I actually like it! I think it suits him, and shows his growth personally. I think a good compromise would have been like, A mix of his old and new style. But I think his new hair fit's him seeing clearer now, no longer as shy as he used to be, and slowly working on his insecurities( him being more open with himself and other's too). Again, maybe a third hairstyle would have really capped his arc off, but I think what he has works. I felt like completely going back to his old hairstyle would mean Kieran is back to his old self....which isn't true. He's still a bit shy, but no where near how he was before he met the player. Again, third hairstyle, but ah well.

Fun fact! The reason his hair is tie up is bc he wanted to see his battles more clearly, and his hair wouldn't be in the way for that. That line actually made me appreciate his hair more! Carmine was actually calling his hair edgy and he told her why he did his hair like that lol. It was a cute interaction between the two!
