hiiii thanks for clicking read more :3 here is a 🥺(pien, since walenty's design does take light inspiration from jirai jei fashion) khiyophor

so!! unlike the au where walenty takes paris's place, they swap with delta this time. they're lowkey thriving compared to their own canon it's amazing... ANYWAYS one of the first things I did was discuss khiyophor (χ-04, the ∆ of beldam institute got replaced with a χ because I didn't wanna name walenty delta) and what powers they could have! I still think telekenisis would've been an okay-ish fit but I wanted to be original...

I didn't have a lot of good ideas, so at the end it came to choosing between aerokinesis (air manipulation) and portal making!! I really liked the vibe of aerokinesis and the possible visual of soldiers wearing gas masks because there won't be any oxygen on a planet, or a horrible tornado that completely destroys a civilization and leaves nature to retake its course. it's also reminiscent of delta basically nuking cities by squeezing them with telekenisis while still being its own thing :3

however I also liked the possibility of khiyophor stalking people through mini portals! lil peepholes... they're also weaker in terms of raw power so they'd need way more precision..... that's so walenty I love my control freak.......

also! whereas delta's powers have an electric aura and johanna's a floral one, khiyophor's are cold/icy :3 this also corresponds to the rest of their overuse symptoms!! but first I gotta explain other stuff LIKEEEEEE THEIR DESIGN! rah I love character design

look at their little outfit.... it's actually quite inaccurate to empire design conventions since alia's and mine aesthetics are so different but it's okay......

they're taller in this au than in their canon! not by a lot, but a little. also a bjd (ball jointed doll) like paris! originally this was for thematic reasons (already being porcelain doll-like, control symbolism, dehumanisation), but their visual similarity to paris (or more importantly, sabina) does actually play a role! I also changed them to be strawberry blonde rather than purple haired to really zero this in 😭 khiyophor is not related to paris, they're just the same species (actually I think paris is only like half doll while khiyophor is full) and both blondes (different blondes but still) and have black eyes

oh also small detail! I stole @/sir-fenris's hc of doll ppl constantly being tiptoed because of doll feet being built for heels. this is why khiyophor has platform heels instead of their usual platforms

look at it... also despite empire's jewelry typically being gold, khiyophor has silver because they're a walenty and walenty has silver jewelry. also it doesn't actually have a lock like the one in the back, it locks like delta's does, I just wanted to add something there 😔

okay I think that's it about design for now.... uh uh I was talking about psychic stuff. SOOO khiyophor has portals, but how are those used?

similarly to how delta can sense "touch" with his telekenisis, khiyophor's portals have their own senses! for sight and sound it's like watching something from a camera monitor but that monitor is its own eye, for touch smell and taste it's like doing it through a bag that dampens it sorta? so often during attacks they just have a portal at the sky as a vantage point and overview of the battle. alia compared it to the eye of sauron....

anyways how they're deployed issss actually among other soldiers! their portals close inwards and have sharp edges, so they stay at the ship, get coordinates called out to them, and snip off heads while the rest of battle is happening. yay? khiyophor can have multiple portals at once when uncollared!! so if they're not reaching their limit when the battle is over then they even teleport leftover body parts that fell to a storage bin

speaking of their limit!! the overuse symptoms have stages! gradual deterioration >:) I started a drawing with this but haven't gotten back to it bc I'm me

at first it's shivering because they're still feeling heavy winds and blood sprays and all the other sensory stuff! quickly goes into like. small twitching and muscle spasms, then the shaking is more violent (clack clack clack bc of doll joints!) and they start slouching at this point 😭 martino gives them a slap on the back of the head like you do with old computers to restart them... it works......

but yeah they are shaking twitching hardly even keeping their eyes open. also they do the thing where you tear up not as a crying thing because your body is trying to expel something dirty from your eyes or cleanse them or smt. they do that. also fall at the next stage, has to be caught so that they don't hit their head 😭😭😭 poor baby tbh

another thing!! you remember how I mentioned aura in reference to the air feeling electric around delta or floral around johanna?? khiyophor's is cold!!! the windows are frosting are frosting over. everyone is shivering. buttons and controls get locked in place. there is a guy who's entire job is to give everyone muttons. it's very cold 👍

in the worst cases there'd even be frost forming around khiyophor but if they've been pushed that far they're half delirious already so that's when the attack is called off!! khiyophor is bedridden for an average of 4-7 days. this is the estimate because it happens often and khiyophor has a weak immune system and some unspecified disability that would have killed them long ago if they haven't been heavily medicated since it surfaced at beldam (spikes and worsens from stress khiyophor just crushes occasionally)

also!! this is in direct contrast to canon!walenty's own insanely strong immune system. χ-04 is sickly frail victorian child core to balance that

and yeah! walenty (renamed to χ-04(khi-oh-four→ khiyophor) by beldam :( χ replaces ∆ in this au for aesthetic reasons) is from the planet paris's mom is from. doll! originally I did this for the symbolism of being manipulated like a marionette but when the sibling dynamic was apparent I just made them blonde to really hone it in. they're a different type of blonde than paris but still

paris and khiyophor are NOT related, the emperor just bought a superweapon that looks a bit like they could've been paris's sibling. I actually don't know if this is an incidental thing in universe or if he specifically picked them over other weapons in this au cause alia and I haven't talked about it

I'll elaborate a lot more on my main infodump about khiyophor since you mentioned you haven't finished destroyer, but yeah the golden child and scapegoating is insane here. paris is getting into fights at school while khiyophor is well behaved and has big eyes and is powerful and obedient. paris is a failure of a son that always gets into trouble and doesn't listen to him while khiyophor does and is receptive to his affection and is small and quiet, they, unlike a certain someone, don't shout and fuck everything up and argue and are a pain to be around

oh yeah!! in the pre-destroyer era the emperor gives delta gifts and is surprisingly tender to him cause he still yearns for a child. delta just thinks he's weird. khiyophor also thinks he's weird and due to having not always been at beldam is able to understand he's doting on them cause he's dissapointed in his actual son. however they've given up on escape so when the emperor is nice to them they're fine with getting attached to him since that makes this life easier and he's nicer like this.

paris and khiyophor interact SOME when they're younger but it's not much tbh. khiyophor is never really left alone other than when they're in their room. one of their first interactions may have actually had is paris watching khiyophor have a regular check-up after being deployed cause he's curious about the new kid. khiyophor immediately snitches to martino abt seeing him peeking and later they watch as the emperor hits paris for overstepping :( but generally yeah they're distant

throughout their entire life, khiyophor has had zero control over their life, but they can manipulate how they're perceived to a certain degree, and they thrive on that and figuring out people's tells and how to act to make them view them this way and the feeling of manipulating somebody. it's a power/control thing. this also manifests in closeted sadism but that's for infodump part 2

when they're older and paris inherits the throne he does the obedience training thing he did with delta!! so during one of those they're testing out how he'd react to them generally showing distress and (fake) crying. they don't actually manage to cry cause beldam trauma but they do sniffle and stuff and it actually works in getting paris to be nicer :0 he's already a bit more lenient with khiyophor from the start cause they're younger than delta, so when they're obviously upset it's really hard to be mean to them and they obviously know their place

because of ^ this ^ PLUS the fact khiyophor working looks scarier than delta PLUS being sick and miserable on a regular basis paris is nicer to them. he still performatively leashes them around and they're still dehumanized to hell and back. he still uses them as a venting outlet, but it's more commonly verbal/hanging out and he's not emotionally dependent on them like he is on delta. lowkey better adjusted than in canon destroyer

there's also an event that happens in destroyer which has an alternate version in this verse. if you wanna guess dm me and I'll say yes or no ig

so if i’m understanding this, based on the drawings n the detail of the ball joints clattering when wallenty’s using their psychic abilities, they’re the same species as paris in this au. would paris treat them any different than he would with delta because of this? like it’s a lot easier to view something as inhuman/unfeeling when it’s so much different than you, but when someone looks so similar, i’d imagine it’s a bit harder. then again, it’s paris, soo…

i think shavit is going to post more on this later but to give a brief non-spoiler answer, khiyophor’s appearance creates a decent amount of royal family drama.

paris is extremely uncomfortable with the fact that his father purchased a superweapon who looks like him but is much more useful, not to mention better behaved. he interprets khiyophor’s presence as his father sending him a message or even a warning.

there are echoes of the golden child/scapegoat dynamic with canon delta and paris. that is turned up to 11 in the khiyophor-paris dynamic :)

paris is gentler with khiyophor than he is in canon for a couple of reasons! but its not necessarily because they look similar. in fact i feel like because of paris’s self loathing, khiyophor’s appearance actually puts them at greater risk of harm.

overall though they do receive better treatment than delta

to give this answer more context :3c

in the AU concept i have with @floral-comet-whump (see here!), galatea does end up kidnapping khiyophor against their will! has to be done because khiyophor is loyal to empire and will not go willingly.

in this circumstance, galatea does not fake khiyophor's death and is kind of just openly holding them hostage as a negotiating tactic.

paris is allowed to maintain his position as prince because hes slightly more stable in this AU and more importantly - he didn't lose his living weapon out of drunken negligence this time. like they straight up got kidnapped in a coordinated attack. not his fault!

the civil war keeps going and this is honestly one of the most favorable outcomes for galatea because paris and nezu are killing each other and neither of them has a psychic superweapon >:3c

also i think this AU is cute because paris has a direct line to levon and will not stop begging him to put khiyophor on. he misses them <3

What would have happened if Delta during Destroyer had straight up sent Kitty and Apollo the empire's file on Δ-107 and been like "this is me"?

my understanding is that a lot of the plan was predicated on plausible deniability. its unclear exactly how things developed on galatea’s end but by the time of rescue, apollo and kitty were pretty sure of delta’s identity. but without explicit confirmation they could kinda just frame it as a normal rescue operation and justify it like “we didnt knowwwwwww ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ” (they knew).

if delta just came out and said it they would probably have to tell levon. in that case there would be a more formalized plan put in place to address the Δ-107 crisis.

its a really delicate situation. i think it would take a while for galatea to reach a consensus about it. unfortunately the most straightforward way to neutralize delta is to kill him. its also a matter of removing him from the equation without crippling paris’s offense, thus ending the war early and letting nezu predominate. plus its a lot of resources sunk into both rescuing and then safeguarding delta for the rest of his life.

i think he wouldve still been rescued ultimately. probably wouldve been fine tbh? and safer??? this is why levon is so pissed off at them like “why didnt you just tell me? i wouldve said yes.”

but hes lying to himself when he says this. there was a non-zero chance he wouldve said no and opted to kill delta instead, given the information he had at the time. its a war!

interrupting to say the latter actually happens in the χ-04/khiyophor (delta and walenty roleswap, walenty has portals :3) au...

uhhhh child abuse warning, walenty/khiyophor is 16 nearing 17

SO when paris is assassinated on his birthday, khiyophor makes a portal where the arrow is going but they just barely miss it so paris still impaled on stage and camera. ouch... and then they just tackle him to the floor (loud!!!) and try to put him into a portal to a medbay but they can't cause they can only make tiny portals with the collar...

also all of this was caught on camera, just like paris's assassination was caught on camera. also also it's pretty obvious empire is using a psychic, since khiyophor is usually deployed as a sniper in conjunction with other soldiers rather than a nuke like delta, and galatea knows what said portals look like. conclusion this is who's making the portals

SO!! khiyophor is taken prisoner by galatea :3 it's WAAAAYYY more organized than delta's rescue was, and there's even a few failed attempts!! paris also does not get dethroned because this is an abduction from galatea and not his fault. he calls levon on the phone so much it's actually really funny...

as for khiyophor they get a cell pretty similar to the one delta had in trial, also psychic proof, and from here there is plot! HOWEVERRRR neither I or alia figured out how the story progresses!! galatea and paris are at a stalemate because of khiyophor. that's a superweapon so they're weakening empire, but also they're only weakening paris's side so if this continues nezu'll win the civil war

he basically never develops a conscience in this one, having no view outside of his own callous surroundings or any real perspective on the harm he’s doing. he’s still just like ughhhhh i hate this fucking jobbbbbbbb -_- *blows up a city* *blows up a city* *blo

he responds a lot more negatively to paris’s abuse when he can’t justify it as something he deserves. and delta doesnt have the support system or distraction that helps him to cope with it :(

unfortunately despite that i think their relationship is a bit more co-dependent because delta isnt pulling away and probably seeks paris’s approval and kindness more because he’s not getting validation or purpose anywhere else. hes more brainwashed for sure.

in the instance where galatea finds out Δ-107 is alive, the goal is to kill it. i know thats harsh. but it is SO dangerous to keep a superweapon who has shown nothing but total loyalty to empire and who is totally fearful and distrustful of rebels (as delta would be in this situation!). additionally they do not owe him anything the way they do in canon, so there’s no kindness to repay. the plan is to kill him quickly and painlessly. sorry delta !

but the possibility of galatea taking delta as unwilling captive is REALLY fun. this post is getting long and im tired but i could say more on this later. literally this meme lol

yeah i think this about covers everything without venturing into spoiler territory !!! fun difference in this AU is that in the flashback chapter it is khiyophor who sees paris getting beaten for overstepping which kinda sets the tone for their relationship 😭

paris is still a bit gentler w khiyophor out the gate because they are younger than him by three years. he does not really want to be in this position over them — frankly, he doesnt even want to be in that position over delta — but as he sees it, theyre both part of a larger system that they cant really change. so dehumanization it is.

walenty is manipulative as a survival tactic and learns that paris can actually be pacified by visible distress and specifically crying! it makes him feel bad. beldam institute was really strict about conditioning students to not show emotion so this is something that delta would never discover. deltas own trained stoicism reads as a kind of stony indifference that just makes paris more upset because he thinks delta isnt taking him seriously (delta isnt taking him seriously but thats besides the point…)

khiyophor’s willingness to play up their own emotions and give him the response he wants helps to calm a lot of paris’s behavior down.

also yeah The Event changes the dynamic a bit. paris gets a lot more insane after that and in canon his abuse heightens but in the AU, because of how things play out, it becomes really obvious that to continue taking out his anger on khiyophor is inexcusable. so that saves them a lot of grief too.

yes!!! i was thinking of this AU when i said that because we’ve actually talked about this exact scenario before lol. khiyophor never tries to escape! so the only way galatea would ever get them in custody is by force :o)

even in this context i think its still possible that galatea just decides its easier to knife khiyophor than it is to save them. HOWEVER i think the specific attempt to save paris’s life (☹️) + khiyophor being visibly young + khiyophor’s powers being viewed as less destructive than delta all contribute to them appearing to be more sympathetic. so in this scenario they are captured so that empire cant use them as a weapon and additionally as a kind of bargaining chip. again its a lot more strategic this time around and levon is actually looped into it for once…

in some ways it very much is a continuation of khiyophor’s dehumanization to hold them hostage like that. levon and galatea are generally very sympathetic to khiyophor and really try to treat them with kindness but its a bit of a tricky situation and i think khiyophor is bored out of their fucking mind in the meantime

paris is still prince in this timeline 👍 he did not drunkenly lose his psychic superweapon in one night he just failed to secure them against repeated attacks from the resistance. he loses street cred for that but he is not deposed and this time he KNOWS galatea has his weapon and he is pissedddddd. i think paris in the khiyophor timeline is really interesting honestly because hes a bit more in control of himself and a bit gentler. their relationship is p interesting actually!

but yeah in this timeline paris has levon on speed dial and is blowing up his line constantly asking to speak to khiyophor

sorry i just think this is an extremely endearing paris moment. hes worried about them !

i have not really answered what delta specifically would be doing in the event he was held hostage but this is the most ive explored the concept using khiyophor!! khiyophor of course has their own quirks which make the situation a bit different (bit people and cut off their fingers while being kidnapped 😊) but this is kind of an outline of how the universe goes from there.
