Surprised in himself that he didn’t know. Akashi makes it a point to be well informed. He is pleased to hear their parents be so proud of them, even if they can’t compete anymore. It’s a rare thing for him for parents to be proud. He does see though that talking about the past hurts them, so he quickly moves to change the conversation to new, current achievements.

Aomine

Aomine never knew. But then again, he didn’t ask. He suddenly realizes talking to their parents that he doesn’t know a lot about his partner, other than just superficial junk that’s not really important. He asks why they never told him about it and they tell him it’s not important anymore, but he can tell that it is. If he lost basketball Aomine would lose it. He can’t think about what they must be going through, losing their dream, and he’s hurt that they didn’t trust him enough to share it with him.

Excited to talk about their accomplishment. Even though they can’t compete anymore, their work beforehand and their work & knowledge now is impressive. Kise is the only one that doesn’t treat their injury like a loss, but that and opportunity to change course. Like coaching. Or being a manager of a team. It’s certainly a surprise. Since Kuroko has never met this person, the ‘athlete s/o’, it’s definitely a shift in his opinion of them. He asks a lot of questions on what competitions were like or what is was like doing stunts, but he doesn’t really know too much about the sport of gymnastics. Basketball has been the only one he was ever interested in. Tries to be supportive and notices when they get a little upset talking about it. When he lost his old friends after middle school, he thought he would lose his friends & sport forever. So he can sympathize.

Midorima

He figured that they were some kind of athlete. Based on their build and how they worked out sometimes, they clearly had a strict schedule and routine for performance. Midorimia feels bad for them. He can’t imagine your dream getting taken away like that. All that hard work down the drain. Chooses to not bring it up anymore because he doesn’t want to upset them, but does ask for stretching tips as that is a big part of gymnastics training.

Murasakibara

Doesn’t really know what to say. Murasakibara has never really been interested in his sport. He plays it cause he’s tall, he’s good at it, and it gives him something to do. He would be just as happy not play as he is on a team. So he can’t really understand what they are going through. He thinks their medals are cool though. He’s never gotten a medal for basketball. Maybe if they had those instead of trophies he would be more invested.

It breaks his heart to know that their career is over. Kagami would die if he could never play basketball again, or his dreams of going pro were suddenly over. He can’t imagine how hard that must be, but he knows someone who does. Kagami makes a point to introduce them to Alex. Alex would understand and be a good support person for them. Teaching them how to cope and maybe use their skills for a new hobby or path. Kagami tries to be supportive as well and a source of comfort when they need it. Whatever they need he’s there for them.

~ Before dating, you guys had one of those friendships in which you do everything together. If one of you was somewhere, the other was likely not far off. You were also one of the only people he opened up to in any way

~ Even before your relationship was official, everyone half thought you were dating. You both always dismissed these ideas furiously, unaware of your pining being mutual

~ Was definitely a mess when he first asked you out. Despite trying to appear confident, it was clear that he was really flustered and that the nerves were getting to him. Kuroko’s Basketball boys x Pregnant Reader

These are head canons on how Aomine, Kagami, and Kise would be during your pregnancy.

Aomine

He’s not shocked at all. He claims that he knew you would be pregnant after one night in particular.

He doesn’t seem like he would want a baby, but behind closed doors you could tell how excited he was. His love for you and the baby did not stop his complaints whenever you asked him for weird cravings at night. Despite all of his complaints he would make sure you had everything you needed. No matter how difficult it is to get it. He even asks Murasakibara to help find the rare foods.

He starts making competitions with everyone else about whose kid would be better at basketball. Kagami was his main target.

“My baby’s going to kick your kids ass on the court.”

“Oh yeah, well see about that, Aomine.”

Kagami

He very shocked. You two hadn’t touched the topic of kids yet. That didn’t stop his excitement though. As soon as you told him he grabbed you and spun you around, reassuring you that he was ecstatic about the baby.

The news couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. Kagami’s basketball was taking off, leaving zero concerns about money. He was concerned about you though. He wouldn’t be able to stay with you, especially when his team went on tournaments. You had to convince him that you would be ok so he would go to his games.

He couldn’t wait to share the news with everyone either. Alex was one of the first people to find out about your pregnancy. She even volunteered to watch over you while Kagami was away. Kagami was worried about you to say the least

Literally will not shut up about it. He tells anyone and everyone he can, even when your standing next to him obviously pregnant. When he can’t handle all of the chores he calls in his mom. She makes sure everything is in order before and while your in labor. Making sure that you brought your baby home to a clean house.

If you thought that Kise would stop talking about your child after birth, you would be dead wrong. A newborn picture of your baby in a pink onesie would replace the ultrasound that he carried. He was a proud father and he was going to let everyone know it.

I usually don’t like when genderbends keep everything the same in characters but I don’t think Murasakibara’s preferences would change much. Her hair stays the same but she does enjoy putting on cute hair clips to keep her hair from getting in her face too much. The team gets her those cute clips with candy designs and things like that. Going back to headcanons of Akashi being lame, I have a headcanon that he doesn't know how to swing. He never got the chance since the many activities his father enrolled him in as a child meant he was nowhere near a park most of the time unless he was in the basketball courts practicing.

Yes, he probably had a playground in his elementary school that likely had a swingset, but if he never learned how to swing, I would bet he wouldn't wanna ask his peers either because he didn't wanna single himself out. So he just went his entire childhood not being able to swing on a swingset.

The next time he would find himself near a swingset is if maybe post-Winter Cup, the Teiko gang grabs food from Maji after a hangout sesh and goes to eat it in the park. After eating, Aomine and Kise make up a stupid competition to see who can swing the highest, and when Aomine keeps winning, Kise tries to enlist Akashi to help just to finally see Aomine get humbled. But to Kise and everyone else's surprise, Akashi reluctantly (and bashfully) admits that he doesn't actually know how to swing.

A smile graced Akashi's lips, slow and nearly imperceptible. He said, "if Nijimura-san is willing to indulge me, then of course, I must take him up on his offer."

"I'll teach you the proper way. Not like those idiots," Nijimura said, crouching down and rummaging through stones. The idiots he was referring to, Aomine and Kise (with Kuroko caught at the scene of the crime), were squabbling as much as they were competing earlier that day.

Akashi blinked slowly.

"I see." Akashi said. After a beat, he swung the door the rest of the way and stepped back, allowing Nijimura passage.

"Come," Akashi said, neither a suggestion nor a demand, and rather a third, more absolute thing. The circumstance had tickled Akashi somehow, he could tell, despite the infallibility of mismatched eyes.

Nijimura paused, hand on the door frame as he frowned down at him.

Akashi smiled. "It would be my folly as captain to merely observe the overexertion of one of our star players." Nijimura had learned fast that if there was amusement, excitement - rather, any stimulation, it would show in the intensifying of Akashi's gaze rather than the cold curl of his lips. "There will be no need for violence tonight."

"Aye aye, captain." Nijimura muttered underneath his top lip, sliding past Akashi into a room that was double the size of his own, and with half a mind to flick his junior-in-middle-school-now-irritatingly-grown-up-and-in-high-school's forehead to prove him wrong. "You used to be cute." Nijimura told him over lunch at a cafe Mibuchi insisted on to celebrate Sei-chan's graduation but deemed themselves too unwell to attend.

Akashi raised an eyebrow.

"I can revert to that, if you like."

The smirk was concealed by the rim of Akashi's cup, but Nijimura caught it all the same. "No way."

"Why not? It seems to be what you prefer," Akashi quipped. Nijimura steeled himself in stone-faced despair, caught into a snare of his own making. Akashi's lips were pale pink and soft and tended to part and curl meticulously around words for clear and precise enunciation, "Senpai."

A small smile forms on Redhead's lips. "In that case, I am flattered to have made some kind of impression on you."

"I think you'd have that effect on anyone you come across." It comes out before Nijimura's brain could activate and review, and immediately flushes. "You've got," he makes some helpless gesture, "bright red hair and - shit, I'm just gonna stop talking."

A chuckle. "No, I assure you. Please, continue."

"I wont."

"A shame. You are also exceptionally memorable, though I am certain you know this already."

"Right, yeah. The tatts," Nijimura mutters, rubbing the back of his neck. He tries his best to hide them; the manager's complaints are a ceaseless cover up, you idiot, you're scaring all my customers away and do you ever stop glaring and what are you, a delinquent? Later, when he has cooled and checked to confirm that yes, he is no longer red everywhere, he brings the man's order to him. When expectant eyes follow, he exhales, digs into his pocket and offers the sticky note to the man.

The eye contact they share is too long for him to regain his bearings and he feels the blush crawling back with fervour, but forces himself not to look away. He waits in agony for the man to take his offering, but he does not, and is thus subject to further observation. Two striking red irises pierce into his gaze, dangerous and tender.

"I can't win, can I." He groans.

"I wasn't aware we were playing a game." Redhead finally takes the note and pockets it, radiating a satisfaction similar to that of a cat with a fat load of cream.

"...Yes, you were." Nijimura says dryly.

"It is a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, Nijimura-san." He grins instead, a sharp, elegant thing. "My name is Akashi Seijuro. May I ask if you are free this evening?"

They both froze.

"Do I need to spank you both?" Nijimura snapped. "Is that it? Because it sounds to me like two annoying little brats are begging for it. Or am I mistaken? Won't someone," The glare he leveled bore the legend of diminishing better men in multitudes, "kindly tell me."

There was silence. Peace, even. For a brief moment.

Aomine

- "You sure talk a lot of shit for someone with such pretty lips "

- Always talks dirty to you in this kind of ways

- he's the same to be honest, so you guys are perfectly matched

- Honestly, whenever you're talking/laughing together it's half cuss words

- You definitely influence each other for the worse, as you'd swear even more when you're together

- You have no kinda filter when you're around each other because you feel genuinely comfortable talking authentically

- I could see him being curious and asking questions about how it's a cultural difference and what other cultural differences there are between you guys

- You teach him cuss words in your first language so you can cuss secretly together in public settings. Sometimes uses them on his teammates and thinks their confused reaction is hilarious

Murasakibara

- He's the same, so as long as you don't shout when you cuss, he has absolutely no problem with it

- Won't really tease you about it or comment on it like lost if the others will - just kinda sees it as part of who you are

- Like with Aomine, you two have no filter around each other and cuss even more when together, especially if you're venting or talking shit about someone.

- You tried teaching him cuss words in your first language but he couldn't be fucked to learn them

Kise

- He's a bit surprised at first but he honestly finds it funny after a while

- While I don't think he'd swear that much, he still does on occasion and has no problem with it

- Will definitely tease you about it light heartedly. Makes the same kind of comments Aomine does to flirt jokingly

- Gets very good at guessing your mood based on how much you're cussing/what cuss words you're using

- Cusses slightly more when he's around you

- I could kinda see him making you use a swear jar (idk why 💀)

Kuroko

- Was a kinda surprised when he first heard how much you cussed, but he didn't really have a problem with it, despite not really cussing himself

- Just kinda accepts it as part of your personality, ad he also understands it's parly down to cultural difference

- Although he hid it at first, he sometimes finds it kind if funny, particularly when you catch people completely off guard.

- Like Kise, he'd learn to read your mood based off of how much you're cussing and the words you're saying.

Akashi

- Really wasn't fond of it at first - he likes manners and a certain standard of etiquette though he gets it's partially due to cultural differences

- Always told you to watch your mouth at first, but he gets increasingly used to it over time. Now, he (mostly) lets it slide

- You teased him for being uptight at first, but you quickly understood that you'd bitten off more than you could chew (you'll still occasionally do it)

- Loves to punish you for your bad language if you two are alone. Sometimes, you cuss deliberately around him due to this.

Midorima

- Also prefers refined speech and manners. At first, your cussing greatly bothered him

- Frequently lectured you/told you to watch your mouth initially, and got even more annoyed when you completely ignored him

-After you started dating, he grew to (kind of) tolerate it. After all, he loves you and that includes the parts that aren't perfect

- Understands it's due to cultural differences but it still feels so uncalled for to him

- You tried to cuss slightly less around him, with very limited success, but he still appreciated the effort deep down

- You often tease him for his uptight ways, and when he does slip ip and cuss, you don't let him hear the end if it
