You guys have NO idea how strongly I feel about catbat

Their personalities would just bounce off of each other so well. Carrie is an absolute madwoman who doesn't care about following rules while Rem is quiet but ALSO doesn't care for rules as long as those she cares about are safe and happy. While Rem wouldn't care what Carrie is doing even if it's breaking the rules, she would shut it down the moment it puts anyone in danger.

Carrie would just think Rem is pretty as hell and flirt with her a lot, though mainly in a joking way. She would be absolutely flabbergasted when Rem reciprocates said flirting because. I mean come on now she's a giant bat lady.

Rem would honestly allow Carrie to sneak out of her room at basically any given time which I'm sure she would appreciate considering that's how she sees her friends. She'd probably find Carrie's shenanigans somewhere between both amusing and adorable.

Yooo it's a reboot intro post

Welp, as everyone here knows, this is a sparklecrit blog. I have been a fan for quite a while now and think some things need to change. Contrary to popular belief, I do not hate this comic. It's the exact opposite, actually. It's been a special interest for months now.

Some basic info about me and this blog:

I am a minor. Please do not act as if I'm an adult, because I'm not. This does not mean that I'm immune to being pointed out if I'm wrong though. I'm still comfortable with mature topics on this blog. Just do not send anything overly sexual or fetishized towards me, unless it is relevant to the comic. Small jokes are fine as long as they are not constant.

I go by He/She/They pronouns. You can call me WC for short, but WeirdUni works

Anons will almost always be open. I am open to any criticism you want to share, unless it is transphobic (ex: complaining about Uni or Sly being transfem) or you start name dropping people other that Kc. If you want to talk about the team, just say the ZC//P (censored for search reasons). If anons or asks are off, it just means I'm probably stressed. I get around to everyone eventually; if your ask has been sitting for a while you either broke one of my few rules or I'm getting my thoughts into coherent sentences.

Don't start calling me ableist for daring to criticize this comic. I have anxiety and depression along with trauma-induced problems of my own as well as having physical issues as well. Kc is not immune to criticism and neither am I. Being mentally ill or neurodivergent does not mean that everything you do is right. That is a very damaging and toxic outlook that this fandom seems to have.

An introduction

Welcome to Flickercare. As the bio states, this is a Sparklecare rewrite with the purpose of fixing the issues with SCH to my personal ability. As well as adding new problems to the mix that I will be handling with as much care as I possibly can.

Below the cut will be a basic FAQ as well as info about this au and me myself. Feel free to send any extra questions you have.

Why is this a rewrite and not an au?

Because this is simply not an au. It is instead a rewritten version of the canon universe. Some characters' physical appearances are changed slightly, but that is the closest that it comes to an au.

What all is changed?

There's a lot, but to sum it all up; it's mainly the characters. They are much ruder and flawed like their original counterparts were. There are also differences in how disability is represented; the hospital for one does not make up names for illnesses and disorders. In- universe sicknesses still exist.

Some backstories are also very different, but you'll learn about those later.

Is Spinch itself different?

Yes, there are different cultures. There are also politics, homophobia, and transphobia yet in much lesser amounts. There are going to be different religions as well; this post will be updated with a link to the post once they are all fully fleshed out.

Are the characters' identities any different?

This post on my critic blog lists the names and identities of the main cast and staff. The side patients will soon be listed as well.

Will this be a comic like the original SCH?

Most likely not, at least not at this time. I'm not very confident in my artistic abilities, especially in the Internet. This will mostly consist of writings, which will all be posted here as well as compiled on AO3 in the future for anyone who wants to read everything at once.

Though anyone is free to write or draw anything based on my work or headcanons. I would love to see it if you do either :] I may eventually post reference sheets for some characters.

Are any ships canon to this au?

Those are to be revealed, but there is a list of ships that are alluded to or will be talked about on here. This list is subject to change, and not all are romantic

I'm Rid! I'm a minor who goes by he/she/they/clown pronouns. I have had ideas for a rewrite for a long time, but I'm just now working on it. I ask that you don't harass me or Kc or anyone else over this; it's harmless and I'm having fun. I did not make this rewrite because I hate the comic, it's the exact opposite.
