Lately ive been seeing multiple top ten lists that squeeze in kamaru usman at number 9 or 10. Do you think this is a fair assessment or recency bias? I feel like having 2 of his title defenses against bum ass Masvidal kinda works against his legacy. Obviously usman is a much more complete well rounded fighter than izzy hut i think theres an argument to be made Izzy had a better level of competition. I wonder if one of Usmans victims (strickland) becoming mw champ is whats propelling him to top ten status since what seemed like a random win at the time is now aging extremely well
Yeah, sadly half of Usman’s titles wins (Colby 2, Masvidal 2, and Woodley) aged really poorly. TBF the Masvidal and Colby rematches were crap from the jump. Woodley went on to lose every round of MMA he fought after Usman and threw like 10 punches combined. I do think the first Masvidal and Colby wins (+Burns) are worth a lot but if we’re holding those up as Usman’s big career wins? How do they match up against the best wins of Fedor, Silva, GSP, Aldo, Holloway, Volk, DJ, Jones, DC, Lawler, Khabib, Alvarez, Poirier, TJ, Cruz, McGregor, Islam, Do Bronx, BJ, Edgar, Stipe, Whittaker, or Izzy (I’m leaving a lot of names out). I just don’t think the wins are there to be honest. I also don’t give Usman too much credit for his win over Strickland because this is the same guy who was losing to Zaleski dos Santos and Ponz at 170lbs. Good fighters but not on anyone’s top 30 greatest fighters in WW history. Sean’s best win at 170 is arguably Nordine Taleb.
The story of Usman’s title reign was one of rebirth and gridlock at welterweight imo. Lawler, Woodley, Condit, and Wonderboy were aging out. Hendricks ate his way out 170. Then you had guys like Usman and Colby coming up on the old guard (Maia, Woodley, RDA) while Masvidal just so happened to get hot at the right moment off beating a guy who had heat but wasn’t as good as we thought (Till) and a loudmouth meme generator with a nonfunctional hip (Askren).
But guys like Leon, Belal, and - to a lesser extent - Rakhmonov, Chimaev, etc were kind of left on the outside looking in. Once Colby and Masvidal established themselves as contenders and stars(?), they did not interact with anyone else again. For as good as they had been on the rise, I’d argue neither Colby or Masvidal ever solidified themselves in real Max Holloway/Robert Whittaker “I’m going to be at worst the #3 fighter in this division for a long time” way. And it’s still a thing we are dealing with years later. It took Leon and Belal like 10 fights with no losses to get a title fight. And Belal only just got his this year! That’s insane. He came up at the same time as Colby and Usman! With no immediate stars at 170, we’re probably back to guys getting to mix it up across the rankings so I’m happy the division is finally out of gridlock. The logjam seems to have passed.
Another knock against Usman is he hasn’t really had anything to show in his post-prime. When Aldo, Holloway, and Whittaker, for example, lost their titles? They proceeded to come back and just start picking off contenders. Taking big fight after big fight. To his credit, I thought Usman looked good in his fight with Chimaev for the circumstances he found himself in. I think he might still have some gas in the tank. A couple big name wins would really boost his resume.
But ultimately? ATG list are subjective. I don’t think the welterweight division has gotten significantly better since the days of GSP like some of these other divisions have, but that’s my opinion. I do think you’re correct about recency bias though. A lot of modern MMA fans don’t actually know anything about the sport pre-2019 though

“This is art, I think so. There are some fighters who, over time, come to the conclusion that they are creative people. Although from the outside they don’t look like that at all. They become creative people because they know how to draw. Draw a picture of a fight ".

TJ Grant ended his UFC career on a five fight win streak that was capped off with a KO of Gray Maynard which guaranteed him a title shot at Ben Henderson. Of course that's a what if fight we never got to see because Grant ended up retiring due to catching a concussion in training and ultimately decided that the money in MMA wasn't worth the damage he was taking (Seeing as things are now he was right lol)
But this guy was a dog. Somebody you should definitely look up if you're unfamiliar.
You also know what's crazy? That fight against Gray Maynard was at UFC 160. The same card where Cain Velasquez murdered Big Foot for a second time, JDS caught Mark Hunt with a crazy spinning wheel kick. And names like Max Holloway, Khabib, Wonderboy and Robert Whittaker were still fighting on prelims.
What a time.

MMA GOATS - Blog 5
The 7th tier of my MMA goats list has only one fighter on it, because having more than one fighter on it would be disrespectful to this next fighter. He’s the most feared and famous to come from the UFC and the entirety of the sport of MMA; the one, the only, the notorious.
“The Notorious” Conor McGregor
Tumblr media
But seriously, Conor McGregor is a great fighter and an even better marketer that brought an almost unheard of attention to the sport of MMA and to the UFC, pretty much becoming its backbone for them to build off of. I remember before I even got into MMA and fighting sports, I heard about Conor and what he did, and that’s really puts in perspective for me how big he really was. Looking at him from a birds eye view, the things he did in the sport and the wins and losses he faced, made his legacy of “the notorious” and the reason I as many others find him so enjoyable to watch and listent to.
When Conor was a kid, he was inspired by the likes of Muhamed Ali and Bruce Lee and by the bullies in his life to learn how to fight back. On the 14th of july, 1988, Conor was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and attended an Irish-language school where he found his passion for soccer and at the age of 12, his passion for boxing. But it was when he moved to Lucan, Ireland when he really found his path in MMA and started training with future UFC fighter, Tom Egan. Conor spent all of his amateur and some of his pro MMA career in Ireland as an average fighter, racking up wins and losses in the lightweight division and the more natural featherweight division. Until, after a defeat, he went onto a 8 win streak that made him the first European pro MMA fighter to hold belts in two divisions at the same time. Dana White’s attention was piqued, enough so that he flew out, met Conor and signed him to the UFC just a few days later, a moment that marked the beginning of his rise to notoriety and fame.
Right at the start, Conor’s first fights consisted of contenders like a featherweight champion Max Holloway and an undefeated lightweight Dustin Porier, in which he secured both wins, eventually getting the belt from a prime Jose Aldo, sending him into his decline. At a time that seemed to be his height, it only got higher after his first loss in the scene against a welterweight Nate Diaz, pushing him to win in his rematch and finally becoming a two division champion by KO against a lightweight Eddie Alvarez, leaving the notorious Conor on top. Then, the beef between Khabib and Conor started up, a heated rivalry that still lingers between the two to this day, leaving Khabib on top by submission and Conor down a spiral of losses.
Although his loss to Khabib ended his hype and his win streak, he left me and the world with memorable moments and inspiration to the people who came after. I think Conor was a miracle to the UFC and the sport of MMA for the eyes he brought and what he was able to do with the little time he had at the top, much more than what others in that situation could ever do or ever did. Overall, I think Conor was a pioneer to shit talk, selling events and for what it means to be a superstar, so for that he deserve his place on this tier, but I can’t put him any higher because of she chose to become a star and build a legacy, the notorious, instead of put all his effort into becoming a killer in the scene like most of the fighters on the next tiers. And come on, I got to have another Irish boy named Conor on this list.

all societal problems could be solved if you raise a generation of young men who are good. there are no male role models and this is why people like Andrew tate etc are so popular. I've heard this many times, in the lives of many young men myself included, either dad was not present or he was such a cucked weak loser you could not respect him at all. I think if you could replace these Andrew Tate types with men who are good, or be a good man and raise a family, then many societal problems would vanish.
for whatever reason the youtube algorithm has began showing me videos of this guy Khabib, the fighter, and I think he is actually a very good role model for young men, he should start some kind of internet grifter thing. Russian Muslim who talks about Islam a lot, being a family guy and not drinking and worshipping God and that kind of thing. these are the types of people young men should look up to. I would be happy if a significant portion of society converted to Islam. and I think we will see this happen over the next ten years, I mean serious conversion not to like meme online. and I mean in the west obviously.

Tony Ferguson fight week. There was a time where that drew up pure excitement, I miss those days. It was inevitable, a style that was so reckless accumulated damage.
Tumblr media
Now he’s a shell of himself, on a losing streak where we can see those glimpses of the boogeyman he once was. If the UFC hadn’t held onto the pipe dream that Conor would actually defend his belt, maybe El Cucuy would have held gold. Maybe him and Khabib would have fought. Maybe that one employee wouldn’t have left that wire there.
Here’s to praying to the blood gods that Tony wins. At least don’t let him mess up his pre-fight knee slide like last time, it might actually make me turn off the tv.
Just bleed.

my criticism of ti bingocard aka huge differences between entps vs intps
Tumblr media
you have to make a bingo set for each slot because there are certain things that doesn’t apply to entps at all.
“rarely vocalizes thoughts behind a decision”? entps and estps vocalize everything.
2. “competitive with oneself rather than others”? wrong for entp and even more wrong for estp! they have fe in the third slot and competitive as hell, especially intellectually. estp also is se "directly" competitive. think of conor mcgregor vs khabib nurmagedov. one estp, other istp.
3. “few opinions but they are very strong”? wrongest of them all for entp. a million opinions, some of them very strong, most others mid level, %30 remaining weak but entp will still argue with you until forever even with those weaker opinions where they need more data.
4. “need a lot of time to think alone”? also wrong for entp for obvious reasons. surely entps value “some” time to think alone but they are famous for bouncing off of other ideas. they are best at “brainstorming”. they think better when they begin to talk. if sstps has physical "flow state" entps has mental flow state.
see: "mental flow state" that just came out of nowhere. i was typing and typing and all of a sudden bam, there it was! your bingo card thing make me do this. interactive shit happened.

Hi, could you do an imagine with Khabib or Khamzat (you decide) where they get jealous, and it ends with smut please
I don’t like that, you’re mine
Tumblr media
* English is not my first language I apologise
* Gif is not mine
* Triggers: 18+, Smut, Swearing and a little bit of Fluff
Khabib POV
Y/n wanted to join me for today’s training session, she said she wanted to see me training. I didn’t like that idea but like always she won and now she was here, watching me training the other guys. I was giving instructions to a few guys as I heard her giggling. I looked over and she was talking to Islam, he was smiling brightly at her as she was saying something. ‘Why is she here for me when she’s so busy with him?’ “Islam, Get back here, training is here not there.” He nods and says something to y/n before he jogged back to the group. She looks at me and smiles. I immediately looked away, trying to control my emotions in front of everyone.
Y/N POV
He was irritated with something or someone. He was snappy and a bit mean against me as I tried multiple times to talk to him during his training. Now we where sitting in his car, driving back to our house. “Khabib, honey are you angry at me?” “No.” He didn’t say anything further, his eyes where on the road as his knuckles turned white. “You are angry, did I do something wrong? I didn’t mean to make you angry…” my voice trailed off and he stayed quiet. “Well I’m sorry…” “why did you wanted to come? I only saw you talking to Islam.” ‘What…is he jealous?’ “I did not, I tried to talk to you but you ignored me.” I lay my hand on his thigh. “Don’t.” He shakes my hand away. “What’s wrong with you..like seriously” I said to him.
Khabib pov
Something snapped in me as she said that. “You need to stop, I don’t like this conversation with you anymore .” She stayed quiet and looked out of her window. ‘Great now she’s upset.’ I parked the car and she gets out, slammed the door shut. I got out as well, quickly following her inside. “Are you angry at me now?” I asked her as she walked upstairs. “No but you are.” “I’m not angry at you my love…” she turns around, looking at me. “Then what, jealous?” I snorted. ‘Me jealous no way.’ “No I’m not jealous.” She starts to smile, softly touching my shoulders. “Yes you are, come on don’t lie.” Her fingers traveled down to my chest as she looked innocent at me. “I don’t like you talking like that with Islam.” I said in a lowered voice. My hands gently grabbed her hips and pushed her onto our bed.
Y/n POV
I lay on my back as he leans down to my ear. “You’re mine.” He whispers and pulled my jeans down. He hovered above me and pulled his dick out, he moves back down and slowly pushing it inside of me. I grabbed his arms and he started to move, thrusting his hips. “I’m not jealous, I’m protective.” He says as he grabbed my hands, holding them back down against the sheets. “Please let me touch you.” I whined and he kissed my lips. “No, you need to know where you belong to.” He was moaning softly against my skin, I was moaning softly and squeezing his hands. “I’m yours, I’m yours.” I said as I felt a tingling in my stomach. “Khabib please, I need to cum.” He released my hands and I grabbed his shoulders, biceps, chest, just everywhere. My nails scraped his skin and he hissed quietly as he sucked on my neck. “I’m close.” I threw my leg a bit higher up on his waist and closed my eyes, touching his chest. “Come for me baby.” He says and I felt that knot exploding in my stomach. I squeezed his arm and threw my head a little bit back. “That’s it, let it all out for me baby.”
He grabbed my leg and pushed it a bit higher, his rhythm changed and I kissed his hand. He smiles softly. “He can’t make you feel this way, only I can.” I nodded and licked his thumb. “Oh fuck.” He groans as I sucked on his thumb. I looked at him, a bit teasingly. He pulls his hand back and squeezes my breasts. “I want a second child.” He says and puts his head down on my shoulder, his moans muffled by my neck. “You’re my wife.” His final few thrusts became sloppy and he pushes himself a bit up,looking at my face. “I think I was clear?” I nodded and kissed his chin. “Yes, I’m yours and yours only.” “And I want a second child.” I giggled and kissed his nose. “And a second child.” He smiles and pulls me close, holding me as his dick, stayed in me. Holding it warm and safe for him. “Never laugh like that to him, I hate it.” “Okay mr I’m not a jealous person.” “I’m just protective of my wife.” I kissed his lips. “I know you do, I love you.” “I love you too.”

You may have already answered this, but what are your predictions for Alex vs. Jiri 2? Do you think Jiri will implement a different gameplan and beat Alex, or will Alex prove more technically sound again? What's your excitement level for this fight? Tbh I prefer it over McGregor/Chandler as to me Conor hasn't been relevant in the sport since he lost to Khabib.
Well, JIri accused Pereira of using 'Shaman Magic' to win the first fight between the two, so I'm not sure he believes in things like game plans. I'm not sure dude is capable of change. I think at this point, we can count on Pereira being a consistent offensive threat that his faults just don't really matter as much. I don't see much changing from the first fight, unless the incredibly short turnaround ends up being too much for Pereira. It should be fun while it last.
I didn't really care about Chandler-McGregor except for how it has been a gigantic waste of time for Michael Chandler, because that is funny. The actual fight was pretty meh to me. It's no Gaethje-Poirier 2.
