mafia!nct: how you meet.
▹ a/n: hello loves, wow two uploads in a day? are you proud of me ? 🤭 it’s been so long since I wrote in the mafia universe! I hope you enjoy this, have a great day or night gorgeous 😘💕
▹ pairing: mafia!nct x reader
▹ triggers: mafia!au, crime, manipulation, violence, light smut
Taeil first meets you at your job. Taeil owns a plethora of companies, both small and large, and all used as a cover to launder and legitimize his behind the scenes criminal activity. You just happened to be a regular girl working at one of these companies, only working in an entry level position at a front desk you would’ve had very low chances of running into someone like Taeil at work. That was true for the most part, it had been at a company wide holiday party nearly two years working at said company before your paths finally crossed. You were tipsy and flirtier than usual that night, completely ignorant to the fact that you’d been chatting up your boss for the better part of an hour. Taeil was intrigued by your forwardness and wanted to keep seeing you. It was fun and exciting for you too, Taeil seemed like such a puzzle to you, he gave you very few details about his life and even fewer about his career. It’d be months after your secret rendezvous begins before Taeil reveals to you he owns the company you work for, and it’d take years for him to ever share that he runs a criminal organization under the table, if he ever actually did, because if he can get away with not telling you he won’t.
“Why do you always ask so many questions baby? Why don’t we just enjoy our time together and we can talk about my job another day…”
Johnny meets you at a nightclub. Because of the dangers involved in his line of work he’s become a shut in more or less, only going out when it’s absolutely necessary. He’d take drinking at home with friends over a noisy club but his associates and him had been having a string of successful pushes in the expansion of their clan. There was much to be celebrated. You were there with a group of friends also that night, out to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Johnny took notice of you right away. Shameless in his ogling of you, his eyes were fixed on you alone in the sea of bodies on the dance floor. He approached you with a pep in his step to offer you a drink which you accept, afterwards you offer him a dance which he accepts. On the dance floor your hands eagerly grip and squeeze at each other’s bodies. You two spend the night together that first night, a fairly brief and passionate situationship ensues after night one. For months your relationship with Johnny feels purely sexual, there’s not much about him or his life that you really know and he never seems eager to share. Johnny drags his feet on cuffing you officially for fear of involving an innocent person in his life.
“Don’t be ridiculous, I’ve always had serious feelings for you. The only thing stopping me was wanting to keep you safe.”
Taeyong meets you after one of his associates dragged you into his warehouse. Apparently, you had been the witness to his crew “taking out the trash” as some would say…Instantly upon seeing you Taeyong realized you really were just an innocent girl who had been in the wrong place at the right time and not a secret spy from a rival. He pitied you. You had seen his face and plenty of the others faces’, releasing you could be risky but keeping you here was tiresome and more of a chore. Taeyong decided he would give himself a few days to decide what he wanted to do with you, he let you go home, under heavy surveillance of course. He needed to know if you were going to try and run to the police and snitch on anything you’d seen so far. Taeyong starts visiting your home in the evenings, he told himself it was a strategic intimidation tactic to keep you from calling the cops. Truthfully, Taeyong just wanted to be near you. He’d become really drawn to you, his visits getting longer and longer as he gets to know you better. It’s a nice slow burn before your relationship turns romantic. Taeyong is actually grateful he had met you in the manner he did, it was refreshing to start a relationship and wonder whether he should tell them about his career. You knew from the start, and that made courting you a guilt free indulgence for him.
“You know more about me than most people do. I like that and I want it to stay that way, I promise there’s nothing I’ll ever keep from you.”
Yuta meets you during the middle of a heist of all places. In his crew he was the go to man for high intensity missions like bank heists, and assassinations occasionally. You were on your way home from work when you made a stop to deposit your paycheck into your account. Your corporate slave job had yet to transition to the twenty first century and go digital with their payroll system. You were stuck with paper checks for now. Your interaction with the bank teller across from you was almost done when you jumped due to the fire alarm suddenly going off. The alarms went off followed by the sprinklers on the ceiling, creating a heavy downpour, drenching you and everything else. Yuta and his gang strolled in confident as ever, heavy machine guns in tow. They were the picture of frightening nightmares. Yuta made it known he was clearly in charge, barking orders at his crew, all of them moving in harmony. They cleared the bank’s reserves in minutes, sweeping the vaults like they knew the floor plan by heart. Yuta floated over to you as his crew began piling the bags of cash into their van. Yuta caught you hiding under a table near the back. He thought you were absolutely adorable the way you looked at him in fear. He pulled you from under the table to get a better look at you, he gave you a quick two second once over before nodding with a content hum and tossing you over his shoulder. You squealed and squirmed to get down but he only held you tighter spewing out nonsense like he had decided to keep you for a little bit.
“Stop squirming so much bunny…I’m not that scary am I?”
Doyoung meets you through a match maker interestingly enough. Doyoung was born into an infamous crime family, arranged marriages between associates was a common practice for families like Doyoung’s. As Doyoung begins to take the reigns from his father he knows a marriage is on the horizon he’d need to find a match from another strong clan to join forces with. You happened to be the daughter of not a fellow mob boss, but a wealthy man who earned his wealth legitimately.. As an only child your parents were eager for you to settle down and give them some heirs so you went to a matchmaker for help. By fate you and Doyoung had been paired together, he was introduced to you as your average successful businessman. The attraction was there immediately and a relationship between you two quickly blossomed. It was easy, you both had similar ambitions and goals. You fit together perfectly from the start. Doyoung isn’t sure he’ll ever reveal to you his real job, why should he when things are already great between you two?
“I never thought I’d meet someone this way, but I’m glad I did. I’m glad I met you, my other half.”
Jungwoo meets you through a mutual acquaintance. He was in the market to buy a second property, it would be a safe house for himself and other people close to him. He had a friend who recommended Jungwoo contact you. He was a busy man who needed a realtor to find the perfect location for him, that’s where you come in. You’d sold a number of properties to Jungwoo’s friend already who made sure to give him a stellar review of your work. Jungwoo was running out of time and his friend had convinced him well enough so he called you. Upon the first meeting in person Jungwoo was struck by your beauty. He forced himself to remain professional not wanting to be distracted. You’d begun working for Jungwoo for months at this point, sending him several properties you’d found throughout the week. It didn’t matter what you sent him, he always seemed so unimpressed and displeased with what you’d shown him. You were growing annoyed and worried that you’d never find a property he would close on. Truthfully, Jungwoo loved nearly every listing you showed him, he loved spending time with you even more. He wasn’t ready to close on something quite yet, he wasn’t ready to stop spending time with you, he liked talking to you. Jungwoo’s crush on you grows more every day, eventually he has no choice but ti confess his feelings after you nearly threatened to quit if he refused to finally close on a property.
“I just needed any excuse to be close to you, that’s where I’d always rather be.”
Mark meets you at the hospital. You were working an overnight shift. You were in your third year of residency, working under the guidance of your seniors. That night was like any other night until the doors of the receiving dock flew open and paramedics quickly wheeled a wounded man on a stretcher inside. You were among the staff called to attend to him. You learned from the paramedics that he had been in some kind of shootout. You helped assist the surgeons during surgery as they removed any bullet fragments still remaining. The man remained in the hospital until he was well enough. During this time you cared for him everyday, cleaning and dressing his wounds, checking his vitals, etc. Mark recovers quickly, he’s upset with himself for caving and going to a real hospital, it was a risky move but his clan’s only private doctor was preoccupied and the severity of his injuries definitely called for medical attention. The only good thing that came out of risking getting his identity exposed was the cute nurse who was in charge of caring for him. He was attracted to you and it wouldn’t be long before he asked to take you on a date. You say yes to his offer and the rest is history. Mark won’t outright admit to what he does over time you come to find out on your own.
“You don’t need to know everything about me just yet, I don’t want to scare you off so soon…”

Haechan meets you at a restaurant. He’s having a celebratory dinner with his clan, at the restaurant you waitress for. As luck should have it you were the one picked to serve the loud rowdy bunch of drunk men. Surprisingly the bulk of them left you to do your job without any pushback from them. All except one. The one who sat himself at the head of the table, Haechan. He couldn’t keep his eyes and hands off of you all night. Every time you walked by he’d wink at you from afar and when you were close enough he’d try to pull you into his lap. You were used to serving drunks of all kinds and had your fair share of customers trying their best to flirt with you, Haechan was the most aggressive customer you’d ever had. Haechan was diligent and persistent, he didn’t press further that night and made sure you were tipped well. You thought you had seen the last of Haechan but you were so wrong. Haechan came in almost every day after he first saw you, always requesting you as his waitress. You were uninterested and ignored his advances every time but Haechan could appreciate a challenge.
“That’s fine, ignore me now…I’ll come in every day until you respond beautiful.”

You have never cried too hard. The last time you cried that much was when your father left you. But now, you’re crying so much in front of your best friend's bloody, dead body. She looked as pretty as ever, only paler.
The police ruled it out as sexual assault gone wrong. That someone entered her hotel room, sexually assaulted her then murdered her. It was a reason that you knew her parents and friends would believe, that anyone would believe.
But it wasn’t the reason you knew.
Kim Doyoung, the policeman who handed you the letter, knew it as well.
Someone purposely killed her. And that someone is after you as well.
Her funeral was full of white flowers, her parents weeping on the side about how they lost their lovely daughter. Her friends, even guys who had short flings with her, came to grief. Aeri was there, trying to hide her tears. Yuta was next to you, caressing your back as you kept crying for the friend-like sister you lost.
Instead of just grieving like the others, you felt guilty. This was all because of you.
Sophie died because of you.
You didn’t tell anyone of the letter, it was like a secret with Kim Doyoung. Even Yuta doesn’t know. And you don’t want to let him know.
“Shouldn’t you distance yourself from your boyfriend now that you know that your life is in trouble?” The policeman asked, “And Miss Y/N, I know you know who did this.”
You sighed hard. “I don’t have proof. I can’t just accuse her without any concrete evidence, can I?”
“Then you’ll just wait until that person comes to hurt you?”
Maybe you’ll just do that.
You don’t have any strength to do anything at all. Even staying at the apartment you once shared with Sophie feels so heavy. Yuta suggested the penthouse which sounds safer than the other options you have. Unlike when you started dating him, Yuta was always by your side. He would leave in the morning to work on some things but would always come back in the evening before you went to sleep, hugging you in his arms while you cry.
You were cooking some breakfast when you felt someone hug you from behind, hands wrapped around your waist as his breathing can be felt against your neck. “Why are you dressed up? Are you going somewhere?” Yuta asked and you nodded.
“Doyoung has some leads in Sophie’s case,” You answered in a monotone, putting some pepper in the soup you made. “He wanted me to check it.”
He wrapped you tightly in a hug, nuzzling his head on your shoulder. “You’re meeting that policeman more often lately.” If possible, you can hear the pout in his voice. “You’re making me jealous.”
You giggled at that. How adorable. You turned to see his face. “Why would you even get jealous over that?” You asked while holding both his cheeks. “It’s nothing Yuta. We’re just working together to find out who did this to Sophie.”
“I can help you if you would just let me.” A smile escaped your lips, shaking your head. You don’t want him getting involved. You don’t want him to have the same hunches as you. You don’t want Yuta to know that you’re in danger and this was all your fault. He wrapped his arms around you, hugging you tight. “I’m relieved,” You were curious about that statement. “This is the first time in a week that I saw you smile.”
You gave him a small smile. “I’m sorry if I worry you.”
But Yuta shook his head, smiling widely at you. “After you meet with Policeman Kim, let’s go have lunch together. I’ll reserve a fancy restaurant for just the two of us.”
You nodded. Actually looking forward to that moment.
Doyoung did supply very useful information. Because of the semen found on Sophie's underwear, they found out who sexually assaulted her. A bellboy from the hotel. He did claim that they only had sex and he left after. The other staff of the hotel claimed that someone came into her room and left soon after. There isn't CCTV or a legit witness to convict someone of the crime.
He kept on pressing you for what you know but you are not someone to talk to unless there are facts. You read the letter repeatedly, the blood almost drying but you knew the word by heart.
'You're next, Y/N.'
The person who killed your bestfriend is a person who wants you dead. And there is only one person who wants that. You don't want to accuse her but she's the only plausible suspect there is. Isn't it already enough that she drugged Yuta?
Is this still because you were with Yuta? That she is starting to hurt the people you care for. That she is out there to kill you?
Then Sophie might be right. This relationship with Yuta wouldn’t work. You’re only hurting the people you care about. It only resulted in a life lost because of the two of you. And who knows what other things Kyoko can do?
Maybe it’s time to end it once and for all.
You were feeling excited about the promised dinner the whole day but as time passed by, you were slowly dreading it. Your heart felt heavy inside your chest. You were scared of how to tell Yuta what you think. You were scared of how he would react.
Love should make you happy, not worried like this.
You desperately waited for his message or call, even wishing that it wouldn’t come. That even for just a day, you will save yourself from this heartache bound to happen.
The phone Yuta gave you vibrated, a message you sighed hard to open. It only said a specific address, no restaurant name or time. Just an address. Is this some kind of surprise? Why is he suddenly doing this?
Breaking up will be harder now.
The cab took you to an eerie abandoned warehouse. He even checked if the address you stated is correct or if he should call the police for you but you shook your head. Yuta’s car was outside. Maybe it’s a facade and the surprise is inside. Every step inside feels heavy. How can you say goodbye when he did all these things for you?
But when you opened the large doors, there was only darkness that scared you. The door closed automatically behind you as the light flickered revealing a silhouette of someone in the middle of the room. Wrists were tied with a rope, hanging from a high ceiling. Immediately, you ran to carry her body and tried to remove the bound on her wrist with one hand. “Y/N,” she called, face looking so pale, and you hushed Momo up. What is she doing here? “Uncle…” Uncle? Mark? He’s also here?
You frantically looked around the empty room just as you heard a small wheezing sound. Smoke filled the room. But a specific smell made you black out. Oleander.
The first time you encountered the flower was at a convention. Sophie told you about it and how the looks of the flower can deceive you. They bloom in white, pink, yellow, or red charming flowers but when ingested, they can be poisonous. Even the smoke burned from its wood is toxic. The same scent lingers in your nose.
You feel like flying but something is dragging you down. Specifically, your feet and hands. When you opened your eyes, you weren’t surprised to see the person you have been despising for days. The first impression of her classy looks didn’t leave her face even if she is now smirking in front of you. A crazy woman.
You squirmed to get out of the ropes on your wrists and ankle but she only laughed maniacally. “Where is Momo? And Mark?” She took a knife from her pocket, the same pocket knife you threw at her before. “Why are you hurting them?”
The sharp edge of the knife came in contact with your cheek which created a stinging pain. She dragged it south, creating a cut from your cheek to your jaw. “What does Yuta see in you?” You hissed at the pain, and blood started dripping to your clothes. “You’re average. Why would he choose someone like you?”
“Because unlike you, I chose him first.”
Clearly, she didn’t like the answer and pushed the knife on the side of your neck. “You, of all people, don't have the right to be with Yuta.” Does she really hate you this much? But she's the one who left Yuta first? Why is she acting like a crazy girlfriend? “Y/N Y/L/N,” she started, “Your father used to work with Mr. Long, isn’t he? A driver?” How did she know that?
A wide smile appeared on her face, “Mr. Long, a well-known mafia boss from Shanghai.” No, he’s not. You know the man. He owns a small construction business. “A mafia boss well known as the Nakamoto group’s rival.” No, he can't be. Your father isn’t related to the mafia. “Do you even know why your mother died, Y/N?” Why does she know these things? What does she know that you don’t?
“Yuta’s dad is brutal, isn’t he?” You shook your head. You don’t know him. You don’t want to hear anymore. “He killed your mom. And Mr. Nakamoto was the reason why your dad was shot.” That cannot be true. The knife lunged at your neck, creating a cut. But it isn’t as painful as you thought. You’re ready to accept death like this. “The reason why your life is hell is because of Yuta.”
No. It’s not.
A gunshot is heard before Kyoko’s mouth spilled bright red blood. A smile appeared on her lips as she fell to the ground. Just like in your nightmares. Yuta was by the doorway, breathing hard with a gun at hand. He killed Kyoko. He defied the first rule of the Nakamoto group.
He ran to your side, removing the ropes on your wrists and ankles before removing his shirt and placing it on your bleeding neck. “I already told Jaehyun to come here…”
“Why?” Yuta looked confused. “Why did you kill her? You disobeyed the first rule…”
The mafia boss looked pissed at the question. “Do you think I would care about that stupid rule?” He shouted. “She killed Sophie. She took Momo.” How did Yuta know about that? “The last straw is her hurting you.”
“Momo,” you whispered, suddenly reminded of the little girl you saw earlier. “She said Mark is here.”
He looked startled and confused, “But Mark was the one who brought me here.”
A figure can be seen by the door.
A young man was carrying the young girl in his arms, a gun pointing at her head. “And Mark is the one who planned all of these.” You're used to seeing him in his boyish state, timid. But this is a different Mark. The same Mark who didn't show mercy in killing the person who abused you in Kyoko’s boutique. “Mark who will slowly kill the people you care about, hyung.”
“Don’t hurt Momo.” The older guy pleaded. “She’s your niece.”
“The reason why my sister is dead,” Mark stated. “The only person I have left in my family after what your father did.” Mark then stared at you, “After what both your fathers did.” All the facts you have been hearing today hurt your head and it’s pounding.
You know Yuta is talking to Mark, maybe persuading him not to do something drastic. Momo is crying, and fright can be seen on her face.
When Mark pushed the small mechanism of the revolver he was holding and pushed the firearm on the younger girl’s temple, you knew you had to do something.
You acted on impulse and discreetly took Yuta’s gun from the floor.
You’ve never held a gun before, only that time in the amusement park and you can feel warmth holding your arm and a voice whispering, “Fire, Y/N. Kill him.”
One shot.
Second shot.
Third shot.
Before you felt the firearm yanked from our hand. You didn’t realize the tears were falling in your eyes if not for Yuta hushing you up while wrapping you in his arms.

NCT MARVEL AU
okay so like a couple months ago I posted that I really wanted to write an NCT MARVEL AU FF... I might have deleted it I honestly cant remember I also added other SM ARTIST as side/extra/antagonist characters in the plot and right now im currently debating if i wanna find more Marvel characters that I think fit Shohei, Eunseok, and Seunghan.. idk lmk. im still working on the first few chapters and the moodboards of all the characters but it's going to take a while and i've been working very slowly since i am currently in school and have a part time job because in this economy... oof a girl's really struggling. anyways here is a small draft (with no mood board sorry im still woking on it :( ) of which MARVEL Characters the NCT members are going to be portraying
Playlist: Villian by Key ft. JENO | Hero by Martin Garrix and JVKE | Wish you were here by SUPERM | more to be added!
Lee Taeyong as Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)
okay so i actually considered Iron Man, Falcon, Captain America, and gamora in mind for Taeyong but Iron Man matched johnny a bit more because of his personality and jaehyun suited captain america more imo
taeyong still fits a character with a strong leadership role, cus i mean cmon NCT tired dad/leader-nim
Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel is just tryna fit in and find herself/remember who she is and she finds out that she's a super powerfull highkey baddie and HELLO? Taeyong is that
she has a strong and emotional sense of leadership, willingness to help and protect others and like come on is that not tayeong???
she's (one of) the first avengers and asdfghjkl;
so yeah
carol danvers is a baddie
taeyong is a baddie
pErIoDt
Moon Taeil as Moon Knight (Marc Spector)
okay so like
this kinda just clicked? lmaoo i feel bad- well more like a geek but like MOON Taeil and MOONknight
i finished watching the MoonKnight series on Disney+ a while ago and loikeeee
Marc Spector is a hot SOB
steven grant asdfghjkl; dont get me started
oki tho im like lowkey debating if I want to include Marc's multiple personality but like he's not Moonknight with out steven soooo
might add a little twist to it
but Taeil gives me more Steven Grant vibes than Marc Spector ngl
he's a lil nervous anxious dork yknow?
did consider falcon and war machine for taeil though..
like tony and rhode's relatinship screams johnny and taeil LMFAOO
idk might make some changes...
Seo Youngho/Johnny Suh as Iron Man (Tony Stark)
cocky lil shit and a sexy ass mf
like tell me it doesn't make sense?
homie just wants to spend money and build suits
smart, hot, and rich? yes please
his wit and smart mouth
like imagine johnny "Jae (Cap) you've got a potty mouth"
tony has a heart(?)- there's proof LMFAOO
his sense of humor just screams johnny
had star lord (peter quill) in mind for him too
Nakamoto Yuta as Winter Soldier (James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes)
one intimidating bitch
but a highkey softie
gonna kick ur ass if u fuck with him or anyone he cares about
highkey mysterious
did consider hawkeye, war machine, and falcon for him tho
also considering changes in characters lmk what yall think too!
Qian Kun as Dr. Strange (Stephen Strange)
man can fly a plane
lmaoo sorry that literally has nothing to do with him being a doctor but tell me why in every goddamn MAFIA AU i read, he's the medic
his relationship with yangyang and ten remind me of dr. strange and wong lmfaoooo
lowkey a perfectionist/perfect man asdfghjkl
Kim Dongyoung/Doyoung as Dare Devil (Matt Murdock)
had hawkeye, war machine, and falcon in mind for him
war machine cause of his sense of duty and seriousness- and his relationship with johnny also reminds me of tony and rhodes
also thought about making him nebula (and falcon) cus of his relationship with taeyong
anyways matt murdock is a hot mf
a lawyer? yes please
doyoung likes to argue cus cmon 127 is always on his ass for no reason headahhh lmfaooo
ngl thought there were a lot a members and i did put some thought into this and he matched daredevil best imo
Li Yongqin/Ten as Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff)
bad bitch right here
assassin, bad bitch
have you seen the way he moves?
have you seen the way she moves?
no words, no explanation, it just is and it just makes sense
like fr let's argue
IM JP don't come at me
had hawkeye in mind for him too
Jung Yoonoh/Jaehyun as Captain America (Steve Rogers)
america's ass
like cmon manz representative emoji is a peach
can't really put my finger on it either
like maybe it the masculinity (not meant negatively tho!) and altruism in the both of them(?)
both hot as fuck for no reason
other characters that i think suited him were falcon, winter soldier, (kind of) hawkeye, and black panther
Dong Sicheng/Winwin as Hawkeye (Clint Barton)
oki so i did have black widow in mind for him
and if im being honest it was kind of hard to settle with hawkeye for him
winwin is someone is focused and serious much like clint barton
i mean cmon man was a dancer and that shit takes dedication and patience
like learning how to use a bow and arrow
also had vision in mind for him too
when i first started to get into NCT winwin kind of came off as a timid person, and he's not really affectionate so it kind of screamed vision vibes
Kim Jungwoo as Quick Silver (Pietro Maximoff)
his cute lil personality
"bet you didn't see that coming?" ackkkk
is a caring sweetheart
like pietro wants nothing but for his sister to be happy and protected
jungwoo makes his members happy
Wong Yukhei/Lucas as Thor
okay so like NCT 2018 Halloween special kind of took over
personality wise, lucas and thor are kind similar(?)
like their sense of humor
thor is lowkey the most laid back avenger despite being a prince
and most of the time i can't take lucas seriously
also another character i was kinda of iffy unsure about
idk maybe its just me but lucas seems like the type that would shy away from responsibilities and his asgard duties as king for something more chill
then again thor did do that soooo...
Lee Minhyung/Mark Lee as Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
do i even need to explain?
lmaoo oki so like i was reading a post about how some people don't like mark
which i lowkey found hard to believe but then it made sense
like no disrespect
anyways I do believe mark is a hard working person and he does try to be humble about it but like also its okay to bathe in the glory and be shameless- then again easier said than done, again no disrespect- i love mork
pure hearted and true to himself
much like peter parker
Xiao Dejun/Xiaojun as Shang Chi (Shaun)
lmaoo man is 1/3 of wayv's walking meme group
every time im on tiktok lmfaoooo
lmao i guess the way i picked theses characters to match the members is based on the relationship the members have soo
lmaoo shaun's relationship with katie reminds me of luxiaodery (is that the correct name for them?... wayv 99 liners)
again hot asf
like imagine xiaojun in the bus fighting scene
Wong Kunhang/Hendery as Ant Man (Scott Lang)
also 1/3 of wayv's walking meme group
man is fxcking hilarious
another "do i even need to explain?"
just makes sense
lmaooo well actually i did consider Star Lord for him
Huang Renjun as Yelena Belova
okay so hear me out
i though of gamora or nebula for him too
lmao he's a tiny lil agressive man
ready to bite at any moment
very deadly
snarky (<< affectionate) and witty like Yelena
"i don't get my period dip shit. i don't have a uterus" *said with a russian (chinese) accent and the fact the renjun doesn't have a uterus*
like that line screams renjun lmfao
Lee Jeno as Black Panther (T'Challa)
RIP to Chadwick Boseman
anyways
when mark graduated from dream *sad noises*
jeno gave me hard leadership vibes
like he filled the role so well without actually filling it
and i've noticed how popular he's become lately with all these stage collabs with other idols
prince king jeno
nice ring to it ;)
sense of what is feels right and does what he believes is right
wants to do well for himself and his members
did consider him for hawkeye and falcon
Lee Donhyuck/Haechan as Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff)
sassy lil birchhh
haechan is a very caring person and althoug sometimes it seems like he's acting a certain way to hide his feelings i do believe he is very emotionally inteliegent- however he is kind of impulsive (emotionally)
reminds me of wanda
powerful bitch, like hello vocals?
fight with so much effort and purpose
needs support and is his members number one supporter
Na Jaemin as Falcon (Sam Wilson)
oki so like
this was also a toughy
consider hawkeye, black panther, winter soldier, dare devil, war machine, and a bunch of other... also docor strange cus mans wanted to be a surgeon if he wasn't an idol lmaooo
but tbh no characters really ever stuck with me for jaemin
he's lowkey someone is doesn't gaf and doesn't want to be here but still knows how to have a good time or make up for time
serious and yet isn't
loyal and supportive to his members
Liu YangYang as Kate Bishop
lmaoo renyang and kate and yelena vibes
like "bro what if i killed you, (renjun/yelena)?"
but like he didn't soo???
lmaooo curious and nosy
liek sticks his nose into everyone's business
whether its for funsies or a mission
but he does well in getting whatever information he needs
gave me loki vibes tho
Osaki Shotaro as Vision
he's so cute ackkk
kind of came off as an awkward lil bean to be but i think that was just because of the language barrier with the other members
but it also a reason why i thought he was a good fit to portray vision
cus they're bother still learning
not afraid to ask questions
supportive and kind of goes along with things
a bit naive and questions his morals or rights and wrongs
fast learner imo
Jung Sungchan as War Machine (James Rhodes)
okai so like
idky but i though he would have been a good match for star lord
kind still iffy ish because is he young and although this is a ff i fell like he would have matched a younger role/character
also thought he would have been a good fit for shuri
can't really say much
i feel bad cus this is a bit more of a last pick
i really did want him to have a character that was more interactive with shotaro since that are really close
also thought of a cloak and dagger duo for sungtaro
again might make dome changes so lmk yall's opinion
like im tryna take this seriously and make it make sense but also im not cus again this is for funsies
Zhong Chenle as Loki
again, im sorry but another "do i even need to explain?"
boy is hella mischievous with that lil smirk he always has
when he messes around with his members, esp jisung
lmao poor jisung
like "oh yall need an illusionist you say? no problem lessgo fuck around with some bad guys"
i know he's supposed to be a lowkey two-faced, flippity floppity bad guy but idc im making him good
cus deep down loki does have a good heart
Park Jisung as Shuri
hear me out
i know he doesn't seem like the brightest but like he really is
and i know yall agree because hacker!jisung?
yeah, that's what i thought bro
considered vison for him too
and kate bishop
and groot- well like a modified hybrid version of him
big brother jeno and little brother jisung duo
yeah
just yeah
periodt
Shohei, Eunseok, and Seunghan
okay so like
im not really sure what marvel characters suit them best
im tryna stray from X-men charcters
but idk might have to make some changes
js that haechan might justbe switched to deadpool cus cmon
and as i was writing this i had a bunch of second thoughts about with members were portraying which characters
im a bit of a perfectionist as you can see
Anyways! thanks for reading this and please feedback is and will always be appreciated! again i apologized for my pace! i am currently on winter break but im working so i haven't had much time to write anything :(.
anyways comment and reblog if you wanna see what i have in mind for other SM Artist and who they'll be portraying!

(A/N: So, like I said in one of my last post, I’m trying to start a series so that I will have a reason to post more often and not let this blog die the way I did before. Only problem? This was the first thing that came to mind and I’ve been terrified it won’t do well so please leave feedback if you like it so I know to continue it. This is also my first NCT 127 post so... Yay! Also, I recently read about how taboo a lot of people think the mafia/crime AUs are in fanfiction and I want to be cautious of their feelings in regards to this which is why I also haven’t posted it but I just want to post something while getting out of my writers block. But, again, leave feedback on whether you love it or hate it, leave request if you want, anything’s appreciated.)
Masterlist|Guidelines
You’ve seen elegance but never at this level, eyes glued to the ceiling that seemed to reach heights you could only dream of, not even thirty basketball players stacked onto one another’s shoulders able to graze the top. The sparkling from the crystal gold leaf chandeliers adding to the fairytale-like atmosphere as servers of all kind bustled around you offering food and drinks at any given chance, your hand reluctantly staying at your side as you declined their generosity. You were starving, but you had a job to do and, that job, was Song Minhyun.
He was the newly appointed Don of the Amarillo family, his father passing away from an unknown condition only a week ago but, based on how fast Minhyun made the world aware that he was now in control of all the illicit acts committed in the name of Amarillo after years of having their identity protected and undisclosed, even going as far as to threaten and betray the various families beneath him in an insane power trip, it was clear his father’s death was no accident. But you were never a fan of that man, he was creepy with a bad attitude to match, so this task wasn’t some gesture of vengeance for him, it was strictly about you and your family.
Just like the Amarillo’s, your family went under an alternative name, Nio’s, which closely resembled the name of the pharmaceutical manufacturing company masking it, Neo Tech. It always made you laugh considering no one caught on to their association, given Nio’s were the largest distributors and exporters of controlled substances in majority of the Eastern hemisphere. But joining Nio’s wasn’t a life you wanted to live, you were practically forced into it, but once you’ve engrained yourself into a life of organized crime, it was impossible to leave. You lived every day with the mindset of kill or be killed, Minhyun’s threats to expose your operations to the NIS who, after the death of Nio’s founder, Kim Dongwan, assumed your family officially ceased activity in the crime syndicate, being your main motive for taking him down. Sure, you were ordered to handle the assassination but, considering you could face life in prison simply for everything you’ve done in the name of Nio’s, you were more than willing. There was one problem though, Song Minhyun was an absolute dream.
Your thoughts seemed to fade into nothingness when you initiated conversation, going with the plan to seduce and kill him only to find he was much more enticing than you anticipated. He was a year or so older than you yet spoke like he was some immortal seer, his wisdom and life stories drawing you in and leaving your heart racing. His smile was so wide and gummy but eyes sharp and attentive, never leaving yours even as he drew you further from the crowd which, according to Taeyong, was not part of the plan. And you couldn’t begin to understand how fucked you were.
You didn’t know where he was taking you, too focused on his words while simultaneously adjusting your silky white dress to reveal more cleavage from the already plunging v-neck and your walk becoming sultrier to expose more of your leg from the thigh-high slit.
“You know, you shouldn’t focus too much on your looks when you’re naturally beautiful.” Minhyun spoke, your eyes darting to him as your hands returned to your sides, a shy giggle echoing in the now deserted hallway he lead you through.
“Can you blame me? Standing next to an attractive man can really mess with a girl’s self-esteem.” You admitted, suddenly feeling like some high schooler in a rom-com.
“Well, I can help with those insecurities. Just tell me where to start and I’ll make you feel like an absolute queen.” Your breath hitched as his body turned to face you, hand reaching to cup your neck but it was large enough that his thumb could glide over your bottom lip with ease, smudging your red lipstick against your skin teasingly but still holding your gaze.
His presence, the sheer dominance he exuded made you whimper in a mixture of fear and pleasure. You weren’t going planning to escape yet he made the initiative to hold you close to him, an arm wrapped securely around your waist making a heat rush through you that could only be described as want, no longer aware of your duties and no longer caring. He was perfect, and you wanted a piece of his perfection. Maybe for the night, maybe forever, you decided you’d choose after whatever surprise he had for you was done in the dark office he dragged you into, your excitement blocking out the burning gaze from just down the hall.
Minhyun shut the door, not bothering to lock it seeing that you were so willing and easy to remain with him. He knew who you were and what you were planning to do. You were an orphan taken in by Nio’s, trained to be a child soldier for a man who couldn’t even hold his own against Minhyun’s father, now under Taeyong’s rules and orders. But knowing that his first encounter with Taeyong was less than stellar and the sudden ultimatum to forfeit all their assets to the Amarillos or be handed over to the police for sentences that can range from 50 years to death for each and every one of his precious borgata, the only thing Taeyong could do was kill him and you, unfortunately were just a pawn in those plans.
“You know, your looks are nothing to be insecure about. You’re beautiful beyond comprehension.” He spoke lowly, inching closer and guiding you to his large desk just by the window, the moonlight that seeped through the blinds the only form of light allowing you to take in his features.
You gasped as he grabbed your hips, spinning you and pressing you over the desk. You sighed in contentment at the feeling of his hands caressing up your thighs, dress riding up and slowly revealing the black thong you had, a low chuckle leaving his lips at the sight. Not just because you were practically bare before him, but at the pocket pistol held securely in its holster that you managed to forget about. It was a Glock 42, making him proud that he did his research on you because, if he was in your position right now, and the number of murders you committed were accurate, he’d be a goner already.
“(Y/n), if only you were as smart as you are beautiful.” He said, your eyes widening at the way he spoke but, more importantly, he knew your name. Your real name. Not the one you were given for this mission.
“How’d you-Ow!” You whimpered as he grabbed your hair, pulling you upwards until your back was flush with his chest.
Tears were pricking your eyes, your breathing heavy as you felt a cool metal press to your temple swallowing hard while simultaneously attempting to reach to your thigh discretely to find your own gun, only to find it was the one in his hand.
“When I read about you, I was so intrigued. So curious. You know there’s only one photo of you online and it’s a mugshot from when you were still living on the streets?” He laughed out loud at that, ignoring the way your body thrashed against his in an attempt to free yourself, head leaning further away from the possibly cocked gun in fear that he was finished monologuing already.
“But you’re really weak. And I’d usually like that in women, especially when they’re this submissive but, them wanting to kill me is a deal breaker. So what am I to do if I have the opportunity to murder my would-be assassin?” His lips were pressed to the shell of your ear, your eyes squeezed shut as you tried to silently apologize to the Nio’s. Sorry that you let your guard down, that you let some pretty face turn you into some horny teenager, the only plus side to your death being that it wouldn’t be Taeyong killing you because you knew how much he loved to torture before doing the deed. And with that final thought, you were ready to die, just hoping that someone else could finish the job you’ve failed tonight. And they did.
The sound of the door colliding with the wall was all you heard, followed by two hollow gunshots. Your eyes flew open as you felt Minhyun’s body fall limp against yours, hand slowly releasing your hair until you could move again, quickly shoving him off to adjust your dress to cover yourself before facing your silent savior, your heart stopping at the fierce, angry, “don’t move or I’ll kill you too” gaze Doyoung was giving you.
It was one thing to piss off Taeyong, you knew what to expect, but with Doyoung? He wasn’t a killer. In fact, he was the medic of your unit, coming along in case things went awry and someone needed instant care. He was a gentle person with a snappy attitude, but never one to act on his threats, so to see him with a gun in his hand, a body lying face first in blood from its skull and chest created by the man himself and approaching you with a scowl so deep you thought his baby face would finally start to wrinkle, you felt more fear than when you were almost dead.
“D-doyoung. Thank yo-“ You gasped as your head turned, eyes stinging with tears and cheek burning in both embarrassment and from the harsh impact his hand left.
You slowly peered up, afraid he’d strike you again just to see Yuta and Haechan slipping by silently, giving you a brief glance while collecting to fallen shells and your gun from Minhyun, only to leave you alone once more with the unpredictable aid.
“Doyoung-“
“Let’s go.”
Those were the only words he said before turning to head out of the office, your body immediately following close behind. He was silent the entire time, stuffing the pistol back into his waistband before buttoning his suit’s blazer to conceal it, leading the both of you through the still bumbling party and to the exit. Everything he did felt so tense despite being so normal. The way he spoke to the valets, how he entered the car without bothering to open the door for you, even his group call letting everyone know the task was done felt hostile. But you said nothing, continuing to wait idly by and praying he forgot about the situation.
You were tempted to break the awkward silence looming between the both of you on this seemingly hours long drive but, from the way he was radiating heat from how angry he was, you felt staying silent would be best. But you didn’t want to stay silent. You wanted to thank him for saving you while simultaneously screaming at him for slapping you, but also have one normal conversation with him. It was painful to admit that for the past few years you both weren’t exactly friendly with one another, no one seeming to care as “this was strictly business”, and you hated it. You never said it but you loved the Nio’s members and knew they loved you and each other as well, but for some reason the only two people that kept this family at arms length were the core members, Lee Taeyong and Kim Doyoung.
You knew Doyoung wasn’t a fan of the family ever since his father introduced him to that life, pissed he didn’t follow in his older brother’s footsteps and leave as soon as possible. He was supposed to be the heir to the family and be the boss of the 18 people living under his roof and the 7 working overseas in China to keep production there running and, as much as you didn’t want the responsibility, he was in too deep to run away. He opted to stop training for field work, developing a phony passion for medicine and surgery which led to him becoming the emergency medic for the team and no longer catching his father’s fancy for taking over their empire, leading to his heirship being rescinded. And as for the spot as heir? Doyoung’s father ordered Taeyong to fill. You knew Taeyong a lot better than the others but were utterly shocked to see him take over so easily. He was obviously a natural born leader but he had a habit of complaining about not always wanting to be in charge, using you as his unwilling therapist when he felt like reverting to his unintimidating, crybaby self. But there was no exit at this point, so what more could you do than make the most of a bad situation by befriending one another and having fun when you felt your lives were no longer in danger? And, whether they liked it or not, they were going to have fun with you and the rest of their constantly growing family.
“Y-you know, I was more scared of you then being killed back there. I’ve never seen you so mad.” You laughed, hoping to at least get a smile or something from him, your eyes glancing over to see his grip on the steering wheel tighten at your words. Maybe you should’ve just shut up.
“Doyoung, I’m sorry I put you in a situation where you had to kill, I know you hate stuff like that but, if it wasn’t for you, I’d probably be dead. Besides, it’s kinda like medicine if you think about it. Except you saved a life by taking one rather than just giving drugs to- OW!” You cried out as he slammed on the brakes, the only thing keeping you from flying through the windshield being your hands on the dashboard and the seatbelt crossed over your chest and waist.
“You bitch!” You snapped at him, watching his blank expression as he removed his seatbelt and turned off the car.
“Meet me in my office. You have five minutes.” Doyoung said plainly, your eyes fixed on him in bewilderment as he exited the car with no concern for you.
You let out an annoyed breath, your fear from before mixed with anger as you hurriedly followed his lead, leaving the car and speed walking to the front door he was entering through. To your surprise, most of the guys were there, not sparing either of you a glance as they knew what had happened and knew better than to interfere, but one person didn’t keep quiet.
“(Y/n), what the FUCK did I tell you?” Taeyong growled, your body practically jumping as he cornered you in the entrance’s corridor, eyes burning with anger and panic that you knew he had no way of controlling. He was always a hothead.
“I-I-“
“I’m having the meeting with her, Taeyong. Don’t bother. You have two minutes.” Doyoung spoke, voice fading as he continued down the hall to the small office he typically frequented to buy and sell shipment for Nio’s personal and professional use.
As soon as he was out of earshot, you grabbed Taeyong’s hands, eyes wide and teary as you tried to plead with him to save you.
“You went off where we couldn’t see you and didn’t even complete the mission. You could have been dead by now.”
“I know and you can punish however you want but, Taeyong, Doyoung is pissed, and I don’t know what to do. He already slapped me, now he’s not even speaking to me,”
“He never talks to you.”
“He does sometimes, when he wants to be a sarcastic asshole! But, please, Taeyong, talk to him. Calm him down so he doesn’t hurt me again.” You tried to use a soft voice, hoping to strike a sympathetic nerve in the doe-eyed man.
“(Y/n/n),” Taeyong sighed, cupping your face and making you lock eyes with him.
“You fucked up and made Doyoung do something he’s sworn to himself and us that he’d never do. His anger is justified. But I’ll be there for you whenever you’re in danger, whether it’d be an enemy or anyone living in this house, I’ll never let you get hurt.” He gave a warm smile, your lips curling to mimic his.
“But not tonight. You put us all at risk as you need to face the consequences.”
“Taeyong!”
“I’ll visit you in the infirmary later tonight.” You whimpered in fear as he kissed the crown of your head and pushed you in the direction of the office, heels clicking against the white marble floor as you stumbled to what might be your imminent doom.
You could taste blood in your mouth from the way you bit down on your tongue to ease your anxiety, your once statue-like body moving forward with caution although the chilly air was urging you to retreat. You couldn’t turn back because Taeyong would just escort you to Doyoung himself but if you went straight to Doyoung, who knows what he’d do. You couldn’t even take a second to cry over your dilemma once you noticed the dark brown mahogany door. The office was soundproof, something you both loved and hated. Whatever Doyoung wanted to scream at you would go unheard by the men possibly showering and preparing for bed after a somewhat successful evening, but then they wouldn’t hear you scream for help. It reminded you of earlier tonight, making the situation a bit more lighthearted until you realized you could’ve died then and would possibly die now.
“Oh god,” You breathed out in a whisper, shutting your eyes and taking a deep breath as your hand gripped the steel doorknob, turning it and entering the spacious and organized room.
“Doyoung.” You spoke lowly, shutting the door behind you but refusing to move any closer to him as he sat with an unrecognizable file before him.
“July of 2016, you were assigned to deliver a new batch of amphetamines to Xu Minghao who ran the Chinese operations of Sebong. Instead of cooperating with Weishen, AKA the Chinese sector of your own team, you thought doing the drop off yourself would be fine, only to let your guard down and let it slip that you were in Nio’s which promptly lead to you not only being ambushed, but Sicheng jumping in to save you and being shot in the lower back in the process.” He said blandly, flipping over the page to yet another as you swallowed hard at the memory, accidentally mentioning Haechan’s name and revealing you weren’t just a middle man in their operation but a direct asset, and Winwin payed the price for your stupidity.
“I remember just fine, but-“
“February of 2017, you knowingly entered enemy territory in Kyoto without alerting Yuta who, as you’ve always known, is in charge of our Japanese affairs. He has people over there for a reason, to handle the shit we can’t while we’re in Seoul. But you waltz over there and initiate a gang war that has only now been resolved.” He said, voice growing in annoyance and animosity that was a complete 180 from his once emotionless tone, your voice caught in your throat as you also remembered that day. You were on vacation and thought it’d be fine as long as you went in some disguise, but you were too well known and the fact you couldn’t speak Japanese only made it worse. You even remembered how Yuta refused to talk to you for months as he traveled constantly to fix your mistake.
“I-I know I fucked up that time but I tried to explain and I-“
“And that brings us to tonight! You had to stay in the spotlight with the man threatening not only your life but everyone you know in Nio’s and neighboring groups, and lead him back to the apartment we set up for you for a simple and quick execution, but you decide to go further into his mansion, expose yourself to him, and allow him to nearly murder you with your bare ass out!” His voice was strained as he screamed this time, your eyes watering as he pushed the large leather chair back to stand, making his way around the desk to approach you.
“I’d remind you about what happened in 2013, but I’m sure you’d never forget that.” He said with no emotion once more, your eyes low as you tried to suppress the urge to touch your slightly sunken head. Your our only job was to shoot if you saw someone escaping during an exchange but, instead, you were hit yourself, every medic working hard to keep you from dying and leaving you with a partially shaved head and a new metal plate in your skull.
“But I want you to tell me who saved your ass that time, (Y/n)?” His voice was playful now, emotions changing like an out of control radio station. Sometimes you wondered if he was just as mentally fucked as Taeyong.
You gasped when you felt his hand gripping your face, forcing your head up and back until your eyes met, a fire behind them that made your stomach swirl in fear but enchantment. You almost even forgot about how rough his grip on your jaw was because his hands were so soft, the warmth he let off no longer intimidating but causing you to turn to putty in his hands and wanting to fall against him in comfort and bliss. But the sudden harsh flick to your forehead made you realize he was anything but comforting.
“Stop acting like a touch starved dumbass and answer me. Who the fuck saved you from bleeding out in a filthy warehouse in the middle of fucking Daegu?” He said harshly, your eyes darkening as you tried to keep your composure.
“You did.”
“And you decided that me handling the responsibility of operating on you was some sentimental, heroic act and that from that day forth, you would make it everyone’s job to save you? That it was my job to save you?”
You felt your eyes tearing up again, lip quivering as a sob threatened to escape you and he could only let out a scoff, harshly pulling his hand back as he watched you cry.
“And now you’re crying.”
“I tried to thank you, I tried to apologize for making you save me yet you won’t let me! You slapped me! You’re screaming at me and making me feel bad when I already fucking feel bad. I know I’m fucking up and it’s hard on you guys but I-I just don’t know what to do! I’m tired and sick of having to live every second of my life knowing there is no one in this world I can trust and that I can never leave and that’s all I want, Doyoung! I just want to leave and be a normal person.”
The silence between you was deafening, almost loud in a way, but it was allowing you both to take in the words you said. You could see the look of conflict and annoyance on his face through your tears, a glimmer of what you both hoped and feared was sadness in his eyes as he rolled them to look anywhere but you. And what Doyoung saw of you was a breeding ground of trauma and dysfunction.
You were no different from anyone there, your life story was so similar to most of theirs that no one had time to pity you. You joined Nio’s when you were only 10, hair matted and filthy like the clothes you wore, hands stained red with blood and a look in your eyes that screamed frustration but hopelessness. You were the perfect tool for his father and it was sad watching yet another lost soul fall into this lifestyle. But you proved to be so capable of yourself, strong and competent but, after the death of his father, something in you changed. You were emotional, distracted, constantly agreeing to do task but never fully connecting mentally. He even noticed you screaming in the middle of the night from nightmares. Whether you remembered or not, you and Doyoung were close, so close it managed to shift the atmosphere of Nio’s into something enjoyable and worthy of being part of, but he knew it wasn’t good for you to stay. Not for any of you. So he gave you a chance to leave, a chance to live your life the way you had always told him you wanted, but you didn’t take it. Your reason? Taeyong. You never explained why he was the reason you were staying but the way you constantly clung to their leader like you were his lapdog was all the clarification that he needed. For Doyoung, the closeness you shared and the desire you both had of living normal lives was nothing compared to the same greed for power you shared with Taeyong. So he stopped trying to save you, stopped focusing on how to help you preserve what little of your sanity was left until now. Seeing you at your breaking point made it clear to him that even if this life would follow you forever, letting you go was better than having everyone killed from your mistakes. And, if you left, whatever problems haunted you would be yours to face alone, and he was fine with that.
“You will never be a normal person. And whatever life you choose to live will be as stressful as this one because you’ll spend every second looking over your shoulder wondering who’s out to get you. But, you’re dead weight now, and it’s unfair we’re the ones that have to keep carrying you. I don’t care when or where you go, just leave.” His tone was harsh and cold, the relief you felt at his words not enough to ease the pressure in your chest.
Doyoung’s no longer had power to make these decisions once Taeyong was appointed as leader, so you knew without the boss’ approval his word meant nothing. But, if you had the chance to run, why not take it? Maybe for one day, you could be free, probably take the time you needed to hide away from Nio’s and the crime world you knew all too well. You had no set plan, but sticking around trying to making one would do you no good.
“T-thank you. Thank you for everything.” You said with a small voice and deep bow, Doyoung not bothering to look at you as you hurriedly exited the room to head to yours and pack any belongings you needed for your new life.
You knew this life was hard to leave yet lived with the ignorant optimism that there was always some escape and no turning back. Unfortunately for you, you were simply a butterfly living in an airtight jar and, no matter where you turned, the air you needed was nowhere to be found and, tonight, was the beginning of your suffocation.

A “Fake” Love Story Pt.1| Mafia!Doyoung AU
1st of all-I’m so sorry we haven’t posted an update to the series in so long! @smorechan and I are both in school currently and have been hyper focused on that. Combine that with quarantine writers block and you get us not updating for almost 9 months straight.
2nd of all-thank you to everyone who has been reading and supporting the series! It means so much to us! We would love to hear your thoughts on the series and who you want us to write next!
3rd of all- I’ll be including a masterlist soon! It will be linked in my bio!
This series is a collaboration between myself (@marshmellowmin) and the author @smorechan. Please continue to support us as we release more related content and continue our stories. Thank you!

Years in Mafia: 10
Weapon of Choice: Billet 4x4 Snatch Rope
Body count: 3
___
*Ding*
“Thank you for coming to Cherry Blossom Co! How can I help you today?” You popped your head up from the rose bush you were plucking at the moment to look towards the door of your little flower shop. By the daisies and petunias stood a man in his early to mid twenties, shifting his eyes between the flowers before landing on your own figure.
“ Ah, I was wondering if I could get a bouquet made by tonight? Every other shop in the area is backed up with orders.” He gave a small smile before pulling his wallet out of his suit pocket “I can pay extra if it helps.”
Walking from around the massive flower pot, you wiped the dirt off of your gloves before taking them off and shoving them into the apron tied around your waist. “Don’t worry about paying extra, I can make it for you right now!” Walking over to the workbench you pulled out a basic brown wrapping paper, folding it and laying it flat down on the table. “What is the occasion? A date maybe?” You looked up to the stranger, who had moved from the daisies over to the lilies, running his fingers gently along the petals. He probably had no problem securing a date, if he wasn’t married already. Tall, handsome and a soothing voice with a calm face.
“Uh… not exactly” He set out a whispered laugh, scratching the back of his head, “ I have to meet the daughter of one of my associates tonight, I figured I should come prepared.” So he wasn’t married, nice.
“Well, do you have any idea what type of flowers you want? Big or small bouquet? And do you want a message written with it?” You pulled twine and cardstock along with lettering pens from under the counter.
“I know absolutely nothing about flowers, a decent sized bouquet and no message please, I wouldn’t know what to write,” He laughed again, this time bringing his hand to pull at his cuff sleeves. You chuckled at the man’s cluelessness, putting away the pens and cardstock. Even though he looked like a super smooth and suave guy, it was obvious he was oblivious to the world of romantics.
“Well, what kind of a meeting is it? Professional, casual, or maybe even romantic?” You asked, walking around the hydrangeas and closer to the wildflowers before finally reaching the most popular flower, the red roses.
“What kind of flowers are your favorites?” He asked, following you around your small shop, eyeing every type of flower. Surprised by the question, you paused in front of the chrysanthemums.
“I like them all, if I’m being honest. But a bouquet of different types of wildflowers and lavender are my personal favorites. I always have some on display in my living room. Do you have a favorite flower?” You figured making small talk would help hurry his decision along-and maybe come back to your shop again.
“I like that one flower, it grows a lot in America, it uhhh, it almost looks like a daisy but it’s petals are blue and purple and pink” He gave another nervous laugh, whipping out his phone this time before clicking around and unceremoniously shoving the phone into your own hands. A picture of a field, in what you assumed to be America, was on the screen, with beautiful flowers all across it.
“Those look like New England Asters!” You grinned widely, laughing. Moving back over to the wildflowers, you picked up a handful of the colorful flowers, showing them to him proudly. “I even have them in stock!”
“Wow, I didn’t know you could find them in Korea.” He followed you back through the store as you pulled different flowers from bushes and buckets before you made it back to the workbench. You continued to make small talk as you made the bouquet, finishing it much quicker than you expected.
“Here it is!” You held it up with pride, handing it over to him, which he gently took from you, a smile appearing.
“Thank you so much, here, how much do I owe you?” He went to pull out his wallet again, before you raised a hand in an attempt to stop him.
“Don’t worry about it. I had fun talking to you and I love making bouquets for people who enjoy the work behind it, so consider it on the house. Anything else you need?”
“Um, I know this is gonna sound really weird, but will you come to this meeting with me? As a um, uh, a date?”
“I’m sorry?” You choked, halting all movements to put together the bouquet.
“Well, uhm I was supposed to court the daughter of the associate I’m meeting with tonight, which is why I needed the bouquet, but she’s like 16, and on top of her being way too young, she’s a total brat who’s never been told ‘no’ in her life. So you can see why I want to avoid courting her as much as possible,” the man awkwardly laughed and rubbed the nape of his neck, looking anywhere else but at you. You were shocked by his story, not quite believing that a man would actually marry off his 16 year old daughter to a man who appeared to be in his early twenties. You couldn’t help but feel sorry for the man’s position, and also happy he wasn’t a creepy pedophile.
“I’ll go with you, but on one condition. Tell me your name.” You smiled, tending to your bouquet once again. The man smiled brightly at your answer and chuckled a bit when he realized he had never told you his name.
“It’s Kim Doyoung. Nice to meet you,” Doyoung looked at the embroidered name on your apron right below your left collarbone, “Y/N. Should I pick you up here around 6?”
“Alright. I will see you at 6 Mr. Kim Doyoung. Doyoung nodded and the two of you spent the next few minutes asking questions about each other and how the meeting tonight would go down. As it turns out, the associate he was meeting tonight was West African and had connections all over the world, and Doyoung was trying to work with him to get some of the connections. He never mentioned what the connections were for though, which you found odd. Most men love to brag about their work experiences, while Doyoung tended to tell little pieces of his experiences. Eventually the bouquet was finished and Doyoung had to leave, something you both regretted-though the thought of seeing him again tonight kept you on your toes with excitement bubbling in your stomach.
The rest of your day was just as mundane as you had expected. Nothing more than a husband with an upset wife at home, a young man on his first date, and a girl - looking for flowers to press - came into the shop. Still, your thoughts were filled with the image of a tall and lanky brunette that was supposed to be here any minute.
5:59, you heard the chime of the front door opening, and walked in the same man from hours earlier. “Are you ready?” He asked, moving to the edge of the counter that you were behind, holding out his hand. “I promise that I will make it as adventurous as possible.” He gave out a chuckle as you timidly took the hand that he had offered.
“I can’t wait to see what a high life you live Mr. Kim.” You joked, as he led you out to his car, waiting for you to lock the door to the shop.
Driving for a while, he ended up in the front of a designer store, something you never even imagined walking into. Exiting the car, he walked to your side and opened the door, once again leading you inside of the brightly lit department store. Immediately, someone had approached the two of you, asking how they could help. Mentioning something about cocktail dresses, she led you farther back into the store and started pulling dresses off of the wall and hanging them on the door of a nearby dressing room.
“Doyoung, what’s going on right now?” You asked, eyes darting between the racks of expensive clothing and the dressing room door.
“Well, you wanted to see the high life,” he laughed “plus, you need to look the part of a senator’s girlfriend, don’t you?” Senator… A SENATOR?!
Suddenly everything started clicking together. The tall lanky brunette who was definitely too sophisticated to be walking into such a small flower shop. Kim. Kim Dongyong. The youngest man in congress, who was also known as the heartthrob of Korea. You were going on a fake date with the man women of all ages were fawning over, regardless of political alignment. What. In. The. Hell.
Zoning back into reality, Doyoung was waving his slender fingers in your face. Once he noticed a bit of sentience regained in them, he dropped his hand and cleared his throat. “I- I uh… I just realized that perhaps you didn’t know who I really was, it’s my fault really, I figured everyone in Seoul had at least a clue of what I looked like. That is a bit egocentric on my part. I understand if you no longer want to be my date for the evening.” His eyes were downcast, hands clasping behind him.
“No, no, no - it’s not that. I was just too slow to put all of the pieces together, and my apologies, I just don’t pay much attention to the news, it makes me sad.” You shook off the air of shock around you, regaining your composure. “Well, I guess I have to look the part to play the part, don’t I?” You laughed, looking behind you as Doyoung went to sit on the couch, ready to see whatever dress you picked out.
Soon, you were leaving that gorgeous marbled store in a new peach dress and white heels, with a clutch to match and your hair and makeup done to the nines. During the time you were being, well, pampered, Doyoung had changed into a smart casual suit with the shirt matching the peach color of your dress. He wore off white slacks and white dress shoes, looking more like a government official than ever before.
“Is there a reason we’re matching?” You asked, looking at Doyoung’s peach shirt and back to your peach cocktail dress. You had to admit, Doyoung looked unbelievably attractive in his suit, and the dress was doing you good as well.
“Don’t we look cute? I’m happy the peach looked good. You ready?” Doyoung asked, holding his arm out for you like a classic gentleman.
“I guess so. Lead the way Mr. Senator.” You grabbed Doyoung’s arm and soon enough, the two of you were in front of a very official dining hall, a sight you could only ever see in pictures on Google prior to 30 seconds ago. Holding onto Doyoung’s left arm, you walked up the steps and into the posh building. ’s grand entrance. You were greeted by a man in a traditional suit, the black blazer and slacks with a white collared shirt and a black tie made men look like penguins-and not very attractive ones. You were silently happy Doyoung hadn’t chosen to wear one.
“Ah, Senator Kim! How lovely to see you tonight. And I see you brought a plus one! Who might she be?” The man shook Doyoung’s hand and before you even had a chance to introduce yourself, Doyoung spoke on your behalf.
“Very nice to see you as well Mr. Jeon. And this lovely lady here is my-”
“Fiance.” You cut Doyoung off before he had the chance to say “girlfriend”. Why? Who knows. But you’re stuck with it-and Doyoung knew it.
“Yes, we just got engaged so forgive my fiance for jumping in. She’s quite excited.” Doyoung’s right hand covered yours and gave it a gentle squeeze, signaling to you that you needed to say something. Or at least, that’s how you perceived it.
“Ah, yes, I’m very sorry for intruding like that. I just adore being able to call myself his fiance, please forgive me.” You gave the Mr. Jeon a sweet smile, hoping your sugary tone of voice was enough for him not to get upset. Unbeknownst to you, however, Doyoung was suppressing the world’s most shit eating grin, knowing you were the one who dug yourselves this massive hole and you were gonna be the one to get yourselves out.
“No worries, how could I be angry at such a wonderful couple? Although, not just two days ago Senator Kim here was one of Korea’s most eligible bachelors. Seems a little fast paced for an engagement, no?”
“We’ve actually known each other for a couple years now, haven’t we dear?” Doyoung dragged out the little nickname, weirdly making your heart flutter a bit. You silently nodded in agreement. Mr. Jeon smiled and Doyoung made an escape attempt.
“Well it was nice seeing you here Mr. Jeon, I do hope to meet again after this. I figured my fiance and I should mingle a little bit, give me a true chance to show her off,” Doyoung smiled and shook the hand of Mr. Jeon before finally walking away with you hanging onto his elbow. You truly had no idea where he was going, but he made a beeline for somewhere and you were stuck following him, muttering hellos and nice to meet yous every time someone would try and speak with you two. Eventually Doyoung’s pace slowed and you found yourself near the back of the room by a couple security guards and a folding table for two. In true gentlemanly fashion, Doyoung pulled out a chair and motioned for you to sit before sitting himself right across from you.
“Fiance? Really? Seems kinda sus for a first date no?” Doyoung laughed, his gummy smile radiating pure sunshine at you from across the table. His tone and vocabulary completely shifted from the proper one he used with his political associates to a nonchalant and friendly one. You smiled back at him, giggling just a bit when Doyoung couldn’t quite stop his laughter.
“I have no clue. But on the brightside, I don’t think you’ll have to worry about girls wanting to court you anymore?” You shrugged your shoulders, signalling that if anyone did try, you weren’t to blame.
“That may very well be, but I can’t help but wonder what the headlines will look like once this news gets out. Maybe ‘Kim Dongyoung Engagement Announcement?’” Doyoung messed with the position of his watch on his left wrist and looked back up at you, seemingly expecting a response.
“You’re not being creative enough Mr. Kim. I bet it’ll be something like ‘Korea Loses its Most Eligible Bachelor Overnight to a Mysterious New Woman’” or something.” You laughed, thinking of many more outrageously dramatic headlines to come within the next 24 hour.
“Hm maybe. Wanna put something to that bet?” Doyoung asked, leaning ever so slightly over the table closer to you.
“Is that a challenge I hear?” You responded, mirroring his movements.
“You win, you become my real girlfriend. I win, you owe me three more dates then you can leave this entire life behind.” Doyoung sounded solemn when offering you an out, but you took this as a chance to be an outrageous flirt.
“Let’s hope I win then. We can’t add an engagement scandal to your name now can we?” You winked at the man in front of you, who only seemed stunned at your words. All you could do was stare into his eyes, an endless ocean of black drawing you further and further in-until Doyoungs phone went off. Awkwardly coughing, Doyoung answered his phone.
“What do you want? Huh? Now? Impeccable timing man. Yeah. I got it. See you at home. Bye.” Doyoung ended the call and huffed out a stressed sigh.
“Home?” You questioned. Doyoung never once mentioned his home in all your conversations together-granted you had only known him for 13 hours. But you were still curious.
“That was my brother, of sorts. Anyways we have to talk to the ambassador from West Africa now, he just arrived. Is my fiance ready?” Doyoung drug out the word fiance as if to flirt and mock you at the same time. You could only roll your eyes and smile. He held out his hand for you to take and led you to a group of officials you could only assume were the West African Ambassador’s party. The ambassador himself was first to acknowledge the two of you.
“Ah Mr. Senator Kim! What a pleasure it is to meet you again, and under much, better, circumstances. I do apologize for the actions of my guards, their aim is just terrible. And who might this lovely young lady on your arm be?” The ambassador spoke, shaking Doyoungs hand and then yours. But the one thing that caught your attention was the stress the Ambassador put on the word ‘better’ and then his mention of his guards’ terrible aim. Did they shoot at Doyoung? Why would a Senator of Korea be shot at by a West African guard? Is there something Doyoung isn’t telling you about?
“This is my fiance, Ms. Y/L/N. I do apologize for the lack of mentions about her, you see not even my staff knew about her until this morning.” Doyoung’s words were short and almost crude, his tone overly nice. It was obvious he didn’t like this man.
“Not a worry Mr. Kim. She’s lovely. You’re a lucky man. My daughter was too shy to come anyways. She’ll be heartbroken, but one can only do so much in the way of a fiance, yeah?” You had a hard time making sense of his words, half due to his heavy accent and half due to the fact that you couldn’t stop thinking about the possibility of Doyoung being shot at.
“I do appreciate the understanding, Ambassador. Now, do you have it?” Doyoung asked, eyeing you as if you were listening in on a conversation you shouldn’t be hearing. You were just thoroughly confused about everything happening. Doyoung could’ve been shot and now he’s cryptically asking for something? There’s definitely more to this Senator than meets the eye.
“Only if you have what I asked for, Mr Kim.” The Ambassador responded, signalling to someone in his party to do something, because the minute the Ambassador’s hand moved, the man nodded and left as if he was on a mission.
“You should find that it’s exactly where you need it. We’re very thankful for this, Ambassador. Should you ever need help in the future, don’t hesitate to ask.” Doyoung shook the Ambassadors hand one more time before returning his arm to your waist, pulling you closer into his side. You were now clueless as to who this “we” was that Doyoung mentioned. Did it have to do with the brother-of-sorts he mentioned earlier? One of the Ambassador’s other men leaned over and whispered something to him, making the Ambassador smile.
“You are all set Mr. Kim. Thank you for the generosity. We will definitely be in contact should we ever need help.” With that, Doyoung smiled and turned on his heels towards the door. You wanted to ask Doyoung so many questions but before you could he pulled out his phone and opened a news app.
“Looks like you won this bet, Ms. Y/L/N. I do look forward to our future together,” Doyoung said as he shoved the phone screen in your face. You had to hold his shaky wrist to stabilize the words enough to read the latest headline “Kim Dongyoung, Korea’s Most Eligible Bachelor, Stolen by Mysterious New Woman.

Somewhere else (Mafia!Au) Reader x Doyoung
"Doyoung. I choose Doyoung."
As much as the look Johnny gave you hurt, you couldn't deal with him any longer. "I've tried too hard for too long Johnny, if you won't come around I can't wait any more. It's too hard for me."
"Y/N please I can-" Johnny immiedately tried to plead but Taeyong raised his hand and stood up.
"It's been decided. The date will remain but decorations will change as the new groom and bride see fit. If you have an objection, I will not hear it. Y/N has made up her mind." Taeyong looked directly at Johnny and the two walked away, Johnny turning back a few times but you couldn't meet his eyes.
Doyoung went over to you and held your hands, "Don't worry about him, he'll be fine." His hand hesistantly touched your cheek and you leaned into it and sighed, closing your eyes.
You stayed like that for a minute before opening your eyes and smiling, "We've got some work for our wedding."
The following weeks were spent with the preparations for the wedding. Because of your decision, there were some things that changed last minute. Like the flowers changing from a deep blue and white to (your favorite color) and light blue.
Presently, you sat before a mirror with a stylist putting the final touches to your hair. You told her a quick 'thank you' and she took her leave. You stood up and backed away, able to get a full look of yourself in the mirror and smiled tiredly. You looked beautiful, like a angel. Yet you were nervous. Johnny hasn't spoken to you since then, he didn't even spare a glance anymore. You played with the braclet in your hands anxiously, was he even there? You weren't sure why you worried so much, he never made an effort. But then again, you would be family after today, family should be close. Finally you were pulled out of your thoughts when a knock came from the door.
"Come in" You said sitting down on the couch in the room, grabbing a snack.
Johnny walked in, awkwardly holding a small box. "You look.. beautiful today."
"Thank you," You smiled, the tense in the room thick enough to be cut by a knife. "What's that?" You point to the box.
"An offering of sorts." He handed it over to you, "I just wanted to make amends, so there's no ill feelings between us since you'll be apart of the family.. I don't want you to be uncomfortable in the house."
You open the box and reveal a ring with music notes engraved into it. "It's so pretty, thank you Johnny." You smile to him and put it on.
"You're going to put it on now? During the ceremony?" Johnny looked shocked.
"Of course, it goes with my necklace," You motion to the rosegold necklace that matched wonderfully with the ring.
"Well, I'll get going then, see you-" Johnny started to leave but you stood up and put your hand out. He looked at you confused but grabbed your hand.
You pulled him into a quick hug, "Thanks for coming Johnny. I'm glad to be apart of this family and I hope we can be close one day. I say this is a good step forward."
Johnny nods and smiles, waving bye as he leaves.
The wedding went perfectly. Though the flower girls were overtaken by Haechan and Jungwoo, the clowns were going up and down the rows throwing flowers at everyone. It filled the hall with laughter, the mood was upbeat and bright. You held hands with Doyoung as he subtly wiped a tear away, replacing it with a bright smile. You said your vows together and after was the reception, where you two had shared the first dance.
"I don't think there's anyone in the world whose as beautiful as my wife." Doyoung hummed quietly, his head on yours.
"Likewise, nobody can beat my husband's looks. Except maybe a cute bunny." You teased.
He grabbed your hand and put it on his heart, "As long as I'm the only one in your heart, I can live with that."
You chuckled and nodded. He kissed you deeply.
"I love you Mrs. Kim."
"I love you too Mr. Kim."

Black Daisies| Ch.12 | Judas
Summary:
“Only the dead have seen the end of war.”
An NCT mafia AU with OT23. Summary: Working for the mafia comes with many layers. There’s excitement, violence, loss, and betrayals. Yet there’s also friendship, family, loyalty, and code. The last thing it needs? Love and all the complexities it brings.
TW: violence, death, mentions of sex, drugs, and other illegal activities. If you’re uncomfortable with any of these, feel free to skip. Author’s note: This is purely a work of fiction. In no way am I supporting all the illegal activities and behaviors that might be mentioned in the story nor am I implying that any member of NCT acts whichever way I may write them here.

Fic Trailer
There was a ringing in my ears that blocked out every other sound in the room. My eyes, which have been stuck on the screen of what used to be Johnny and Mark's camera, moved slowly to the one next to it, only to see Yuta’s connection go offline as well. Beside me, Jungwoo was trying desperately to get the connections back online, his cries for our other members over his microphone lost on me. I couldn’t hear anything except for the buzzing that has slowly filled my head, making me numb all throughout.
A sharp stab of pain from someone grabbing my arm harshly brought me back to reality. I turned to my side and tried to refocus my gaze on the face of my father’s mistress. She looked pale with shock too, but the fear in her eyes has intensified.
“Get a grip on yourself. You have to do something. You need to get help.”
It was like I was suddenly doused with water after she said that. Snapping back to the situation, I whipped around to look at Jungwoo who has now resorted to checking the view from the drones that we always have on backup. I scrambled to get to the nearest console to me and connected to the first person that my instinct told me to call.
He answered after about three rings.
“Taeyong—”
“Where are you? Are you at the headquarters?”
“Yes. Johnny and Yuta—”
“I know. Don’t worry. We got them.”
His words made me stop in shock. I know the plan and format for this mission—which originally doesn’t include him—so I’m completely lost as to what is happening right now. Frowning, I turned to look at Jungwoo who was still trying his best to find any sign of life from the drone cameras that he had scouring over the mission area. It’s obvious he is just as clueless as I am from the way he was desperately trying to locate the others.
“What do you mean you have them. Where are you?”
“Xiaojun, Hendery, Yangyang, and Sicheng were watching over. We just got the message that they’ve secured them out of the area.”
Wait. WayV? There was a contingency plan with them?
“Listen, I need you to do something,” the urgency in his voice pulled me back from my confused state. I tried my best to focus and pressed my in-ear harder to hear him better. Now I could pick up voices in the background from his end, as well as a sharp screeching of tires against pavement as if they were speeding down a highway.
“What is it?”
“No matter what happens, don’t stop Lucas, okay?”
“What? What do you mean—”
Just then, a sharp inhale of breath from my side made me whip around in surprise. With wide eyes, I watched as Lucas’ towering frame caught the limp body of the woman beside me, a handkerchief in his hand covering half of her face. Jungwoo looked on with equal shock, momentarily forgetting what he was doing.
“What the hell man—”
Lucas’ simply pressed a finger against his lips before effortlessly lifting the woman’s body in his arms. He nudged his head towards the exit then, his expression grim.
“Can I borrow one of your cars?”
Both Jungwoo and I didn’t have any other choice but to give a quick nod. In seconds, he was out of the base, the sound of an engine blaring up before speeding away.
“The fuck is happening,” Jungwoo finally turned to look at me at this time. Before I could even answer him, a movement on one of the screens he was watching caught my attention. I gasped and grabbed at his arm before pointing at it.
“Jungwoo, it’s Mark!”
His head whipped back to the screen the exact moment that Mark started waving frantically at the drone flying over his head. He didn't waste any time jumping to the console to zoom in on the scene. Our eyes widened when other figures walked out from the cover of the building, a limp body in between them.
“Oh my god,” I whispered. “Johnny’s injured.”
Jungwoo immediately jumped into action as the situation both hit us. With renewed panic, I turned to my own computer while he tried to connect our lines to whoever still has their mics intact. WayV wasn't originally hooked into the mission platform that we had going but it took him about three seconds to finally find their lines.
“Is anyone else injured?” I tersely asked him as my fingers flew over my keyboard. He squinted at the screen to get a better look.
“Yuta looks like he’s been shot but he can still walk.”
My jaw tightened. “Make sure to get them out of there,” I said as I pushed a button that would send an emergency call to our medical affiliates. I didn’t even realize that I was still connected to Taeyong until I heard him talk again.
“Is everyone safe?”
That’s when I realized it.
“Taeyong, where are you? I can’t find your location.”
He didn’t answer immediately.
“I unhooked myself from the tracking system.”
“What?! Why?”
“But we’re on our way to Jaehyun.”
There are two things there that didn’t make sense.
First, what the hell does Jaehyun have to do with any of this in the first place? I still haven’t had time to process everything that has happened so far since my father's mistress forced herself to come with me, but his name has popped up again and again. Second, why is there a completely separate set of plans that we didn't know about?
“Jaehyun? Why are you after him? Who are you with?”
“I’m with Kun and Ten. Listen, trust me on this, okay? I need to cut the call. I’ll be back, I promise.”
“No, Taeyong wait!” I heard the line disconnect with a resounding click before I even managed to finish. As if on autopilot, my eyes found the screen where a list of all the members’ tracking chips showed their live connection to the system. By law, everyone should always keep theirs on for monitoring purposes when the situation calls for it. There are only a few reasons that could change the glowing green there to black: 1) When they blatantly turn it off to hide any of their activities 2) When they are severely injured or worse, dead.
My heart dropped at what I saw there. Right now, Taeyong and Jaehyun’s lights stared back at me blankly like a pair of soulless black eyes.
-----
“Are you sure you don’t want us to go with you?” Kun asked the man beside him one last time as his grip on the steering wheel tightened. Taeyong secured the suppressor of his gun with a click before giving him a tight nod.
“It’ll be better if you and Ten can keep watch here. We’re still not sure if Wonho called for reinforcements. You can guard my back better from afar.”
That was a blatant lie, of course. He already knew the specifics of this plan before he even jumped on it and there is definitely no one who will be coming to join the party, at least from what he was told. But he can’t let the others know that, not if he wants to wrap this up the way he wants to.
When he got the call from the Don’s mistress, Taeyong’s first instinct was to wave it off as a lie. Why on earth would he even believe someone who is obviously on the side of the very man who threw the whole family into chaos? It doesn't make any sense for this person to approach him and tell him that one of his best friends, Jaehyun, was supposed to blatantly sabotage one of their group's crucial operations. His trust in his family, his brother, shut him off from even considering the possibility, and in his head, he justified the random and unexpected communication as another twist on this sick game they are playing.
He was set on that...not until she told him that Jaehyun was walking into a trap of his own. While she didn't elaborate how she got her information, she did explain Wonho's plan—how he originally only wanted to get out of the country to save his ass with Jaehyun's help before changing plans last second when he struck a different deal with another devil; Jihoon himself. That's when Taeyong really started to listen.
He realized that she wasn't doing this to cause trouble for Jaehyun or their group. She was doing it to save him by asking for his help, even if it means betraying his friend to him. Taeyong didn't have to delve deeper to understand her motivations behind her actions or to see through everything to understand what was happening. The dots have connected by themselves.
His mind went back to the first time he met Jaehyun, when he asked to be a member of the family. When he said that he wanted to buy off someone's freedom as his reason for entering this type of life, Taeyong thought he simply wanted the money and power to probably free someone from a brothel, maybe even from a smaller crime family.
As it turns out, he was after the mistress of his own Don.
Of course Taeyong had to take extra precautions and make his own plans carefully after that. First he had to act like he didn't believe a word of what she told him, just in case there is still a slight chance that she really is on the Don's side. Second, he had to arrange for a contingency team with help from WayV without telling the rest of 127, another precaution to keep the information sealed within a select few in case someone else slips it out. Yet even Kun and others were only given select mission data by him, for the sake of his own plans.
And now here they are, on the edges of a rough road that led to a deep forest at the outskirts of the city. The canopies of the trees beyond looked foreboding, but Taeyong knew that a few minutes of walk and he'll find himself in a clearing where Wonho was supposed to be picked up and shipped off somewhere. From the back seat, he could see Ten trying to maneuver the drones that he will be using to scope the area for him.
"One strange move and I will have the bombs rain the place, okay?" He said and Taeyong had to swallow hard before giving him a slight nod. Kun turned to him one last time to wish him good luck.
"Just call if you need anything. We'll be listening."
Taeyong gave the other a parting look before opening the door of the car and stepping outside.
-----
Jaehyun tried his best to try and keep the irritation from showing on his face as his eyes scoured his surroundings. He wasn't supposed to be here—the deal with the rat was for him to help him get out of the country safely, something Jaehyun has fulfilled already by giving him all the mission plans of 127. He even made sure to find a carrier who isn't connected to their network to help fly the bastard off just so he could have a quick, clean run, but instead the asshole had the gall to demand him to show up today "just to make sure the he won't sell him off" the last second. He could have easily told him to fuck off, but he honestly just wants this to be done and over with so he accepted.
He glanced now at his watch and noted the time there. If everything went to plan, then the rest of his unit should have realized that they were duped at this point. Jaehyun sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He doesn't have much time to waste here anymore because Taeyong will surely be asking for a regroup any time now. Not to mention, he can't really put his tracker off for that long without being noticed…
A movement on his right caught his attention. Pulling his gun from his holster, Jaehyun pointed it right into the forehead of a smirking Wonho who emerged from the bushes. The man simply raised his hands in a placating manner before greeting him in that saccharine sickly tone that has always grated on his nerves.
"Hey, hey. Relax, it's me. Your friend. No need for guns here~"
Jaehyun frowned and lowered his hand, but not before checking that he was alone.
"Why the hell did you call me here? And why aren't you on the plane out of this country? Don't tell me you fucked up the agreement with the courier."
"Oh that? No, of course not. Thank you for doing that, by the way. I'm pretty sure they can be trusted."
Jaehyun felt his blood go cold. There is something wrong here... The lilt on the man's tone was enough to make him listen—really listen this time. This isn't the same person who had been literally begging him for help during the first few times they've met. Instead there was an eerie type of sureness in him, one that was making all the red flags flash in his head. Still, he didn't let his hunch betray him, his face still devoid of any emotions.
"When will they pick you up?" He asked calmly now as his eyes followed the other who had started pacing in front of him. The gun by his side felt heavy and he slowly and inconspicuously cocked its hammer with his thumb.
"Not anytime soon. You see Jaehyun, there's been a change of plans."
He didn't say anything. Wonho continued, a sick little smile twisting the corners of his lopsided grin as if he was telling the world's most amusing story.
"Know what, I've always always thought I have always been dealt bad cards when it comes to luck. I've been working my ass off in this shitty city but I just can't strike gold the same way you and your group of pretty boys did. It is kinda unfair you see, and after knowing that the feds are legitimately after my ass, I said I'd just go pack up, maybe find better chances elsewhere."
"But then! Then something good happened, Jaehyun, could you believe that?!" Wonho suddenly jumped to face him, eyes wild. Jaehyun's arm shot up again to point at his forehead, but the man didn't even budge this time.
"This person came to me and told me that I don't need to get out of Korea after all. Not only that, he even said that I could—listen to this—that I could be the top dog if I do something for him! I didn't want to believe him at first, but he is REALLY persuasive," Wonho suddenly stopped still and craned his head a bit to the side, his smile slowly widening.
"I'm sure you know who he is… Jihoon? I heard you guys are pretty chummy with the guy."
Jaehyun didn't waste any second to pull the trigger of his gun. Unfortunately for him, he did it the same time a bullet whizzed past his head, hitting the firearm out of angle so that his aim missed Wonho by mere inches. His head whipped to the side as another bang resounded from deep into the woods, this time effectively making him drop his gun.
Sniper. Fuck. So he wasn't alone.
A manic laugh made his eyes snap again towards the man in front of him. He was met by the nose of the gun now pointed at his head.
"Strange, strange man, that Jihoon. I like him though. He's crazy. Mad. It will be fun if he takes over your unbearable asses at NCT."
Jaehyun remained frozen on where he stood, his mind flashing a dozen different scenarios. It stopped at one face, the reason why he decided to buy his one way ticket to hell.
"He does have one condition though," Wonho smirked and pressed the gun to his forehead. "I do have to kill you on my own, without any help, and haul your body off to him as proof. So… let's just keep it our little secret that I cheated a little, okay? I know you're great at keeping them anyway... Especially when it comes to your friends~"
Jaehyun watched in slow motion as the other wrapped his finger around the trigger. Slowly, he closed his eyes, hoping that the last thing he could see was her face.
Bang!
The chill of the metal kissed the skin of his forehead as the resounding crack of the bullet tore through the forest. The bone-chilling blare was then followed by a strange gurgling sound, one that made Jaehyun finally open his eyes again. He was met by the sight of Wonho who is currently splayed on the ground, choking on his blood.
Another shot made him whip around in panic. A soft grunt and a rustling from a few meters away had him picking up his own gun again, but the source seemed to have lifelessly hit the ground before he could even pinpoint its location. The adrenaline was rushing through his veins, blood pumping noisily in his ears.
The crack of a twig under a boot made him almost snap. He was about to shoot towards the general direction of it when a face appeared from the edge of the clearing. For the second time that day, Jaehyun found himself on the receiving end of a gun once more.
This time though, he felt true fear.
"Taeyong.."
"Don't move. Drop your gun to the ground," Taeyong's voice was icy, a complete opposite of how his gaze burned against his skull now. Jaehyun saw anger there, but it wasn't that which clawed at him the most.
It was the look of pain in his friend's eyes.
He let his gun fall to the dirt and kicked it towards the other.
"Why?"
Jaehyun gritted his teeth at the question. He knew it was coming, but it was something he never had an answer prepared for.
"I'm sorry."
"You betrayed us!" Taeyong's words were like a whip, cutting through him like knives. He wanted nothing more but to look away, but Jaehyun knew he didn't deserve it at this moment.
"You almost had the others killed. Johnny and the rest—how could you do this?"
His heart dropped at the revelation. Nobody...was supposed to be hurt.
"Are they okay?"
But Taeyong didn’t answer him. Instead he kept his gun steady on him even as his face twisted with pain and anger.
"Why didn't you just tell me? We could have done something to help her if that's what you wanted."
Jaehyun's words died in his throat at the question. A cold feeling started crawling up his arms, spreading throughout his whole body.
"Where is she? Is she safe?"
Taeyong gritted his teeth. "You turned your back on us for her."
"And you wouldn't if you were in my position?!" Jaehyun's voice finally rose as the desperation cracked his facade. "You weren't supposed to join the call Taeyong and you changed your mind for a woman, just like me. Don't tell me you wouldn't have the same decision for her. You would have done the same."
Taeyong remained silent, but Jaehyun didn't really need him to say anything to know his answer.
"Nobody was supposed to get hurt," he continued, his voice almost cracking. "You know I wouldn't have forgiven myself if that happened."
"But it did. Only because you couldn't trust us."
That felt like a stab through the heart. Even if there was an excuse he could throw back at him now, he knew Taeyong was right.
"I didn't have the guts to tell you. You weren't supposed to be a part of the game. Then all of a sudden we were both trying to win. Even if I told you, we had different goals. How could we have found a solution to that?"
"We could have done something, anything to make it work, just like how we've always done it before as a family. But instead you decided to be selfish because you didn't trust us enough. We were your brothers, Jaehyun."
Were. The connotation of that killed any other will within him.
"I'm sorry," that was all he said before he resigned himself to silence. He wanted those two words to be the last thing he said at the end of his life. Taeyong and the others, at least, deserved that.
If I betray, my flesh shall burn.
That was the code. Death is the only payment acceptable for what he did. Jaehyun wished he could have seen her one last time, but maybe that is the price he has to pay for what he has done.
Taeyong cocked his gun and finally pulled the trigger.
-----
The bullet whizzed past Jaehyun's head before it hit the bark of a tree behind him. Eyes wide, his eyes snapped to Taeyong who had slowly lowered his weapon in front of him.
"Go. Get away from Seoul. From this country if you have to."
He was speechless. What is he...
"I'm exiling you from 127. You are not allowed to set foot in any of our territories or connect with any of us again. You are on your own now."
"Taeyong—"
"A car is waiting for you on the other side of this forest. She's waiting for you there…"
Jaehyun froze. Then it clicked.
He was giving him...and her a way out.
"But if we go, the Don will know you helped us. He'll go after you," he said, desperation in his voice. In his head, he couldn’t believe that this could be this easy—or that he even deserved this. He already betrayed him once, he couldn’t do it to his family again.
"No, we didn't help,” Taeyong answered calmly, and the look of resignation on his face made Jaehyun’s chest hurt. “You wanted to work with Wonho but you failed. We tried killing you but you escaped and ran away with her. We didn't help you. You betrayed us… remember?"
The pieces that have started falling into their places pinned him from where he stood. Taeyong simply stared back at him, and in that moment, they were brothers again.
"Thank you."
His leader and friend simply nodded in answer. Jaehyun gave him one last parting glance, a look that said all the unspoken words they couldn't say before he turned and disappeared into the forest.
Taeyong waited for Jaehyun to entirely disappear into the thickening trees beyond before hooking up his in-ear again. He deliberately cut off his connection with Kun and Ten earlier to make sure that what happened in the forest clearing stays a secret. The moment the line crackled to life again, Kun's urgent voice immediately jumped in.
"Taeyong. Can you hear us? Are you alright?"
"Yes. I am going back now.”
"Where are you? The drones can't catch your location," Ten added.
"It looks like we were tipped the wrong location. I'm sure I'm on the other side of the quadrant you are surveying," he said, knowing exactly that he gave the wrong information to the other.
"What? Where are you right now? How about Jaehyun?"
He paused.
"He escaped."
Kun cursed at the line. "Should we go after him?"
"I think we need to take care of the scene first. Wonho's dead,” he said as he finally turned and started tracing his steps back. “Can you try and see if we can plant the evidence and have our affiliates come over? The rest of the team are probably busy with the injured—"
Taeyong wasn't able to finish what he was saying when not only one, but two bullets landed on his chest. In his shock, he turned around to see Wonho lying on the ground, the nose of his gun still smoking from the shots he just fired. With the shock rendering him numb from the initial pain, he managed to lift his own gun to fire a bullet right in the middle of the other's forehead before the edges of his vision dimmed. He hasn't even hit the ground yet when he was entirely swallowed by darkness.
----
Light feather touches gently eased me from my sleep. Slowly, I opened my eyes, my still blurry vision being met by a beeping heart rate monitor with flickering numbers that blinked back at me.
It took me seconds before I realized where I was again. Jumping from the awkward crouch that I had over the hospital bed, my eyes quickly searched to find—
"Hey."
The breath that I was unconsciously holding released itself from my chest. Taeyong was smiling at me from where he was lying, face pale. He looked like it had been a while since he woke up from the way his eyes crinkled at me despite them still being loopy from morphine.
My gaze immediately scrambled to check every wire and IV connected to him, then at his vitals being flashed on the monitor beside his bed.
"Are you okay? How long have you been up? I need to call the doc—"
I was in the middle of picking myself up from the chair that I had camped beside his bed since he was moved to his room, but a gentle hand on my arm stopped me. Taeyong shook his head and tugged me back to my seat gently.
"Stay. I'm fine."
My eyes flew to the door before hesitantly doing what he wanted. One of his hands found mine and he tangled our fingers together, his skin feeling warmer than it was a couple of hours ago.
"How are you feeling? Are you in pain?" I asked softly, as if speaking louder would hurt him even more. My gaze moved briefly to his bandaged chest just to check if he somehow busted his stitches while he was sleeping.
Taeyong shook his head. "No. It stings but it is bearable. How long have I been out…?"
"16 hours…"
"Oh...wow…"
"Three doctors operated on you. You barely made it. We thought—" I stopped to give myself a few seconds to keep the tightness of my throat from overwhelming me. The sides of my eyes started to sting and I had to blink the tears back before they spilled. Taeyong noticed, the hand holding me moving to cup my cheek.
"Hey, it's fine. I'm okay…"
I nodded and tried my best to keep my emotions in check. I felt his thumb gently run over the corners of my eyes and I looked at him again to find his gaze tinged with slight worry.
"Have you been crying?"
I couldn't answer immediately. I could have easily lied, but I knew he would catch me on to it, the same way he always did when we were kids. I have never been able to hide anything from him.
"I thought I was going to lose you…” I said softly to keep my voice from breaking.
A flicker of guilt flashed over his pale face. He tried to bury it by smiling again, though the gesture didn't quite reach his eyes.
"I thought so too. I thought I'd never see you again."
"What exactly happened, Taeyong?"
Pain momentarily reflected in his eyes and one look at it told me that it wasn't because of the holes in his chest at the moment. He let go of my face and turned to stare at the ceiling instead.
"Jaehyun was working with Wonho. He and your father's mistress have a history and he decided to go and do things his way to win the Donship. She approached me to tell me about his plans because Jaehyun stopped listening to her and I had to come up with something to fix it. I confronted him in the forest but he managed to escape."
I silently listened to every word he said and noticed just how much in pain he was in when he recalled everything. Taeyong can be bigger than the world most of the time—it's what is expected from him for carrying his role—but in times like this, you can see who he really is; a boy hurt for losing one of his family.
"I see…" I looked away briefly to try and find the best approach for my next words. "Now, will you tell me what really happened?"
Taeyong's eyes shot back to me. I gave him a small smile of understanding in return.
It wasn't so hard for me to piece everything together. That moment with Jaehyun’s woman back in my father's mansion and a quick review of his past tracking activities gave away to what he has been doing even if I could only see a piece of the whole story. As for Taeyong, it doesn't take much for me to realize the role he played at the end of it...I knew him enough to guess what he decided to do about the situation.
"You never miss a target, Taeyong. If you really wanted to kill him, Jaehyun would be dead by now...You helped him escape, didn't you? And you didn't tell anyone because you wanted him to leave with her without hurting anyone else."
He didn't answer immediately. He simply turned his gaze away.
"Did you tell anyone…?"
I shook my head.
"No. But the team is mad...as they should be. Yuta especially. I don't think Jaehyun can get closer to any of us within a hundred mile radius without him losing his head."
That made him chuckle.
"That's good. The farther he is away from us, the better…"
A blanket of silence dropped between us and for a few seconds, we just looked at each other. Slowly, Taeyong moved again to hold my hand.
"Thank you for keeping it a secret."
"Why did you do it?"
"Because he is my brother…” he answered, and in that moment, he freely showed the care he was holding back. His eyes lifted to mine then, baring the rest. “And because I would have done the same as he did...if it was you."
My heart constricted at his words. Once upon a time, I would have pulled away, simply brushed it off. But I couldn't find it in me to do that right now, not after I thought I was going to lose him just hours ago.
"You know it shouldn't be like that...right?" I asked softly though I didn't pull away from his hold. He squeezed my hand gently as he gave me a slight smile.
"You do know it has always been up to you. You tell me to throw everything on the line and I'll do it. You ask me to leave you alone and act like we're nothing, I'll do it too. I've been doing it for the past years, I can do it for more… Just say what you want, I have always been at your bidding."
It felt like a hot rod was slowly but pointedly pushed to my chest when he said that. Until now, I haven't realized how selfish I have been when it comes to him. Taeyong is the one part of my life that links the one I've left behind to the one I have right now. In my desperation to erase my past, I didn't realize I had asked him to fade away with it, too. It was unfair, and yet I never heard anything from him about it. He has always been just there for me, far enough to respect the distance I created, but always close enough to reach out to whenever I needed him.
I didn't deserve him.
"I'm sorry…" I whispered, and I felt my tears finally fall. He deftly caught them by letting go of my hand and wiping them away with his fingers.
"Shh… It's fine. I'm making you cry again."
I lifted my hand and covered the one he had that was still holding my face. That made Taeyong smile as he gently ran his thumb over my cheek.
"Let's just enjoy this moment, okay? I like it when I can hold you."
For a moment, I simply gazed at him. Then, with a small smile, I finally said the words I've always wanted to say but have always held back all these years.
"You don't have to let go this time…"
---
“Unnie.”
I looked up at the soft voice that called out to me after I silently closed Taeyong’s door behind me. He has drifted back to sleep for the meantime so I decided to slip out quickly just to check if everything is still in place in the headquarters. With everyone stressed and tired from yesterday’s happenings, it doesn’t come as a surprise that all the members have retreated to their own rooms to recover. I saw one of our private doctors approach me, a small smile on her face.
“Hey, I didn’t know you were still here...” I managed to greet her tiredly as she stopped before me. The girl nodded, her eyes quickly scanning over my face. It hasn’t been long since she decided to join the team because of Jaemin, but she has done so much for everyone already, always being there whenever we need medical help. It isn’t often that I see her around for her own protection, but I’ve already developed a sisterly bond with her despite that still.
“Uh...yes. I just thought to hang out a little bit more in case someone else needs help. I might leave soon though. I did find something left by the door...I think this is for you...?”
My eyes fell to the thick envelope that she had in her hands. Taking it, I turned it over to see my name written over its back in clean, elegant script.
My blood froze. I know that handwriting. It’s the same one that was scrawled on the first letter that was also addressed to me a week ago.
“Is everything okay, Unnie?” the other girl asked me and I quickly tried my best to hold back the fear that has gripped me. I managed to give her a smile.
“Yes. I’ll have to check who this is from. Why don’t you go home tomorrow? It’s late and it’s dangerous. Just stay with Jaemin tonight.”
She didn’t look entirely convinced, but she was polite enough not to ask something I obviously wasn’t ready to share. “Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow then. Just call me if you or Taeyong oppa need anything.
I muttered my appreciation to that and watched as she disappeared into the second floor where the Dream rooms are. I waited until I heard a door close before turning my gaze to the envelope again. The package felt heavy in my hands and on its upper cover fold was what looked like a dried flower. I squinted.
A daisy.
I quickly looked around and gave Taeyong’s door one last look before walking towards my table on the other side of the room. Taking a seat, I carefully opened the package and gently shook it, which caused a small portable drive to fall into my hands. I picked it up with a small frown before deciding to hook it up to one of the monitors in front of me.
A small window opened in the screen, telling me that the file was being read. In the meantime, I turned my attention to the rest of the contents of the envelope, my hand sticking in to pull what looked like piles of photos there.
None of the images made sense to me at first look. I squinted at the few ones I picked from the pile, not exactly knowing what I should look at. The first photo seemed to have been taken at a hotel restaurant, and my eyes roamed each of the faces there to see if there is anything that might jump out. I scanned quickly through the image, until I stopped and went back again at a smiling face on its far left.
I felt my blood slowly turn cold as my eyes processed what I was seeing. It felt like the wind was punched out of me and I couldn’t breathe.
It’s been years since I last saw that face, but I could recognize that smile anywhere despite the age lines now adorning her face.
In that moment, the screen in front of me flickered on and the video started to finally play. It was taken in the same place as the photo, but the view was closer this time, as if the shooter was just a few tables away from her.
The lady slightly reared her head back at something the man sitting across from her said. The footage didn’t have any sound, but I could hear her laugh clearly in my head. It used to be music to my ears, the same laugh I’ve dreamt and wished to hear again after so long.
“Mother.”
CHAPTER 13
----
A/N: Gosh, this was so long, almost more than half of the chapters I usually write. I had to go through it though since I don’t want this story to go longer than 16 chapters. Anyway, enjoy!

Mafia!NCT 127 Reaction to You Coloring Their Tattoos
Hyuck + Mark in the Dream Reaction
not proofread yet
[ posted 09 / 10 / 2020 ]
Taeyong
He had no hesitation letting you color his tattoos. "Have fun, babe." He pinched your cheek and relaxed under the big tree you were both sitting under. Today was a cool and relaxing day as Taeyong had thrown all his plans away to be with you all day.
The dragon on his bicep was now stained in hues of purple and green with accents of neon yellow creeping up his shoulder. "So, besides today, how have you been lately?" His gaze swayed from you to the inside of his eyelids as he was drifting to sleep slowly. "Okay, I suppose. Work is annoying." You laughed and his heart twinged with love. "My students are definitely taking advantage of the wedding to slack off with their work." You chuckled and Taeyong took notice of the cool metal ring that laid on your left hand. It had never looked more magical than right now. The wedding was a fairytale story to think about in another time and place. It was the talk of the town. There wasn’t a reason the students shouldn’t be talking about it.
"They're kids. They're going to goof off for a while." He laughed and looked down at his arm. The color stuck inside the lines and stained your hands wildly. Your yawn brought his attentive eyes to your sleepy frame. "Tired, already?" He laughed as you could only shrug with a sheepish grin stuck on your face.
"Come here. Let's just rest for a little bit then." He pushed the markers into the grass and his arm wrapped itself around your waist as he pulled you down and into his side. You couldn't fight it as your ear was filled with the sound of his mellowing heartbeat. His fingers danced in your hair and danced along the curves of your cheekbones till he knew you were fast asleep.
He stayed awake just looking at your angelic features as the sight of his multi-colored arm shifted his focus. It was so meaningless to you but he loved it as he knew that it came from your heart and mind.
It was you-- perfect.
Taeil
"If I have to sit through one more of these stupid underboss meetings then I swear I'm going to go ballistic-" Taeil cut you off with a laugh. "I don't want caviar and fancy fish with wine! I want chicken nuggets shaped like dinosaurs with a coke!" You whined as he walked in the bedroom, one hand shoving the dress shirt underneath the hem of his dress pants.
"I know, cutie. Just a couple more meetings this week then I promise I'll take a week off and we can go and take a vacation." He pulled your hands and guided you to the bathroom where an elegant dress hung on the hooks of the door. Matching with Taeil was something you looked forward to with events like these. Yet, the event itself was throwing you off.
You got dressed and stared at yourself in the mirror. The thin red spaghetti straps danced on your shoulders as it contrasted with your dark black tattoos. The heels were uncomfortable as they carried you through the door and to the base meeting house.
You sat between Taeil and Johnny who decided to come alone and without his wife. 'lucky bitch' you thought. Taeil's hand protectively gripped the inside of your thigh. The stares of the foreign feeling underbosses littered across the room. Their aura made a shiver go down your spine as Taeil read out the news from Neo Culture's territory.
Your hand rested on top of his as your thoughts drowned out your husband's usually sweet voice. You traced the tattoos on his hand lightly with your finger. You grabbed an extra pen from Johnny's seat place and started to add onto Taeil's tattoos. The red and blue inks clashed with each other even though they laid right by one another.
Taeil gripped your wrist harshly to get you to stop but the spiteful feeling sparked in your head. You grabbed his hand with your other hand and forced it on your lap. You continued drawing and coloring the shapes and words with a vengeful attitude coursing through your veins.
A break was reached and all the underbosses were dismissed from the meeting room to the dining room where food was going to be served. Yet, once the room was cleared he grabbed your wrists once more. "What the hell are you doing?"
You automatically started to pout as you deemed that this wasn't fun anymore. "I was just trying to get your attention." You mumbled as you got up and walked out of the big wooden doors. Taeil sighed and took a deep breath. He looked down to see hearts of blue and red around your initials he had tattooed on his thumb. Tiny cartoon characters danced across his hand and he realized he was overreacting.
He got up to go after you and caught you walking slowly to the dining room. He came up behind you and slipped a hand on your lower hip. "I'm sorry, baby." Taeil sighed and kissed your cheek warmly.
You shook your head and leaned into him. "No, I shouldn't have kept going when you said to stop. I'm sorry." You confided as you both turned into the room where everyone was already seated. "Here, how about this," he whispered. "Eat a little bit of food then me and you can go out for burgers after everyone leaves." He said and the look on your face gave him the energy to get through the next hour and a half.
"Really?" You asked and he nodded. You grabbed his face and gently kissed his cheek. "Now you have my seal of approval." You laughed as you rubbed the faint mark of lipstick off of his face.
You sat down ready to shove down the nasty fish eggs and wine that was about to be served.
Johnny
Nobody understood how Johnny got you to be his wife. Everyone thought that the differences would've drowned out the connection. Yet, anybody who doubted was silenced when they spent an hour with you both. The strongness of Johnny seemed minimalized whenever you walked into the room. It was quite magical.
You and Johnny sat on the 127 squad jet, bound towards New York where you both would be staying for 3 months for protection. The family was threatened with the wives and partners coming under the harshest threats.
Johnny took you and didn't look back. You were working an 18-hour shift at the hospital and he came with no warning. Just grabbed you and left.
Jaehyun and his wife were on the way to Connecticut while Mark and his girlfriend were on their way to New York too. Johnny, Mark, and Jaehyun were to meet in New York in their respective spaces to set out a plan of action. After that, Mark would spend a month in New York, then go up to Toronto, spending his last months in Vancouver. Johnny is splitting the trip up into half in New York, the rest in Chicago. Jaehyun was taking his chances by staying in Connecticut. Yet, he said he wouldn't hesitate running West if needed.set out a plan of action. The sudden news threw you off guard.
You sat with Johnny in the back of the plane in dead silence. "I'm scared." You admitted. "Why?" He asked as he turned his phone off and threw it on the table in front of both of you.
You curled up on the couch next to him, latching onto his arm protectively. "Nothing is going to happen, sweetie." He came up to twirl your hair calmly as your heart started to race more. It was too quiet.
"Here, let's find something to do." He sighed and stood up, rummaging through the closets and storage of the plane. In a moment he returned with a pack of markers. "No paper." He frowned and sat back down with a tired sigh.
You reached forward to bring the thin cardboard box into your hands. You felt his hand rest on the small of your back as you pulled the markers out and twirled them in-between your fingers.
You looked to him to see his head leaned back and eyes shut. You grabbed his suit jacket and tugged. His head snapped up and it took him a minute to understand what you were getting at. "Oh." He sighed and shook the material off of his torso.
A simple t-shirt had been hidden underneath his blazer as you laid your eyes on his tattoos. He didn't have any hesitation as he rolled up his already short sleeves and got comfortable.
He was preoccupied with his phone as you hummed to yourself. You traced the sunflower in green and made tie-dye art on his forearms. Johnny was content with the silence and the fact he knew that you were okay and occupied.
"Wanna listen to some music, babe?" He asked as he opened his music app. "Duh." He clicked the playlist you had made for him and laughed as he watched you sing terribly into the marker. He studied your figure and facial expressions as you got caught up in coloring again. "This dragon is now going to have whiskers." You nodded but stopped quickly. "Or a mustache?" You looked at Johnny and he shrugged. "He'd look cute with some whiskers." You took the idea and plopped whiskers on the face of the dragon.
An associate who tagged along for the trip came into the back room with refreshments for the two of you. You both gladly accepted and were left alone again. "Gummy bears?" These are perfect. He threw the package at you but it went untouched as you kept drawing.
He could only laugh to himself as he opened the package for you and pulled a singular bear out. Johnny held it to your lips and was happy to you take it without much thought. You finally were happy with your artistic decisions and showed Johnny the finished piece.
"It's so nice, y/n!" He smiled and it felt like your brain was mush. You sat next to him with a content smile and a small yawn.
"Tired already?" at which you could only shrug as a response. "Then let's just watch some videos and relax." He kicked his feet up and pulled you so you were on his lap.
Johnny's phone played random videos as you latched onto him and went to sleep. He took some photos to set as his wallpaper and ultimately decided to join you in a nice nap.

Yuta
"Yuta!" You called as you stepped into the large house. "I believe he's in the gazebo or his office, Miss." One of the worked associates greeted you at the front door. He grabbed the bags from your arms as you bowed politely. "Thank you so much." You were off towards the back of the house to find your husband.
"Yuta-!" You called as you rounded the corner of the house and into the back yard. The gazebo that laid just beyond the wood bridge that sat above the koi fish river-- was empty. You stopped and stared for a moment. You were sure that this is where he'd be.
"Up here, my love." A voice made you jump as you looked up to see Yuta at his office balcony. "Oh. Hi!" You waved as his eyes squinted in a smile. "How was your day out?" He asked as he brought his teacup up to his lips. "It was wonderful! I have something to show you!" You called and held up a small shopping bag in your hand. "I'll be right up!" You raced back into the house and up the stairs to where he already stood waiting for you in the doorway to his office.
"What's so amazing that you found today?" His eyebrow raised and you opened the bag quickly. "But first-" He interrupted you as he grabbed your face gently and gave you a passionate kiss. "What's this for?" You asked as he continued to stare at your face lovingly. "Just happy to see you is all." He smiled as his hands found their way into his pockets.
"Now, show me." He motioned to one of your hands that was stuck in the bag you held. You were brought back to reality and pulled the plastic package out of the bag.
"...Markers?" He asked and his tone of voice made you laugh. "Not just any markers. They're tattoo markers. They're safe for the skin." You corrected him and he rolled his eyes. "You're still on this?" Yuta asked with an amused expression. "Of course I am! This was the deal." You said shoving them into his hands so he could inspect the box.
He read the back and he had to admit...you were right.
"You said I could color your tattoos IF I found tattoo markers. Safe for the skin and everything!" He knew you did it...and that he had to hold up his part of the deal. "Okay fine." He sighed as he handed the package back. "Yay! Thank you!" You jumped and laid a gentle kiss on his cheek.
"We can do it later before dinner." He agreed and watched you skip happily down the hall.
---- "Finally! You take forever." You sighed as you moved your sunglasses up your nose. The grass tickled your bare legs as Yuta sat next to you. "I couldn't help it. Taeyong didn't want to hang up the phone." You stood on your knees and moved behind Yuta. Your hands gently rubbed his shoulders as his head fell in an exasperated manner.
"I hate to burst your bubble, Yuta. But, I called you out here for the deal. Not a massage." He whined as he flopped down on the grass, his t-shirt lifting on his back. His head rested on his folded arms as you silently cheered.
"If this stains, I will make sure to throw out all color in your life. Your life will be a dull kaleidoscope-" "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever you say, you big baby." You laughed and opened your pouch full of the tattoo markers.
You lifted the back of his shirt more till the full picture was revealed. A full mural was printed on his back with black ink that curved and straightened out into different objects. A dragon with demons following was the full picture...a dark reality...that you were going to make colorful.
You sat on his lower back and got to work filling in the different parts of the dragon. Every once in awhile he would spasm and try to make you mess-up. Yet, with a tug on his hair, he would become limp and obedient again.
"I'm almost done." Was the phrase that almost made him weep with joy. "Finally." He let it slip and he felt a tug on his hair again. "Ow." He rubbed his head. He could feel you draw and move the felt-tipped weapons on his back.
"Finished." You cheered and grabbed his phone to take a picture. You showed it to him and ombre scaled decorated the dragon with the demon's faces were colored red and blue. It looked nice. He saw a couple of smiley faces hidden in there and felt like everything looked complete.
"Okay, my turn now!" He yelled and grabbed your arm. He pulled you to the ground and grabbed the black marker that was in your hand. "Yuta, no." You tried fighting him. "This wasn't apart of the deal." You thrashed but he pinned you under his body weight. "Excuse me? Sorry, I don't speak Japanese." His Korean rambled off quickly from his tongue. You decided to just deal with it as he took his time drawing a mustache on your face along with random doodles he could think of.
He finally stopped his antics and took a picture with his phone to look at afterward. "You look so cute, look!" He pulled up the picture and shoved it in your face. "I look gross man!" You ridiculed but he wrapped you up in his arms quickly,
"My gross man."
Doyoung
"I thought they were going to be here already." You whined as your head hit the wall behind you. "Oh, can you stop whining for once?" He groaned as he took off his bulletproof vest. The air seemed to be getting thinner as the seconds ticked past. He stretched his legs out so they touched the opposite wall of the tiny bank vault. The velvet flooring seemed sticky as it felt like your chest was getting heavier.
You stood up and went to the closed door. Kicking and banging seemed like the only viable option. You pounded and kicked as hard and as much as you could with no luck. Tears stained your eyes as you turned around to look for another option out of here. "It's getting smaller." You whispered and Doyoung took the opportunity. "You're right, y/n. I can feel the walls pushing in!" He yelled and started to thrash and roll around on the ground. You could swear that the walls were shrinking and coming closer together. You dropped to the floor with your hands over your head, ready to be crushed by the vault walls.
Doyoung was pissed and vengeful in the beginning but now he just felt bad. You sat there silently crying as you rocked yourself back and forth. Doyoung sat opposite of you and just stared, waiting for you to snap out of it, yet, there was no hope as he watched you bring your legs closer to your chest.
He pushed your shoulder and you backed away from him quickly. "Calm down. You're wasting our air." He deadpanned. You could only nod and wipe the tears away from your eyes.
"Wanna play tic-tac-toe?" He asked and you looked around, surprised he was asking in a moment like this. "Um-" He didn't wait for an answer and grabbed your legs-- pulling you closer to where he sat.
Doyoung reached into your vest you were wearing and pulled an assortment of permanent markers out. You wiped the rest of your tears and grabbed the orange marker out of his hand. He lifted the sleeve of his long shirt and created the grid in black ink. "Wanna go first?" He asked and you took the opportunity to land an 'X' in the grid.
He followed soon after you and in no time-- he won.
Another game and another and another till no space was left. An hour had passed and you were still stuck in the bank vault.
"Fine. You win this tournament. But, I know I'll win next time." Doyoung said laying back and closing his eyes. The sweat from his bangs dripped down the side of his face.
The bottom of his shirt lifted and you could see the familiar black ink on his side. "Stop staring at me like that, pervert. I have rights." He pulled his shirt down and you let a laugh rip through your chest.
"Chill. I was just looking at your tattoo." You said and he shrugged. "What about 'em?" He asked as his eyes closed once more. "Nothing. Just looking," you sighed, "I wanted to be a tattoo artist before all of this." You motioned around the velvet interior. One eye peeked open and he looked suspiciously at your figure. "Are you any good?"
You stood on your knees and lifted your shirt so he could see the piece you were in the middle of finishing. Dragon and koi fish laid on your ribs in red ink.
"Woah." He lifted himself closer and gently touched the healing ink. "You did this yourself?" You nodded as he inspected it for a good minute.
"Give me one!" He said and shoved the red sharpie in your hand. He didn't give you time before laying on his side in a straight line. He lifted the side of his shirt and waited patiently.
You shrugged, finding nothing else better to do. He already had black ink staining his skin so you decided to add on. It was another simple dragon but it fit his character and personality perfectly.
Time seemed to slow as he tried to take a sneak peek of the masterpiece you were currently working on. He planned to take a picture later and get it done, yet, it would have to be in secret.
All of a sudden, the door popped open and cool air filled the small compartment. "Welcome back to Earth." Chenle greeted. You capped the marker and grabbed your vest as quickly as Doyoung.
You both high-tailed it out of the bank and into the street where the van was waiting with open doors. Doyoung and you jumped and rolled onto the back-ground of the van and the door was slammed shut by Jaehyun.
"Sorry about that. Jungwoo spilled Sprite on the control panel." Jaehyun explained and a guilty-looking Jungwoo sat in the passenger seat, not making eye contact.
"Woah. You got a new tattoo?" Jaehyun lifted Doyoung's shirt up more to see the red dragon you had drawn.
"Eventually."
(tf is this?? i’m not even correlating the gif with the story...because what in the actual fuck is THIS????)
~~~~~
Jaehyun
He was a very demanding man with particular tastes. You sat by yourself in your underground shop when a swarm of men came in all at once. They lead the way for a man in a sharp business suit.
I'm about to get shut down...aren't I?
He looked at you for a moment before looking around and coming towards you. "Are you the shop owner?" His voice was smooth with undertones of threatening. "Depends on who's asking," I answered honestly, "If it's for ink work or compliments: me. If you have any problems then I'll turn you over to my manager, Lucifer." You wiped down the glass counter in front of you. His chuckle rang sliced through the thick tension.
"Lucifer." You sang and made kissy noises. A long black haired cat hopped onto the glass counter next to you, hissing at the men and laying on its back. His back stretched as his paws grew long and pointy nails only for a moment. "Oh be nice, Luci." You called and picked the cat up in your arms.
"So how can we help you today?" You smiled and the man looked at you and sighed. "This will do." He called over his shoulder and you heard a bang of your shop door. Men walked around you to your workroom and began going through your papers. "Do you have any affiliations with any gangs in the local or surrounding areas?" The man asked as you dropped the cat onto the glass.
"No." You blurted and it was met with a smile. "Well, you have caught the interest of Neo Culture-" "Oh hell no." You shook your head and came around the counter. You pointed towards the staircase that was capped with the 'exit' door. "Leave." You demanded, yet, he stood still.
"I don't think you understand how this works." His smile made you shiver. "You were picked. You can't just...refuse." He motioned to the room. "You are on Neo Culture property and territory. You will work for us in exchange for a pretty...hefty amount of cash-" "And a bullet in my head if another gang comes by?" You questioned with your arms crossed over your chest. "Well, you don't need to worry about that till they show up...do you?" His reasoning made you angry.
"I just want a simple fill-in today. And if you do well, then you'll be taken care of." He went into his coat pocket and pulled out a stack of paper. "Rent, bills, groceries, and spending money. Not to mention guaranteed protection from the most feared crime family in the Asiatic continent." He smiled as he handed over the piece of paper.
You looked at it and it was of a dragon that needed to be shaded and filled in. You knew that you needed to do this...or say bye-bye to your shop and dreams.
You sighed and looked at Lucifer who sat grooming himself.
"It's all clear, sir." One of the men popped his head out of the back curtain. The man smiled at you and stuck out his hand. "Do we have a deal?" He asked and you regretted the decision as you felt your hand reach itself out in front of you. "Deal." You sighed and you lead him back to the workroom.
He made himself comfortable as he draped his jacket across the waiting chair and unbuttoned the bottom of his shirt. He lifted his business shirt until a blank tattoo was shown on the front section of his ribs.
You got yourself ready off of what the paper described. Black and red shading with a black streak thrown across the dragon's eyes. 1-2-7 was bent across the dragon's stomach as 5 stars surrounded the head of the dragon mimicking a crown.
"Lucifer. Out." You called and the cat meow'd before walking out of the curtain. "Want to listen to music while I work?" You asked and he shook his head 'no' as he preoccupied himself on his phone.
You worked quickly and efficiently as he didn't dare look at your work.
2 hours went by and you were done. "Finished." You said standing up and disposing of the used needles. He stood up and looked into the body-length mirror on the other side of the room. "Woah." Was all you heard.
"This is good work." He said and you awkwardly smiled while coming closer to him with saniderm and healing gel. "Take off the saniderm underwater, so I suggest a shower and apply the gel gently. Change the saniderm at the same time tomorrow then after that you can wait up to 6 days after to change." You explained as you rubbed the gel on the tattoo and stuck a big square of saniderm on his torso.
"Why, thank you,-" "y/n." You cut him off and you could see him smile as you turned away.
"Nice name." He smiled, "Thanks...I guess." You shrugged. "Well, some other members will be in for some days to come. Money has already been left under your counter." He redressed as you cleaned up your station.
"I hope to see you soon, y/n." He smiled and walked off in an eerie aura. You heard your shop door open and close.
You rested your hands on your counter and let a huge sigh escape your chest. Meow.
You looked over to see Lucifer peeking his head in.
"I know. He was really weird."
(back tf up?? in the middle of a pandemic??)
Jungwoo
"Stop running away from me you tree!" You leaped from the couch and onto your boyfriend's back. "No! You'll never catch me!" He tried to shake you off of him, yet, you latched onto him as tight as you could.
"Damn your koala grip." He tried to swing his body around and throw you to the ground. Your hands went to cover his eyes as you began to panic. "Quit moving so fast!" You pleaded and he stopped abruptly. You scrambled off of his back and just sat with your legs outstretched on the floor.
You looked up at him with a look that could kill. "Just let me have fun." You pushed yourself off the floor and pointed a finger in his face. "You can. Just not on me." He moved your hand away from his face.
You groaned and sat on the couch in a huff. "You're no fun, Woo." You muttered and he couldn't help but smile at your pouty nature.
"Sure. Whatever you say, cutie." He said excusing himself down the hall. You heard the door to the bedroom close and you were left alone. You were going to color those damn tattoos even if it killed you. You turned on the TV and watched some shows. 40 minutes had passed and you knew that Jungwoo had to be asleep.
You snuck to the closet by the kitchen and threw the door open to find the bucket of markers. You grabbed your favorite out of the selection and were off down the hall.
The door was silent as you swung it open quickly. Jungwoo laid passed out on top of the sheets. His arms were folded underneath his head as you watched his chest rise and fall slowly...in a serene manner...but it was too calm. Chaos and fun were needed.
Tip-toeing was your best option as you swiftly made yourself over. You watched his eyes roam the inside of his eyelids as you realized he was completely knocked out.
You crawled on your space of the bed and uncapped the marker with a slight struggle. The pop made Jungwoo's eyelids squeeze and release quickly.
Your heart was filled with a mischievous attitude as you softly traced along the stars that were placed on his inner bicep. Pinks and oranges were plopped onto his skin as he laid unconscious.
A couple of cartoon characters and messages later you were bored. "Guess you are right. I really do have the mind of a goldfish." You mused quietly as you closed the marker and shoved them off the bed.
You laid across Jungwoo's torso and rolled onto him so he could wake-up. "It's like watching a toddler, I swear." He groaned as he grabbed you and didn't let go.
"I could've sworn that coloring would've kept you busy for at least an hour." He sighed and you just looked at him as if he had grown 5 heads. "I'm not stupid, y/n. Don't look at me like that." Jungwoo laughed and pinched your cheek.
He held onto your waist with one arm as he examined what you had drawn on the other. "Awe they're so cute." He mused and you looked at your work once more.
"Can I get a tattoo?" You asked and he only looked at you. "Do what you feel is right, but please...please think it through." He sighed and held onto you with both hands.
"Deal."
mafia!nct : you ask for a divorce.
▹ a/n : hello, thank you for your request! I hope it’s what you were expecting, my requests are always open so don’t be afraid to ask for something ♡.♡
▹ I was too lazy to write for all of the members so I only wrote for taeyong, taeil, johnny, yuta, kun, doyoung, ten, jaehyun, and jungwoo.
▹ triggers : mafia themes, toxic relationships, mentions of abuse, no smut but a little suggestive for some members
「 Taeyong 」 :
As soon as the words 'I want a divorce.' slipped past your lips you were immediately overcome with fear and regret. You worried that maybe you'd gone to far...Taeyong's lack of a reaction didn't help to ease your nerves either. He sat there at the opposite end of your dining table, stoic and tethered. He was the image of placidity.
“Now what makes you think I’d ever agree to something like that?” Taeyong announced as he took a sip from his glass of wine.
You wanted to fire back and tell him it wasn’t just up to him but you could tell you’d already dug yourself into a hole and you wanted to smooth things over as best you could.
Taeyong didn’t bother to wait for a response sensing you had recognized your own error in believing you could ever confront him with a divorce, despite how much freedom Taeyong tried to grant you it was no secret to either of you who was the leader in this relationship and you weren’t getting a divorce anytime soon unless Taeyong granted it.
“Be a good girl and accept the way that things are, your home is here with me, don’t forget that.”
「 Taeil 」 :
You were sitting on the edge of the bed, your hands neatly folded in your lap. Your left knee was bouncing uncontrollably due to how anxious you were feeling. You sat there, playing out the different possible scenarios that could happen in your head. You knew that Taeil would be upset once you told him that you were wanting a divorce, you just couldn’t predict how angry he would be. Was it even worth telling him? You wondered if you should just up and leave and tell him after you’ve already left the house. You couldn’t bring yourself to do that, despite the problems you were currently having in your marriage you still loved Taeil and weren’t actively seeking to cause him pain.
“What’s wrong my love? Why are you crying?”
Your head snapped up to look in the direction of the bathroom door, there stood Taeil standing in the doorway, covered in tiny droplets of water from his shower with a look of concern on his face. You’d been so engrossed in your own thoughts that you hadn’t heard the water of the shower cut off, and you hadn’t realized that tears began to cascade down your cheeks. Instinctively, Taeil began to cross the room to console you but you quickly put your hands out in front of you to block him.
“I want a divorce.”
Your words seemed to hang in the air between the two of you. The energy in your bedroom suddenly felt uncomfortable and stuffy, you wanted to run and hide away but you felt frozen. You couldn’t take your eyes off of Taeil, you couldn’t distinguish an emotion, he seemed numb and emotionless. Taeil took a step closer towards you, closing the tiny gap between you. You fought the urge to flinch away from him as his hand raised, only for him to gently cup your cheek. You felt confused, why was he being affectionate after you’d just asked for a divorce? He leaned down and placed a soft kiss to the top of your head, tiny droplets of water from his wet skin dropped on you as he pulled away.
“You should get some rest my love, I don’t think you’re feeling well.” Taeil stated casually as he proceeded to finish getting dressed as if you had never even brought up a divorce.
「 Johnny 」 :
“Divorce?” Johnny echoed, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
You felt yourself grow more and more annoyed, “Yes Johnny, a divorce. I’m tired of living like this with you. I want to break up.” You stated confidently.
Johnny chuckled, leaning back in his office chair as he stared back at you with a playful grin, “Living like what? Have I not treated you well? Have I not given you everything you could possibly want?”
“I don’t care about those things Johnny. I want a real marriage, and a regular life. You can’t give me either of those things.” You answered, folding your arms across your chest. Johnny stood from his chair to circle around his desk to come face to face with you, his imposing height made you want to shrivel up but you stood your ground, not moving or fidgeting around. Johnny circled around you, snaking his arms around your waist and pulling your back flush against his chest. He rested his head in the crook of your neck as he inhaled your scent. You felt a chill run through your body as he tightened his grip on your waist.
“Don’t make it all sound bad Y/N…in areas I lack I make up for in other places, don’t I?” Johnny chuckled, his hands traveled from your hips up to your chest, his large hands kneaded your soft flesh through your clothes.
Johnny pressed a soft kiss to your exposed neck before whispering, “Who else are you going to find that can fuck you the way that I do?”
「 Yuta 」 :
The second you had mentioned a divorce to Yuta he grew extremely angry. He was angry and upset that you could even suggest something so preposterous, his anger had quickly turned to desperation and he felt himself scrambling to keep you close, no matter how extreme his methods seemed. First, he started off with assigning an additional guard to guard you at all times, he reasoned that it was for your safety but you knew that it was solely just so that he could keep tabs on you when he had to be away. Slowly over time, Yuta grew more controlling and possessive, you couldn’t leave the room without Yuta questioning where you’d been. When Yuta took a look at your bank statement is when he completely flew off the handle, he saw charges where you’d spent money on a divorce lawyer’s retainer fee. After that Yuta cut off all of the contact you had with the outside world.
“Don’t cry now Y/N, it was you who put yourself in this position, wasn’t it?” Yuta sighed as pecked your cheek.
“Yuta, let me go!” You yelled as you fought against your restraints. Your hands and feet were bound to the bed, keeping you from moving anywhere without the ropes rubbing your skin raw.
“I’m afraid that I can’t do that my love, had you not tried to abandon me so heartlessly you wouldn’t be tied to the bed right now. You have no one to blame but yourself.” Yuta replied.
“So that’s it? Your plan is to keep me tied to this bed forever? That’s not a marriage Yuta, this isn’t okay!” You said, hopeful that your words wouldn’t fall on deaf ears.
Yuta placed one last kiss to your lips before covering your mouth with a strip of tape, “I’ll keep you here until you remember why we got married in the first place, until you remember just how much you love me.”
“No matter how long it takes.”
「 Kun 」 :
You spent weeks going back and forth over whether or not you should approach Kun with the idea of a divorce. You knew that Kun was levelheaded and relatively docile enough when dealing with you that you didn't have cause to fear bringing it up to him but you still could never be sure. You ultimately decide to wait it out as long as you could, during this time you became detached and unlike yourself. You thought you were doing a good job of hiding it but Kun knew you better than that and was the first to notice.
"What's bothering you Y/N?" Kun asked one night as you were crawling into bed beside him. You were startled by his question, had you been so transparent with your feelings?"
Why have you become so distant?" Kun questioned, taking one of your hands in his.
"I'm not happy...I think that we should get a divorce." You whispered softly.
You could visibly see Kun tense up. Kun had long since recognized that you had certain resetvations about his line of work, but he never imagined that you'd actually go so far as suggesting a divorce.
"I can't accept that Y/N. We took vows, I meant it when I said till' death do us part."
「 Doyoung 」 :
“Do I not give you everything you need?” Doyoung asked, his eyes never leaving the newspaper in his hands.
You felt so confident and assertive just a moment ago, but with each passing second you felt more and more small and insignificant. You fumbled over your words as you tried to calmly explain to Doyoung your reasonings for wanting a divorce. You couldn’t tell if he was actually listening and taking in everything that you were saying to him or just silently waiting for you to stop talking so that he could invalidate your feelings like he always seemed to do. Eventually, Doyoung folded the newspaper and set it down on the table to take a sip from his mug filled with coffee. Momentarily, his sharp gaze fell on you before falling to his wrist to check the time on his watch.
“Are you even listening to me?” You finally questioned, although you were fully aware of the answer.
Doyoung released a tired puff of air from his mouth before parting his lips to speak, “Of course I’m listening to you my love, but I’m waiting for you to give me a legitimate reasoning for a divorce. Everything you’ve told me just now is not a call for a divorce.”
“Doyoung, I’m not asking you for a divorce. I’ve thought about this for a long time and-
Doyoung abruptly stood from the table and grabbed his coat, “I’m your husband Y/N, not your boyfriend. Come and talk to me as your husband so that we can resolve this, for now I have work to do. Be here when I come back.”
「 Ten 」 :
As soon as you brought up a divorce Ten couldn’t help but laugh at you. Did you truly believe that he would just agree to a divorce no questions asked? It only made you even angrier to see him react so nonchalantly. Ten didn’t take you seriously, and you knew it was because he didn’t see you as his equal. You felt invalidated and fed up with being treated like your thoughts and opinions didn’t matter.
“Ten don’t laugh, I’m being serious-
“You can’t possibly be serious. You should know that I’d never agree to a divorce so easily. Why don’t you tell me what’s really bothering you instead of saying such silly things...”
“Because I never want to hear the words divorce come out of that pretty mouth again, understood?”
「 Jaehyun 」 :
With Jaehyun, you’re smart enough to know that he won’t just let you leave. You knew that he’d never try to actually hear what you had to say so there was no point in wasting your breath. Over the last few months you had slowly been preparing yourself to leave, you’d rented a apartment, making sure not to leave a paper trail for Jaehyun to follow. Jaehyun wasn’t keeping you captive or anything per say, but he was petty and if he knew you were trying to leave, he’d probably try to cancel your card or somehow freeze the money in your joint bank account. It wasn’t until you had left and were completely set up in your new apartment that you hired a lawyer to draw up your divorce papers and send them to Jaehyun. Just days after the letter had arrived in the mail at the house you and Jaehyun once shared, Jaehyun had popped up at your front door demanding an explanation.
“What is this shit Y/N? I thought you were just trying to get a reaction out of me when you rented this apartment, but you’re actually serious? You want a divorce?” Jaehyun asked in disbelief.
“Jaehyun…I’ve been trying to tell you for months. You knew this was coming-
“How should I have known my fucking wife would pick up and leave me out of nowhere?” Jaehyun asked angrily as he advanced further into your apartment.
“Save us both the trouble and just sign the papers so we can go our separate ways. Don’t make this harder than it has to be-
Jaehyun pushed you against the wall, his hands caught a quick grasp of your wrists to pin you in place.
“Don’t let your newfound independence make you forget who it is you married Y/N. I’m not a man to be toyed with, I’m your husband and I’m telling you that a divorce isn’t an option.”
「 Jungwoo 」 :
Jungwoo would be appalled to hear the words divorce leave your lips. To him it felt unprovoked and as if it had come out of nowhere, but for you it had been brewing for months. You’d spent what felt like an eternity waiting for things between the two of you to get better only for you to be disappointed each time. You tried to talk with Jungwoo about the things that were bothering you but he always seemed to give you empty promises. Jungwoo knew he had his flaws and he knew that he could be a better husband to you but he was offended to see you so ready to throw your entire marriage away so carelessly. Was it not worth it to stay and stick it out? Had you fallen out of love with him him?
“Don’t be so careless Y/N. You’re my wife, and I’m at war right now. Regardless of how you may feel towards me, here by my side is where you’ll be safest.” Jungwoo stated firmly.
You knew that he’d try and use that as an excuse to not agree to a divorce, it didn’t matter to Jungwoo even if he wasn’t at war there was no way he’d ever amicably agree to a divorce.
“How can that possibly be true Jungwoo, you’re one of the most violent people I know. You’re surrounded by danger and chaos, I’m better off taking my chances out there away from you.” You retorted.
“That may be a chance that you’re willing to take, but I’m not. You’ll stay here with me, safe and sound.”
Yangyang
A gamer who turned undercover agent. Taeyong found him, trying to hack his game in order for him to win. So for the first few months Yangyang was the hacker for Wayv, but he got bored and wanted to try new things. Now he became a undercover agent.
Shotaro
The second japanese member of the group. It seems like this cute boy can't do anything wrong, but when needed he can manipulate you into telling everything he wants to know.
Sungchan
One of the tallest in the family is actually a hacker. Before joining NCT, he was a hacktivist, hacking into different governance systems. No he changed his way, to help his members.
NCT MAFIA AU (doyoung)
🖇Leave every bottle as empty as my promises (pt.5)
MASTERLIST
PARTS: | 01 | 02 | 03 | 04 | 05 |
MAFIA PROFILES | Y/N’S NAMES
GENRE: Mafia AU, Arranged marriage AU, Rival sides, Angst
QUOTE: “Doyoung’s tongue felt heavy in his mouth. He did care, he cared so much. All the things he wished he could do over, all the things he wished he could change.”
WARNINGS: Graphic scenes of violence, Blood, Drugs, Misunderstanding
“Do you think Doyoung sees you any differently? You were together for how many years? Did he ever show you that he cared?”
Shujin left the room, his jaw fixed. Your glared followed him, a prickling in your eyes. You sniffed, wiping dry your cheeks.
“You’re just another stupid girl.”
Shujin’s words shouldn’t have cut so deeply, but you’d be lying had you said they didn’t. For a split moment at the hospital, you had wavered, you had foolishly imagined there was a chance for the both of you.
You stood back to your feet, rubbing the burnt flesh which had been scolded during the ordeal.
You weren’t wrong in assuming Shujin was on edge, impatient even. He never did dare to lay a hand on you. He was unraveling. Something had changed. Something that threatened the one thing he cared about... his reign over the South.
You peered back at the door, it remained shut just as Shujin had slammed it. He never did allow you to step foot in his study without his presence. You strode towards his desk, examining the documents he had left idling out of order. A half empty cup of coffee was abandoned lying on top of newspaper weeks old. You lifted the creased paper, smoothing it between you thumb and index finger. The front headline wrote in bold letter’s ‘Kingpin’s undead daughter returns’.
You mouth dried as you continued reading.
The rumors of the last living mafia princess went dismissed for many years. However, all the speculation has come to a head. Euna has made her long awaited return to the family business. The young girl is the remaining heir to the infamous kingpin Silas who once ruled over this entire country with his iron fist. Sources claim the girl was raised out of the spotlight until she was ready to reclaim her birthright. This marks as a new era for the mafia families. Uneasy times lie ahead for the four leaders who took over the territories after her families' brutal demise. Will they bend the knee or stand against her?
You traced the black and grey photograph taken of the young girl in a school uniform. A scarf was tied around her neck, underneath would have laid her scars.
Your hands absently went to fiddle with the diamond necklace which was no longer around your neck. Your grandfather had never gone into depth about how he came into power or what came of those who ruled before. You lived in blissful ignorance until the day your drunken father had left slip your necklace belonged to a dead girl.
No wonder Shujin was pushing his relationship with you. This Euna held a greater claim to the South than either you and Shujin. He was gathering his chest pieces to go on an offensive.
Your thoughts drifted to Doyoung and his boss the Northern kingpin Taeyong. They would be feeling this threat too. Doyoung’s sudden change of heart wasn’t because you had left. He needed you, more accurately he needed your claim over the South.
“Miss,” One of Shujin’s soldier knocked on the door. Harrison entered his boots clunking against the floors. “Shujin has instructed me to escorted you back to your room.”
You nodded obediently. The two of you walked in silence. You had known Harrison since you were about forteen. His eldest daughter attended a college you use to lecture at, a time before your linguistics position at the museum.
He pushed your bedroom door ajar for you to step through.
“Harrison?” You spoke up.
“Yes, miss.”
You nudged your head in the direction of your room, instructing him to follow. He glanced about the halls before stepping inside.
“It is best we do not speak today, I have rounds in an about an hour.” Harrison switched to his native tongue of portuguese.
“This is urgent,” You insisted, you portuguese rusty. You walked towards the windows to shut the blinds.
Harrison listened to what you had discovered, his face remaining unchanged.
You eyed him, “You knew that Silas’ daughter had returned?”
“It was reported in the news weeks ago,”
“And you didn’t think to inform me?” You demanded.
“I wanted to wait until Shujin’s divulged his plan.”
You pinched the bridge of your nose. Harrison had been spying in the barracks for you. Your grandfather’s soldiers old and new seemed to share a dislike for Shujin. Afterall, Shujin lacked leadership, overspent funds, and had a knack of humiliating the soldiers.
You had thought you could use their dislike to your advantage. Harrison continued to report to you, allowing you to make subtle efforts to win over the soldiers yourself.
“What is Shujin’s plan then?”
“Euna is currently in the red snake Taeyong’s grasp.” Harrison rubbed the back of his head, “Rumors speak of a wedding by the end of the month.”
“Wedding?” You inquired.
If Taeyong was to wed Silas’ daughter, he’d have the rightful claim over all the territories.
“Shujin desires to invade the North before then. I suppose he’s going to try and kill the girl.”
Your eyes enlarged, not believing what you had heard. “That is insanity. He’ll start an all-out war.”
“He’s fixed on the idea.”
“Still, it makes no sense.” You struggled to warp your head around it. “Taeyong will only retaliate, it’s not like Shujin’s forces are any greater than his.”
Harrison sighed, “It’s just what I heard.”
───
The wind’s howl grew only more fearsome.
“I’m sorry Doyoung I’m not going back to you.”
The silence between you both lasted for what felt like an entirety.
“What do you mean?” Xiaojun broke the silence, “We’ve been planning on getting you out of the South for weeks.”
“It isn’t safe here,” Yangyang added, his brows furrowed as he turned to Doyoung’s direction.
“Y/N,” Doyoung finally addressed you.
“I’m not going back to the North with you.”
“Y/N,” He tried again, the desperation in his voice growing. “I know I haven’t treated you right in the past but just give me the change to explain.”
“Explain?” You straightened you back, wiping away the excess moisture from your eyes. I can do this, you told yourself.
“We were married for over a year, I tried so hard to make this work.” You indicated between you and Doyoung with your finger, “I’d wait days, sometimes weeks on end hoping you’d just come home.”
“I know-,”
“You didn’t care.” You cut off, “You never cared.” Your voice deflated.
Doyoung’s tongue felt heavy in his mouth. He did care, he cared so much. All the things he wished he could do over, all the things he wished he could change.
“Please we can sort this out, Y/N please.”
A siren blared in the distance, Xiaojun stiffened. “You can sort this out later.” He interrupted, “First we need to get you both over the border.”
You shook your head, as the sirens grew louder.
Doyoung studied your eyes, your refusal growing stronger. Doyoung would spend a lifetime apologizing for his past. No matter how much you resented him now, he still couldn’t allow you to stay here with Shujin.
Doyoung’s demeanor shifted, he yanked your wrist, pulling you roughly towards him.
“Doyoung!”
He ignored your cries, “Yangyang, lead us the way. We’re getting out of here.”
“I’m not going with you.” You twisted and turned.
───
Past.
Doyoung’s lungs screamed as his legs protested. He ran as far as his small frame could bear. She was hunting him. Like a ghost in the night, spooking her prey.
At twelve, Doyoung had, had a miserable existence. He was in an out of foster homes without a lick of stability. He had corrections for shoplifting, carjacking, and a criminal file thicker than any other kid his age.
“There you are,” She taunted from the shadows.
Doyoung swiveled his head around. There she was, her back slanted on the bricks.
“I didn’t hear anything,” Doyoung’s pleas were drowned by her laughter.
He had overheard her. In fact, he had seen her exchange a wad of cash for a hit. A hit against her husband and child.
She strode closer, her high boots clicking across the concert. “Now, now don’t be scared. It'll be over quickly, well as long as you don’t resist.”
Doyougn stumbled backward, tripping over his feet and falling to the ground. She twirled a boxcutter between her fingers before lining it against his throat.
“It’s nothing personal. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.” She pressed.
Doyoung’s squeezed his eyes shut waiting for what was to come.
“Doyoung!” Young Taeyong came charging, he threw a steel can which connected with her hand.
She dropped the boxcutter, her eyes fuming in Taeyong’s direction.
Doyoung watched as she reached for her belt, revealing a gun tucked beneath. She was going to shoot. Doyoung’s hand found the boxcutter which had fallen in his lap, he wrapped his fingers against its plastic handle. He thrust the rusted blade into her arm. A terrible shriek came from her mouth. Doyoung’s second strike was to her neck, a spray of blood hitting his face.
Taeyong draged Doyoung. She collapsed, her body ridged.
The two of them stared over the lifeless woman.
Little did they know, they had just killed a wife from of one of the most powerful mafia families.
───
Present.
Doyoung’s grip grew tighter as he towed you along. You weighted your feet to no avail.
You swallowed. You had hoped it wouldn’t come to this. You dipped your free hand into the pocket your satin dress disguised. The syringe Harrison had given you would be enough to immobilize Doyoung for a couple of hours. You jabbed it into his bicep.
He hissed, “Y/N?” He’s sights fell on the syringe sticking out of his arm.
Both Yangyang and Xiaojun froze in disbelief.
You pried, Doyoung’s fingers off you pushing him towards Yangyang. Yangyang caught Doyoung as he went limp.
Doyoung’s eyelids threaten to close. “Y/N,” He slurred.
You took a shaky breath to compose yourself. “Get him across the border.” You demanded.
“You can’t possibly want to stay with Shujin?” Xiaojun reasoned.
You didn’t but if what Harrison had told you was true. Shujin was about to hurt hundreds of people by declaring war. Your only chance to prevent the chaos Shujin was to cause was to persuade the Southern forces to follow you instead. However, you needed time to earn their trust. They wouldn’t easily follow a woman like yourself.
“I’ll fill you in after you get Doyoung out of here.” You promised.
Doyoung’s head sagged falling against Yangyang’s shoulder. He looked so helpless in such a state. You bent down, your finger brushing against his cheek. You shook youself out of it.
Lastly, you folded a letter and tucked into his leather jacket. The letter would relay the information about Shujin’s plans which Doyoung could pass on to his brethren. The North needed Doyoung, just as the South needed you.
“This our goodbye.” You stood back up.
You head lingered as you urged your feet to walk away.
───
Doyoung woke to a headache, his muscle’s contracting. He was in a room he no longer recognized. Taeyong and Winwin sat opposite the bed he lay upon. If they were here, it could have only meant he was back in the North.
A howl left his mouth.
Winwin came forward, Taeyong placed a hand on his chest to stop him from approaching.
“Let him be.”
Doyoung ripped the tangled sheets of his body.
You weren’t here.
He kicked the bedside table, tipping over the lamp. He took his anger out on anything and everything. His leather jacket which he had worn the night before hung around the back of a chair. He grabbed the chair with his jacket hauling it against the window. Glass shattered outward, the chair cracked and splintered as it collided with the ground. He didn’t care to look where his jacket landed.
You weren’t here.
He crumbled to the carpet, his knees curling against his chest.
MONI’S NOTE: Mafia Doyoung's fifth installment. I hope you all enjoy it. If you do, please consider reading the other member's parts. They are all a part of the same universe, and you may even notice some cross-over between them.
💌 • 10:52pm
“what... were you thinking?” mafiaboss!doyoung growled at you, fury straining his booming voice as his gaze locked in on your careless face.
despite returning from an incredibly successful heist, he was not the slightest bit pleased with what you did to achieve it. so displeased, in fact, that he just had to keep you from celebrating with the rest of the guys who were currently overjoyed at one-upping your rivals.
“i have no idea what you’re talking about, everything went according to plan, if not better,” you scoffed, confidently striding away from the infuriated man, sensing his anger increase as you sashayed towards the hidden entrance to your headquarters.
doyoung slammed the intricately-locked door behind the two of you, following close behind you, “you know exactly what i’m talking about, y/n - why’d you have to go and kiss kang yeonjun? he was our target’s son!” you finally turned to face him after he grabbed ahold of you by your wrist, “the only reason we went to that gala was for sabotage, not for fun and flirting!”
rolling your eyes, you answered him completely straightforward, “so what? i managed to get his prints on the putty i use for duplicating keys and stuff, while he started dancing with me, and he gave away bits of info that we only would’ve gotten by torturing mr kang’s bodyguards. i’m just glad that he was drunk enough not to question me whatsoever.”
the joyous smirk on your face was not making doyoung feel any better at being belittled by you, but he wasn’t done with your rebuttals just yet.
“ten and kun were extracting yeonjun’s fingerprints from his wine glass? jaehyun and i were meant to be collecting hostages? did you, somehow, forget that this mission had a plan? all you had to do was distract kang yeonjun, but of course, you had to take charge and disrupt everything.” he clearly wasn’t getting your attention with his words so he resorted to flailing his arms around in utter disbelief at your ignorance of his leadership and power.
“i don’t know why you’re so bothered!! everyone else thanked me for speeding up the process and getting it done a lot easier and with less suspicion - we literally got back here two hours before you scheduled, what’s your deal?” you snapped, your piercing stare causing doyoung to back away slightly.
this seemed to mess with something inside of him, and you could sense him letting his guard down, the intimidating front being replaced with a more defensive aura.
“i- i just, like, you know, uhhhh.... what if, oh! what if yeonjun wakes up tomorrow and remembers you, and, and, umm, falls in love with you? yeah! what if he got his dumb-rich dad to trace you down to find you - they’d see your connections, to neocity? aren’t you seeing the same dangers that i am??” at this point, doyoung seemed to be coming up with an excuse for himself, rather than for you.
confusion etched itself on your features from his strange, new, well, could you really call it a revelation?
“you and i know for a fact that that type of information is almost impossible to access by outsiders. i still don’t know why you care so much about this, so how about you get off my back and let me have fun the rest of the night instead of scolding me you for doing your job better than you can. we’ve been through rough times lately, and we all needed a win so just let me enjoy tonight, okay?”
after your dismissive outburst, you snatched your arm from doyoung’s grip, giving him a disgusted side-eye before storming into the first underground level of your headquarters.
behind your nonchalant façade, you held back the trembling tears that had surfaced from confronting the, usually, charming boy, but you couldn’t let your emotions take over after the ruthless way you treated him. you definitely didn’t want doyoung to see this side of you, at least, not yet.
“i wanted it to be me.”
the timid phrase was enough to halt your steps, and turn around to be faced with a sincere, regretful expression on your boss’ unbelievably handsome face. he closed the short distance between you two, taking your delicate hands in his rough, calloused ones.
“that’s the only reason why i’m being so critical of you and yeonjun. i wanted to be the one you drunkenly danced with all night, i wanted to be the one to make you ugly-laugh, i wanted to be the one you kissed. i-i like you, y/n,” his voice wobbled with a sense of uncertainty and spontaneity, and his anxious manner made you feel as if he was truly being honest with you.
it took you a while to process his confession, one that you’d been waiting for for months now, since you were too cowardly to do it yourself. but, it was now or never.
“doyoung, i… you do realise that i was acting? the whole time? i do all of it to deceive our enemies - nothing that i do with them could ever matter to me, i could only think of one person that i would want to share those moments with.”
you both stared at one another in awe, treasuring the feeling of your hands intertwined. doyoung rubbed his thumb against your palm, still seemingly nervous, “wait, does that mean…?”
“it means that i like you too, dumbass. damn, like, you’re really good at shooting, but you’re nothing when it comes to shooting your shot,” you tease, caressing his cheek and grinning at the giggling boy.
his face flamed a shade of ruby, yet he wasn’t even ashamed that you made him feel so flustered, “hey, shut up and let me kiss you.”
Taeyong-
Taeyong stood in silence, watching you. He came here often but this was the first time he had run into you ever since that day. He wanted to say something, he knew he should, but he also knew how things would end. If he could choose, he would rather stand here in silence and watch you, he hasn’t been this close to you for so long, he’s missed it dearly. Of course it was all just a fantasy, because once you turned around and noticed him, his heart sank.
You took a step but Taeyong moved with you. It was clear he wanted to say something, it had been months since you last spoke, since you last saw each other. You weren’t interested, but now that he had your attention you knew that you couldn’t just walk away. You took a breath, wiping away the last of your tears and held your head high.
“I don’t want to hear anything from you. So I am leaving, if you or your men follow me, I am calling the police.”
“Y/n… please just… I’m sorry…”
“You’re… you’re sorry…” You choked back tears. “You’re sorry. After everything that happened, after everything you did, you’re sorry. Is that all you can say?”
“I never meant for this to happen. You know-”
“No! No, I don’t know.” You were sobbing lightly. “You told me you were done. You promised me you would leave that life behind, for my sake, for our son’s sake. I believed you, I trusted you, and you lied to me.”
“I did leave, I did get out but-”
“But what? The danger and the drugs, you wanted it all back? You couldn’t live without it? I don’t care that you wanted your adrenaline high, I always figured you’d go back to the life, and that you’d tell me, but you didn’t.” You were crying full blown tears now. “What I care about is that you dragged our son, my son, into that danger. He’s dead because of you, and I fucken wish it was me so I wouldn’t have to stand over my son’s grave and stare at his killer. I wish I never met you, that I never loved you, because I know I wouldn’t be this broken.”
You walked up to Taeyong and slapped him, shoving dead flowers into his hands, then made your exit. He didn’t move, silent tears starting to build and fall. He listened to your footsteps as they faded, not daring to look at you. Eventually his eyes slowly looked over at the gravestone, seeing the fresh flowers you had put down. He knew you were right and he’ll regret hurting you for the rest of his life.
Doyoung-
Doyoung stared down at his phone, specifically his background, a beautiful picture of you and him from your first date. Your smile lights up his whole world, even now.
“Doyoung? You with us?”
“Huh? Yeah, yeah I’m here.”
He had to put his phone down and focus on the meeting, but not seeing you made his smile drop. He did his best to pay attention, not wanting to cause problems or seem incompetent, that could get him killed. Afterwards he went out for his usual walk, getting a coffee and then going up to this rooftop garden. You two used to love going there, sitting on the bench that looked out into the city.
Whenever he wanted to feel close to you he went there, wanting to lift his spirits, but today was going to do the opposite. As he walked towards the bench he noticed it was occupied, not just by anyone but by you. He was quick to move away, find a place to be out of sight but still see you. It was barely a month since he broke things off with you, and he knew he wasn’t supposed to be anywhere near you.
He knew he should leave, the longer he stayed the higher the chance of being discovered, but he really just wanted to see you. Eventually he heard you sobbing, and he had to bite his lip and hold himself back from wanting to go over there and comfort you. Truth was he didn’t want to break up, he loved you, but your brother, Taeyong, would never allow you two to stay together.
Taeyong told him to break things off, forced him to do it. You didn’t know what your brother was really involved with, you didn’t know Doyoung worked for him, and for your safety it had to stay that way. It broke his heart knowing he couldn’t be with you, but he didn’t want you getting hurt because of him. When he said you two were over, you burst into tears. Things had been going so well, and yet here he was, letting you go.
He remembered your pleas for an answer so vividly, knowing there was something he wasn’t telling you and begging for his honesty. He stayed strong, saying he didn’t feel anything anymore, that it just wasn’t working, and leaving you in tears. He walked away without looking back, driving off, but it wasn’t long before he pulled over to break down as well.
To see that you were still upset, it hurt him just as much as that night. He had to remind himself that if you knew the truth you’d be in danger, and he couldn’t do that to you. Hearing your sobs, he couldn’t take it anymore, making his way out of the garden and back down to the ground floor. He wiped away his own tears, pulling out his phone and looking at the home screen.
“I love you…”
Johnny-
When you heard a knock at your door you got excited, pizza was here and you were starving. You didn’t think to check to make sure and just opened the door, which you immediately regretted. Johnny, your ex-boyfriend, stood before you.
“Hi.”
It had been over a year since you broke up. You knew his profession, it scared you, and eventually you did what you had to. You knew he loved you, but you couldn’t stay with him. Since you were so close, since you kinda knew his profession, you knew how to fall off the grid. So one day you left him a note and disappeared from his life. You hoped he’d never find you, but deep down you knew he would keep at it until he did, or one of you died.
“Can we talk?”
“No.”
“Please, I just-”
Johnny stopped when he heard the cries of a baby. He looked into the apartment, then at you, he didn’t need you to speak to know the truth. Your eyes went wide with fear and you rushed to slam the door shut. He managed to stick his foot out and keep the door from closing, sticking his hand in to get you to move back.
“Y/n! Let me in!”
“No!”
You were panicking, trying to close the door. You managed to bite Johnny’s hand, using the distraction to pull the door back a bit and then slam it against his foot. He stepped away in pain so you managed to close the door properly and lock it. You took a breath but it wasn’t long before Johnny was slamming his fists against the door.
“Let me in! I know that’s my fucken kid!”
“It’s not!”
“Y/n!”
“Go away! Or I’m calling the police!”
“You can’t keep me away from my kid!”
You were quickly overwhelmed. The fears of him getting in, your child crying out for you, and your own tears blurring your vision. You weren’t sure what to do but you couldn’t just stand around. Johnny kept hitting the door, eventually resorting to ramming it, and eventually he got it to open. He took a step inside and stopped.
You were standing a few feet in front of him, shaking in fear, a knife in one hand, and your phone in the other, tears on your face. Neither of you spoke, the sounds of the baby crying filling the air. Johnny slowly became aware of what he had just done, and realizing he made things worse.
It was all clear now, why you left him in the first place, why you didn’t want to see him. Johnny reached into his pocket, putting a hand up to assure you he meant no harm. He pulled out his wallet and put a few hundred dollar bills on the table near the door, taking slow steps back.
“For the door… I’m so sorry…”
You stayed put for a while, slowly walking over to the door and closing it. You dropped the knife and collapsed to the floor, hugging your knees to your chest, sobbing. Eventually the cries of your baby became louder than your own, and you came back to reality. You wiped away your tears and got up, composing yourself as best as you could and going to attend to your child.
Yuta-
“So what’s it going to be?”
Yuta looked between you and the man who had a gun pressed to your head. Your eyes were shut tight, tears on your face, screaming in silence from fear. You just wanted to go home, but instead you were tied to a chair in some warehouse who knows where. You knew Yuta was dangerous, you knew the life he lived, but you thought love could conquer all.
You had been walking home when a black van suddenly pulled up and grabbed you. A gag was put in your mouth and then a bag was over your head. You screamed despite being muffled, wondering if this was the end. You didn’t know for how long you were in the van but it eventually stopped and you were dragged out, tied to a chair, bag removed, waiting but you didn’t know what for. When Yuta showed up, you were a bit relieved.
“Let her go.”
“I will, only when you tell me what I want to know.”
“You know I can’t do that.”
“Then I guess your bitch can get her head blown off.”
“She won’t.”
You heard a gunshot, finding your voice to scream despite the gag and fear, then hearing a thud. You opened your eyes, breathing heavily, seeing the man who had taken you hostage on the floor, dead. Yuta rushed to your side, untying you and helping you to your feet, but you were still too shaken up to walk on your own. He helped you out, holding you close and mumbling apologies and asking if you were okay.
It wasn’t until you stepped out and felt the night air that clarity hit you. The rest of Yuta’s gang was around, not surprising, so you were safe, and you were done. You took a breath and gained some strength, standing on your own and pushing Yuta away from you. He was confused, but glad you were standing on your own. Your voice was a bit hoarse, still choking back tears, but you needed to say this.
“We’re done.”
“What?”
“I’m done. I… I can’t do this…”
You started walking away but Yuta grabbed you and you screamed despite the pain. He jumped back and all eyes were on you.
“I don’t ever want to see you again!”
“Y/n-”
“No! I just had a gun against my head! I was kidnapped! I could have died tonight… I can’t live like this. I won’t.”
Yuta tried again to reach for you but you stepped away, shaking your head. Once upon a time you loved him, but that died back in that warehouse. It died when you realized just how scary the real world was when you dated a criminal. You turned around and walked away, not looking back, not ever looking back.
Sicheng-
Sicheng leaned against the wall outside an apartment complex. It had taken him a while to work up the courage to come by, but he finally had it. The two of you had broken up a few days ago, it was kinda mutual, but he just couldn’t be without you. He waited around for you to get back from work, making his move when you showed up.
“Hey.”
“Fuck off, I have nothing to say to you.”
“But I do.”
“I don’t care.”
He followed you inside the building and up the stairs. He rushed behind you and grabbed your arm to stop you.
“Please. I know things haven’t been the best lately but… I miss you.”
“Well I don’t, and what I want is more important than what you want.”
“Y/n-”
“I don’t wanna date someone who is constantly putting my life in danger. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been kidnapped, and I don’t want to be.”
“That would never happen.”
“You can’t guarantee that, and I’m not taking a chance.”
“You took a chance when I told you the truth and you stayed with me.”
“That was a stupid decision, and I rectified that when I left you, now get out.”
“It’s not that simple and you know it.”
“Fuck. Off. Sicheng. I don’t love you or whatever you’re tryna look for here. Now leave me alone or I am calling the police.”
You pulled your arm away and continued up on the steps. You were done with him but he wasn’t done with you. He grabbed your arm again, being more aggressive on his hold and you lost your footing. You tripped down the steps past him, hitting your head on the ground a few times and laying on the steps, moaning in pain.
“Y/n!”
Sicheng rushed down the stairs, grabbing your body causing you to scream out in agony. He noticed the blood from your head injury, starting to panic.
“No, no, no, hey stay awake. I’m gonna call an ambulance and you’re going to be just fine okay, okay, stay with me.”
“I always… I always knew… you’d be the death of me…”
Mark-
Mark sat on a park bench, a fresh newspaper folded in his lap. He wasn’t going to read it, he wasn’t on his phone, he just sat there and watched you from a distance. That was his routine every Wednesday. Across the way he watched as you sat in front of the flowers, this time painting them on a small canvas. Eventually he heard the tears and his heart ached.
He always told himself he could keep you safe, that he would keep you safe, but he didn’t. One day he got a call, you were missing, the investigation revealed you had been kidnapped. He got a ransom note, it wasn’t about money, it was about power, these assholes wanted him to step down and retire, but he wouldn’t just bend the knee, and his stupid pride cost him you.
When you were finally found you were a bloody, bruised, mess in a dark old cell, barely alive. Hours later you woke up in the hospital, and you screamed. The nurses had to put you under and keep you that way. While in captivity you had been tortured, the kidnappers wanted to get information out of you, but the truth was you knew nothing, Mark kept it that way, and they wanted to make sure.
It took weeks before a psychologist could actually talk with you, talk about the pain. Mark thought progress was being made, that he could see you and bring you home soon, but his first visit since your rescue was his last. When you laid eyes on him you screamed, you cried, you begged for help, wanting him to get away from you. He tried to explain to the nurses, he tried to talk to you, but you had no lover, because if someone loved you, they wouldn’t leave you to rot.
The doctors made it clear he was never allowed to see you, that it would prevent you from getting better, and he would have to live with that. The closest he could get to seeing you again was on Wednesdays, when your doctor took you out to the garden for some fresh air. When he could watch you from afar, and wish he could go back and do better. Your tears that day eventually turned to screams and you began to rip out the flowers.
The doctor rushed over to you, holding you and trying to soothe you. Mark watched what he had done, how he had ruined you. He didn’t have to see you, he could move on, but he didn’t let himself. He needed to be reminded that there were consequences to his pride, seeing you was his punishment and he had a life sentence to serve.
Haechan-
“What the fuck are you doing?”
Haechan took the syringe from your hand and threw it. You slapped him without hesitation, or you tried to but he caught your hand.
“Really?”
“Yes. That cost money you fucker!”
“So you’re a junkie now?”
“Who are you my mom? No wait, ex-boyfriend who got me shot.”
“I didn’t shoot you.”
“No? Cause I recall an assassin aiming for your fat fucken head and missing! So guess who got a bullet through her chest and should probably be dead? Me. You didn’t physically pull the trigger, but you fucken pulled the trigger.”
“You’re high, so you’re just spitting out nonsense right now.”
“Am I? Tell me that’s not what happened?”
“Y/n… let me get you home.”
“No! I’m not your responsibility, we’re not together anymore, so leave me alone before I call the cops!”
“And what? You’re gonna go get high on whatever you can find.”
“Yeah and find out how to OD.”
“Y/n!”
“What!”
“Nothing I…” He sighed. “You need to go home, come on.”
“I’m not going anywhere with you.”
You pulled your arm free from Haechan and walked over to where he had thrown the syringe, looking for it. Of course he knew what you were doing.
“Are you serious?”
He rushed over, trying to pull you along but instead you started shoving, the two of you going back and forth until you heard glass break. You looked down at your feet, seeing a broken syringe beneath your shoes. You stepped back and slowly bent down, grabbing the broken thing. Haechan was gonna make some comment when he noticed the tears in your eyes.
“Are you… are you crying? It’s just some-”
“It hurts!” You screamed, letting the tears fall. “It fucken hurts okay, every minute of everyday it feels like something inside me is aching, and I wanna rip it out. The only way to make the pain go away is getting high… and this was the last bit I had to get me through the day…”
“Why don’t you just tell your doctor that-”
“My doctor cut me off months ago… he said I was exaggerating and not really in any pain… so I had to find other ways to make it through…”
“Y/n I-”
You jabbed the needle into his hand and shoved him away.
“We’re not together, so stop giving a shit and leave me alone. I don’t need you, you’re just a mistake in my life, and I’m not gonna get any better with you in it.”
Jungwoo-
“You good?”
You sat in the back of an ambulance wrapped in a blanket. Your injuries had been treated, so you were just dealing with some light throbbing and the aches from the bruises on your face. Jungwoo came over, red and blue lights flashing and filling the dark night with color. He leaned against the ambulance door, looking at you, sadness in his eyes.
“Have you given the police your statement?”
“Yes.”
“Then leave.”
“What?”
“Or do I need to report to the police that I have a stalker?”
“Excuse me? You were attacked by your boyfriend and-”
“I was fine.”
“You’re sitting in an ambulance.”
“And you called the cops on my boyfriend.”
“Ex.”
“You’re my ex too.”
“I never hurt you like him.”
“Lying hurts Jungwoo… you lied to me, and put me in danger. That hurts more than any punch.”
“I never meant to hurt you.”
“Yeah and I bet my other ex in the back of a police car will tell me the same thing if I talk to him. So can you do me a favor and go away, I’m tired.”
“I’m always going to be looking after you…”
“I don’t want you to!”
You got up, staring straight at Jungwoo. You were still in pain, but you didn’t want to seem weak in front of him. Of course that didn’t work out since you stumbled a bit, your legs shaking. As you started to fall Jungwoo caught you and had you sit back down. Once you were sitting you shoved him away.
“Don’t touch me.”
“Can you not be so stubborn? You could have died tonight.”
“If I stayed with you I probably would have been dead a long time ago.”
“That-”
“Shut up!” You steadied your breath. “Can you please just leave? Thanks, I guess, but I don’t want you back in my life. If you thought we could start over or some shit, you’re wrong. So go, and don’t come back.”
“I’m sorry…”
“Keep saying that, you’ll wear out your tongue before I give a fuck.”
Jungwoo nodded, holding back his disappointment. Ever since you left he had been keeping tabs on you, and when he found out you were hurt, he had to hold himself back from just murdering the bastard. He got the guy arrested the right way, that way you’d be alright, but he shouldn’t have expected one right to fix a multitude of wrongs.
Jaehyun-
You wiped away your tears as you packed your bag, taking off all the jewelry, anything that was from Jaehyun. You felt stupid, pathetic, for staying despite the fact you knew this was probably going to happen. When Jaehyun came home you were on your way down the stairs with a bag in hand. You had hoped to leave before he returned, but judging by the look on his face, he had come running home.
“Y/n, let me explain.”
“I don’t want one!”
You tried to push past him but he grabbed your arm and held you back. You couldn’t hold back anymore and slapped him. If he wanted to he could have stopped you but he let you, he knew he deserved it but that wasn’t going to get him anything.
“It’s not what you think.”
“I don’t care what you think it was, cheating is cheating!”
“That’s not-”
“I get it alright, you’re the great Jung Jaehyun who can have any bitch he wants, and I’m just the one you keep at home.”
“I had to. I-”
“No you didn’t! It was a choice! You had a choice and you chose to sleep with some other bitch. You didn’t have to under any fucken circumstances! So accept the consequences.”
“Y/n… let me explain, please hear me out.”
“I’m leaving, and I don’t care what you have to say. I should have known better than to date someone like you. Can’t keep it in your fucken pants.”
As you tried to leave again Jaehyun grabbed you and pinned you against the door. You should have been scared, screaming for help, trying to fight him, but you didn’t. Instead you burst into tears, which caught him off guard.
“I’m tired… I’m tired of you coming home late… I’m tired of being ignored… I’m tired of hugging you and smelling sex… I always… I just thought it was the smell of being at clubs and stuff… but I should have known better… this isn’t your first time… but it’s the first time I’ve had proof…”
“Baby, it was meaningless. I did it to get some information so-”
“That makes it worse! You’re Jung Jaehyun! And you’re telling me there was no other way to get that info, you had to fuck someone for it! And… and you probably weren’t gonna tell me anyway…” You kneed Jae in the crotch and shoved him away. “So fuck you Jaehyun, fuck you for dragging me into this mess. I hope you die alone in a ditch somewhere or get killed in prison!”
You slammed the door behind you as you made your exit. Fresh tears on your face, you never should have dated a mobster, not one as handsome as him. It was always going to end in heartbreak, you knew that deep down, and now you were living it.
