On the 23rd of August, seven years ago, The King of Fighters XIV was released in North America for the PS4.

After the 13th installment that used 2D raster imagery, this game is rendered entirely in 3D.

The development of The King of Fighters XIV began in April 2014, after SNK's CEO Eikichi Kawasaki who reoriented the company toward traditional video games after several years of focus on Pachinko-style slot machines and mobile apps. Yasuyuki Oda, who previously worked on Capcom's Street Fighter IV and other titles by SNK, directed the game. It retains the series' system of teams composed of three fighters while introducing "Rush Combo", an automatic combo system designed to make the series more accessible for new players.

The King of Fighters XIV received generally favorable reviews. Critics praised the game's fighting system as enjoyable for both new players and fighting game experts, but criticized its graphics as inferior to other fighting games released for the eighth generation of video game consoles.

So I also just found out about these. This group, The Band of Fighters, consists of Athena Asamiya (Lead Singer) Kyo Kusanagi (Guitarist on the Right), Iori Yagami (Guitarist on the left). Terry Bogard (Drums), and Nakoruru (Keyboardist). All the members appeared in (or originate from in Kyo and Iroi's case) from The King of Fighters Series, with Athena and Iori already having Backgrounds in Music prior.

BOF does exist outside of these animatronics (which were located at the Neo Geo World Indoor amusement park), as there was merch, such as Key holders, mugs, plushies, and even some Audio Drama CD's were produced for the group. Also there is another, 23 Minute Video of pretty decent quality up on Youtube and it's incredible.

This has probably be one of the weirdest submissions you’ll see but: there was an animatronic band based on fighting game video game characters.

It’s called band of fighters and it was only in Japan during the 90’s bc of strange business practices

Would love it if they added another SNK character to Smash Bros but instead of it being someone like Geese Howard or Nakoruru, it's fucking Choi Bounge from KoF

I have been thinking about the shingo gaiden manga

And like, I'm jumping on a lot of assumptions here but if we don't break the lore of it being a bloodline thing,...shingo getting flames without being from any means he, shingo yabuki, got amaterasu blessing on his own.

(I do not remember kof lore well, like it makes sense in my head, the three sacred treasures belonged to amaterasu, so she is the one that blessed the bloodlines to produce flames -and whatever kagura clan does - but i know there were like other 7 treasures in some other game and that reels me up. Probably minor ones? Or other god ones? Idk)

Well, but if that's the case that's the way to go, shingo! Super impressive feat!!

Like, funnily enough I think orochi would consider him the bigger threat. That sounds hilarious to me, but not anyone gets the attention of the boss lady.

(I have not idea how snk treats amaterasu and susanoo and the rest. Maybe is in nakoruru lore idk)
