Guidelines, Rules, and other stuff below

Guidelines

Fics need to be 3,000-10,000 words. You can go a little over or a little under, if needbe, but please keep things within that range! Fics should roughly follow/in concept stem from the prompt word, which will be revealed on Jan 16th. Submissions must be made between January 16th to Feb 6th. Once a submission is made, please DO NOT edit your work! Only submit it once you're completely satisfied! I will be reading fics throughout the competition, and after it has concluded. Contest results will be revealed sometime in February. You can submit fics anonymously, but I need to be aware of who you are. You also need to make me directly aware of them by sharing a link.

Please keep in mind when a fic is submitted, a link to the fic will be shared publicly in the dedicated Discord, as well as on this blog.

Rules

Submitted Fics must be posted to AO3.

Submitted Fics must not focus on ships. You can mention them, of course.

No OC-Focused fics. You can mention or allude to OCs, of course, but please keep in mind I probably wont know who they are.

Submitted Fics cannot be Explicit, contain NSFW content, or contain gore. NSFW jokes are A-Okay.

No previously created works may be submitted.

Fics must be tagged with 'KirbyFC Jan 2024'.

General Info on Judging

Please keep in mind the point of this contest (despite it's name) isn't to win! This is an event designed to bring the community together and create new content for others to enjoy. It's also a way to shine a spotlight on good works.

I will not be the only person judging for this competition, but I will be the main judge.

Is the prompt too vague? Here's some general ideas to get your train of thought going. You don't need to follow these, it's just a jumping off point.

Hi you're under the cut now. Honestly for this idea it's just important to think of a characters want. Such as Magolor being tempted by the Master Crown's power or Meta Knight being tempted by a good fight.

Here's a very vague and general list on things you could potentially do:

A character resisting their temptation...

Or giving in.

Two or more characters in conflict because their temptations conflict...

Or because the thing one of them wants is dangerous.
