Can you recommend some down to earth romance manga and down to earth fantasy manga? I have been reading Kowloon Generic Romance and while there are some moments that I really love and adore, the story just doesn't... I don't know, it just doesn't fully click with me, if you know what I mean.

All my recent recs are either "i want it to be translated but helas" category or "things i recommend all the time" category, but okay let's try something new:

romance:

- Mobuko no Koi by Tamura Akane

- Hokuou Kizoku to Moukinzuma no Yukiguni Karigurashi by Emoto Mashimesa and Shirakaba Shikayo

-Otoko no Isshou by Nishi Keiko (recently reread and loved it again even if the themes are not mine)

- Ase to Sekken by Yamada Kintetsu (not really what i mean by down-to-earth romance but still was surprisingly ok to read)

- Hana to Hoho by Itoi Kei (not fully translated тт)

recently read it and loved it but not so much of romance:

- Sekai de Ichiban Yasashii Ongaku by Ozawa Mari (family theme, a bit of romance)

- Zassou-tachi yo Taishi Idake by Ikebe Aoi (growing up, coming of age)

- Yama Wayama's works (slice of life with great balance of weirdndess and logic)

Annnnd everything is not so good with down-to earth fantasy, even if we exclude romance. It seems authors I see within my reach all think that if you have fantasy in genres you must have global conflicts, magical schools (with global conflicts), deepest social commentary with thickest metaphors or everything of it together and it makes me so very sad. I think I get it what you mean about Kowloon, my attitude towards it is similar (though not sure if our reasons are the same).

- Mekakushi no kuni by Tsukuba Sakura (aka my eternal rec until i find something like this again)

- Majo-senpai Nippou by Mochida Maka (at least cute)

- Kobatotei Ibun by Miyako Takano (it's where i whine why such things are always oneshots or 1-volume stories)

If someone knows good fantasy stories that are not centered on saving the world, deep and complicated political intrigues, revolutions and magic schools but rather on same old plain slice of life and people's relationships, please feel free to share, you see people are suffering, at least two of us weird people who want slice of life romance even in fantasy ;--;
