Nanowrimo supports AI.

Zendesk post titled ‘What is NaNoWriMo's position on Artificial Intelligence (AI)?’

Besides there being no mention of scraping or of stolen material, or even any idea of they’re talking about generative AI or older proofreaders, this statement is horribly classist and ableist in itself, essentially implying that lower class and/or disabled writers need to use AI to make their works ‘suitable’ for the upper class market.

If I could get a little personal, that is so fucking stupid. I’m disabled, I’m relatively new to writing, and my work is rough as fuck around the edges. Disabled people can write. We don’t need AI to do it for us, even if it was completely 100% ethical, which it really is not.

So yeah. Nano is pro AI, if you want another reason to hate them.

Does SoS play any of the guilty gear games, and if so who does she main

She'd be a fighting game fanatic and her ancients would SO make tournaments trying to defeat her in various fighters. I think she'd enjoy rushdowns...

Sadly I don't know basically anything about Guilty Gear I'm just beyond amused at the image of grand ancient tournaments where the winner faces off against none other than Sliv.

I also find it adorable if she retold these tournaments to Moon.

I think the ancients should give her a mute button or disable her own hearing maybe as a treat. The "I'm overwhelmed" button you could even say.

It's just WILD to me that bioware would pull this shit right after bg3 comes out to outstanding reviews for it's writing and characters!! Like I haven't played bg3 yet but it's clear to everyone with eyes that it's setting a new standard for RPGs despite how other studios are scrambling to claim it's a one off and impossible to replicate the same standard. And then bioware, in the wake of this, where half it's fans are seeing how amazing bg3 is and maybe losing interesting in da because of it are like...oh hey why don't we fire the writer who wrote some of our best received characters and a bunch more of the team to the point where it feels they don't care about the games anymore (depsite their stupid claim that this will help with releasing DA4). like. How is this not going to make people just lose complete faith and look somewhere else - especially when that something else is RIGHT THERE because it JUST CAME OUT

I've seen people on here praising Scrivener for a tweet they made that seemed critical of NaNoWriMo without realizing that they also made an official statement coming out fully in support of NaNo and dismissing any of the other concerns about the org.

They are responding to emails about this by belittling concerns about the org and reiterating that they believe what interim direction Kilby Blades is telling them and prioritize the longevity of the org over writers and NaNo participants, despite admitting they don't expect NaNoWriMo to last out the year.

Love how when MLs pointed out that Kilby was the only staff left, she called that "spreading misinformation" but now that's it's convenient to her to play "poor widdle unpaid volwunteer 'dats all awone" she admits it to play on sponsor's sympathy.

This really sums it up...

(and, of course, they ARE aware because people have been in talks with them about it for over a year so it's absolutely the second thing)

I've seen a lot of people spreading that earlier tweet when they seemed in opposition so I hope people will help spread the word about their official stance.

Ok I know I’m late to the party but I only just managed to catch up on the acolyte and I have so many thoughts. Chief among them being the fact that Qimir had to have been carrying his ‘Sith’ outfit with him in his bag right? Cause he wasn’t wearing anything close to what he wears in that fight before then and it was only what…15 minutes?

So that begs the question…did he have an inkling he was going to be betrayed? Why else would be bring it? Unless he thought Mae wouldn’t be able to kill the Wookie and he would need to step in as the master but then how would he have explained it to Mae? As her master he’s been hands off from what we’ve seen up till then so why show up just for this one fight?

Bro had to have know something was going down, he must have sensed Mae wavering after seeing Osha so brought along his essentials just in case. But I think he thought he could walk away with both of them. I think what tipped the scales from pissed off to murderous is when Mae said she would tell the Jedi everything. After that he knew there would be no forgiving her

Also not that I’m jumping on the whole Qimir is hot bandwagon but come on, he is. The duality between him as the goofball to the stillness and savagery when he’s the Stranger is unreal. Dude took on a dozen Jedi and barely broke a sweat. Only Sol survived and he was broken from what happened. Dude almost gave into the dark side because of Qimir

I know a lot of people are criticising The Acolyte but I’m loving it. The story, the choreography, the acting is amazing. I don’t think it does break continuity. Qimir said that the Jedi might call him Sith, not that he is one, so the whole there not being a Sith defeated in 1000 years could still be true.

If he really does embrace all aspects of himself, at most he could be seen as a fallen Jedi or dark side user but I think he’s more closer to a grey Jedi, simply because he uses both sides of the force. Sort of like the Father in the Mortis gods.
