SetChess
youtube
The above video is a video about a check mate in SetChess, to understand this checkmate you have to understand the rules, which are very advanced. The one thing to understand about SetChess is that one rule was changed from ordinary chess. The rules that was changed was that the movement of the pieces is not directed by the different pieces, but by the board instead.
Okay, the rules:
The board is 8x8 like in chess
The starting position of the pieces are the normal starting positions as in chess
The king has the same function as in chess, if that dies the game is over and you lose
Each tile is made up of a card of set
When a piece moves away from a card, the card is replaced by a random other one from a pile of unused cards
The amount of movement is depending how many figures there are on the card:
What kind of movement the piece can do is depending on the shape of the figure on the set card:
There are three kinds of actions a piece can do when standing on a card:
License to kill means that when the piece moves to another card with an opponent piece on it, the opponent piece is removed from the game.
No license to kill means that the piece can move as normally, but if there is another piece where it is trying to move, it cannot
Bounce means that that when the piece moves to another card with another piece on it, that piece is moved in the opposit direction from where the first piece came from, like a bounce
Bounce is chained, meaning that if a piece is bounced into another piece, that piece moves as well
When bouncing the board is borderless, meaning that if a piece is bounced out of the board it appears on the other side of the board
And that is all the rules.
Below is examples of movement:
