NPC than he started as.

Konsta: 2, 6, 11, 18, 31, 37, A, E!!
Ah, one of the classics, one of the 2½ certified Nemo’s OCs™.
2. How easy is it for your character to laugh? Konsta’s a bit of a restrained dude as far as his emotions go, so I think getting more than a “hearty chuckle”™ out of him would require a bit more effort. On the other hand, seeing how this question is written, it might also mean does he have difficulty laughing? I guess he isn’t the most jovial person and perhaps in some sense a bit embarrassed to show emotions in some situations, so yeah.
6. Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable? He would rather they be good enough that no one would have to bend them, but they clearly aren’t (mostly relating to mages, he has…. opinions). If he can live his life with the bad laws, he rather not break them, but rn for example he is in a situation where he should turn himself back in, which would mean death, and also turn all of his friends in. So maybe rather not.
11. How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?Konstantine would seek clarification in most situations. But there might be people and situations where his pride would not let him show ignorance, so then he would nod and smile, of course he knows, and then sneak off to figure things out on his own (he prefers searching knowledge on his own regardless, but understands that in all situations he can’t afford that, and in those cases he just asks).
18. What embarrasses them?Having strong outward emotional reactions, regardless of emotion. His parents, being noble, were rather strict with it and the Circle didn’t really afford him a chance to correct that behavior.
Having to ask other people for too much help re: his illness. He has managed it very well for a long time, so having to ask for support is a big thing. I remember when he first met the PCs, they suggested that Kanuuna could simply carry him out of the sewers, and yes, he would have none of that.
31. Who are they the most glad to have met? Probably Ser Thomas, who was one of the only people he really considered a friend in the Circle. He was a templar, but a moderate one and he taught Konstantine to sword-fight, giving him more bodily autonomy. I guess he felt that he could be himself, whoever that was (teenage/young adult questioning was def happening), with Ser Thomas.
37. Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)? Hmm, an interesting question. Konstantine has done /a lot/ of studying in his time, so he definitely has tried various systems. For useless information (such as names of kings or something), he memorizes them through repetition and then throws them out of his mind as soon as he doesn’t need them anymore. For useful stuff (magic and potions), he tries to map them in some way (mind maps!) or link them up into a narrative. He always prefers to have them written down if he can, though.
A) Why are you excited about this character?Haha, well, he’s my first necromancer character that I’ve really liked. I guess the key is that he does other stuff too? :D I really like that he’s the character I can pour all my magic theories/knowledge through, cos I got a lot of that, and Cahair doesn’t know a thing. He has really interesting relationship with death and with the world outside himself, bc of his lack of freedom his whole life and bc he is basically expecting to drop dead any second now (for 50 years). It’s that nuanced stuff™.
E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?I’d love him. :O Mostly bc all that good good knowledge. I think he would be willing to teach me, but I don’t think I’m not the kind of person he’d like as a friend.

For Konsta: 4, 9, 13, 25, 30 :>
These better not be as feels-inducing as Cahair’s y’know, or I’m holding you responsible.
4. You have a secret you swore not to reveal. But this secret is the only thing that would prove your innocence in a separate matter. Is it worth risking your own well-being for the secret? Or would you betray the trust given to you? There are very few people I think that would even pass such a trust on me. I’m not exactly known for making friends. Out of that handful, I don’t think there’s anyone who’s secret I would give out. Besides, what’s the worst that could happen?
9. Can people be held accountable for things people close or related to them did or are they innocent? The only thing people can be held accountable is the trust and love that they place on those people. No one holds the knife, but the murderer. Trust and love can cause people do to things for people not worthy of them. A little compassion for them for their love given for nothing, a little anger for the blind eye they turned, that’s all.
13. Could you sacrifice yourself for the good of everyone else?I was given a certain number of years to live and I have lived that twice over. I have gotten from life more than I could ever have asked. I would rather it be me, than someone with more to gain.
25. What is more important to you? An idea of yours being used and appreciated or the credit for that idea beings yours and yours alone?I must say, there is a certain satisfaction to see something you discovered and wrote down displayed proudly with your name on it. That said, that feeling doesn’t age well, as I can vouch for. You really only need to overhear one group of students complaining about their teacher making them read your impossible to decipher texts, because you really wanted to sound smart in your twenties, and suddenly it’s not the name and recognition that’s important (especially since you have to see those students at every meal) but the good ideas someone might be able to dig up between all that academic jargon.
30. Do we live in a world of parallels? Can there be no hope without grief? No happiness without suffering? Or is a utopia possible? There is so much pointless suffering and grief in this world, that I wouldn’t feel comfortable saying to the people that face it, that it was all for some cosmic balance, that may or may not reward them with happiness. They deserve better than that, even if that is an understanding that sometimes horrible things happen for no reason at all.
Whether or not an utopia is possible I don’t think relates to that. I don’t think we need grief for our happiness, but it is the nature of people to bring grief. And politics. A lot of politics is just grief really.
Yes, there are plenty of people, mostly human, waiting for Maker to come back and give his children the paradise we deserve. But we have not deserved it yet, and we may never deserve it. Might as well be good to each other.

A very unimpressed young man. Wanted to have a go at drawing Konstantine when he was younger. This scene is him being woken up at the middle of the night for his Harrowing. Idk why the skull is there tho. Perhaps it’s a necromancer thing. He’s gonna gonk a templar over the head with it.
(also he looks like a person who listens to The Smiths a lot :D how that happened idk, but i’m cool with it)
(also also I broke my mouse doing this, good times, luckily got my lines finished before that, I have a spare mouse, but it’s v stiff)

2, 10, 18 for Konsta!!
Yaaaay!!
2. How good are they at tongue twisters?Considering that he tries to be very well-spoken as much as he can because of his upbringing I think he refuses to do them on principle. I don’t think he’d be good. Maybe he can do a few in his native tongue Nevarran. But only if Sayek (the qunari kid he adores) asks.
10. What’s their best stat? He’s really lopsided statwise because he is built with certain stats that can’t be raised (strength & constitution at -2 and perception at 0), because I wanted them to reflect his illness. That leaves some of his stats really high. His best one is Magic at 7, followed closely by Cunning and Willpower both at 6.
18. Would they rather fight a hundred duck-sized horses, or one horse-sized duck?Hmm…. This sounds like a question he would talk with the kids at the ship. :D I think he’d go for the horse-sized duck, because his sight isn’t too good (read: can barely see people in front of him), so it’s easier to aim and he doesn’t want to get overwhelmed.

First of my (hopefully many?) nuzlocke pics. As I mentioned, me and Räddi are doing the Nuclocke on Heartgold, and we’re naming all our pokemons after RP characters, so I decided why not illustrate some of these pairs. I need practice drawing animals anyway. First pair is HootHoot and Konstantine. Konsta the HootHoot was the first we caught and we love him very much. He is named after Konstantine bc owls are smart and so is him. Also, Konstantine needs like 16 hours of sleep/day and this HootHoot is insomniac, so they compliment each other nicely.

Warhammer 40k: Wrath & Glory RP #20
Here’s the exciting second to last session of our Dew Mtn adventuring!
We start with Saef’s adventures on Civitas A, as that happens approximately simultaneously to Gorm’s and Gimlet’s adventures.
Saef is not doing great, he’s starting to tap into the hivemind, and can’t be sure how long before he loses himself.
So quick acting is in order.
He rushes into his home, where his mom hits him with a frying pan. Not wounding luckily.
Analyn tells that Hao, Saef’s dad, went to get Saef’s sister Mai and Mai’s husband Wasim from the factory.
Saef tells Analyn and the kids to pack up, and he beams them up before continuing to the factory.
The factory is surrounded by cultists, but Saef has no trouble sneaking past.
He finds about 12 factory workers, including his family members, being caught by cultists, who Saef kills.
Saef tries to get the people to calm down and follow orders but some of the workers are panicking, until Hao tells them to listen to Saef.
Saef leads them to roof for teleporting.
Before they can all get beamed up, there’s an explosion close-by and a shout that sounds a lot like Gimlet.
So, Saef stays behind and goes to check that out.
Meanwhile, Gimlet is remembering.
He remembers playing hide-and-seek with his friend Jonathan, and his mother coming to get the boys.
The summer’s over and it’s time for them to go.
But in the middle of the memory, some strange, others memories bleed through, and Gimlet hears two voices talking.
Other sounds like Inquisitor Tanner, and the other like Eden?
Gimlet is shaken awake by Olga Eriksen, who together with her motorbike riding partner and their daughter Frita have stumbled upon the scene of the explosion.
Olga helps Gimlet to his feet and he goes over to check Apple Blossom’s unmoving body.
Unfortunately Gimlet’s first aid is too good and Apple Blossom stirs and attacks Gimlet.
Olga provides assistance by sitting on Apple Blossom, while Gimlet retreats to do first aid on himself.
This is when Saef gets to the scene.
Olga asks what to do with Apple, and Gimlet asks her to knock her out, which Olga does, by gonking their heads together.
Saef and Gimlet and Apple are going to head up, Olga and her partner refuse to be beamed up, as they need to go find their son, but Gimlet gives her his phone number, so they can get to safety once that’s done.
There’s some trouble with reaching Molly.
Gimlet uses his contacts and gets Lu Yan to teleport them up with the passenger teleporter.
Gimlet apparently still has some stuff he needs to do surface-side, but Saef secretly sabotages the passenger teleporter, so he doesn’t get himself killed.
Lu Yan and Gimlet have to start making their way to the cargo teleporter.
Saef takes Apple to the med bay, but not before calling Molly and telling her not to let Gimlet teleport on the surface.
Saef can’t go to the surface anymore, so he and Tabasco agree to lock him up with Apple so he won’t cause any trouble.
Before that Saef takes his people / cat / severed head to Molly’s place.
Molly requests a new necklace for her services.
Gorm wakes up in the snows of Fenris, in the middle of a snow storm, next to a canyon.
Next to him sits his pack leader Rolf, who talks, mostly to himself, about the duties of a Space Marine and ordinary people giving hope, and something like that, and then he asks Gorm where they went wrong.
Gorm notes that Rolf probably shouldn’t feel that bad as on the totem pole of people to blame for the pack going bad, he’s nowhere near the top.
Gorm then questions where he is, and Rolf replies that his implants are trying to restart themselves, which is why Gorm is hallucinating.
The hallucination ends with the arrival of the rest of Gorm’s pack; all the dead and chaos infected members, and Uffe at the front with wolf eyes.
Gorm is about to get to fighting, when Rolf steps in between and says that ”once again I must send you away for your own good”.
He then pushes Gorm into the canyon.
The last thing Gorm sees is Uffe attacking Rolf.
Gorm wakes up on the floor, and all he can see is a blue light and hear the emergency sirens, moments before the hull cracks and they are in space.
In that moment, Gorm is teleported back to the ship by Molly. Gorm gets up.
He’s not in great shape, a piece of his power armor is lodging itself into his back.
Gorm asks Molly about the tech priest, and Molly says she only got the people who had any life signs.
Gorm begins helping the people off the teleporter pad so Molly can get more people in.
That’s when Lu Yan and Gimlet get to the scene.
Molly refuses to teleport Gimlet down, but Gorm hears it, and says he’ll be teleporting down, and Gimlet can come with.
Gimlet weakly protests, but down they (and Mimir) go.
They teleport in front of a BBS building in the middle of the city.
Gimlet gets into the building and notices a bunch of dead cultists and a broken cell phone, which he pockets.
Gorm asks if they’re here to loot phones.
Gimlet refuses to answer, and follows a trail of blood out of the back door.
There they pick up on a fight happening.
Some cultists and genestealer have a person surrounded in a half-way broken building.
Gorm and Mimir rush into the fray.
Mimir basically tears a genestealer to bits.
Gimlet gives supportive fire.
Gorm soon catches glimpse of the person they are saving.
It’s Inquisitor Inpax, who’s in rather poor shape, and not doing any better as she suddenly gets swarmed.
But Gorm, Gimlet and Mimir manage to get the cultists down.
Gimlet is immediately checking up on Inpax, who demands to use a phone.
She calls her men (presumably) to tell them to not let Kane Bullard out of their sight, and to check up on Eden.
Inpax has several usb-sticks and a tank with a piece of flesh with her.
Gorm says he has no time to stay and chit-chat, as there’s still stuff to be done.
He calls sergeant Revan and asks if he could join his troops for the battle. Revan is glad to have assistance.
And so off Gorm goes to do some battling.
Gimlet and Inpax teleport back up to the  ship.
We move onto a little bit of a time skip.
Santa Maria evacuates civilians from Dew Mtn to other planets.
Saef is locked up.
Gimlet goes to the medbay.
Gorm fights the good fight.
He loses a leg, Sergeant Revan loses his life.
But the Genestealers and the Psykers are defeated, and the day is saved.
Saef finally gets out of his exile now that he’s not in danger of turning on other people.
He goes to visit Inpax, who is still a bit weary looking from her trip to Civitas A.
She asks what’s up with Saef’s nose and Saef says he got hit by a 16-year-old.
Speaking of which… Saef explains Rat’s situation to Inpax.
Inpax says that she has gotten a teacher for Saef who could look over Rat as well.
Then Inpax asks for a favor from Saef.
Inpax has arrested Kane Bullard and his men, and they’ll be soon transported to an Inquisition base for interrogation.
There’s one thing Inpax is curious about, and that is the nature of Eden’s co-operation with Kane Bullard’s schemes.
Perhaps Saef could ask about that?
Saef says he can, and he will.
Oh, and Theo is ok to be reversed as clearly Kane Bullard was not working within the law.
Tabasco sends out a text to Gimlet saying he wants to talk about the naked dude Gimlet dropped off into his medbay.
They meet up during Tabasco’s lunch break.
Tabasco has some bad news, the dude (dude being Andrew Andrés) is basically dead.
There’s nothing Tabasco can think of to wake him up.
But he checked his brain scans, and there was something odd, something maybe psykic-related.
And hey, there’s apparently an actually sanctioned psyker on board, so Tabasco has heard, perhaps Gimlet could ask him for help. That’s all. Gimlet says he’ll do so.
Gorm has checked himself into the medbay, and Tabasco comes to talk with him about his leg situation.
Tabasco doesn’t do prosthetics, but they have a tech-priest on board.
He’ll just have to hope the Inquisition will allow the tech-priest to be borrowed long enough to make all the legs Tabasco’s patients need.
This number is three, as apparently Jennifer’s legs couldn’t be saved.
Gorm says not to worry, the Inquisitor owes him one.
Layla comes to visit Gorm at the medbay, because of course she does.
Well, she was originally visiting her mom, but upon seeing Gorm comes to check on him.
Gorm tells of his heroic accomplishments and even suggests that the Sable Swords wanted to make Gorm their sergeant after Revan died (but a field medic by the name of Carl is probably going to be promoted).
Layla is very taken with the stories, as always.
Gorm tells her that a good wolf always aims to save as many people as they can.
Layla comments on how Gorm and her mom are going to be the same as they’ll both be getting new legs.
Gorm mentions that he is planning on going back to Fenris soon, as apparently he has been called upon, and wonders if Layla would like to come with.
Layla says of course, but Gorm says he’ll talk with Jennifer first and forbids Layla from mentioning it to her mother before that.
Layla agrees, hugs Gorm and goes to see her mother.
Saef receives a text message from Inpax that his and Rat’s teacher has arrived, and to go meet him.
So Saef goes by Molly’s place to pick his people / cat / severed head up.
Molly is fast asleep, so Saef leaves her a gift card for the necklace.
He drops Theo, Felis Catus and Kuru’s head at his place before heading to meet his new mentor.
Gimlet happens to find this mentor first.
He turns out to be an older gentleman by the name of Konstantine Holzer, tall and thin, sporting one mechanical eye and one seemingly blind one.
Upon hearing Gimlet’s requests, Konstantine agrees to see to the patient, though he says he is not a healer.
Just then Saef and Rat get there, and Konstantine says he’ll meet Gimlet in the medbay.
Konstantine questions Saef about his knowledge of the warp, which seems to be a bit lacking to say the least.
Well, he’s going to be taught, but Konstantine feels Rat might be a bit bigger of a concern first.
Before Saef leaves Rat with Konstantine, Konstantine asks Saef to speak with him in private.
Upon doing so, Konstantine asks whether Saef is aware that Rat is not human.
Saef says well he is now.
Konstantine suspects Eldar and asks Saef to tell about Rat’s background.
It seems most likely Rat has been raised among humans, but surely she is aware of her, well, difference.
That’s a problem for them once Rat becomes visible.
Mostly Inpax’ problem.
Gimlet has meanwhile come to the medbay and stops to check up on Gorm.
Gorm asks what happened to Inpax after he left.
Gimlet says he took her here and she was taken care of.
Gorm says he would have appreciated Gimlet’s help back on the planet, but he gets it, Gimlet needed rest and relaxation.
Gimlet wants to talk about the awkwardness between them ever since the whole wolf-incident.
Gimlet says he’s sorry that he didn’t take it well, but he wants to make sure Gorm knows Gimlet respects his culture.
Gorm suggests another hunt.
Gimlet says maybe they could go to the bar to hunt for drinks.
Gorm seems agreeable to this.
Gorm says it’s good that Gimlet and Jennifer got a bit angry at him, since Gorm has his own perspective and sometimes it’s hard to see outside it.
Gimlet explains why he took it so badly, as Tanner did the same to him, taking him in as a child.
At least he got an education.
Gorm asks if Gimlet would have chosen this path had he been given the choice, and Gimlet admits that, well, there wasn’t much of a choice, namely because his mother apparently had just been slain, thus confirming that Cara is indeed his mother.
Gorm says he’s sorry.
Gorm then mentions being called back to Fenris and he wishes Gimlet to help with how to ask Layla about actually becoming a Space Wolf, as she is starting to be around the age where she will be taken in, if she is to become one.
Gimlet suggests maybe talking with Jennifer.
Gorm also isn’t quite sure how to bring up the fact that the process of becoming a Space Marine does take away people’s memories.
Well there’s no clear answers to that, especially because Konstantine appears to check over Andrew Andrés.
Gorm is still hostile, but perhaps a bit more respectful towards this new psyker.
Konstantine checks Andrew over and says he has to agree with Tabasco, he is gone.
But not all gone, as Konstantine can use psykic means to get into his head and get some information, if that is something that could be of use.
To do that he would need some kinds of anchors to hold onto, names and places.
Gimlet suggests Cara and Tanner.
Konstantine seems a bit unsure on whether to ask Inpax for permission, but finally agrees that Tabasco’s permission should be enough.
He needs a bit of time to prepare, so we’ll leave that for next time.
And that’s all. Next session, Saef talks with approximately seventeen people and I guess Gorm and Gimlet are there too (well no, they got stuff to do too) (lots of discussions) (all the plot) (next time!).

I finally got around to cleaning the calendar which I’ve used to keep track of our RP since like 10th campaign. It is pretty much as accurate I can get it, so I consider it canon-ish (also bc no one as far as I know, has contested me with their own one :P), but I might tweak it every now and then. I’m putting this out here now, mainly for the ease of accessibility for me and our other GMs, since it seems we have started to run into more questions of “when did this happen?” -kind as of late. Couple of quick headshots. First up it’s the goth siblings, Katerine and Konstantine Holzer. First time drawing Katerine, who we haven’t met in game. Then it’s Cahair, bc I can always use tattoo practice. (also I keep changing his skin color, maybe one day I’ll stick with one)

DnD asks 6., 7., 11., 12., 23. & 25. for Konstantine!
6. What’s their theme song?Well, I have a whole playlist of songs relating to him, but his “theme” has always been Suzanne Vega’s “Tired of Sleeping”, which I have interpreted way more seriously than it probably should. :P It’s definitely relating more to his childhood, but I think it fits.
Oh Mom, the bird on the string is hangingHer bones are twisting and dancingShe’s fighting for her small lifeOh Mom, I wonder when I’ll be wakingIt’s just that there’s so much to doAnd I’m tired of sleeping
7. What fictional character are they most like? Was this an intentional or accidental influence?Coming hard with them tough questions, aren’t we? :P My first thoughts went to Wynne. They’re similar probably more because of their similar circumstances, but they do have some similarities in character as well: generally good-natured but absolutely suffer no fools, outwardly distant from Circle politics yet secretly more radical than they’d like to admit etc. I had no intentional influences creating him.
11. What is their favorite anime? He’d be so into FMA, ngl. :D
12. What’s their favorite beverage?Apple juice.
23. Thoughts on death?Plenty. He used to be super-afraid of it, partly because his parents were so sure he’d keel over dead any second so they mostly kept him locked up at their estate. He got better about it when he met his aunt, who had died of the similar illness at their family crypt and of course later having a direct influence on his own lifespan certainly helped. In general he has been ready for his own death for a long time now.
The fact that after he was banished from Nevarra, that he no longer has a place secured in the family crypt has opened some old fears. That had been such a constant in his life, no matter when he died, he’d have a place there, someone would take care of his body, someone would check out how he died and maybe learn something from it that could be helpful to others. Now he’s going to die alone, in that sense, his body either burned as Andrastians do or dropped into the sea, leaving nothing behind, and that’s scarier to him than actual dying. He’s dealing with that relatively well, though, the ship keeps him busy.
He has been very preoccupied with his own death for most of his life, so he deals very very poorly on anyone else’s dying, since he has always believed he’d be the first one to go, and refuses to think of the possibility that someone he cares about (who are few and far in between) may actually die before he does.
25. Favorite animal?Cats (his family had a siamese cat when he was little), sparrows (lots of them around his childhood home).

Konstantine: 5, 16, 24, 30, 34 :>
5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?- Lyrium & pain killing potions- A necklace with the Nevarran crest- Handkerchief- Some money- A very small obsidian knife wrapped safely away (cos it very sharp)
16. Which does your character idealize most: happiness or success?I think he was very success-oriented before. He began his career as trying to get a hold of his own life and suddenly found himself with a lot of knowledge many people found useful and even life-changing. That was the most important part, to help as many as he could. And being known was kind of a given, since he was a nobleman’s son. That said, he might be at a bit of a turning point on this axle in his life, because all that he could have still done was taken away because of petty politics that lead him to fake his death. The similar kind of successes he has enjoyed before are just not something he can accomplish at the ship (he doesn’t have permission to do the things he used, nor materials, nor colleagues with similar level of education, nor any texts on the subject). He might find that new calling as a teacher (esp with little Sayek and Boshara to a lesser extent), but the situation might also make him realize that since he is on limited time, maybe he should focus more on the happiness? Idk how it’ll turn out yet.
24. How quick is your character to trust someone else?Too quick. :D Took our adventuring group about 3 hours to get him to go “Ok, I guess you guys are alright”, and he is a mage in hiding. In general he thinks best of people, and thinks that people have good intentions. This also includes templars in most cases, which might be a bit odd for a mage? He doesn’t much care for politics, so people who are heavily involved (and not related to him), he might not trust as fast.
30.What does your character find repulsive or disgusting?People who take the whole Nevarran “dead-family-members-still-part-of-family” thing too far. Like yes, they are still around, but they are not alive. And that’s kind of a crucial detail. So people who treat the risen corpses as living things. He also has emetophobia (fear of vomit).
34. Is your character more likely to keep trying a solution/method that didn’t work the first time, or immediately move on to a different solution/method?He moves on pretty quickly. He usually spends quite a long time working out a solution in his head (if the problem allows it), before trying it, so if it doesn’t work, then clearly he’s looking at the problem from a wrong angle.

If you're still doing the OC thing: Cahair - 28, 34 and 36. Konstantine - 19, 39 and 49 :)
Yeah, I am. :D I reblogged it and then disappeared to play Diablo with my pal. Thanks for asking!
Cahair:
28. If your character became a celebrity, what would they be famous for?Well he’s part of an adventuring group that owns a pirate ship, so I guess that’s a good starting point. Our group has gained some reputation already, but only among small groups of people we’ve either helped or hindered.
If we have to go for Cahair alone… Well, he has trained with an assassin, and I don’t think he’d be above political murder if the situation was dire enough and killing someone would help his people. Does political assassin count as a celebrity? :D
34. Does your character have favorite foods? (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks, etc)He has a huge sweet tooth. Since he grew up in the forest, his experience is mostly limited to berries and honey. I think he’d absolutely adore chocolate if he’d ever get his hands on it. And pastries filled with whipped cream.
36. Does your character have any medical conditions? Are they serious or minor? Do they affect their day to day life?No physical conditions, he has had plenty of bones broken etc but we have a healer on hand, so those have always been fixed. But he does have severe PTSD from that one time when half of his clan got killed by that one dude who got possessed. The worst it has been was the time when he got captured by a nightmare demons, because of it. He’s doing a lot better now, although certain phrases and topics (related to demons and anger) do trigger him. Most often he completely freezes up then, so it might sometimes be hard to notice.
Konstantine
19. Would your character be the kind to get into fights? (physical or verbal) Would they be a good fighter or cave in rather easily?Konstantine doesn’t like to fight, either way, and does try his best to avoid them. His father was (and currently his sister is) the leader of his home country’s army, and Konstantine served for a while in his 20′s. I think growing up in a household where war was such a center-piece, he learned to understand the need to pick your battles very carefully, and never hurt anyone if it could be avoided. He’s not very confrontational by nature, though he has little patience with foolishness.
As for if he’d be any good, well it depends. Verbally he’d fare pretty well, since most of the things he gets into fights about are things he knows a lot about. And he has the good sense to step down at some point too.
Physically? He’s decent with a sword and a skilled mage and a necromancer, so his odds are pretty good, unless the foe happens to be able to stop magic. He was born with a heart condition, and basically keeps his heart beating with magic, so as soon as that stops, he’s down.
39. When people look at your character, is there some assumption they might make about them just by appearance? Is that assumption correct?I actually asked few friends about this. This was really interesting.
One said he probably looks like a pretty brainy dude, having the dusty scholar aesthetic going on. He also figured people would think he’s older than he really is, because he’s very thin and boney. (he is smart and only 49)
The other said that he might come across as cold and unkind, as he doesn’t emote very noticeably and he can be quite scary looking. (he is nice, and not at all cold)
What I’d like to add is that people would probably figure that he’s recovering from an illness of some sort, since he’s quite sickly looking.
Also people who know anything about the people of Konstantine’s home country might also suspect that he works with the dead based on what he’s wearing, and they’d be correct.
49. What is something that your character has nightmares about? Are these frequent? Do they heavily affect your character’s mood?Well, only recently he lost his father, and then had to watch his father’s corpse get possessed. I think that haunts him, though probably what bothers him most is that he didn’t have time to finish preparing the body and do the rites surrounding the mummification. He never got closure and his father never got his place among his ancestors.
He also has a lot of dreams about dying. Less (or at least less nightmarish) now that he has made his peace with the fact that that’s just something that’s going to happen, and he can’t know when.
Nightmares make him pretty withdrawn. He turns to books to find his balance again.
