Coal Drops Yard Part of the King's Cross Central development. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick and opened in October 2018. The two Victorian coal drops sheds were originally used to receive coal from South Yorkshire and transferred to narrowboats on the Regents Canal and to horse-drawn carts. The warehouses processed 8m tonnes of coal a year. At the time coal was the only form of energy available to heat and light the buildings of London. : : : #sokarieu #coaldropsyard #kingscross #kingscrossdesigndistrict #kingscrossdevelopment #architecture #architecturephotography #architecturalphotography #thomasheatherwick #thomasheatherwickstudio #thomasheatherwickdesign #samsung #kingscrosscentral #retaildevelopment (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3WbiZ1l-1j/?igshid=1uf4hbd87cq08
