❛ ☾ ◟━ LOCATION: city hall staff meeting - parks and rec & sanitation departments
❛ ☾ ◟━ TIME: morning
❛ ☾ ◟━ STATUS: closed for @feyzaxergin
Ever since she had her own workplace accommodation, Kimberly hadn't been too involved in meetings as she preferred to work directly with Irza and smaller groups. It's been some time since she had joined mixed department wide meetings as they were bigger and there were more involvement there. As a compromise, she took on a smaller role bringing in the pastries, coffee and tea for the parks and recreation, as well as sanitation department. Today's agenda was more so the up keep and clean up of the local parks given that there were going to be different autumnal events taking place. She had been instructed to head home after, but the workaholic in her couldn't bring herself to do it since she wanted to make sure there were no takeaways for the mayor and their team. So, the compromise was to stick around in the beginning and leave halfway once she got the gist of the meeting.
On top of that, there was some work gossip that she'd been missing out on and well, she was getting a bit of FOMO there. Ignoring some of the stares she was getting since a few were probably wondering why she was working and not on leave, she took a seat next to Feyza and mumbled, "Some people need to work on being discrete." As she met her gaze, she handed her a cup of one of the hot beverages and said, "Apparently Jack, the Sanitation Lead, has some 90 day fiancée thing going on...But I'm a little confused cause I always thought he had thing for Sheryl, who's one of the Park Rangers. Do you know if it's true?"

“Hella.” agreed Kimmie as she dusted off her dress pants and crossed her legs. “If they don’t end up getting married or becoming end game, then he should take a leave of absence at that point.” She then shook her head in disbelief and said, “Oh babe, she’s down bad. I’m jealous, you’re getting pure content and front row seats to her new boo. Meanwhile I get grandma Bernadette over here asking me how to save a PDF…” Observing Feyza from where she sat, Kimberly couldn’t help but smile as she found it absolutely adorable that her best friend’s crush seemed to have the same interest in her. “And would that cute shop be called Enchanted Gowns?” she mused with a cheeky smile. “Alara is my best friend.” Kimmie admitted at first before happily clapping as she couldn’t contain her excitement. “She is super sweet and I am so so so happy for the both of you cuties!!!” Hearing a shush nearby, the heiress looked over and wore an apologetic smile before awkwardly waving and confirming she’ll tone it down as the meeting went on. “Anyways…" She then leaned in and softly said, "I can see how much you're glowing and content and so I'm supporting and rooting for the both of you all the way! I truly believe you two will end off on a high note. Have fun with it, you’re both amazing women inside and out! Falling in love is a beautiful thing, especially when you find your person."
"For real though, who knew Jack had such a smart mom? Total game changer." Her eyes lit up as she sipped her drink. "The 5 AM FaceTime thing is wild. Like, that's some next-level dedication." Feyza snorted at the mention of Sheryl's flirting attempts. "I swear, every time he says anything, she does this whole giggle-and-flip combo. Classic crushing behavior." Her face grew warm at Kimberly's question about her love life. Alara floated through her mind - with her infectious smile and the way she always gave personalized style tips. "Well, there's this girl who owns this cute shop in town…" she said. "She's super sweet and we're dating. You don't understand, I haven't been this happy before. I think she could be the one." She had played it safe for so long, dated casually, kept her walls up … but with Alara, those walls crumbled like sandcastles at high tide. Maybe this was what real love felt like - scary and wonderful all at once.

“Oh damn, talk about lucky boy syndrome and utilizing your resources…The fact that he got his mother on board?” Kimberly held a hand up for a pause and announced, “If he wanted to, he would.” Her eyes widened slightly at the news that their coworker was willing to do it all for his long distance relationship, “Oh if she doesn’t bag him, then love doesn’t exist.” joked the heiress with a blissful sigh. Sipping her drink, she averted her gaze to the meeting to take in a few words before looking back at Feyza as she spoke on about Sheryl, “Oh that makes total sense now because the other day I did see them chatting it up and got confused when she couldn’t keep her hands off of him every time he made her laugh. The playful slaps were becoming in sync…” Shaking her head away at the second hand embarrassment, her lips curled into a grin as she said, “Speaking of love or like, or basically relationships in general…Has anyone in particular caught your eye?” This was her time to shine in order to help out her best friend, but obviously Kimmie had to play it cool and ensure that she wouldn't mess this up for her.
Feyza took another sip of her drink, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "Jack's got the paperwork all sorted - his mom is like this genius visa expert who's handling everything. Plus, this girl? Total soulmate material. They FaceTime literally every morning at 5 AM because of the time difference. It's disgustingly cute," Feyza chortled, adjusting her position in her chair. Jack's evolution from the commitment-phobe to a love-struck puppy occupied her thoughts. "And girl, about Sheryl? You'd be surprised. Remember that charity basketball game last month? She practically drooled watching Mr. Firefighter doing those free throws. Like, full-on jaw-dropping moment. But honestly? They'd be super cute together." She leaned closer, lowering her voice. "I saw them getting coffee at that new place on 5th Street yesterday. She was doing that thing where she plays with her hair and laughs at everything he says. Total first-date vibes."

Although Kimberly loved what she did for a living, it didn’t mean that she wasn’t going to have her fair share of fun. A little gossip is what helped get them through the day, let alone make the work day interesting. “Shut up.” she replied in a mix of a shocked and intrigued tone. “I would never, we're tea sisters remember? No, but girl, that’s a small world indeed! I felt like I missed a whole ass season when I was on leave.” Taking a sip of her drink, she nodded in understanding and whispered back to Feyza, “Can Jack really do long distance though? Like the paperwork and all that might take a while and like…It’s Jack…” She slightly cringed before her eyes widened at the news of Sheryl, “Wow!? Really? I wouldn't have thought she'd be a firefighter type, I thought she'd get with whoever was in her department...That's so interesting..."
Feyza rolled her dark eyes at Kim’s comment about discretion, accepting the hot beverage with a grateful nod. As if she would tell a soul. She was a vault. She tucked a strand of her long brown hair behind her ear, taking a sip before responding to the gossip. “The tea is scalding and I’m not talking about this drink. Jack’s definitely not with Sheryl. That whole 90-day thing? Totally legit. He met someone during his vacation in Cappadocia last summer. My Turkish cousin actually knows her family - small world, right? But don’t quote me on this.” She observed her coworkers entering the meeting room, adjusting her blazer and considering the upcoming fall events she had to sort out. “TBH, Sheryl’s been hardcore crushing on that new firefighter from Midtown station,” she whispered, keeping her voice low.
