Technically this is a redraw of an old merman drawing prompt I did ages ago but I wanted to draw a cheeky mermaid for a cover illustration and a half-page mermaid would fit so well… so this happened real quick.

MerMay Adventure Day 19- Piston Hondo (Punch Out!!) @sukipershipper

Man; this garden looks pretty peaceful, that you kinda want to- hold on a minute, was that a splash?! Hold on, it’s legendary boxer Piston Hondo!

And it seems he’s become a koi merman of all creatures! Doesn’t he look absolutely gorgeous?

After all, sunbathing in a relaxing garden is more than enough to get your daily vitamin d in after training!

Anyways, let’s make our way to Gensokyo- ASAP!

Fish-uary Day 16: Freshwater (Goldfish and Koi)

I love betta fish, but I also love goldfish and koi. If I could, I would put a large koi pond in my yard and name all of them.

Also! The two in this piece are in the same setting/story the shark merman, Llyr, I drew on day one! Their names are Clover and Hibana. Clover is the little goldfish, while Hibana is the koi.

While not shown, Hibana also has burn scars on her left arm and on her chest.

Imagine being a little koi fish mermaid and living in a beautiful pond on some wealthy estate. Just chilling in an extremely fancy pond (we're talking minnie water fall, small bridge going across, fountain in the middle, lush trees and plants both in and surrounding the area, stone statues/homes, the works) and being taken care of and fussed over by the staff and the estates residents.   Talking with the elderly lady/lord of the house as they take their daily stroll through the gardens. Playing with the small children on the estate. Developing a friendship with the gardener as he takes care of all of the plants surrounding your home. Meeting a variety of new people both good and bad during garden parties that the estate hosts. The maids/servants sneaking you treats from the kitchen (mostly pastry's) as they come to give you your meal or just when they visit.

Developing a crush on the lord/lady of the house who comes by every day to visit you every day to cheek on and talk to you.

Just being a tiny mermaid living your best life surrounded by very nice people.

Here’s my interesting adventure into 3d printing and Bjd modification.

I got a Doll Chateau Charles head (I’m using the body for a project ie. floating head). And my first thoughts for the sculpt was fishy! so I made a pair of koi ear fins and eyes.

I also had a different parts body and though 🤔 Why not make a mermaid??? Soo bam! Found this print on Thingiverse “Bunny Doll Mermaid mod” by Enchanterium. I sized it up a ton.

I printed on my creality ender 3 PLA. I had way too many failures and then some problems sizing it (as I am big stupid).

I sculpted scales onto the prints because t’s helped a ton to enhance the sculpt! Then I use wood filler for the lines (should have done that first instead of the scales)

Sealed it with automotive primer and then air brushed it white.

The koi colors was painted in with acrylic paint through several washes and dry brushing. I also of course used plenty of mica powder to shine this up.

I didn’t suede before hand. But I should have thought that through as the paint immediately scraped 😮‍💨 Definitely could’ve planned it better.

I want to make them a larger tail (maybe a fabric cover?) because it’s visually small.

Like look at that face! I have yet to do their face up but it’s gonna but full blown koi/traditional East Asian style makeup.

Their look also includes vitiligo white patches. I already painted them on the human body and will continue into the face up.

I really had a great time transforming this doll!

I will make sure to update when the face up/doll is done (in probs like 3 years).

WIP on another girlie with no legs and wildly flowing hair~

Despite growing up a pegasus/fantasy/fairy/dragon/elfin lover, I think this *may* just be the first time I've drawn a mermaid 0.0 I find this wildly surprising considering my background of *fantasy creature* obsessed.
