“I russi…

North Macedonia sent Su-25 jets to Ukraine
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 08/05/2022 - 10:00 AM in Military, War Zones
After North Macedonia confirmed that it donated T-72 tanks to Ukraine at the end of last month, reports emerged that the country also sent approximate Su-25 air support jets to Ukraine.
According to the local news agency MKD, North Macedonia transferred four Su-25s to Ukraine in June, with the transfer kept confidential.
It is said that the jets were transferred by Bulgaria and Romania, the same route that was used for the delivery of 31 T-72A tanks.
The country's Ministry of Defense did not confirm or deny the report, according to the MKD, saying only that decisions on transfers "would be declassified and published in a transparent way".

The four jets that were delivered to the Ukrainian Air Force were previously purchased from Kiev in 2001. North Macedonia had been considering selling the three single-seaters and one-seater since they were retired in 2004 and placed in storage.
Earlier this year, the Left Party of North Macedonia revealed that it learned from whistleblowers from the Ministry of Defense that the aircraft are being repaired in the military section of Alexander the Great airport. At that time, the party said that the repairs were being carried out by Ukrainian military engineers, which indicated that this was being done to deliver them to Ukraine.
Russia has already condemned the transfer of T-72 tanks from North Macedonia to Ukraine, with the spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, saying that the donation was "a big mistake".
The authorities of North Macedonia responded by stating that "North Macedonia is a sovereign state that makes its decisions independently, guided by the principles of respect for international law".

I recently found and purchased a Kiev 35A. I decided to take a chance on it as it seemed on the face of it to be ok. They are known to have a multitude of possible issues, some of which are notable when trying to use them and others when you get your film back. So it looks like I got one that was in pretty good working order (once I found the right batteries for it) as my film is back from the @lomograpy lab. The film was a reclaimed and partially shot and expired Klick 24, 200 iso. Why risk a good film? The Netherlands considers supplying its F-16 fighters to Ukraine
The Dutch government also supports the shipment of German Leopard 2 tanks.

Repeated requests from Ukrainian officers and pilots for F-16 fighters seem to be able to be met, as the Dutch office studies the supply of F-16 jets to Ukraine if the Kiev government requests it.
During a parliamentary debate on Thursday, Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra said that the Cabinet would analyze such a request with an "open mind". In Davos, Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren also said that the Netherlands is willing to help pay for the modern Leopard 2 tanks that other countries send to Ukraine. “This is certainly something we are willing to do,” she told Bloomberg.

Hoekstra said that "there are no taboos" for the delivery of regular equipment. Parliamentarian Sjoerd Sjoerdsma asked the Cabinet to provide F-16s and infantry combat vehicles to the Ukrainian armed forces. Many fear that Russia will launch another major offensive in the coming months.

The Royal Dutch Air Force is currently deactivating its fleet of F-16A/B fighters, progressively replacing them with 52 F-35A stealth fighters. Twelve Dutch F-16 fighters have already been sold to Draken International, a private company based in the United States that offers realistic training for fighter pilots.

During his speech at the Ramstein-8 meeting in Germany on January 20, President Volodymyr Zelensky asked partners to give Ukraine long-range missiles and F-16 fighters, according to Sky News. Ukraine's allies have been reluctant to supply these Western-made fighters so far.

The delivery of the F-16 would undoubtedly be subject to the approval of the United States, its manufacturing country. Although the Biden administration was initially reluctant, the U.S. House of Representatives allocated $100 million to train Ukrainian pilots to fly U.S. combat aircraft in July 2022.

According to Hoekstra, the Netherlands only sends items that Ukraine asks for. Currently, Ukraine mainly needs heavy weapons. For some time, the country has been asking for modern tanks. Poland and Finland want to send the German Leopard 2 tanks, but they need Germany's permission.

According to Zelensky, Poland, Finland, Portugal, Spain and some other countries have stated that they are ready to supply German-made Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, but need permission for the transfer of equipment from Germany.

Berlin is hesitant. The German government is under intense pressure to allow these tanks to be sent to Ukraine. The Netherlands is willing to help pay to get the tanks in Ukraine, Ollongern said in Davos, but the delivery should take place within a European or NATO coalition.

“We are waiting for Germany’s position on this, but I am in favor of trying to find a solution and send tanks to Ukraine,” Ollongren told Bloomberg. "Every time, we show that we are able, together, to provide Ukraine with what they need."

Lockheed Martin said he is ready to meet Ukraine's demand for F-16
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 02/25/23 - 10:30 in Military, War Zones
A request from Kiev for F-16 fighter aircraft is still pending approval from Washington. Even so, a leader of the hunting manufacturer said the company is preparing for a possible shipment of the jets.
According to Lockheed Martin's COO, Frank St. John, although the company does not participate directly in the negotiations on the potential supply of jets to Ukraine, it has been involved in numerous discussions with third parties who are considering making their F-16 stock available to Kiev.
According to him, Lockheed Martin plans to "increase the production of the F-16s in Greenville (South Carolina) to reach the point where we can serve with a lot of capacity any country that chooses to make transfers from third parties to help with the current conflict."
Any European country that wants to provide its F-16 to Ukraine would first need to obtain a re-export license from Washington.
“Together with our allies and international partners, we are in regular communication with Ukrainians about their needs and requests,” a U.S. defense officer told the Financial Times. "At the moment, we have nothing to announce about the F-16."

On January 23, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, said that “the wheels are in motion” about the possibility of Ukraine receiving Western fighters.
Ukraine has been requesting dozens of F-16 jets, the single-engine fighter capable of performing air-to-air and air-ground operations, developed in the 1970s by General Dynamics. He says that the F-16s are needed to provide air support to the troops while seeking to recover cities and towns in the east and south, where Russian troops entrenched themselves and protect Ukrainian cities and villages from Moscow's attack planes.
Poland could be one of the NATO countries that will supply its F-16 as soon as the U.S. government approves the sales or transfers, but other experts say that such transfers are more likely to come from Denmark or the Netherlands.
As the Netherlands has about 40 F-16s and is in transition to the most advanced F-35 fighter (also manufactured by Lockheed Martin), sending some of its F-16s to Ukraine is considered the most sensible.
