Trendsetting Excellence: A Look into Kia's Stylish Cars
Kia began its India operations with two SUVs – the Seltos and Sonet. The Seltos, launched in 2019, is a compact SUV featuring a sporty design language, powerful engine options, and generous equipment. Its sophisticated looks, feature-rich interiors, and strong value proposition made it an instant hit. The Sonet followed in 2020 as a subcompact SUV packing style, technology, and adaptability for the urban market.
In 2022, Kia diversified into the 6 & 7 seater segment with the Carens – a versatile people mover fusing sophistication, flexibility and family-friendly practicality. The same year marked Kia's foray into electric mobility with the futuristic EV6. Blending boundary-pushing design with long range, rapid charging, and sharp performance, the EV6 spearheads Kia's electric ambitions. Read on to learn more about the Kia car model in India.
Kia Seltos - The Foundation of Success
Tumblr media
The midsize Seltos compact SUV left a strong first impression back in 2019. Its athletic shape, daring "tiger nose" chrome grille grabbed attention. Inside, the high-quality cabin with fancy touches like ambient mood lighting and ventilated seats made owners feel extra special. Buyers also appreciated Seltos' lively engine options and long features list, which are typically seen only on more expensive vehicles.
This clever balance of standout looks lots of equipment, capable engines, and reasonable pricing made Seltos an instant hit. It laid the foundation for Kia's popularity in India, which continues to grow today.
Kia Sonet - Winning Hearts in the City
Tumblr media
Launching shortly after its Seltos sibling, the Sonet subcompact SUV had big shoes to fill. However, the smart packaging and design of Sonet makes it very appealing to find parking or turn in crowded cities. Owners loved the interior space despite the compact size outside. Mixing style and practicality for urban use worked very well.
Adding spirited engine performance and extensive feature options in top versions also won buyers. Moreover, as an affordable gateway into the Kia brand for first-time buyers, the value-packed and fun-to-drive Sonet struck the right chords.
Kia Carens - Sophistication with Flexibility
Tumblr media
As a family needing a spacious yet sophisticated new vehicle, the 2022 Kia Carens catches our eye. The flexibility of its 6- and 7-seater configurations is perfect for changing carpool demands. Inside, the premium dash and materials and the latest technology and entertainment features create a refined environment the whole family enjoys.
Under the hood, fuel-efficient engines employ clever tech that assists with partial electric boosts for fewer stops at the pump. This creative combination striking new ground between practicality and appeal has attracted many families.
Kia EV6 - Future of Driving Arrives Today
Tumblr media
As Kia's debut dedicated electric vehicle in India, the revolutionary KIA EV6 India gives buyers the first truly world-class EV option locally through superb Korean technology. Futuristic shapes mixing a sleek stance with aerospace ambitions provide strong hints for mobility advances. Vast tech transforming the cabin hints at potentials too - from dual HD displays to sustainable materials and 64 Color Ambient mood lighting settings. For Indian customers desiring a peek at tomorrow's electric possibilities made exciting today, Kia's luxury EV6 remains a red-hot talking point.
Kia Cars Models and Price When it comes to prices, Kia cars strike an appealing balance between affordability and premium ownership experience. Among the current Kia lineup, the Sonet subcompact SUV is the most accessible model for buyers looking to enter the Kia family.
Kia Sonet price starts at ₹7,99,000. T&C apply, ex-showroom price all India . This makes the lively yet practical Sonet subcompact SUV the most affordable way to own a new Kia car in India. With its eye-catching looks, extensive features list, efficient engines and composed road manners, the Sonet punches well above its price tag.
Moving up the ladder, we come to the popular Kia Seltos, which slots in as a compact SUV. Kia Seltos ex-showroom price starts at ₹10,89,900 T&C apply, ex-showroom price all India . The tech laden Seltos packs in a lot of money. From its high-quality interiors to versatile engine options and assured dynamics, the Seltos sets an aspirational benchmark in its segment.
Kia Carens ranges from ₹10,51,900* ex-showroom prices in all India . The Carens has transformed mobility for modern families with seating flexibility for 6 or 7 passengers, a striking design, and a premium cabin. Available with both petrol and diesel drivetrains, the Carens can suit varying budgets and needs.
Overall, Kia India has ensured widespread accessibility across its model range. For customers, this translates into vehicles matching their requirements and the style, features and technology defining the Kia brand. The market has received the pricing strategy well, as indicated by the sales success of Seltos and Sonet. Expect Kia to build on this momentum with competitive pricing, driving value-conscious purchases.
Conclusion By focusing on great design, consumer convenience, quality manufacturing and intelligent technologies in just 5 years, Kia India has achieved record sales most global brands take decades to reach! Now, they plan to raise the bar further - a more widespread presence countrywide. Given their customer-first mindset, which delivers joy and efficiency in equal proportions, we expect Kia's future journey to shine bright.

Kia's entry into the fiercely competitive sub-4m SUV segment in India, the Sonet, has carved a significant niche in just over three years. Launched in September 2020, the Sonet has crossed a remarkable milestone – surpassing a whopping four lakh units in sales, including exports from India. This achievement underscores Sonet's appeal to Indian car buyers and its potential in the global market. A Breakdown of Sonet Sales and Buyer Preferences Kia's sales figures reveal interesting insights into what Sonet buyers prioritize: The Kia Sonet Domestic Domination: Over 3.17 lakh units have found homes within India, demonstrating Sonet's strong domestic market performance. Global Appeal: Nearly 86,000 units have been exported, signifying the Sonet's potential to resonate with international audiences as well. Sunroof Craze: A remarkable 63% of buyers opted for variants equipped with a sunroof, highlighting the growing demand for this premium feature in India. Petrol Power Preferred: 63% of buyers chose Sonet's petrol variants, reflecting the general shift towards petrol engines in the Indian market. Transmission Choices: The 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic transmission) for the turbo-petrol engine and the 6-speed AT (automatic transmission) for the diesel engine together contributed to 28% of sales. This indicates a growing preference for automatic transmissions for a smoother driving experience. iMT: A Viable Option: The innovative iMT (intelligent Manual Transmission), which removes the need for a clutch pedal, attracted 23% of buyers, suggesting its appeal to those seeking a balance between manual control and convenience. Feature-Packed and Safety-Conscious: The 2024 Facelift Kia recently introduced a facelift for the Sonet in early 2024, further enhancing its value proposition. Let's explore some key features: Dual Panoramic Displays: A highlight is the inclusion of dual 10.25-inch displays – one for the infotainment system and the other for the instrument cluster – creating a modern and sophisticated feel. Enhanced Convenience: Features like wireless phone charging, a sunroof, and ventilated front seats provide added comfort and convenience for drivers and passengers alike. Climate Control and Comfort: Automatic climate control ensures a pleasant cabin temperature, while a 4-way power-adjustable driver seat allows for optimal positioning. Connected Car Tech: Staying connected on the go is easy with Sonet's integrated connected car technology. Safety First: Kia prioritizes safety with six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features. FAQs Q: What are the key reasons for the Kia Sonet's success? A: The Sonet's success can be attributed to several factors, including its stylish design, a wide range of engine and transmission options, a feature-rich interior with a focus on comfort and convenience, and competitive pricing. Additionally, the growing popularity of sunroofs in India and the increasing preference for petrol engines seem to resonate well with Sonet buyers. Q: How does the Kia Sonet compare to the Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue? A: All three SUVs are strong contenders in the sub-4m segment. The Brezza offers a spacious and practical interior, while the Venue shares some components with the Sonet and boasts a similar feature set. The Sonet stands out with its wider range of engine and transmission options, including the responsive 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and the convenient iMT gearbox. Q: Is the Kia Sonet a good option for long journeys? A: The suitability of the Sonet for long journeys depends on your chosen engine and your tolerance for range limitations. The diesel variant offers the best fuel efficiency for long trips. However, if you opt for the petrol engine, you might need to factor in more frequent refueling stops.

Kia India: Doubling Down On SUVs & Embracing EVs
Kia India, the Korean automaker that stormed onto the Indian scene with its stylish and feature-packed SUVs, is in no mood to slow down. In a recent interview, Managing Director & CEO Tae-Jin Park laid out Kia’s ambitious plans for the next three to four years, and SUVs are firmly at the center of the action.
While acknowledging the growing EV market, Park doesn’t see immediate dethronement of ICE vehicles. Kia, however, is embracing the EV wave and expects it to contribute 20% of their sales by 2030. They’re laying the groundwork with the EV6’s success and plan to bring in the flagship EV9 seven-seater e-SUV and, interestingly, an EV version of their locally made RV alongside the ICE version in 2025. This bold move shows Kia’s commitment to both catering to existing demand and creating new EV segments.
Kia understands that EV adoption hinges on charging infrastructure. They’re actively contributing to building this ecosystem, recognizing it as crucial for India’s EV transition. This proactive approach positions them as a leader in shaping the future of mobility in the country.
Park believes that ICE and EV vehicles will coexist for a decade or more. This pragmatic view showcases Kia’s commitment to catering to diverse customer preferences while strategically expanding their EV portfolio. This strategy ensures they stay relevant in both established and emerging markets.
Conclusion:
Kia India’s vision is clear – SUVs as the growth engine, embracing EVs without neglecting ICE, and actively building the infrastructure for a smooth transition. With their ambitious plans, strategic launches, and focus on customer needs, Kia is poised to remain a force to be reckoned with in the Indian automobile market. The road ahead is paved with innovation and excitement, and Kia seems ready to lead the charge.

Tata Nexon Facelift Test Mule Spotted In The Wild Once Again
Tumblr media
● Tata began testing the Nexon facelift in early 2023.
● It is the second major refresh while the first facelift came in early 2020.
● Exterior updates include a new alloy wheel design, vertically stacked LED headlights and connected LED taillights.
● Inside, it will have a new steering wheel, updated upholstery and centre console.
● Likely to get with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, up to six airbags and 360-degree camera.
● Expected to be launched in early 2024 with prices starting at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom)
Since the early months of 2023, there have been ample sightings of the Tata Nexon facelift undergoing testing, with the camouflage slowly reducing as time goes on. We have now spotted another test mule of the updated SUV on tests – although still draped in heavy camouflage – suggesting it’s inching closer to being production-ready. This will be the second major overhaul for the sub-4m SUV after the 2020 update.
Design Details Revealed So Far
Its profile is unlikely to get any major design changes save for the revised alloy wheels. At the back, the updated Nexon will have a reshaped boot, a tweaked bumper and connected LED taillights. The facelifted Nexon will also come with dynamic turn indicators as seen on a test mule recently. All these design changes will likely make their way on the Nexon’s EV versions as well
Tumblr media
Design changes on the Nexon facelift will be carried forward inside the cabin as well. Some of the interior revisions include a Tata Avinya-like steering wheel (with a rectangular display in the centre), violet upholstery, and a slightly redone centre console.
Features on board the facelifted Tata Nexon will likely include a digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, paddle shifters, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, and auto climate control.
Passenger safety is expected to be taken care of by up to six airbags, 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a reversing camera.
Tumblr media
We are expecting Tata to launch the Nexon facelift sometime early next year at an expected starting price of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to compete with the Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue, while also taking on crossover SUVs like the Maruti Fronx and Citroen C3.

Used car dealers in Thane and Mumbai-Should you buy a used Kia Sonet?
Introduction
In the highly competitive used car market, Kia's Sonet compact SUV stands out as a smooth and stylish option worth considering. Since its launch in 2020, the Sonet has gained popularity due to its refined engine options and feature-packed design. If you're in the market for a used Kia Sonet, this comprehensive guide will provide valuable insights and tips to help you make an informed purchase. From understanding the engine and gearbox options to checking for common issues, we'll cover all the essential aspects to help you buy a good example of a used Kia Sonet.
Kia Sonet:
Engine and Gearbox Options
The Kia Sonet offers both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The petrol variants include a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine with 83hp, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine with 120hp, available with either a 6-speed iMT (clutch-less manual) or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The diesel variant features a 1.5-liter engine producing 100hp with a 6-speed manual gearbox or 115hp with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.
When it comes to fuel efficiency, the Sonet diesel manual delivers approximately 15.4kpl in the city and 20.8kpl on the highway. The diesel-automatic achieves around 13.8kpl in the city and 18.8kpl on the highway. The turbo-petrol DCT offers approximately 11.6kpl in the city and 16.5kpl on the highway, while the iMT variant returns around 11.2kpl in the city and 15.8kpl on the highway.
Consider your driving requirements and preferences when choosing between the available engine and gearbox options. The diesel-automatic combination offers a balanced performance and fuel efficiency, while the petrol variants are suitable for those with lower mileage requirements. The turbo-petrol variant provides a peppy driving experience and the convenience of an automatic gearbox.
Kia Sonet:Variants, Features, and Warranty (approx. 200 words)
The Kia Sonet was initially launched in five trim levels - HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+. The sportier GT Line version is available in the fully loaded GTX+ trim, featuring distinctive red accents and additional equipment. Kia has periodically updated the Sonet, introducing more features and its new badge in 2021. In 2022, a new range-topping X-Line variant was also introduced.
Noteworthy features in the HTX+ variant include a sunroof, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, cruise control, an air purifier, a Bose audio system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 'UVO' connected car tech, and a rear camera. The top-spec GTX+ trim offers six airbags, ESC, front parking sensors, an all-black cabin, and a wireless phone charger. Dual airbags, ABS, and rear parking sensors are standard across all variants.
The Kia Sonet has demonstrated reliability, and in a resale study conducted with OLX, it showcased minimal depreciation compared to other models in the segment. Kia's extensive service network and readily available spare parts further contribute to a positive ownership experience. Additionally, depending on the model year, a warranty is provided for added peace of mind.
What to Look Out for in a Second-Hand Kia Sonet
Before finalizing the purchase of a used Kia Sonet, there are a few crucial aspects to consider:
DCT Gearbox: Some owners have reported issues with the DCT gearbox overheating during stop-go traffic. Ensure a smooth start and shifting during a test drive.
Suspension Wear: Check for signs of worn-out suspension bushes by driving over rough patches and listening for excessive crashing or noises.
Infotainment Issues: Although uncommon, there have been cases of the Sonet's infotainment system malfunctioning. Test the touchscreen, connectivity with your phone, and the functioning of the reverse camera.
Rear Seat Space: Keep in mind that the Sonet may not offer ample space for adults in the rear seats. Consider this factor if accommodating passengers is a priority.
Fuel Efficiency: The turbo-petrol DCT version may have higher fuel consumption in urban conditions. If low running costs are important to you, consider the other available engine options.
Second-Hand Kia Sonet Price and Resale Value
In the used car market, there is a wide range of Kia Sonet models available at various price points. However, it is advisable to spend between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 11 lakh for a used Sonet. Paying more than this range might not be cost-effective compared to purchasing a brand new model. Negotiating the price is also a viable option to bring it down to a reasonable level.
Conclusion
The Kia Sonet is a compelling option in the used car market, offering a stylish design and refined engine options. By considering factors such as engine and gearbox choices, variant features, potential issues, and resale value, you can make an informed decision when purchasing a used Kia Sonet. Remember to test drive the vehicle, inspect it thoroughly, and evaluate the price to ensure you buy a good example that meets your requirements. With careful research and consideration, you can enjoy the benefits of owning a reliable and stylish compact SUV like the Kia Sonet.
