Yeah, mum love noodles so we are back at Sarawak Kolo Mee located in Koufu (口福) Food Court at Sun Plaza. No prize for guessing which bowl belongs to mum. She had the Crispy Chicken Kolo Mee (香酥鸡排哥罗面) with no added chilli sauce. The sliced pieces of breaded deep-fried chicken cutlet covered the curly noodles at the bottom with those sinfully yummy fried pork lard at the side. Dry style noodles dish in Singapore is always paired with a bowl of soup.

For my Mushroom Chicken Feet Noodle (香菇鸡脚面), I loaded it with fried pork lard and a scoop of the chilli paste. A pair of fried and then braised chicken feet, braised mushrooms and mince pork over the springy kolo mee. Some people might balk at eating chicken legs, also known as phoenix claws (凤爪) if that sound better to you. But if prepared and cooked properly, they are such a delicacy. Very commonly eaten in China and Asian countries, even dim sum places around the world offered it on the menu.

God of Stars lyrics: Singapore Umaimon
Hi, Hoshigomi here! Where I lack in Translation Qualifications, I more than make up for in Hoshigumi Love and God of Stars knowledge! The God of Stars translation is well underway, and I’m really excited to put the full thing out there once it’s finished! In the meanwhile here’s some (slightly reworked thanks to the recent early release of this song) lyrics to Singapore Umaimon! This may not be perfect, but I am confident that the vibe and intent of the song is very much captured here, so どうぞ、y’all. ❤️
Singapore Umaimon
Nicholas: Let’s shine up this old stall- get the renovation going!
P-Heaven: -We’ll get more customers through SNS and set our sights on a revolution!
Reo: Chicken rice!
Michelle Pepper crab!
Lao Hu: Chili crab!
Paradise prince: Crab! Crab! Crab!
Ren: For breakfast, kaya toast!
Mao: We’ll have to have bak kut teh!
Canon: Prawn mee
Sin: Fish ball mee
Hope: Kolo mee P-Heaven: Loh mee
Hope/Sin/Canon: Noodles! Noodles!
Nicholas: For desserts-
Tan Yang: Bobochacha!
Eileen: Kueh dadar!
Nicholas: We’re cookin’ cookin’ cookin’ cookin’ - !
Eileen/Reo/Michelle/Nicholas/Tan Yang: - aaand - done!
Ren/Mao: Paradise Gyoza!
Paradise Prince: Let’s cooking happy full course, we’ll deliver you this dream! Everyone (let’s eat!!) dig in!
Hong & Company: Let’s cooking happy full course, we’ll deliver you this dream! Everyone (it’s delicious!) is feeling so good!
Hong: We’re serving up happiness!
*The lyric is literally “Let’s cooking happy full course”, sung in the original song in English. It’s not even a funky translation on my part.

Sing U.Me
Had a lunch date with my childhood friend who came over surprisingly to visit on a leisurely trip. So we decided to eat at Sing U.Me
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This be the signboard, outdoor dining and the entrance (where my lovely hubby inadvertedly posed for me) of the restaurant. It's located in the Mata-Mata area where I had blogged about the Mamih branch in this area. They have 2 branches technically, another one being in Gadong, but since we were nearby the area, we went here.

This be the interior of the restaurant. Definitely had the feel of a Chinese restaurant, almost a little like Axtivo when you dine in the inside, and they got all the settings, wall props and furniture just right to tell you that this is a Chinese restaurant. Technically I've been here once or twice, but seeing that I hadn't had my camera back then, it's a no-brainer that this is my first piece considered for this restaurant
Tumblr media
My iced Milo (breakfast of champions)...
Tumblr media
My hubby's childhood friend's herbal tea (I think)...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And both my childhood friends' coffee and teh-C ping
Tumblr media
We ordered some dim sum, which is more or less the regular orders of siu mai and chicken feet (prolly the only thing available). Tastes pretty good, but not as good as Lucky Restaurant's dim sum. Theirs is still the best
Tumblr media
I ordered something called Singapore (or was it Hong Kong) wet noodles or something. It basically looks almost like wa tan ho, but the noodle taste overpowers the egg sauce, and it's a mix between the regular noodles and the short rice noodles into one batch, which is pretty intriguing. An interesting taste, not bad, and the sauce is quite flavourful
Tumblr media
My hubby ordered kolo mee with char sau and wan tan, the old school house product of any Chinese restaurant who knows the trades of serving kolo mee. Looks yummy, but I can't judge it since I didn't try it
Tumblr media
My buddies all ordered pan mian, which is also one of my favourite Chinese noodle dishes aside from wa tan ho. Looks and smells nice though, maybe I should've snuck a taste
There you have it, my two-cents on this restaurant. Overall it's a pretty decent Chinese restaurant with satisfactory dishes and worth to pay a trip to. Recommendable only for non-Muslims though
