Sorry I didn’t think about the ask being lost when I re-deleted my account but I got my collage work done early so this is what the ask/submission was if you didn’t get a chance to see it earlier. I also apologize in advance for the looong ramble. 😅
But I was saying that really cool that you had koi! I love them they are really friendly and interactive fish if you earn their trust! And I’m glad a friend of yours was able to take them so you can visit them. Depending on how often they probably will still remember you. They did a study and fish in the carp family like koi and goldfish can remember stuff up to 10 and a half-11 months. I have 600 gallons connected to an aquaponic greenhouse so the fish waste in the water feeds the plants and the plants act as an additional filter and clean the water to be cycled back to the fish.
I had two koi Sunny (sunburst who ended up being male) and Jackie (jack-o’-lantern who turned out to be a girl). Unfortunately a raccoon got in and killed Sunny. After that Jackie (unlike 4 of 5 the goldfish that recovered in two days Tangerine died from injuries the day after the attack) would not come up for food for 5 days and just laid at the bottom of the pond in the back corner until we got two new baby Koi: Polka and Shade. The first time she came up was when I was floating their bag in the pond. Shade immediately took to Jackie but Polka is still scared of the other bigger fish and will only come out of hiding if shade is there. When Polka does she/he is like glued to Shade and swims nose to tail with Shade
Plus a common pleco named snowflake I got back in middle school 10 years ago who has grown to 18 inches. Fun fact pet stores lie common pleco dare in the armored catfish family and only eat algae the first year until they reach maturity and turn into scavengers that need meat supplemented into their diet or they get aggressive towards all other fish because they become vitamin deficient. If you have an aquarium try getting Nerite snails, they are awesome algae eaters and never grow out of it, they are messy but clear algae insanely fast and they can live in freshwater but I add a small amount of fresh water safe aquarium salt (and they need calcium supplements for their shell) but they only reproduce in brackish water plus unlike some snails that self reproduce, they need a male and female as well so they won’t take over.
And with the koi and pleco I have a blue Japanese Shubunkin goldfish (sky) and I had gotten 5 of the feeder goldfish for sale. (One of the common ones ended up turning white and being a comet goldfish.) Unfortunately my biggest common goldfish Tangerine who was 5 inches died from injuries the day after the raccoon attack. Because of that we got a pond cover that completely covers the pond and we tie it down at night. When I’m outside to watch them I’ll leave it uncovered.
I'm sorry, you said you had an aquaponic greenhouse...?
That is impressive. I love most of the self-sufficiency, self-reliance, permaculture, homesteading aspect of taking care of one's self and community. I've heard of that aquaponic system before, but never met anyone who utilized it. That's so cool.
Ayooo! I knew that part about plecos, where they get older and stop cleaning the tank, but I didn't know they're meat eaters!
Omg those fish are massive and pretty. Thank you so much for sharing.
#@azorastarrjedisentinel#If anyone here has an aquarium - you might find this interesting#Shyspider answers#Ughh I wanted a little pond but you just reminded me about raccoons#And I have a LOT of wildlife that likes to visit

Mention of Asian coldwater fishes usually involves the domesticated goldfish and koi strains, although a number of other fishes exist in that region, that are of interest to aquarists. Many of them are also cyprinids, or carp by a loose definition. One such species is the clicker barb, also known as the topmouth and sharp-mouth gudgeon, and sometimes as the stone moroko or 'morocco', Pseudorasbora parva. This is a small species compared to goldfish and koi, growing to 12 or 13 centimeters or 5 inches long. More commonly they are 8 centimeters or a little over 3 inches.
This species now has a wide distribution in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, because of accidental and, perhaps, deliberate introductions by man. However its origination is in countries such as China and Korea, and generally from the Amur catchment to the Zhujiang basins in the far east of Eurasia. Since then it has been distributed as far as England, Spain, and North America, where it is predicted to colonise from Vancouver and Seattle, south to the middle Mississippi region
Though P. parva is sometimes thought of as a stream fish within its original, wild distribution, it is also present there in oligotrophic and eutrophic lake environments, and has tolerance of relatively stagnant waters. Indeed the clicker barb is found abundantly in vegetated channels, ponds and small lakes. They also breed better in still and slow flowing waters. In all this fish is best considered as a habitat generalist, although one with a strong affinity for life among the shelter of submerged vegetation.
What is a barb? The word 'barb' originated in the name of Barbus barbus, a species of carp that is never called a barb in English, but is known as the barbel. The etymology comes originally from the barbels or oral 'whiskers' of Barbus and many other carp. The name of barb has come to be applied to many Asian and other carp, that are not necessarily closely related among the cyprinid clade of fishes - in effect the word 'barb' is a synonym of 'carp' in the same sense that a 'myna' or 'mynah' is a starling. Ironically the clipper barb does not itself possess its namesake barbels.
Unlike most other fish known to the aquarium trade as 'barbs', P. parva is a temperate species, doubt well at a British living room temperature. Introduced populations in Spain may tolerate water as warm as 28 degrees centigrade in the summer months, but not around the year. In the warmer months of spring and summer, the temperature should not drop below 15 degrees. This species grows fastest between 21 and 23 degrees centigrade, but also well enough at 19 and 25 degrees.
P. parva are omnivorous fish that consume plant material such as algae, as well as insects and similar arthropods, and other animal material, such as fish eggs. They display dietary flexibility in the wild, having a broader diet in the cooler seasons, and similarly adapting their diet in line with their locality. Such omnivorous fishes are never difficult to feed on the aquarium, assuming they are in good shape, because they accept a good variety of proprietary foods.
In the wild, this species displays a fondness for vegetated habitats, and the aquarist should respect this. Although they dislike brackish environments, this species have good tolerances of pH and hardness, and likely do best in at a pH close to 8. P. parva may be housed alongside other placid and non-piscivorous temperate fishes in the aquarium. However, restrictions are now in place on its sale for fair ecological reasons. But members of the species may still be rehomed if they become available.

Indukan Jantan dan Betina Ikan Koi yang akan dikawinkan berusia cukup matang, kurang lebih berumur 2 tahun;
Ikan Koi yang akan dikawinkan harus dari jenis yang sama;
Indukan ikan Koi memiliki bentuk tubuh yang ideal, budidaya ikan koi mengumpamakan ikan Koi yang memiliki lekuk tubuh seperti torpedo jika dilihat dari atas;
Indukan Ikan Koi bergerak atau berenang dengan tenang dan seimbang, tidak terlalu cepat dan juga tidak terlalu lambat;
Indukan Ikan Koi untuk budidaya ikan koi harus memiliki warna yang indah, cerah dan kontras;

Sediakan Tempat Khusus
