Grondor Ashes?

Azure Moon, my own expansion on events that happen after the battle at Grondor Field. I feel like my specific thoughts when I started this were "have more fun with Divine Pulse" and "what if I make things worse."

She sees him, a dark spot on the landscape, blue and black against the dull brown of the field, circled by the red of Imperial corpses. Areadbhar’s blade points to the sky; Dimitri kneels, head bowed, body leaned against his lance and held upright by it. Lethe stumbles as she starts to run. Better healers than her can channel white magic through the air, but no matter what magic she learned to help her father and her students, it is her nature to always be most proficient as a killer.

As she approaches, she sees the hilt of a blade protruding from the base of his neck. She lands on her hands and knees in the dirt and crawls the last small distance until she can grab Dimitri’s arm. He slumps against her, his head hitting her collarbone with an impact she feels in her teeth. She reaches within herself for her last reserve of white magic and focuses it through her fingers into a healing spell. The energy passes from her into Dimitri, where she feels it dissipate, unable to anchor itself in living flesh.

The world jerks out of focus around her, fragmented like an image in a shattered mirror. Flip the hourglass, unwind the clock, she will not allow his life to end this way. She has to reach him faster, find a horse or a wyvern, anything to intercept and forestall his death. In the midst of battle it is easy to turn back by a few seconds and call out a different command to counter the exact threat she has just seen, but she will be turning minutes aside now. She cannot miss a step or waste a moment–

clarence — my dumb, dumb idiot star bright fella... i genuinely don't remember how i came up with him, but i put him through the wringer and he came out a certified clown. think he's one of the OG himbos i've been carrying around from blog to blog, definitely the most i've made memes of. but he's fun! he's so silly! he has to be or else we'll both succumb to the immense angst he's built from

chanyeol — horrible... annoying rat. eun and him carried this blog for a hot second. but he's one of the easiest muses i could slot into anything / anywhere. actually think he has the most verses ( besides eun but their verses coincide a lot ). anyways, i say with much reluctance in my heart, he is very fun to write.

cruor — newest muse that's taken the stage by storm! i really said, hey.. wouldn't it be ironic if i made a healer that has super regenerative blood but made him hemophobic? chat said yes, do it. and then i went, hey.. now what if i made him embody golden retriever energy but half that because he's too anemic to do much of anything. then give him a killer bod— he's so silly, i love him dearly

dear diary.. HHWOIGAH jk i can't keep up with journaling. nope, this is the only writing-based hobby i have. to be fair, i write so much here, i'm not surprised i can't get my brain to do other writing things.

10. what genre do you most enjoy, whether in roleplay, or fiction as a whole? (fantasy, period, superhero, etc.)

horror.. especially very eldritch based / creature feature horror. it's one of my top fav genres across the board tbh. but it is at a tie with comedy. who am i, if not a clown? and i find that it's a nice niche to have both the horrors and humor go hand in hand :o)

Say howdy do to what is probably one of if not the strongest character in all of my worlds that I've made yes it is Mrs. Blueclaw/the star killer Shinobi that I made a while ago and still definitely need to redraw and no she can't just do this normally she needs eight very specific people and enough time to do a ritual is one specific place with a specific magic circle but if that can be done then you will get the Godess of the Legend of the 9 Eyes or just "the Nonagodess" embued with the power of the eye of the Mage, the Healer, the Architect, the Champion, the Bard, the Observer, the King, the Dragon, and the Conqueror (she naturally has the conqueros eye that's why she only needs 8 people and not 9)

            “Mattia!  MATTIA!” he roared.  Mattia, however, just kept walking, causing Charles to growl low in his throat before he shut his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down but he was just so overcome with anger that he couldn’t help but take another deep breath before he let out a loud scream, his powers exploding out of him.  However, because of the properties of the cell, the glass just absorbed his powers instead of exploding because of them, causing him to growl before he punched the wall of his cell, rage coursing through his veins.

            “Jiang Yuelou” he breathed before he quickly knelt before him and cupped his face in his hands.             “Jiang Yuelou” he whispered.  Jiang Yuelou, however, didn’t answer, causing Chen Yuzhi to whimper before he reached out and carefully pulled him into his arms, hugging him gently but tightly.             “I’m sorry.  Jiang Yuelou, I’m so sorry.  I lied…everything that I said was a lie.  I’m sorry.  I love you.  I really, really love you.  So please…please don’t leave me” he begged as he clung to him and buried his face in his neck.             “Don’t leave me.  Please don’t leave me” he pleaded.  Jiang Yuelou, however, didn’t answer again, causing Chen Yuzhi to let out another whimper before he hugged him tighter.             “Please” he whispered, just as two strong, but gentle, arms came around him and hugged him back.

It was a dark and stormy night as a tall man with light skin, brown eyes, and short black hair tossed and turned in his bed, his face pinched in agony just as thunder cracked outside, causing him to shoot up from his slumber with a loud gasp, his chest rising and falling heavily.  He then sat there for a moment, his heart thumping loudly in his chest, before he let out a soft groan and placed his head in his hands.             “Again…the same damn dream again” he grumbled.  He then took a deep breath before he removed his head from his hands and slipped out of bed, making his way over to the door of his room before he opened it, a butler already standing outside of the door.

As he checked over his supplies to make sure he wasn’t running low or out of stock, a low rumble echoed through the air, causing him to freeze and look up with wide eyes before he turned and rushed out of the house to see a large warship slowly pierce the clouds until more and more of it came into view.  At the sight of the warship, Chen Yuzhi let out a sharp breath before he turned and ran towards the village square, quickly avoiding any passing villagers until he arrived in front of the large, long bell that was in the middle of the square and picked up the mallet, hefting it in his hands before he swung it at the bell, a low gong echoing through the village.  As he continued to bang the mallet against the bell, more and more villagers slowly came out of their houses and looked up at the sky at the ship before Bai Jinbo made his way over to him and stood beside him as he lowered the mallet and looked up at the sky.             “What do you think they want?” he asked.  Chen Yuzhi shook his head as he ran a hand through his hair and looked up at the warship with fear in his eyes.             “Everything” he whispered.

Welter: What subject will they never fully understand?

Madara actually tried to learn to heal early on, when he was 16-ish. It did not end well for him. All his life, he’s been able to pick up the shinobi arts without much trouble -- genjutsu? On lock. Ninjutsu? Not even trying. Taijutsu? Cakewalk. But iryo-ninjutsu has always eluded him, much to his private frustration. He just... can’t figure out how to do it. How to get his mind in the right place to mold and control healing chakra, how to think of the body as something to fix rather than something to hurt.

Eventually, he gives up on it past his twenties. Since his failure, Madara has always quietly admired and envied healers. But on a more personal, grimmer note, when he’s in a bad headspace, his inability to heal confirms one of his personal suspicions about himself: he is only capable of destruction.
