God, I wonder what the Tyrells' plans were before the War of Five Kings. Because we know they asked Ned Stark if Margaery looked anything like Lyanna, or enough that Robert would make the connection, so that means they what? They planned on marrying her to the King even though the Queen's still alive, so they'd kill Cersei? Is that it, or did they plan on taking the princes out too?

This scene but Hotch is dating reader 🥺 it's pretty new, but everyone can already see the change in him, and everyone just wants to know the amazing woman that has given them some weekends off 🤭
subtleties
hehe i had to write a lil thing for this, kinda a different take but still very similar! cw; none! just how the team notices aaron is in love <33
there had been a shift.
one day, it was just there. the bullpen seemed a bit brighter, the atmosphere was lacking it's usual apprehensiveness, even the provided coffee seemed more flavorful- not as bland and definitely not as tart.
and no one could figure out why.
dave was the first. and since, well, dave was dave, it didn't take long for him to question the matter at hand. all he had to do was forwardly ask, and the expression he received in return told him everything he needed to know. he also gained the immunity otherwise known as bragging rights- in case anyone asked, he knew all along.
the next telltale, as pointed out by penelope and caused all heads to turn- a newfound, frequent smile. the usual, timid frown was still persistent, it hadn't become a stranger and probably never would, but the ability to pull a smile wasn't as challenging. it made it's presence multiple times a day, comparable to the past where a smile typically appeared a few times within a month.
in accompaniment, a softened gaze. the harsh lines drawn between his eyebrows had seemingly faded. he looked younger. happier.
one could only imagine how surprised the team was receiving the instructions they could leave early if they so desired one friday night, including the "action reports can wait until monday" a double-take was necessary; did they hear correctly? monday? a whole three days away? accordingly, it became the new normal. as long as the group of them weren't called away at the hands of serial killers, weekends lived up to their name and purpose.
dutifully, even more questions arose. rumors were traded. and everyone had a feeling- only one thing could be the origin.
with a schedule dictated by serial killers, abrupt departures were never a surprise, but heavily inconvenient when preoccupied. no matter the hour, one had to drop everything and go.
once all were settled and en route, it consumed the air. an aroma that was sweet and playful- a touch of berries, jasmine, sandalwood. the close quarters of the jet was never shy in terms of enhancing sights, sounds and smells, so it didn't take long for it to be noticeable.
"what is that?" derek said suddenly with a scrunch of his nose.
spencer didn't skip a beat, not even bothering to look up from the novel in his grasp. "what is what?"
"someone doesn't smell like themselves."
"you smell your colleagues?" emily snorted out a laugh.
"no." derek balled up a scrap of paper within reach, chucking it at her. "call me a profiler, but haven't you gotten used to, i don't know... we all have our signature scents, you know? whatever that is, it's new. and strong."
dave presented a knowing smirk of a smile, side eyeing the culprit, who was also doing his hardest to refrain from smiling. but again, in the constricted space of the jet, it was visible to everyone. in addition, it promptly confirmed the rumor that had been circling the past few weeks.
"hotch?" derek pushed, raising his eyebrows in question but with a knowing expression on his face.
"maybe you should save your keen observation skills for when we land, morgan." aaron shrugged as he studied the file in his lap, the smallest of grins pulling at the corner of his mouth. "it could do you some good."

So, I decided to take a few photos of the Danganronpa 4コマ KINGS series and compile a few of the findings I thought were funny.
I don't have everything fully translated yet, so there may be a few issues with my findings. If you find any mistakes or have anything to add, please lmk :) I'll also update this if I find things later.
---IMPORTANT NOTE---
All of these drawings are NOT mine. Everything comes from the 4コマ KINGS series published by Spike Chunsoft. I'm simply photographing them and sharing them with others who may not have seen them before (since the series is out of circulation). If there is any issue with my post, please inform me so that I can take appropriate action.
All photos are below the break here :) (Warning, it's long lol) ((And there are a few minor spoilers))
(EDIT: As a side note, I've posted more pictures in an update. Idrk how this site works, so I'm letting people know here so you can find it if you want.)
Fun things that you can learn from the Danganronpa 4コマ KINGS comics:
Hifumi has written, drawn, or thought of making content relating to Sayaka x Kiyoko, Aoi x Sakura (on two occasions), and Makoto x Byakuya
Toko thinks that… something… happened between Mondo and Kiyotaka in the sauna, wink wink.
Toko wrote some sort of fanfiction in relation to Byakuya, Chihiro and Mondo. Idk what it is, but the title is along the lines of "The Byakuya Family Household Sweep Away a Beautiful Girl". (Pretty sure it's a Mondo x Chihiro fic, but I could be wrong.)
^ pretty sure Syo is a heavy BL fan lol
Aoi's b00bs are so squishy, she can use them to launch herself off things.
Everyone really likes drawing pretty boy Byakuya. Like, he looks fabulous in some of these panels. Here is one of those pictures:
........Okay, fine, this is the right one:
Hifumi has drawn gender swaps of a few of the boys, being Makoto, Byakuya, Leon, Yasuhiro, Kiyotaka, and Mondo.
Leon really wants a harem lol
Kiyoko's secret picture (from the last trial in-game) was of Class 78 hosting a cat maid cafe
Yasuhiro's secret (the motive in Chapter 2) is that he's an idiot.
Mondo, Kiyotaka and Sayaka all get along really well! So do Mondo, Kiyotaka and Chihiro :)
Mondo knows how to sew!
Mondo doesn't wear eyeliner, he just has really long eye lashes.
Mondo's hair is fluffy and bouncy :)
Makoto thinks Mondo's hair looks like a corn chip. Aoi thinks it looks like a chocolate croissant :)
Chihiro once gave Mondo a game about dogs. He loved it lol
Chihiro and Mondo have actually trained together.
^ they actually make a great team :)
(I'm pretty sure that) Kiyotaka was found guilty in a trial relating to black underwear. Unclear if he was executed or not. (This point is subject to change once I fully translate the comic.)
Kiyotaka was brainwashed by the Mono-Rangers (parody on Power Rangers) in a different comic. He became Commander Ishimaru and enforced rules and dress code in a dictator-like fashion. (Full translation is still in the works.) This is what his outfit looked like:
Daiya dies in 4K
Komaru's here :D
Mukuro shows up a lot as herself! She's so cute lol
Kiyoko's kinda socially awkward lol, it's really cute.
Makoto has wanted to see up Kiyoko's skirt on multiple occasions.
Makoto has tried a couple of times to cheer Kiyotaka up. It does not work.
And now, here are some funny out-of-context panels to cap off this post! These were too hilarious not to include, I just couldn't make a bullet point out of them lol.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk :)

Liveblog - Dofus, livre 1 : Julith [PART 23]
I think after this it's kinda natural that Joris will never ever put his trust into anyone that isn't Kerubim or Atcham ever again.
I am once again asking why Kerubim has these books and what was he doing at devil's sacrament.
He's never beating those necromancy allegations.
There's a canonical name for the evil-ass looking huppermages.
youtube
Once again, this is Them in Dofus 2 when they reveal to Joris that they framed Julith or something. (source: my beautiful mind)
The Dessous comic implies that Marline bought this stuff from Kerubim which is so funny. It's beautiful how little of a shit the man gives for the safety of others.
I may not like Khan in his present form, as a macho gobbowler, but I like the idea of him. Joris, and his little "ghnhnn I have to do what's right, I have sacrifice my happinesss for other people" complex needs someone like that in his life who will buy him alcohol and help him run away from home when he's 14-16.
I'm sure if given another movie, or a show, Ankama's plan would have been to make Khan more likeable. He seems like a ride-or-die friend.
A scene ago he was in Julith's arms. So, she found it important to get him into the arms of this dofus-powered doll. Personally, I like to think that he started thrashing and maybe even bit her.
What did she lie about though? Liking him? Not wanting the Dofus? Being a competent person and not a fuck-up? (I love Bakara and say all of this with affection)
Once again, I empathize, that Julith was gloating about this to Bakara. That she doesn't really care about Joris (and by extension, Joris's feelings.)
She is killing a thousand people, who did nothing to her. These are civilians who came to watch a sports match. How many mothers are here with their sons and daughters who just wanted to look at their idols? If Joris never had Grougalorasalar's soul, if he and Kerubim never learned of her plan, THEY would have been among these viewers.
Julith is a very interesting character because she's ruthless, she has no morals, absolutely no understanding or compassion for others, — even Bakara or her own son, — and yet she is driven by love almost entirely. And that's her one redeeming quality.
But also — does it really change things, when you're driven by love to kill a thousand innocent people? To ruin your son's life? Because it doesn't really change much, to me...
I think there's a tragedy in that. She does love the idea of Joris. She loves what she sees of him, his voice, his face, and eyes. If she learned more about him, she'd probably love the parts he didn't show too. She'd love to see how he grew up.
She'd love how committed he is to those he loves. She'd love his ruthless march towards what he thinks is right that will allow him to close his eyes as he does unforgivable things. The only thing she would dislike is his loyalty to Bonta.
But the reverse will never be true. Joris can become a warmonger, a dictator, and a war criminal, but he would loathe to place his needs above those of others. He wouldn't do horrible things if he didn't think it was for the greater good of mankind.
As a 600yo man, Joris has lived through two apocalypses, — and yet people like Nox and Julith will lose 1-4 loved ones and go insane, killing people. I doubt he feels much for her, except for disgust.
Their friendship is so important to me. But also, somewhere out there, Tatak is crying.
I think one of the great tragedies of Joris's character is that he is doomed to break his own moral code, slowly but surely.
One must imagine Joris Jurgen living happily with the blood of innocents on his hands, because the alternative is more haunting.
One of her main issues is that she projects the actions of a few onto literally everyone in Bonta. Which is a very crazy fucking reach.
But I understand how she arrived at this reach to begin with: I don't think she was ever happy, before Jahash, and when she finally was happy, for once in her entire life, they took even that away from her.
You wanna know who else in this scene is going to have only 2 people who give meaning to his life? Jo—— [I am forcefully restrained by the police]
I just really like pointing out the similarities between Joris and Julith, — and the way these similarities underline their differences.
Once again: she doesn't give a shit about anyone's opinion. She is betting everything onto a nebulous future where Joris and Jahash and Bakara forgive and forget everything she did, and they live as a happy Fambly (in Brakmar, because that's a GOOD city and they will LOVE to move there, after being no longer welcome in Bonta due to the 1000 dead people.)
(Guy whose very emotional and Julith and Joris voice) guys I think she's starting to realize that their familial relationship is going to be unfixable.
Joris and everyone present here are quite aware that stopping this will kill one of them.
They are also very aware that one dead person is better than a thousand.

im a bit nervous to say this cause i really dont involve myself in tulpa discourse other than stating im accepting of tulpas, but its my understanding in life that people can't own actions. yes certain cultures and religions may have their specific way of doing something and make it their own, but that doesn't mean they own that action, they own the way they do the action. (im using own kinda liberally im not trying to imply they have some sort of legal ownership lol) but so with tibetan buddhist tulpamancy (i cant for the life of me remember the word they actually use) they dont own the concept of creating another entity in your mind or "self" but they do own the way they do it and their beliefs attached to it. im trying to relate this to something but i cant think of any analogies that would be as specific as this, and i dont want any anti-tulpas to see my general example and think im comparing to very different things.
Yeah, I think tulpacourse can be pretty difficult to wade through sometimes. Personally, I'm not entirely sure I even agree with the concept of owning your own beliefs. Even in a figurative way. Aside from, maybe, actually totally closed cultures.
I see beliefs as things that are meant to be shared, adapted, or sometimes even torn apart and scavenged for scraps. And sometimes, I do think the way these things happen might be offensive to some people who feel connected to them.
I don't really feel like this applies in the case of tulpamancy at all because I think it's so far divorced from Tibetan Buddhism as to not share any beliefs with it whatsoever.
But this was something I thought about a lot during the whole thing about God being plural. Because there, I'm playing directly with people's very sacred and personal beliefs. And I'm doing so in a way that some people are going to find offensive.
And the thing I decided is that... I don't feel like Christians have ownership over their beliefs. Not in a way that they would get to dictate who can use them or how they're used.
Yes, they can complain if they find something offensive or blasphemous. And some will do that very loudly. But I don't think I should feel obligated to avoid offending people either.
Especially when Christianity is itself based on Judaism. In fact, basically every old religion is a permutation of a permutation of a permutation, dating back thousands of years to religions which would look very differently from anything that's practiced today.
And I also think again on certain practices that some might consider offensive, such as the conversation on Godspouses where some people believe they both can communicate and marry certain deities. I don't see that people from those religions have any sort of right to police the beliefs of others. They can be offended by godspouses if they want. But that doesn't mean the godspouses are somehow in the wrong for their beliefs and experiences nor should they feel obligated to change how they worship and connect to their deities to please others.
...
As a side note, there was another fun note to come out of the tulpa AMA that I wanted to share. Michael Lifshitz is working with a scholar of Tibetan Buddhism to write an article on the practice tulpamancy was based on, going over texts that have never been translated to English!
So that's something pretty cool to look forward to! 😁

Hmmmmm, "Finally Got the Name Right" started really strong, but fell apart pointlessly at the end.
The music video of the Enforcer Team was absolutely amazing at the opening, both the music itself and the animation. It also perfectly summed up what was actually going on with "The Grey", when it hadn't really been made clear last episode.
The Enforcer team was noticeably panicky and untrained in their actions, which lead back to my criticisms of the end of the first episode of the season, but then Vi pointed that out to Caitlyn and they sent them home. It makes including them at all kinda pointless, since they're introduced at the end of episode 1, skipped over in episode 2, and then dismissed in the opening to episode 3, but at least they didn't keep them around and talk about how they're an Elite Force while they're shivering and whimpering on-screen. So I was willing to call this a win and move on.
I honestly did not think we'd actually get a kiss between Vi and Caitlyn this early, I thought they'd continue to slowplay it for the whole rest of the season. But I'm ecstatic to get it now, so we can build from here for the rest of the show. I'm not sure if I think this was their first kiss or not: There was hesitancy there on both parts, and several small movements forward with pauses to reassess, but there was also no apparent surprise afterwards. Either way, the way Vi dropped her gauntlets really emphasized how big this is for her.
The Vi/Jinx and Caitlyn/Sevika fight was fascinating. Beautiful animation (as always) and complicated by the wonkiness of the magic. The complementary surrealism of Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger in the base of the hex-whatever just emphasized how everything was spinning out of control.
Jinx essentially being ready to die is tragic, but also reaches back to what I've said before about the show really emphasizing that she is a sick young woman. She is evil, and she does need to be stopped, but that doesn't change the fact that she's so hurt that she's hoping her sister is going to kill her.
But it started to all fall apart when Caitlyn turned on Vi when Vi tried to prevent her from taking the shot when that kid was in the way. I just don't believe this conflict, and it doesn't make sense. This is what they're fighting over? I would have accepted Vi realizing that she can't let Jinx die yet and stopping Caitlyn for that reason, and Caitlyn being furious at that betrayal after the death of her mother. I would have accepted Vi getting so overwhelmed that she was ready to kill this innocent kid and Cait trying to stop her, since we saw last season that Vi can get over-focused and ignore collateral damage when the she's striking back at the people that harmed her. But for it to play out this way and for Caitlyn to fall onto the (obviously racially-coded) 'you're one of them' remarks was just out of place and awkward after Vi stepped in to protect somebody else. I can't accept that this is what is leading to the breakdown of their relationship.
Then that big sequence where Ambessa is manipulating all of the Piltover nobles also doesn't make sense. I don't buy that Caitlyn can't see this. Her entire character in the first season was that she saw things. She pieced together the clues and figured out the truth on her own. And I don't mean that she should instantly deduce all of Ambessa's plans, because there's a whole lot of details that she has never seen, but it should be obvious to her that she's being manipulated. And even if you say "Sure she can tell, but she doesn't care because she's so grief stricken that she doesn't care" it's still not well-portrayed.
And during this moment where Caitlyn is getting the cheers from the crowd of people as she is essentially appointed dictator of the city, there's all these reaction shots of the three Enforcers to show how they're taking it. One is happy, and the other is kinda neutral, and there's one long, slow shot as one of them turns away in apparent shame....except we literally still do not know this guy's name. No background info, no history, nothing. Is he from the Undercity like Vi and joined in the hopes that by being a Good One he could protect the rest, and he now realizes that he was mistaken as he sees these people planning all-out war against the Undercity? Is he from Noxus and he fled to Piltover to escape their militant violence, only to see history repeating right here? WHY SHOULD WE CARE THAT HE ISN'T HAPPY HERE?
The episode was great until 30 minutes in, the just fell apart.

I guess you can also argue cryo and all the shenanigans being pulled as like. Alls fair in love and war- but we’re going to need to meet the Tsaritsa to really see how they characterize that beyond Dains description of her having no love left for her people. Can’t wait to see how the next two nations develop- and it’s a fun thought exercise to see how they can shape into different things. Like you said- Anemo can be interesting under “love” considering Venti is both kinda doing the “if you love something, let it go” thing with letting his nation choose how they want to go, versus him clinging to the memory of the nameless bard to the point of wearing his face, even this far into the future. A god who loved a human so much he couldn’t bear to let them go, who’s statues are made in their image now (and the achievement when you sit down in the hands? Beloved of the Anemo Archon, when the statue is at the scale of the nameless bard and whisp Venti? That’s a fun thing to turn over)
Sorry for rambling again. What do you think are some of the more fun interpretations/swaps that you could do? -☁️
you're so right on the venti thing. and yeah, we don't know what the tsaritsa is, we're just going off of the only hint available hahah
i honestly think the easiest swap would be wisdom for zhongli and contracts for furina. zhongli is already possibly the wisest/most knowledgeable character in the game (nahida is a different issue), and you wouldn't really need to change anything about him or the plot of liyue to make that work. it could literally go from the contract to end all contracts to if i want my people to grow wiser and grow stonger then the smartest move is to simply step down and let them be. you'd have to think of a better excuse as to how he settled a deal with the tsaritsa and why he cannot tell you about the cataclysm later, but you could work something out. maybe factor in forbidden knowledge much earlier into the game. this would also have the added bonus of linking him to guizhong in that she could very easily be made to align with wisdom, and so zhongli ending up as the archon came down to guizhong dying before he did, like a rukkhadevata/deshret situation, and how the raiden twins were both about eternity.
contracts for furina would be interesting because you could make the plot of fontaine about punishment for breaking a contract, since that's also what sinning could be (egeria's sin). and furina being unable to tell anyone what was going on could've been made even worse if she had to sign a contract with focalors to literally not say a word about it. after that, you could make the traveler finding out the truth a loophole to the contract, since strictly speaking furina never did tell anyone, and neuvillette found out from focalors anyway. like the plot of fontaine is already about consequences of one's actions, the overarching one being about the consequences of egeria's orignal sin; you could easily just make it about the consequences of breaking a contract with the divine instead of just offending them (not that that's less strong a plot point, but if it's about breaking a contract, it might give more nuance to celestia as oposed to just 'oh they got offended')
now that i think about it, you could also do something interesting with freedom for nahida. make it freedom to pursue knowledge in whichever way you may want to. freedom to enrich your mind and be wiser however you see fit, be it through arts, through study, through dreams. i mean she's already locked up (denied freedom to be out and about on her own), the akademiya was controlling the akasha (denying freedom of knowledge) and banning the arts (denying freedom of expression). sumeru's history is also about freedom, somewhat, what with deshret wanting to get over fate so his people would be free to dictate their destinies, but his solution being a literal hivemind (complete lack of individuality and freedom). even post-deshret with the jinn and their enslavement and all the mess liloupar kicked up. like sumeru is already more about freedom (and the lack of it) than mondstadt is LMAO
#you're right we'll just have to wait for natlan and snezhnaya (and khaenri'ah)#this is so fun#thank you!!#ily <3 <3

The 8 Show - 7/10
Let's get it out of the way. The Squid Game comparisons are inevitable and they're not entirely wrong. And like, The 8 Show REALLY does not help itself avoid the comparison by having the characters refer to each other by the floors they are living on vs their names. It really is inviting the audience to remember how they did that on Squid Game. HOWEVER, they aren't exactly the same. This show is way more interested in exploring the psychological horrors that come from how humans treat each other vs reveling in the gore and constant threat of death from Squid Game. But like... yeah there are similar vibes. And to be clear! It's not an issue of plagiarism. This show is based on a webtoon that was published before Squid Game. It's just like... the comparisons are hard to avoid.
The 8 Show starts very similarly to Squid Game. A man deep in debt and at the end of his rope gets recruited to a game show with the potential to earn more money than he'd ever imagined. There are 8 contestants who randomly select a room and that random choice basically dictates their entire experience in the game. The higher floors get bigger rooms and earn more money per minute than the lower floors. Yeah, it's kinda heavy handed. lol.
In Squid Game the drama and excitement mainly comes from the insane games that the game makers come up with. The 8 Show derives its drama from the way that the game and its rules force the contestants to navigate this new society with all its inequalities and how they negotiate with each other. The way that the contestants make alliances and break alliances and how that ties into the social status of each contestant within the games is where the drama comes from. It's a psychological drama more than the action drama of Squid Game. And it is eye catching in its cinematography and has some really solid performances anchoring the show.
HOWEVER, I do think what keeps the show from being truly great is that it's just a little too on the nose and hammers you over the head with its themes. Time literally equals money! A random act (like what family you're born into) will dictate your status within a society. People in isolation and in tough conditions can quickly devolve into Lord of the Flies. It's a little bit... too obvious at times. It also feels like we don't REALLY get to know many of the contestants. There are 8 of them but we only really get small glimpses into who these people were before the game. That makes it harder for us to really see how much the game has changed these people vs this is who they were the entire time.

MoTP talk:
SPOILER ALERT AGAIN
I love to talk about my interests as you can see
What I really love the most about MoTP, it really felt like we were going around the city. The lack of intense apocalypse themed (love ya pacific bay but i feel like the tone of the last arcs where kinda off and too wild lmao) and just grounding themselves with the concept a specialized squad flying around the city.
Everything are so tied in together. The previous games deaths kinda felt like me going "Ahh this guy is the killer def, ahh, this person is gonna get killed soon aren't they" which doesn't really feel all intense lmao. But with how MoTP loved calling back as much characters as they can, we get to know them more and see how their lives and actions change as the tone of the story changes. (CRIES IN GLADYS, ADELLIA, AND GIULETTA)
Also because of it, we kinda see more characters more fleshed out than the usual we get from CC games?
ALSO THIS GAME GENUINELY HAD ME CLENCHING ON WHO ARE GONNA DIE OR WHO IS THE KILLER. ESPECIALLY THE KILLERS. THE DETAILS ARE SO SUBTLE IN IT THAT I ACTUALLY HAVE TO DEDUCT POSSIBLE MOTIVES. IT WAS VERY ENGAGING.
The main themes of the story were pretty down to earth: corruption, power play, justice.
It was so down to earth that it was really easy to empathize with a lot of the killers, especially the vigilante ones.
Also kudos to Archie and Horatio. You were truly shitty people but very intelligent and manipulative ones. Being able to craft plans for their goals while leaving themselves out from suspicions unless we do intense digging was very smart. Heck, Horatio literally crafted a plan so fucking careful we took like 80% of the game to catch him. He's shitty but he's SMART. And he was able to get away from it for DECADES.
Like Horatio is honestly insane man caused so much indirect deaths??? Like dude??
Also, I remember Justin Lawson before saying that he believed that the Rochesters should all be in jail. While, the way he went about it was very, not very good. In a way, the Rochesters who were engaging and not doing anything to stop Horatio while knowing his actions were also somewhat complicit of his crimes. So in a way, I understand Lawson's argument about that. And they knew the consequences of it if they babbled their mouths, we saw that with Leopold (sigh).
(Also Lawson, a lawyer, becoming a dictator removing freedom of press and the likes. I was a bit like, was one of the writers from PH or something, why is this hitting a bit too home.)

different anon, but i think the lack of chemistry is why i couldn’t really sink my teeth into lovely runner tbh. it’s weird, because i did end up finishing the drama and i thought it had many moments that reminded me of older kdramas so i couldn’t figure out why i found it so forgettable but it really did just boil down to the fact that they didn’t have much chemistry.
this is totally random, but why do you think it’s become so rare for the leads in romance kdramas specifically to have chemistry? i think the last time i truly felt a lead couple in a major production had chemistry were kim taeri and nam joohyuk from 2521… which was over 2.5 years ago. i remember pre-pandemic you would see more leads with chemistry than those without. like going this whole year without a single kdrama couple i liked was so strange, especially when it was more common for me to have like 3-4 once upon a time.
Yeah, I definitely abandoned it fairly soon after I was sure they didn't have the chemistry and she was frustrating me more than I was enjoying it. Kdrama tropes are so heavily dependent on chemistry that if it's not there, I just don't care, and I don't believe whatever story you're telling me.
I agree with you. Their chemistry in 25/21 was crazy and they pissed it away with that infuriating ending. Now, I've thought about this a lot, but pre-pandemic, kdramas were very much made for Koreans. The stories were very Korean, and the depiction of life was very Korean. Then Parasite exploded onto the scene RIGHT before the end of 2019, and kdramas and Korean directiors/actors were on the front pages of North American newspapers, there was a deal for an American version of Parasite, and it was inescapable. Then the stay at home order was laid down in March 2020 and Netflix released Squid Game not too long after that. So people who would normally bitched and moaned about not liking subtitles, had nothing else to do but watch them, and kdramas that have always been there exploded in NA. Squid Game (an absolutely awful drama tbh, I hope we can all be honest about that now) blew kdramas up and suddenly they were flooded with American money for advertising (I've been given to understand that that's also why we never see characters in the subway anymore, and always in these massive cars, and also why we don't see that level of 'poverty' anymore. Like how does a character who can only afford a 4 story walk up to the roof apartment afford a big ass honda?). Then the guy who was in My Secretary or whatever that drama was, got a deal for a minor role in a Marvel movie. The guy who starred in Squid Game was cast in that Star Wars show. So with American money, they started dictating the rules, and so, as with all things, the influx of money changed priorities. So instead of stories for Koreans, by Koreans, all the stories felt like they were hyper-aware of international viewership. They started shoe-horning more English into signage/dialogue, clothing. Fewer stories about average Koreans and a lot more about comfortable to wealthy Koreans. Less romance, more action dramas, political dramas. So it felt like who they secured to fill these roles had more to do with who was super popular and/or who could bring in more international audiences and had a chance of crossing over, and less about, do these two people have the chemistry we need to make this drama work? That's just kinda what I think anyway. There may be more to it that I'm unaware of but yeah.
My hope is, that the international money will slow down as interest has dwindled, and Korean dramas will return to being for and about actual Korean people, and then we'll see a resurgence of those classing heartbreaking dramas again.

Hello! Do your think you could do a body tut? I have trouble with proportions and stuff and you're real good at them
ofc and thank u 🫶🫶 this is definitely smth I feel I still struggle with but here’s some things I do to help and how I generally sketch- using a drawing of dally to demo (everything under the cut bc it’s gonna be long lol)
First always use a reference (not those drawing templates I swear they will mess u up more- use photos) I stunted my art growth for so long bc I just refused to use one- it also curbs the need to do (what I think are) boring (yet helpful) anatomy studies- plus it’s a good comparison for proportions when seeing ur art vs the pose in the photo
Second thing I find really helpful is larger pencil strokes, which is not to say never use smaller movements, but most of the time my pose will come out cleaner and less stiff when I avoid small movements as it means there’s no confusion where a part starts or ends- essentially trust in large pencils strokes and large shapes 🫡
I will say when I was first tryna figure out proportions I was using shapes (mainly rectangles tbh) to dictate how large the forearm for example for be compared to the legs or head I chicken scratched sm, but after a good bit of practice it will be ingrained in ur mind when smth looks wrong and what that part it is
Now for how I go abt drawing
this is generally how I start- and it’s so simple but using lines of action for every ‘motion’ whether it be the torso turning one way or a person leaning is so helps- it tends to lessen stiffness in my drawing
I go off of the head and motion by using shapes/lines to get the base of the torso and limbs- just keeping in mind the reference and stuff like that the legs should be abt half of ur body- then I truly flesh out the torso and legs using the lines for their placement- and often times I’ll use a ‘u’ shape to dictate joint placement (shoulders r off the torso, elbow and knee in the middle of its respective limb)
As for the shape of the legs and arms the only advice I can give is draw a lot and vaguely understand human anatomy and one day it’ll magically make sense (ik this isn’t helpful but if it ain’t the truth)
then ARMS !!! I find it’s easier to wait on doing arms so I make sure they don’t reach too far down the leg or in general too big compared to the legs (ignore dally’s right arm it’s covered by pb later- you’ll see)
Then this is the biggest jump- I almost completely erase my drawing using a kneaded eraser- when I’m unhappy when a pose or how something is looking I sometimes repeat drawing the pose itself multiple times- changing limb sizes and shapes etc. until I’m happy with it and add clothing
Never be afraid to restart and plus I find my second or third attempt always looks cleaner and better proportioned- then in the final pic u can see the difference between how I start vs end with pb sitting to the side
ik this was kinda a yap sesh and idk how helpful it will be but I hope it has helped some and if u have any questions my inbox is always open lmao

@eldritchsquared This has made me very happy bc I love my Disaster Man and I gotta make more stuff with him
(Context for everyone else, I put these tags on a thing about OCs:)
This explanation is gonna be kinda long so I'm gonna put it into a ReadMore
So! This is one of my oldest OCs, Dorian Pierce!
I recently redrew him bc I'm hoping to make a short VN game for Halloween about him and another one of my OCs named Sana!
So explaining his story is hella complicated and idk if it makes sense but I'm gonna try! He lives in a town called Lacrymosa, and his initial plot is that he gets these blackout fugue states where he goes out and kills people, then shows back up at his house like "ah hell not again". He ends up in a relationship with my OC Sana, bc when he runs into her the fugue states stop, and only start up again when she's not around for too long. Sana is a sweetheart 100% and doesn't learn about the Murder Tendencies until they've been together for a hella long time, and the initial story I wrote for them revolved around when Dorian gets arrested for the murders, escapes, and while Sana is helping him hide they get into a shootout with police; he dies, she flips out and starts shooting at the people that shot him, and also dies.
That was the initial plan. Then I started fleshing it out more, and his backstory started to incorporate one of my other oldest OCs, Mystere:
This is Mystere! She's a God that's basically responsible for creating 95% of my OCs, as well as the afterlife that became my story focus as I developed more stuff, a place I called Libra; the current overall format of the stories that I'm working on involves a different character named Rayne who is a conduit for other spirit's memories, where she can relive them and repair spiritual damage (also she's Dorian's granddaughter, I'll get to that).
Dorian was originally a sort of guard of Libra, keeping unwanted powers from entering. Think the angels outside of the Garden of Eden, flaming sword and all. He ended up trying to usurp Mystere, and She handily kicked his ass; the scars he's got everywhere are from this Godly Ass-Kicking.
As a punishment for his actions, She made him into a human, and in the process his spirit got kinda scratched up and corrupted, which is what caused the fugue states. Sana has an innate ability to semi-repair damage to spirits, so being around her calms Dorian's fugue states; she doesn't know about this, she's just sweet and likes helping people.
So after their deaths, both Dorian and Sana end up back in Libra as their afterlife. Through rules about spiritual connections based on affection and relationships, they end up creating the spirit of their son, Dante. Dante eventually decides he wants to see what stuff is like outside of Libra, and manages to convince Mystere to make him human (since the process is willing this time, it's not as damaging as it was to Dorian).
Unfortunately, he's kind of an asshole. Dante ends up being a dictator of a place I called Imperi, and does a lot of pretty awful shit, including waging massive wars and experimenting with human augmentations (I have a handful of characters that are the results of these experiments, they're kinda lizard/human hybrids)
Eventually, Dorian and Sana are sent back to the human world for the purpose of trying to stop their dick of a son from destroying everything. They arrive in the middle of a revolution, as Dante is trying to escape Imperi. Sana tries to talk to him about what he's been doing, he says some insulting things to her, and Dorian gets pissed. You know how I mentioned that he used to have a flaming sword? He got it back when they went to stop Dante, and uses the spirit-specific nature of the sword to basically slice Dante's spirit in half.
This leads to Dante becoming Cursed, and I still have to flesh out the details of what that means beyond a change in appearance, but he ends up hiding out in another country I made called Gelia. He mainly wanted to hide out in Gelia bc that's where his ex-wife, Aura, went when the revolution hit Imperi; Aura wants nothing to do with him, but he wanted to stay close to keep an eye on their daughter, Rayne.
Eventually Rayne becomes friends with Dante (she doesn't know it's him, she knows him by the name Damien and she's only seen old photos of Dante). They end up going to help some of Rayne's friends that got stuck on an island where a lot of the lizard hybrids caused by Dante's experimentation ended up, and eventually one of the hybrids recognizes Dante and tries to attack him; Rayne tries to protect him and ends up dying instead, ending up in Libra and meeting her grandparents and a bunch of other related characters.
I have a massive family tree of related characters that end up in Libra, and eventually I'm going to write a good draft of the story I'm planning out of Rayne being a Conduit and experiencing all of their memories and stuff. I think I have some hella old drafts floating around on different fiction sites, but their pretty far from canon now
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to gush about my babies! I hope this made any sort of sense, in my head all this kinda looks like a corkboard full of drawings and red strings
#my ocs#the libra/conduit series of stuff is my most complicated group of ocs#i also have a group of characters that lives in arkham massachusetts that is my other oldest ocs

Hey uh, /gen question how do I very nicely and in the least condescending way possible tell somebody who is the human embodiment of poking a beehive to not say shit like "I relate to dream's worst qualities".
Like they say "Worst qualities dictated by y'all" but THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT BETTER. Like ik what they mean by it, they're trying to say they're not perfect but saying they relate to a REALLY shitty person at best's worst qualities is.... Yikes. To say the least
You don't gotta answer this, you're just the only person that I know is Well Versed™ enough in Real People Socialization™ to be able to handle this well
Thanks! ♥️
You flatter me in thinking I'm well versed in real people socialization haha~
This is very much a difficult conversation so if you're gonna do it better do in DMs. I'm trying my best to be gentle about this but to still pass the point.
Talk with them about the Dream situation. Even if you do kinda know what the person is going for ask them gently about it. Something like, “I saw your post that said you relate to Dream's worst qualities. What do you mean? Do you mean you relate to being bad at dealing with pressure? Sorry if it's a weird question is that I'm a bit confused by it.”
Do not accuse them of grooming and don't bring it up straight away. Let them speak. If they don't mention the grooming allegations, or if they say something in the lines of “If I was accused of something so serious I might panick and say something stupid too." tell them “I get where you're coming from but if someone reads your post they might interpret it as you relating to grooming someone. You might want to change that phrasing. Besides even though I get that we all make mistakes Dream has a lot os young people following him. He's a role model to them. And even if he does mistakes he needs to own up to them. He needs to recognise them to improve and unfortunately he hasn't done that. That gives the wrong impression to the people following him. He can keep making mistakes, mistakes that affect seriously real people (victims of grooming, if not the ones doing the alligations the others on the internet that after seeing the reaction of Dream's fanbase will be scared to speak out) or the POC people who are disregarded as just taking things to seriously when it's just a joke or at worse telling them being bigoted is something funny. I know you might understand it isn't but you have to realise there are young teens in Dream's audience who still don't have great interpretation skills. (recent Trump flag drama). I get he is human yes but there's a point where we must realise that someone is doing more harm than good and probably shouldn't be influencing so many people. He hasn't even spoken with his co-workers he is supposed to speak to to do his job, even after those co-workers showing displeasure for the lack of answers for moths now he keeps not saying anything. They are dependent on him to do their job and it's frankly a disrespect he hasn't done so. That doesn't sound like someone who should be handling something so big. We need to at very least show him we don't like what he's doing. If he only sees people agreeing with him and sees no consequences he'll see no reason to change himself and there might be a time he does a mistake even more serious than the ones he did already. But please don't take this as me hating on you it's just that the point we're at empathising with him (online) is probably not a good idea.”
They might try to argue with you and you're probably have to be prepared for that yourself. Try to reassure to them that you understand them but point out why it's still wong or harmful to let Dream keep a platform and why empathising with him will only give power to the people who are against victims and POC people who've shown concern for Dreams's actions.
Helpful posts:
@/anonymous-dentist's post on the flag incident
@/areus-in-a-little-cave thread on stuff about the grooming alligations (I recommend you ignore the Keemstar and Kaceytron stuff because Keemstar is not a credible source and he just said Dream told him things and we don't have any proof of that. Kaceytron not only has a very bad reputation with her way of creating drama and concerning behaviour but also what she said has not real importance to the whole situation.)

There's something to he said about this kind of thing. Like, it really depends on your perception of the character, the characters perception of themselves, the other characters perception of them, and the perception of other people irl.
Like for one example, Steven Universe.
His mother was actually not a good person overall? Sure she saved earth and all that after she had this idea about life, but look at what she did to spinel. Look at how she even handled everything else. She kinda just ran away, popped out of existence to ignore all her problems to some degree. And yet there are real life people who think she's this cool warrior. But then there's the characters who obviously adored her, even after the fact they learned who she really was, or even Pearl who knew all along.
Then if you take the Diamonds as another example. The characters, especially when they were still dictators, had people who adored them while also those who despised them. Then suddenly they became "good".
Goodness, badness. People think amazing things about people even when they do horrific things. It's not even that an author is saying by having them seen as awesome people that they even believe they are in the first place. The thing most people don't get about writing a novel, imo, is that a lot of people will use real life situations or complexities to craft an interesting story.
Sure, change is awesome, but can the actions be forgiven? It's like when Megatron became an autobot because he realized all the shit he done wrong and liked it. Like? Wtf? But at the same time, the characters obviously didn't like this. But there were others who hailed him still as this amazing person.
This is true for real life as well. Amazingness depends on everyone's perception and your perception even of the other surrounding characters or society. Some stories even have characters who are thought to be amazing but to do what they did was absolutely nasty and horrific.
My point is that stories aren't just stories. They are created by a person it's true, and maybe some thought went into the creation of the plot and characters. All stories however, often reflect real life in some vague way. If you exclude all that fantasy stuff and cool things, what you have is a baseline. Horrific tragedies are committed all the time. Not saying it's right or good, but it allows for growth in ways honestly we should think more about that maybe isn't so great.
Yet, in stories we have things similar. People being killed or maimed or even going to war. It's always about some struggle. But who is right or wrong? Who can truly say? What is morality? What is the wrongness of why seeing or perceiving someone as amazing bad when they do bad things? I mean, it's the real question. The real conundrum. At least imo it is.
So what does it all mean? It means that things are complex. Things aren't as simple as good or bad or amazing or horrific. It means that there are problems. Maybe even the author themselves. It means that people have a message of a sort they want to convey. Yet..those people, may not even be wholly "good" as they come off to be. I mean just look at JKR for a really good example.
I think it's easy to look at something and go yeah this is bad because of x and like not get it. And I think if anyone actually understood that shit idk we'd all grow a little bit, but it's also part of the human condition. Which isn't to say I think it's good. But it is to say that I think stories like the ones described have something to say, whether that is good or bad is up for debate. Like what does it say not just about the author in the bigger picture, but what does it say or represent for them?
I guess I'm going off trail at this point but, I do think these sorts of things are very complex. There's a lot of intricacies involved in the creation of something, especially a fantasy novel. Sometimes it may not even mean anything, and maybe they just think it's interesting.
But then..my perception of all things is that perhaps I am not seeing the bigger whole. Perhaps my own perception is flawed, perhaps I can never understand until I encounter a person or thing that helps me to. So idk at this point if you've read this far at all, the biggest part of what I'm saying is there are a lot of unknowns, and there are a lot of reasons. But ultimately it can't really be controlled. They are what they are, even if the people or characters they created are shit. We can only look at it puzzling wtf it all really means.
I guess that's just my two cents as a creator myself. I can't say I sway against or for the previous statements, all I can say is that I think things are complex.
Here's the thing I keep trying to articulate and possibly failing: I don't actually mind characters who are terrible people. I have enjoyed many. What I mind is characters who are terrible people while the narrative keeps trying to say that they are wonderful, often contradicting what the narrative shows us, with no self awareness

“That’s fucked up,” Tommy concluded.
“Well- it- it could have been worse, really-”
“Dude, no, that isn’t an excuse, that’s just- they’re just assholes,” Tubbo said.
“I’ll fight them,” Tommy repeated.
“I’ll join you,” Tubbo said. “Wait- no, I can be the witness. They’re the ones who attacked you first, you see, you were just defending yourself.”
“I know I can always count on you, Tubso,” Tommy grinned.
“Don’t actually, please, I don’t want you guys getting in trouble-”
“No no, it’ll be fine, Boober, see? I have a witness,” Tommy said sagely.
“Oh- Oh my prime, you guys are- so screwed,” Ranboo groaned. “Why am I friends with you two.”
“Because you wuv us~,” Tubbo said in a teasing voice, his grin audible through the speaker.
A beat, before Ranboo let out a sigh. “Yeah,” he agreed, “yeah, I do.”
— Runaway Road-trip, Chapter 1
i mean. i plan on this being a chaptered fic, but who knows if i ever actually make it that for, i still need to iron out the rest of the fic,,,,
🍓 — Favorite poetic quote from a wip
[Tommy] can’t help but wonder what exactly his.. job, will entail. Both this current one, and his employment here in general.
It’s not his first time with hits, of course, but- this is the first time he’s.. changed management, so to speak.
How different will this be from his mentorship under Dream?
The man(he’d forgotten his name out of spite), he said that he would be getting.. paid..? Which is a concept he’s foreign to, safe to say.
And Dream had never employed other assassins — it was only ever him and Tommy, the king and his prince. No need for knights, when the royals could defend themselves just fine.
But beyond that- what else? What other changes will there be?
How many of his actions will be dictated by him, as if he were nothing but a puppet on strings?
How will he tolerate his.. his mistakes, his failures?
(How much of him will he take, how much will be left at the end?)
(..How much does he have to take to begin with?)
— Tommy's Murder Makeover, next installment in the Mixed Nuts Series
the fic name is...... a work in progress,,, kdjdkddkdjd. i also haven't really worked on this since january,,, dkdmdldjodjs.
for the record- the "man" mentioned is quackity,, and he's not an asshole, unlike dream,,, sksnsksjissj. tommy doesn't know that yet tho. in his defense, q DID kinda sorta blackmail him in the last chapter i posted for this au(back in november jesus christ),, so like. it's not entirely paranoia at fault,, sksmsksk.

I think Charmix became one of my favorite transformations when I wasn't looking
Wtf
It's less about what Charmix actually is and more about the missed potential that it has
Getting a transformation though self work and commitment to making yourself better has so many good vibes to it!
I'm kinda mad that the girls will admit (1) about themselves without any actual work. Bloom gets hers though one action, Stella gets hers though an action that's something she would of done in s1, Musa's is utter bullshit (Musa is so weirdly possessive of Riven even before their dating and I wish that character trait was talked about more, but really what the fuck kind of jealousy and possessiveness issues are you struggling with for that to get you your Charmix) then you have Aisha, Tecna, and Flora who are...better? Aisha overcomes her fear of the dark, Tecna stops repressing her emotions, and Flora gets over her shyness for a boy... Ugh
The only one I really respect is Aisha's, because she changed for herself! And that so much more admiral
I think Charmix should only be gained after you do a while bunch of self work and actually commit to it instead of making a split second decision that you can go back on
This is fine for Enchantix because you can't take back a sacrifice but it really undercuts Charmix
And it would set up an interesting dichotomy with Enchantix
You can't sacrifice yourself for Enchantix, that's not how it works, and you won't get Enchantix. You have to do it explicitly thinking there will be consequences
But you can start working on yourself just for Charmix. As long as you genuinely work on overcoming something thats been a detriment on you
But you can make a split second decision for Enchantix. That's how most people get their Enchantix
But Charmix? You need to have a strong change in mentality or to actually work though something you've been avoiding to gain your Charmix. While their are some circumstances that completely change someone's mentality or make them push past a fear and it stays gone, that's normally not how people work
Idk I just would of loved to see all the girls genuinely sit down and find a flaw with themselves they want to correct, a fear they want to over come, or any other personal difficulty and just be forced to actually work at it
Bloom gets a free pass by having a trauma induced change in mindset away from her need to constantly run away in season 1, and then gets to suffer the very fun consequences of having trauma to force you to get past something or else
I just love it when characters introspect work on themselves!! And I hate everything going on with Charmix in canon when the idea is so interesting alone!!
I do like Tecna's season 2 arc but I wish it was more centered around her being kinda mean and dismissive to everyone instead of just Timmy because then it would of made it obvious that this is a problem with the way she approaches all relationships and not just boy troubles. Also what ever the FUCK they did to Timmy's non character in the arc that isn't how he acted before and isn't how he acted after was hot garbage and the main reason I hate Timmy because his personality is entirely dictated on what Tecna's character needs and AHHHHHHHHHH
Um, that's me rambling about how wasted Charmix is and how I don't like how most of the girls got their Charmix because it feels shallow and like their greatest problems are boy troubles
