Why they are against Bottom Up Model?

For a very long time since independence the economy of the country has been operating through Trickle down model. But the long used model has shown no much improvement since its been attacked by cartels or the few who are lonely enjoying funds that would be used for different projects.

These have however made the bottom projects, including the majority of the people starve. They have further made the tax base very narrow leading the country to maintain and depend on foreign debts and donations. As a result, Kenya was categorized among the countries that have unhappy citizens in the world. This comes due to the number of people starving of food increasing in recent years, there have been however increased number of deaths and orphans due to starving.

Lack of more job opportunities have rendered many jobless, graduates becoming depressed as more of them keeps adding up while they get hired to people without education background. These are the people who grew with well-off families and ended up owning firms to hire graduates. These scenarios have in the recent years resulted in affecting political arena having wealthy without education becoming influential because of money. This therefore has become a ‘chronic disease' at the heart of the Kenyan politics.

These few influential politician therefore have found that if this BOTTOM UP get successfully injected into the system of economy they will be the first to lose their hold of the critical system. However, they reacted to it when the same model was already enforced at centre of the majority who fully subscribe to it.

Come to think of it, ROYAL FAMILIES: These are children of the few families at top of the pyramid. These are children who found themselves growing in statehouse, Runda, Milimani, Muthaiga and even abroad. They never knew what it means to have no money in the pocket. They grew to get themselves taking breakfast in London, Lunch in Germany and supper in South Africa then sleep in Nairobi. Its not their fault that they are like that but they should be able to understand basics and logics of economy.

These are the people who raised up associating with ‘major league' and few available individuals. They never know what it to consume locally available goods including processed food, locally made vehicles, local labor if engineers, local health centres among other things we call Buy Kenya Build Kenya. Then they don't find and reason for Bottom Up Economy.

MAINTAINING STATUS QUO: These are the people who few billionaires in the country. They are owning leading Companies, large trucks of land, banks among others. They inherited what was given to them. These are billionaires who are major investors in the country and abroad, they lend their money to the government and therefore want to be the one at the steering of it.

They therefore risk that allowing anything like bottom Up approach will clear their money way down to their own peril. They think that the money they invested in government may get lost and even their facilities lost if they allow any government to come and put their money to the people. They know the only way to maintain their wealth is disputing attempt to bring money down.

Though there are hustlers who never became part of those families, but have worked hard and hustled their way out to be part of the billionaire family. These are billionaires that the Royal family are rebuking saying that they have stolen public money yet they could not afford. They believe that when children inherit stolen is not a crime but when Hustler works to become billionaire is questionable.

Believe of INBORN LEADERSHIP: majority of these opposers of Bottom up economy are those who found themselves in families of politicians. These grew with a notion that leadership is inherited and therefore they are only one who have the influence to decide which model is best suited.

They despise those who are competing with that they are inferior to give them challenge because of the rift of the families in terms of wealth. This trend has made many become sycophants with even others calling themselves ‘cows' just to please their ‘gods'. It becomes a century type of doomed politics to engage in a fight of mere positions just because someone proposed a better way of enhancing economic state of the country.

POLITICISING ECONOMY: Majority do think that those who came up with Bottom up economy approach started empowering kinyozis, Hawkers, salons, mama mbogas, vendors, Sacco's among others just to attract fame of politics. Well, it may be so, but this is an idea that will boost the economy non selelctively. Those who are against or those proposing will all benefit when idea successfully penetrate into the system.

Its obvious that wheelbarrows is still used by more than 7 million Kenyans who depend on their daily hustles to put food on the table. But those who don't think you can miss food rebuked it calling it a tool of 16th century, others calling those who are hustling TAKATAKA. These are the types who will too come to the same Takataka to ask for votes.

Mean BOTTOM UP ECONOMY has sailed whether with their consent or not.

The Kinyozi illustrations are a campaign in reference to some of the statements shared at a Barber shop at the crucial moment of choosing a hair cut. The choice is hard, most times people would think going to the Hair Parlour is hard, choosing from Cornrows, braids or a blow out, all are the same when its time to choose form a Fade, A trim or a Bob Cut. Well most times going to the professional barber is an anticipation because the main aim is to have the head straight, so that the barber gets the line-up right. No one really likes having the idea of a slunted cut, because getting the shave might result to you choosing one option – Kipara (a complete trim). Sometimes scouting looks form the internet, the Ludacris postcards we see at the barber of Lebron, Will Smith and B2k , to people walking down the street is an important part of the selection process but it all comes down to the man with the Shaving Machine.  

Tengeneza Nywele Kinyozi evolved also form a personal experience of me ’cheating’ on my local barber. Sometimes the cheap cut changes how your mood is going to be for the rest of the time you will look at the barber ruin your hair-do for the 15-20 minutes this Quack Barber is affecting your life. Moving from growing Dreads for 2 years to getting back to the ‘cut’ has allowed my head to be tossed to different baber-shops at my home in Ongata Rongai as well as in Kenyatta Market. So in this regard, I end up giving the Quack Barber my intended look through an expression because I knew that to be honest it would be the best way to explain it. When he asked what I wanted for the shave, I responded ‘ Nataka uninyoe ikae kama yako’ – I’d like you to give me the exact shave you have. My reason for this was to have the Barber appreciate the he had a good cut and woud do his best to have me look as sharp as his did. On fact is that I regretted every second of my afro going to the floor but I just had to accept my fate and that the afro would Probably grow back 2-3weeks and all I needed to do is work with what I had.

The doodles are representations of some of the looks I have seen, tried out and are emerging in Kenya’s Pop culture and its diverse lifestyle. In the representation, I have also been able to look into some face shapes to determine the intended look that ‘might’ suite the client at their Local.

Why it's difficult to compete RUTO

Kenyan politics has always been very predictable that whoever is supported will definitely choose his or her way of exercising politics after terms ends.

This way has always put the country under conman ship and brokers practicing the doomed 20th century politics. But thank God that it's gradually growing to maturity, where people learn to have personal decision in the quest to political arrangement

Since independence, there are no vice president who has ever been supported directly to become president when the term of his predecessor come to end. Further to most of them, they haven't been clear on what they want to do to the people. They therefore have never been clear on what their strategies and agendas. However, William Ruto clearly became different from them all, becoming vibrant to President in every aspect in office. For politicians or even the president himself to write him off is very dangerous.

These are some of the top reasons why Dr Ruto is winning:

1. Mountain ‘effect'. Mountain politics have been the center of politics to all parties. There is a high scrambling for the votes in the region. One thing is certain however is Raila is unreliable to the people of the region. Kenyatta has recently been marketing him it should be known that it's the same kenyatta that completely finished him in the region. In 2013, Uhuru and went Ruto rallied Mt Kenya people. It should be known that this region is known for their high entrepreneurial skills, they are business people. Then kenyatta told them how Raila would make them lose their businesses, how he was risky to their resources. This made them careful to him. To even worsen Raila's quest in the region Uhuru told them how he had worked with Ruto closely for long, how he enjoyed working with him as his deputy President and how was planning to make him President after him. All these stuck in the minds and hearts of the people and makes it difficult compete Ruto in the region.

2. Political Maestro.

William Ruto may have been in politics for short period than his opponents but he has been in critical positions in different government for more than 2 decades. Deputy President knows how to handle political matters, his life in politics has been all about honesty, handwork and dedication. He has been Youth Leader of Kanu league, SG of Kanu and ODM, Member of Parliament, minister and Deputy President. All of these have offered him stage to learn how to play fair politics, how to counter opponents and how to get them out of the challenge. After Kenyatta sidelined him, Deputy President has had a stage to speak to every Kenya, interact with mama mbogas, kinyozis among others, all these have made him capture their attention as the incoming President. He however have Hunter's representative in every region countrywide. This helps him to get to interact with people and present their grievances to him through these people.

3. Track record

William Ruto has always believed that hard work does not mean the people hustling alone. He has always put his best to ensure that whatever office he holds have the best record. Going to the next election, William Ruto needs no books to capture what he has done to the people as MP, or minister. As the Minister of Education for instance, he was able to reduce the years of joining University from 2 years to 6 months. This enabled students finishing secondary school to join and finish their courses before proceeding to serve in their respective fields He also came up with the idea of TVETs, another major field that helped provide various skills to students. As the minister of agriculture, he reduced the cost of the fertilizers and seeds in National Cereals Board to enable efficient and effective production by farmers.

4. Hustlers Narrative

Hustler is anyone working hard to to put food on the table or earn a living. Dp Ruto was a chicken seller before joining politics. As a leader who succeeded in hustling, he came up with this narrative to inspire, motivate and encourage people to work hard in their hustling activities. At inception of this narrative many opposed because they thought Ruto was stooping too low. But he gave confidence to the people to engage, accompany, socialize and present their pressing issues directly to the leaders. During this narrative, people have grown business, they have had the courage to hustle, they have grown business well and now they have reduced their dependency ratio. This has enabled the stabilization of the most of the salons, kinyozis, hawkers, saccos, and social groups. This way through this, people have had their way to decision of bringing in a president who understand them well, a person who enable them to grow, someone who will inspire them to do more. Ruto is undisputed next president God willing through this.

5. Bottom Up Economic Model

Bottom up is a case where the economy is build from the masses. Where money is invested in the people. For a long time, trickle down model has failed and therefore new way of upgrading economy is needed. DP Ruto, for long since he was minister.believed that the way to build strong economy is through starting from where the farmers and masses are found.He has since maintained, that the way to go is empower people is starting from the ground. Himself, he has rallied everyone to change conversation to and around mama mboga, kinyozis hawkers, salons among others. Bottom up model, has then made the people get their attention to someone who will consider them in growing business.

6. Staunch Christian.

William is a staunch member of AIC. Before politics, he was evangelist. He found his wife in evangelism. He believes, that when God opens the door, no witchcraft can close it. He believer that Christians have part in changing narrative of politics in a country Therefore Christians will join hands with the rest of hustlers to form government.
